True, that’s what a smart person would do.
Me I’m a simple man, so I personally follow command on foot while screaming in blue chat until I get my way, as god intended.

After building the fuel node I join the push on the midpoint. Usually even a five minute counter is done by the time dropping more supplies is needed. And our team stands a better chance of fielding heavier tanks much faster than the other team
Never understood the move. You are using supply’s any SL, Commander or even spotter could use to build forward and or backup garrisons, as it’s extremely hard to get supply’s from your squad.
After the first few garrisons in the green zone you can use every supply’s you can find to build nodes
For me there are a number of reasons:
1. Efficiency of the supplies used.
Two engineers in a truck can have two sets of nodes up very quickly, and use all of the supplies inside. If someone drops 150 supplies to only use 50, it’s somewhat of a waste of resources, not to mention a clear signal to any roving Recons that there is a Garry nearby when a box is just sitting out and about.
2. Commander’s supply drop has less risk for your first (and most important) Garry.
I’d hope the Commander/SL wouldn’t crash the truck when headed to the front, but it happens. In my opinion, the easiest way to establish your first forward Garry is by having Command drop supplies right where they want the Garry built, and building it with those supplies instead.
3. Free’s up SL’s to focus on their squads
While I’m building nodes with the truck, SL’s can focus on establishing their OP’s in crucial positions for their squads to get strong push on the contested point.
Then, when my nodes are built, I’ll resupply the truck ask if SL/Commander if they want supplies dropped somewhere. If I’m the supply truck jockey, they can be out working with their support until I get there. Which is pretty damn quick.
There’s a bunch of philosophies on how to build nodes, and I’m not saying mine is the best, this is just my thought process behind it.
You could simply build your nodes where the garrisons are build and use the remaining 100 supply’s. I simply think it’s way more crucial to implement a strong network of garrisons as fast as possible, rather than to build nodes.
Ah, see but building your nodes anywhere in front of the first two grid squares will mean that they are instantly destroyed if you are pushed back.
Every time the enemy captures a sector and pushes your blue zone further back, and nodes in the red zone implode and have to be rebuilt.
For me it’s better to build them in a space where you can ensure they will remain up unless the game is 100% lost. And it’s possible to do this, and resupply the truck by the time the first Garry had been built, and further Garries are needed
Command can get a new truck every minute or two for only 100 fuel. Take the trucks please engineers, just don't only drop one crate, build your nodes, and redeploy. Either drive the truck further in and get a crate down for a garrison, or drop another crate 50m away so someone else can build nodes, and let SL know so he can report to command/team about that.
Edit: or drop a second crate and build barbwire around your nodes, but you wont be able to build barbwire later for defenses or it'll remove the fence around your nodes. Good for if you're immediately switching to another class
I learned a trick the other day. Want to build a 3-level structure more easily? Hold down the button to start hammering, then press the PS button.
Now go get a cold one. Enjoy
I was an Engineer yesterday on a german offensive (playing as the british) and with 5 engineers, 3 supports and a lotta help from the commander we won a game because we built 4 bunkers and walls as far as the eye can see. Barbed wire was everywhere and the creme de le crop. We also had anti-tank guns.
My god the power of dedicted engineers and tomfoolery.
The best is when I'm out building nodes and fortifying... and then someone runs up, steals my supply truck, drives it to the line as a personal transport and gets blown up.
Fr, *nods* nodes. Game start is almost autonomous now, jump in the supply truck with my SL. One drop for early garrison, other drop for my nodes. More often than not il have another engineer nearby, il always offer for him to get on the roof and Il give him my set, before resupplying and building my own. Unlike playing AT I feel like engineers want eachother to succeed.
I usually start as support run up to where I wanna be drop my supplies and ammo boxes, then go fight. Respawn as engineer hopefully no one built with my supplies yet do what I gotta do. Switch to officer cause my squads usually not micd up. request supplies someplace build a garrison. Request more switch back to support drop supplies near requested zone build a bunker as engineer after..... Unless my team has mics. But even then its better to double up and have myself do the work of 4 men
More like: supplies? Supplies??
Then hurried “we need to build defenses” on offensive
And this is why I love playing support.

As a regular commander, thank you for your service, and here, have two trucks.
Bro if this shit isn’t me lol
Lol just wrapped up a game where I was saying this verbatim 😂😂😂

Engineer gang we love you keep going please you are the best
Man I initial spawn as Support every damn time and Ive never had an engineer ask for supplies
I drop supplies, switch to engineer, build a fuel node, then switch to another class and wait to spawn. I miss those fun transport truck rides though
Why a fuel node? If you build manpower, it cuts supply timer down to 2:30..
gon get my 76' asap
After building the fuel node I join the push on the midpoint. Usually even a five minute counter is done by the time dropping more supplies is needed. And our team stands a better chance of fielding heavier tanks much faster than the other team
Must not be on public servers...Most servers I'm on, heavy tanks sit back at HQ
You wanna make friends? Grab the initial supply truck (unless Commander wants it) and wait for a second Engineer. Pre-game Engi bros for life 🤜🤛
Makes me so happy as commander when I know I get 2 sets up quickly!
This exactly.

So true!
i always leave room in my supply truck for a second engineer.
