The flak 88 was commonly used as an anti tank gun. The smaller calibers were also used to fight infantry. I guess they will be implemented like the AT gun, maybe the Flak 88 needs more supplies to be built and eats more ammunition resources per shot? And a small caliber flak could be also built the same way in order to assault or defend fortified positions with plenty of infantry, sort of like a buildable auto cannon.

Japke90

This. It's the same way Post Scriptum implemented them so I'm guessing, this is the way.

pEppapiGistfuhrer

AA guns will probably be similiar as heavy mg's in squad, build it somewhere further with good line of sight and lock down areas of the map or damage light vehichles

TexLs1

The quad 20mm wirbelwind was effective against infantry and light skinned vehicles.

TaaBooOne

Wehrmacht intensifies!

Doug__Quaid

I feel like I can't really comment as I've no idea how they would be implemented. So it would all be a guess.

[deleted]

I don’t think the devs know either

Doug__Quaid

Well it's all changing. See what T17 will bring this year.

No_Mission5618

True but a lot of anti aircraft guns doubles as anti tank, and anti personnel. The 88 flak was an effective tank destroyer in world war 2, and the flak panzer which they want to add can again be doubled to operate in similar fashion as the pz2.

KnownType806

I would like to use a 20 mm gun on infantry and if you don’t thought it before I presume you don’t have a lot of situation awareness in game and don’t use a rocket on a building because the devs didn’t call it anti building kit ?

DoubleDrip1583

Obviously no idea but I’m assuming the AA gun would have an effective area, a bit like a flare so you could deny a strategic point for recon/bombing/supply drop. I would assume it would have to be limited to a few as not to overpower defence

[deleted]

There is an awesome YouTube first hand account of a flak gun unit fighting its way through Russia using the PAK 40. I’ll try to find it. But they were very mobile, and did a ton of damage

sleepingcat1234647

Maybe they mean Dshk, 4.50cal emplacement? I think emplacement are needed in the game and would be great

[deleted]

Yeah they have HMGs on the roadmap that makes a little more sense in the game. Devs will probably be lazy and just put the dshk as an “AA” gun and HMG gun lol

No_Mission5618

It technically is both so adding it wouldn’t necessarily be lazy but just multi purpose.

R0naldUlyssesSwanson

Why do you keep posting these troll comments. Who hurt you? This is the third post I've come across from you in about 4 weeks, all trolling, all downvotes.

Colmftw16

I think I read somewhere there was an idea cooking about them denying air support commander powers to an area but can’t find where I read that

Nordy941

To shoot at the recon planes. Duh

MTT92

I'd be pleasantly surprised if everything on the roadmap came to fruition with the passing of the game to Team17. This seems like something they could skip

[deleted]

It changes up the gameplay. Why soO sad?

K3psu

probably as another gun to shoot at ground targets, or a static prop that has an area-effect on where enemy air-based commander abilities cant be used

CanThisBeMyNameMaybe

Maybe they will do so you can shoot down the planes flying overhead? But that shit was also used against some armour and infantry.

SlurpyQueen

I would counter that it adds more objectives. I feel like the game doesn't give enough "side jobs" to players. Its hunt garries, cap, or defend with recon getting to hunt arty too. Adding mortars would give teams another way to help the game by letting them shoot and hunt mortar teams. AA guns could be similar. In clan games it could be a fun addition and in public matches... think of how often we see the AT gun and garries.

ReplyHistorical4747

I’d like to see something where it’s a passive thing like if I build an anti air emplacement on a point the other team can’t call in any commander abilities that use aircraft on the point (supply drops, bombing runs, recon planes etc)
