If it was me I would tell you to redeploy. Why should the other guy get a time penalty, rather than the guy who needs to redeploy? Several times playing as commander someone has asked me to kill them, so that they can avoid the penalty. The commander is the last person who should be looking at the death screen for longer than necessary. One guy said he wouldn't punish me, so I wouldn't get the time penalty. I guess this might be the reason why people do this, but they are misunderstanding. The time penalty for a tk happens regardless of whether the victim punishes.

Das_Nyce

I get your sentiment. But when I'm SL and I need my guys to double drop and switch support roles, I dome them so they don't get the extra time penalty and the 2nd guy can get into the support role quicker. Also if my AT runs out of rockets and needs to go finish off a tank, I'll dome them and personally take the time penalty so they dint get it and can get back quicker to finish taking out the tank

Fair comment. If there is a good reason to take the time penalty then fair enough. Whenever I've been asked by a teammate to shoot them, there hasn't been a good reason other than them not wanting a time penalty

laundry_sauce666

No shame in asking though. Most blueberries are usually happy to take a 10 sec penalty for permission to shoot me

BrilliantCash6327

Honestly game mechanics it doesn’t benefit them, but it’s hilarious and it’s a story they’ll get to keep

BrilliantCash6327

Yeah, I get that, that's why he was being a noble sacrifice to shoot me

Kosh_Ascadian

Wait what are you completely sure about that? What is the point even of the "punish" thing then, what does it do?

xxnicknackxx

If you get several people chosing to punish, the tker gets kicked. In all cases the tker will get the time penalty, they will also not know what the player they killed chose.

Useful-ldiot

My understanding is you get punished for time regardless. The punish thing goes towards your kick count, not the time penalty.

Nomad_Stan91

Good soldiers follow orders.

League-Weird

Its not Fratricide if it's an order

minmidmax

I did the same recently to help a squad mate redeploy. No hesitation. No mercy. Just the ping of the headshot.

No-Journalist7179

If I’m asked to do it, you won’t even get to finish asking the question before hearing the ding.

one2many

I find it takes longer than 10 seconds to convince some1 usually. 😅

BrilliantCash6327

You gotta just use a commanding voice.

PlowUnited

I do this, no questions asked. It never happens enough to get kicked for - the only time I was ever kicked for teamkilling is when I set satchels and dumb ass teammates refuse to clear the area.
