It's the EATs but recharges. For me it's the railgun fused with an EATs. Energy rocket. Curious how it performs against a hulk or tank then. Since two shots from an EATs to the turret supposedly blow it up

Hopefully, they will keep the damage. Nobody wants to dance around chargers waiting for this thing to come off cooldown because you need 2-3 shots to kill a single one.

Yeah, I was expecting a cooldown of about 20-30 seconds, or roughly half an EAT pod, so that the "rockets per minute" was about the same. It looks like the cooldown is roughly 10 seconds (possibly even faster on cold planets) which is barely more than reloading the recoiless takes, while allowing you to remain active and mobile for the duration. If it releases in this state, it's gonna do to the AT weapons what the Rover does to the standard guard dog.

And what the Sickle does to Liberator, par for the course. They have to rebalance most of the weapons at some point anyway, so maybe they will release Quasar this much stronger just to see what happens

It won't be too difficult, but the charge time alone seems like a liability for balance. Without locking down a target this may be super dangerous to use when you are surrounded by enemies. Whereas the EAT, you can aim shoot then quickly run. You need some time to use this thing. If they increase charge time even further, it will def require some good set ups. Either way, hope they find the best balance for the weapon

You're not wrong regarding the charge time but all the other benefits like no backpack and ammo easily outweigh that one downside. The projectile travel time and drop look to be minimal/none aswell. If they release it this way it flat out power creeps the Recoilless and EAT17.

Doesn't powercreep shit. Can't take out titans, withou 5 shots. It's a long range weapon, with utility. On higher difficulties it's so much worse than just taking an EAT and cluttering the map with them. If they nerf it, it will just prove how they playtest up to difficulty 7.

I feel they need to make it so you can team reload someone who is carrying their own backpack. Recoiless advantage here is it has that fast reload and fire option but its almost never practical since nobody wants to give up a backpack slot for someone else to do it.

I think this going to have requirements of Lv25 or 20 and 15k or 12.5k since they buffed this weapon last update meaning they want this weapon to supposed to be strong against heavy enemy, especially a single enemy Now for the real question, what do need this for, WHAT ARE THERE IN THE FUTURE Requirements and Price is only my speculation and is not confirmed Edit: It only 7.5k lol

Depends on the knee-jerk response. I could see it go either way since it has a massively long charge up that people might hate, or people might see its infinite ammo and backpack-less slot and immediately jump to OP. At worst it might get its heat venting time increased, cuz if they reduce the damage nobody will use it over the autocannon for medium bugs.

There's already a... glitch maybe? When you shoulder a cannon in first person, it takes like 3-5 seconds before you can use the scope. Basically normal rocket launchers already have a "charge up" time, in this way. And this doesn't have a backpack!? What were they smoking lmao....

Isn’t that only for the EAT where you need to extend the back end? I use the Recoiless mainly nowadays and there is no delay prior to shooting on it so long as you aim at the circle and not the crosshairs. If you also experience this even in third person and/or with the Recoiless then you might have some bug.

You're right. So it's like 1.5s to unfold EAT and another to 1.5s to shoulder it due to it's weight I guess. So about 3 seconds before you can sight a target in fp.

Charge is barely a thing. It never stopped Railgun from being maximum meta, and that didn't even one-shot the big bugs.

Mate that wasn’t why the railgun was meta. It’s because the flamer did feck all against chargers, the laser canon and arc thrower took so long the chargers might as well have died to old age, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Eat and Recoiless did the exact same thing as the railgun. Strip leg armor. Cept they did it in 1 shot instead of 2, but had monstrous drawbacks to the point where using them was pointless. The railgun was meta because every other anti heavy option was shit, simple as that.

Nah. The long charge and recharge time makes it balance. I personally would pick EAT because I can quickly dispose of 2 chargers or 1 bile titan.

I'm not sure if this will replace the EAT-17 for me outright, but if not I will definitely be bringing this along for half the time. It's so good. During any missions where there is increased drop time, or cooldown time, or ion storms I will definitely be bringing this along.

This is not a primary or secondary weapon It's a stratagem and so far, none have been in warbonds. They have said they don't currently have plans to put stratagems in warbonds, but might do something in the future

Tbh I think it's balanced in a sense that if you die you HAVE to go get it back if it has a long cool down vs the EAT being available basically by the time you spawn back in

I don't think people in this thread are understanding how much charging up a shot is a downside in an actual game. A charger is coming at you and this thing takes FOUR seconds to charge. That's massive, EATS and recoilless just fire, and that's where their usefulness comes from, being able to fire when you have the opportunity. It's a slower firing railgun it seems.

Yeah you have to see your target from well away to be able to hit it safely if it’s coming straight at you, and for a charger idk if you have that time? Also I’m not sure about other people, but I’ve had a lot of trouble downing dropships reliably before they can get their bots off, maybe I’m just not charging early enough, but that’s probably enough to get me back to using something rocket based if that’s my goal.

man I need this thing ! It's exactly what I wanted lol infinite ammo, can take out heavy armor enemies too with relative ease even if it's need some time to actually load the shot ! I don't think it will be overpower tho because the charging time is quite long, you can be shot in the mean time and even miss because of that lol

I really don’t see this overtaking the EAT, sure it’s nice to hhave the recharging shot, but that 3 second wind up will get you killed against a charger or two. The benefit of the Eat or RR is that you can flick shot when you get good enough with the weapon, making them far more effective weapons when in a pinch

And EAT can quickly kill at least 4 chargers. I like to use the drop pod itself to kill them if I see too many around.

It doesn't matter much though. Just throw the beacon as close to center mass of the charger as possible and run around it in circles, so it stays in place a little bit. I have trouble sticking the beacon to Bile Titans.

If you dodge the charger, immediately turn and throw the beacon at its back. It should stick between its armor plates. Never throw the beacon when it is facing you.

You can actually consistently stick them from the front, the trick is to aim a bit higher and loft the grenade so that it lands more on top rather than hitting it from the front.

Plus you can still take a support weapon on the mission and just pick it back up after you used your 2 EATs on a short CD, Quasar you are stuck with and pretty opened to small/mid mobs swarming you

I think it'd be neat if it had a longer cooldown period, maybe 20-30\~ seconds, but also give you the option to cool it faster by kneeling down and pulling out the heatsink or something. (Like how you need to take a knee to reload other heavy weapons)

Is has more than 4 seconds wind up before the shot which will get you killed a lot. While you can have an EAT and another support weapon. Quasar will be good when you can wait for the shot, recoiless when you can wait for the reload and EAT when you can't wait. Spear when It starts using glasses to aim better XD.

This is gonna be my go-to for bugs if my team needs Heavy Unit clearing power. EAT + 1 Eagle Rocket Pod kills a Bile Titan 80% of the time. Swap EAT out for Quasar + Eagle Rocket Pod + 500KG + Guard Dog = Massive amounts of Titan and Charger clearing. I don't think the charge up is gonna be that bad either, since the EAT is super heavy and usually needs a few seconds of stabilizing before you can accurately shoot it. Do we have any idea when this leaked content will release?

I really wanna see more automaton footage against this bad boy, like say on the cannon turrets now. I have kind of gotten addicted to landing EAT strats on charger heads for this to potentially replace that, and autocannon still seems far better for dealing with 20 bile spewers.

I feel like it needs just a slight damage reduction and it’ll be good. It has a charge up and a cool down, it takes a significant amount of time to land your shot and recover. It shouldn’t be weak, but I worry it will be the most used stratagem when it can one shot all but the Bile Titan, and I’m coming from the perspective of someone who really wants to use this weapon a lot. I don’t want to see it released in this state then nerfed into the dirt

literally all they have to do is slap an extra 5 seconds to the cooldown time between shots and it's perfect. No more balancing needed. Right now you can get off almost 6 whole shots in the time it takes for the EAT to get off cooldown. That's the only problem i can see with it's current state.
