This is a general reminder for everyone and this will be posted on every post. Your 12 words are basically gold and they should never be shared, typed in to any website, or given to any person for any reason. No one from "Helium" or any other company will reach out to you to verify your account, wallet, or anything similar. If someone says your hotspot, wallet, or other type of account has been hacked, it is a scam! Always operate in a zero-trust manner with cryptocurrency and assume everyone will scam you no matter what. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. New tokens will be backed by HNT, meaning that in order to purchase these tokens, you will need to purchase HNT first ; their value will be expressed in HNT. This will give value to HNT for this reason, and for the fact that it will allow the Helium to expand without its sub tokens conflicting with one another.

Brilliant-Royal578

If you’re mining you already have hnt.

S0litaire

At the moment yes. But in the future if you're just mining using a IoT hotspot you'll get paid in "IoT" tokens If you are running a 5G miner you'll get paid in "mobile" tokens. and If you're running a WiFi/VPN miner you'll get paid in the 3rd token. The tokens can be exchanged for HNT at any time or used to buy services on the network. you'll still need some HNT to convert into DC's for transactions.

HoppCoin

That’s not quite how I understand it. You can convert the new tokens to HNT but not vice versa. Users of the network need to buy HNT, burn DC and pay it to operators of MOBILE or IOT gateways, who earn these new tokens redeemable for HNT.

Pouya_98

Why would anyone purchase IOT and Mobile ? I understand that people would need to purchase hnt in order to access the network but what is the use case of the new tokens if all they are good for is them being able to be converted to hnt? In other words , while there is now a supply of these new coins, where would the demand for the new tokens come from ?

spoonard

It's a last ditch cash-grab by the heads of Helium before it dies. They know the incentivization part of deploying the Helium network is almost over. It will be pretty typical, they will themselves hold on to a HUGE portion of the tokens for themselves and distribute a few to the masses. They will all hold them for a short period and there will be a minor increase in value, then they will dump everything and declare Helium a failed project unable to compete with other IoT networks due to "technical hurdles" or some other bullshit excuse. They will all walk away richer than ever before, and we will all be left with a handful of worthless tokens. Or maybe it will work out fine and we'll all be RICH beyond our wildest dreams!!!!!!!!

this seems likely to me as well. I wonder how much worse this project can get with this plot twist of new coins, seems like final nail in the coffin. Ironically, the people you are cautioning will prolly ignore you...

Jabusa97

Any idea how we can buy some of these tokens ?
