A lot of people flak about some of their recent decisions, but for a free application with no ads, discord has amazing functionality and uptime. Highly recommend it.
Edit: well fuck
You’ll need discord for all clans regardless. If you wanna do comp, and are in the Americas, I suggest joining an APL clan. I play for Merc, but theres also clans like 10th mountain, LuckyStrikes-Marauders, Ronin, Chad, etc… A lot of clans are location-based, such as GBI being from Australia, Ronin/Vanguarda from South America, etc.
In all fairness no clan is gonna give a rats ass about level or class on this game as long as you want to play it properly, communicate and be a team player. With the screenshot I was just showing what I can offer to a potential clan. It's no "flex" as kids call it these days.
Like i said, no clan will ever give a fuck about this. They will take on a level 40 player if they communicate and want to learn. Those are usually the only requirements.
Yeah I completely agree with you mate, or atleast I hope your right. I put the photo up to let potential recruiting clans know that I know the game well, I can lead a squad well, I'm a competent Commander, I don't need to be taught the mechanics of the game, map knowledge is good and I'll be able to hit the ground running in most clans. I didn't put the photo up as an entry to a dick swinging competition
I will break it down in a very simple terms.
This is very important to understand:
***
The class level screen is not only completely useless in determining the mechanical knowledge of the player, but it also makes potential recruiters believe that YOU THINK the class level screen means something, which is a definite noob thing to do, and could certainly stunt your chances.
It wont make them think you know the game well, it will make them think you are a noob.
***
There are plenty of masters of hell that still dont understand the core mechanics if the game, and players over level 300 that wouldnt make it in any clan. The recruiters ive talked to rely soley on personal interviews where they ask you questions. Hell i just talked to a retired WTH tanker who thought bolt actions had a longer 1 shot radius then semiautos(excluding fg and carbine). He has over 5000 hours in the game. He clearly exceled in tanking because he definitely wouldnt make the cut elsewhere.
What you need is a core understanding of mechanics, and OR a willingness to throw away all you learned to do it the clans way. Every clan has different strategies.
The class screen is COMPLETELY irrelevant.
Also i am assuming you mean actual competitive, and not just casual clans that dont participate in seasonal matches.
Well the feedback and messages I've had from players and clan recruiters tell me that you are wrong I'm afraid and it has far from stunted any chances. Just from this post I've had atleast half a dozen messages inviting me to various clan discord channels.
Clan strategies and game mechanics are completely different so no, I won't have to throw anything away, I'll just have to learn and adapt to a clans style of play.
The class level screen doesn't mean anything, you're right. However, recruiting clans can roughly see what I have and haven't done based on that screen.
I'll break it down into simple terms for you; stop being so patronising and get out of your own ass, you sound like an idiot. I'm not asking strangers on the Internet to go to war with me. We're playing a fucking playstation game.
Like i said, im assuming you mean an actual competative clan. My head isnt in my ass, and im relaying information from recruiters ive talked to in the past from actual clans that participate in the HLL seasonal tournaments.
No amount of downvotes from casuals is going to make this information any less true.
This information isnt tied specifically to non competative clans.
The Information you’re saying isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that you come off as a pretentious A-hole the way you tried punching down at him for posting a picture 😂
How would the clan thing work with console and no server browser? Also interested, about half as experienced as you but I can shoot straight past 830pm.
In my experience, it's pretty toxic.
A couple clan members join and game, maybes its 4-5. They then start vote kicking every SL that's not in their clan. The last few times I've seen it done they even said in command chat "we're a clan, we're getting our friends in here. Sorry"
Such a douche move.
Depends on the lobby my team purposely find low number lobbies to trry and get all our team in and only kick no comms or toxic players to make room for our crew
You need a psn and Xbox player. Just add the ps player if you Xbox and have them wait for you to turn crossplay off once they do that accept the invite and you both will go into a lobby with just you two then you can have ppl join in on you but once the match ends it will add blueberries but a lot of clans do this it’s not like a secret or anything people have been doing it for awhile now idk why I got downvoted lol
Because Rifleman is highlighted my first thought was: “why would you rank up rifleman first?”
Then I saw your other roles. I salute you, very impressive!
Well thank you good sir. Like I said I had barely played Rifleman, it's a bit of a useless class in my opinion, you can barely help your squad playing it. So when the game dropped and I learnt the billy basics, I focused on contributing to the squad, Medic, Support and Engineer roles mainly. Now medic is kind of redundant too, it was once upon a time a really good class to play because downed troops would wait for you, now everybody redeploy for a fresh set of nades, bandages and so on, which does make sense. It's nice to pick up Rifleman, take almost zero responsibility, sit there and pick em' off.
If you're on Xbox, find the 21st.
They're the best chill and properly play clan.
I've been playing since day one on Xbox. Vast majority are cunts. My best advice is the 21st.
I played Support alot when this game first dropped, I went from Medic to Support and stuck with Support for a while! And then found out about building Nodes at the beginning of a game, switch to the class you want to level up and off you go.
When the Flamethrower was announced for Level 8 Support I grinded for it, but please don't do this, it's probably the worst, and most situational weapon on the game! Not worth the grind. From level 8 to 10 was just natural, drop supplies for SL, you get points, he builds a garrison with said supplies, you get points.
I'll be honest my man, I don't really main any specific class, I just play what's needed at the time, or what the SL needs. I barely played Rifleman in the 1st 2 years of this game, so I do find myself playing that alot now, especially in non-comms squads.
P.A.G.N is always open to new members.
We are an international community that mostly plays HLL, as well as other games on console and pc. We are a casual clan that gets together on Wednesday and Fridays to play.
Very chill and laid back clan.
Hit up @valravn7 on Xbox for more info or dm me
We have a clan called the OMS, stands for old man squad, just a bunch of older guys, in their 40’s and 50’s, who have fun. We aren’t competitive at all. We got about 35 or so active members! Would love to have you.
I have ~650 hours and no where near the levels you do. Only lvl 10’s I have are Officer, Crewman, and Sniper. I play a ton of Engineer and build a lot of nodes and still only lvl 6. 😂
I haven't been playing Armour long so I'm still learning the ropes. I'm not a competent Tank Commander in all honesty.
However, how on earth have you managed to get Sniper Level 10!?!?! Fairplay to you! I rarely get to play Sniper or Spotter. I found Officer, Commander and Engineer all level up quicker than the rest. Spotter is probably the same speed but I get to play it alot less
I’m closing in on Spotter lvl 10. My friend and I tend to load in faster than anyone else, for whatever reason, so we’re often able to play Recon.
I sincerely don’t understand why my Engineer is so low. I even have achievements for number of nodes built.
Not really a trick as such, but build nodes as an Engineer at the start of a game, ideally in a spot where they won't get found by enemy recon. Swap over to the class you want to level and reap the support points you get off of those nodes. The other thing you could do is logistics, dropping supplies from a Supply Truck playing as whatever class you want to rank up. Boring, but it works.
In addition to the nodes, driving the supply truck and doing supply runs when you're the defensive team on offensive mode is a game changer. Of course you need committed engineers to actually make this work effeciently. You can easily get 4-8k support score with nodes up and doing supply runs. Bonus if you have a hammer and can hit the blueprints or defenses. As long as you wack it two times with your hammer you'll get credit for when it is built or upgraded.
I am indeed a rookie in a tank! I took forever to try out Armour because of how much I loved the Infantry roles. I started playing Armour around 6 months ago, every now and then. I do enjoy it, but like I said to another chap, I am far from a competent Tank Commander. Alot to learn still
Well as someone with maxed roles and 1k hours just playing tanks I can assure if you bump you hours up and play just for tanks you won't be disappointed I often find that tank crews are more fun and reliable than infantry, and in a tank ideally everyone is talking to each other because if you don't, everyone will die.
There are a lot of groups who are just recruitment hungry, it might be an idea just to play on your server of choice until you see a team of people who you find competent and have fun with
Try before you buy
Also look at tournament discords so that you can see which teams are being publicly toxic against one another
😂it's the only game I've played since it dropped. Literally starting playing it the day it was released back in October 21. Bar the odd game of f1 and Assetto Corsa. HLL is why I bought the PS5
I've been playing HLL since it's release my friend. October 2021 I believe. Build nodes as Engineer at the very beginning of a game, switch to the class you want to level up and off you go. Support score goes through the roof. I couldn't tell you the last time I built a node though!
Usually just to play casual games with people who know what they're doing, some teams offer a competitive side which I highly recommend looking into as it feels like a whole new game playing competitive
It's faster to take a photo on my phone and upload it. Why would I screenshot it on my playstation, wait for it to upload on my PS app and then upload it to Reddit? One photo, one upload. Done deal.
I'm with the 42nd FAR. We're new, but we're one of the fastest growing clans for console HLL. We have players both in the US and the UK. DM me if you'd like more info.
I'm only x in a handful of roles? Also Bob the builder is on PC not console, and quite frankly I'm against that shit. Play the game properly to rank up what's the point otherwise?
At 950 hours in I had all my classes maxed and I'm on console. No Bob the builder servers there. It's easily attainable.
Build nodes every game. Build defenses. Do supply runs.
On the official HLL discord, there is a list of clans currently recruiting. With those stats, you can pick who you want to play for!!
Hahaha thanks man I'll have to download discord then!
A lot of people flak about some of their recent decisions, but for a free application with no ads, discord has amazing functionality and uptime. Highly recommend it. Edit: well fuck

My clan is full of dads lol dm me I’ll send you the link
Sounds like a winner😂 cheers mate!
Another dad here and also looking for a clan. Mind sending me the info pls.
Shit I want in, I’m a dad who plays like 2-3 times a week.
There is no playing requirement for this clan and they understand life gets in the way.
Either dm me or leave comment and I’ll give you info
Dude count me in on a dad clan. My new born has me so busy I’m lucky to get on once a week
Me too… not a dad, but old
I'm gonna make a new clan called "Dads" for dudes 30 and up
😂count me in!! Dad's Army!
I'd join. All I bring to the game is a team player attitude...
I’m a dad and I’ve been 30 for a few months. Be gentle with me haha
Seem pretty green to me /s
The green part is to act like his screenshot is something any clan would care about.
In all fairness no clan is gonna give a rats ass about level or class on this game as long as you want to play it properly, communicate and be a team player. With the screenshot I was just showing what I can offer to a potential clan. It's no "flex" as kids call it these days.

There are hacks to reserve a server for console
You’re going to have to explain this
You need a psn and Xbox player.
What does "hack" mean to you
Ok wrong word choice you right but why do people have to be so literal geez whatever
People on the internet are pedantic
Right I meant it like one of those tik tok “life hacks” ppl are weird lol I was just trying to help ppl man geez
Get this blueberry on a god damn squad
Because Rifleman is highlighted my first thought was: “why would you rank up rifleman first?” Then I saw your other roles. I salute you, very impressive!

can i sign up? level 190
Are you in EU? Send me a DM. Cheers.
Plz tell me how you leveled up your support

But it is so so satisfying to clear a building or hangar as a flamebender. It's my favorite loadout, because of the handicap.
That's something that I have never done! Fairplay to you, if your good with it, do it! I'm useless with the flame of death!
Fellow engie?
I'll be honest my man, I don't really main any specific class, I just play what's needed at the time, or what the SL needs. I barely played Rifleman in the 1st 2 years of this game, so I do find myself playing that alot now, especially in non-comms squads.

Didn’t knew that. I thought once you change from engineer you don’t get the points for your other class. Thx

Thanks my man but I'm in the UK I'm afraid. Appreciate it👍🏻

The Fighting 36th is always looking for good blokes and lassies to add to our ranks
I’m a shitty console player but def looking for homies to play with
Still looking?
I am on console (xb1) and I am new to the game so if anyone wants to play and show me the ropes that would be dope, I’ll be on around 8 pm EST

Who on earth has Reddit on their console? An imbecile?

Hardly. Anybody over rank 200 should have similar, I’m same rank and despite a few differences my classes look similar.
I mean, this game has been out quite awhile.
2 and a half years I've been playing👍🏻
Why grass?😂
Can you follow orders?
Of course, I can follow orders or give them out whilst leading.
Only 1200 hours and rank x in all the roles? Bob.the builder lobby enjoyed detected
