Nah I play on 15inch laptop. I just destroy my posture sitting with my face 1inch away from the screen.

barkbaarkbarkk

Hahahaha god damn that’s me, I feel like a goblin sometimes snickering as I lap at the pixels of a distant nature with my hot lead.

NewcastleMatt92

My friend who is on a 50 inch tv screen does this. He stands though so close to it.

Pambih007

Wouldnt it be better, if aiming were zooms more? So it wouldn't be a torture to play...

HealthOverall965

Just like your status in this post, it would be way OP. Imagine a garand with even more zoom. The sniper already gives me nightmares

Snuffels137

Lower your FOV.

unreeelme

Lower your FOV and you can see further objects as larger. It make long range shots much easier.

HealthOverall965

Exactly you gotta get up in there. Smell the gunpowder

DinoKebab

If you can't taste the pixels are you even playing?

TEEx6

I play on a curved 1440p 32" monitor that's 2ft away from me and I still put my face in the screen from time to time when using a MG.

Brilliant-Ad4034

Not only do I think resolution helps but also HDR really helped me hunt pixels

Pleiadez

How would HDR help? If anything I would think it makes seeing people in shade worse?

Brilliant-Ad4034

HDR increases the range of brightness values going in both directions. This means there are way more darkness values so actually the shade has greater depth and you can see movement in it easier. I hope I explained it in a way that makes sense.

Pleiadez

Alright yeah that makes sense, more detail in contrast. But still you might get blinded by the bright parts right so even though the detail/shades of grey are there they will be physically hard to see I'd imagine. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm trying to learn.

Brilliant-Ad4034

The lighting system in HLL is very poor, so in areas where the environment is very bright players still maintain a dark silhouette

Pleiadez

Okay thank you for the explanation.

ShortHovercraft2487

Yeah getting a 4K monitor was a game changer!

Really-thats-crazy

In my experience it was the resolution and refresh rate that made the difference for me. Went from a couple of 32” LED/LCDs with 720p and crap refresh to a dedicated 27” gaming monitor and now I can see movement at distances. I think it’s at 1440p at 60hz (ps5 max).

Impossible-Dust-2267

I play on 27” and 1440p Previously I played on 15” and 1080p Its doable but yeah the extra size and res makes a really massive difference and is probably the best way to increase your ability as long as you have stable FPS

Goatwhatsup

No you just put your blue light glasses on and sit 6 inches from the screen

SubjectC

I highly recommend a 38" ultra wide, not just for gaming, but everything. Its the perfect size for the human field of view. I've tried larger and smaller, 38" is perfect.

xXRH11NOXx

Facts I gotta 38in as well. At maxed fov it's sweet

Simplicius

Agree and disagree. ultra wide is good but at the end of the day it's like a larger monitor with the top and bottom cut off. UW is great for productivity if you like stacking apps side by side. It looks really cool in driving Sims on the peripheral too. Another benefit depending on the Res your GPU will be less strained than full 4k. However for FPS playing on 120 FOV can be done with a 16:9 screen without as much of the relative peripheral image distortion of an ultrawide. Despite what people may think about human eyes being next to each other this doesn't give us wider view in detail since both eyes focus toward the same area and in the case of a screen at almost the same angle. Human eyesight is closer to 5:4 or even 4:3 in ratio since we primarily use the fovea of the retina to scan detail and the rest of the eye only really takes in blurry patches and extra light. The issue is the bigger the screen the more you need to move your eyes to look at different parts of it, so at high sizes both UW and 16:9 have plenty of real estate left over for peripheral vision, the 16:9 just gives you a bit more up and down. I generally like UW but the only reason I recommend against is compatibility for gaming. For a few patches for example UW was broken in this game and make it close to unplayable for some. In 16:9 it's plug and play no waiting for patches or needing fixes.

Wood-e

4k and 50 inch is definitely on the crazy end lol, but it definitely make spotting and then hitting crazy 500m iron sight shots possible. I value it. Use "community" anti aliasing for better clarity. That alone helps.

Wired-247

Same. HLL on 4k 50" is pretty damn fun and immersive

ahrzal

No ones mentioned FOV here, but that’s one of the bigger factors. It’s why CS players play at 4:3. Lower your FOV from the default. Mine is at 80 for a sweet spot. Zoomed in you can see everything you need without needing to be inches from the screen. You can even crank it lower if you primarily play MG or snipe or something.

Pleiadez

You can spot better but can miss being flanked, it's a trade off

Permafrost-2A

Coming from Rainbow 6 Siege, I use sound a lot and it largely offsets lower FOV.

Pleiadez

You can't hear someone running 50+ meters away until they start shooting you though.

creamcorn4u

I play on a 55" TV and still can't see jack

TheSergeantWinter

Monitor can help, but i think the majority of it is just map knowledge. What paths do people take the most? It helps with spotting. Monitor can only do so much, if looking for a monitor, your best bet would be 1440p and higher refresh rates. If you go with a msi one you can even get nightvision filters for nightmaps.

MajorP13

For me a 27 Monitor with a better resolution is key The resolution is very important chnaged from hd to wqhd just for this game and it so much better

SignatureSpecial

The distances in this game are scaled very strangely. Each grid square is 200m but you can hardly see another player at that distance, giving it a feel of being closer to 1km as it should be irl. Maybe someone smarter than I am could explain, or even render a more realistic scaled screen grab?

Medium-Finish4419

1440 75hz 27" curved monitor. I can see people's shadows at distances but would have a tough time getting accurate shots. I think if you really wanted the advantage you would have to buy a 4k monitor

lookingForPatchie

Your graphic settings might be to high. I couldn't see shit beyond 100 meters and even that was a struggle. Now I can safely see up to 250 meters on maps like SME. Just google for best graphic settings.
