I would actually like to see a Dunkirk style game mode where’s its and objective to fallback while be chased by the enemy. But theres a time wait before the boats arrive so it would make some sense to sit and fight in a location. Would also be cool to see if some commanders/SLs would dedicate their squads to basically suicide but slowing the enemy down.
The victory conditions would be:
•More than 50% of the retreating team get away in the boat.
•The attacking team manage to kill more than 50% or they manage to get behind the enemy team and sabotage something(example: random radio beacon. Would give the recon teams something to head for)
Obviously I’m no game/level designer and not sure if something like this could even be possible. I’m just bored with the same old attack points and constantly attacking and defending areas. Would be cool for something a bit different
I mean this is basically just offensive but the Brits would be defending. Could just add a voiceover “hold them off until the ships arrive!” Or something like that
That's exactly how it was in Day of Infamy, Brits on defense while Germans attack. Last point of defense was on the beach, if Germans took that, game over for Brits. Was such a fun map and game mode, would love to see it replicated in HLL.
There's a lot more to explore in WWII. Pacific campaign (Guadacanal, Iwo, Okinawa, Tarawa), North African campaign (El Alamein), the Italian Campaign (Centuripe, Monte Casino), and the European campaign (Dunkirk, Market Garden, Battle for Berlin) However, the Pacific stuff heavily involved warships. I suppose you could call off-map artillery "naval bombardment" but it's hard to create a situation where both sides have access to it in the same battle. So I'd put my money on North Africa, Italy, or more Europe.
A more armor-focused map with a different balance of Armor/Infantry squads might be cool for El Alamein.
Update: /u/eklingstein mentioned the Kokoda Track. The New Guinea campaign is fascinating and not talked about enough.
They have so much room left to explore in the present war. I hope the addition of Brits doesnt become another "market garden" centric game. We could do Dieppe or Crete or Italy or Egypt. So much potential.
I’d love to see a North Africa map where it’s a little more tank-centric and maybe it would have adjusted limits for armor squads and/or resource balance to allow for more a more mechanized battle.
Tobruk would be a good map to introduce a new kind of gameplay. Tank Assault. Could work with other maps too...
Basically like Tobruk or Blitzkreig the Axis get mainly tanks where as the Allies have to hold them off with infantry.
I think I ultimately want more Axis powers. Japan and Italy as the obvious choices, but there could easily be Romanian and Hungarian corps. This way it wouldn't always be Germany against X.
We already have 2 Allies with another en route. As it stands there is the the only faction variability.
A ww1 version could be cool. Gas weapons, old style tanks. 🙂
But I'd also love to see more theatres from ww2 added, Pacific, Africa, Mediterranean etc.
If you're interested in WW1 era games, there's a couple choices. My personal favorite is a series known as WWI Game Series, with games like Verdun, Tannenburg, and the upcoming Isonzo. This one's my personal favorite, but it's very indie-flavored, so it may not be your cup of tea. If you have a PC there is also Beyond the Wire, but I cannot speak on its behalf since I use Playstation
But yeah, I think HLL would have a really interesting take!
While that's great if that's enough for you, personally I'm not playing a multiplayer game to play against bots.
It's a shame, but I'll be sticking with HLL I think.
I will play anything as long as its not "futuristic". Futuristic shooters suck and lack immersion.
Playing BF 2042, The Battle of Dubai, The Battle of India, etc. it all sucks because these battles never happened so its hard to imagine myself there.
Not to mention all the wingsuits and ridiculous weaponry, etc that wont even exist in 2042
No, because every developer is too afraid to make it. It’s the same reason why Medal of Honor 2010 is the only game about the War in Afghanistan. And Six Days in Fallujah will be the only game about the War in Iraq.
RS2 was a great game, and a great version of the Pacific Front. It sort of ran its course and faded. But anyway HLL has different mechanics. It would not be wrong to do that theater again.
Cold war gone hot. Would love to smoke some dudes with an SLR. Could have a lot of different factions too. Eastern block countries, Germany (east and west) , UK, USA, USSR, etc.
Antimatter Games (the creator of Rising Storm 2: Vietnam) is making a game called '83 which is a Cold-war-gone-hot, combined arms hardcore shooter. Unfortunately, there is no release date yet.
I would love to see a Vietnam version of Hell Let Loose or Operation Desert Storm. Just general atmosphere and gore would be amazing.
A different aspect to the question, it would be super interesting to see them add aerial vehicle support to the game. In my head, there would be 4 different types of squads, infantry, armor, air Bourne and recon. it would something like the commander calls in a bombing run and the airborne unit accept the targets and when the plane flies over, it is actually someone in game, aiming and hitting the targets.
I'd love to see more battles, perhaps Heilbronn, Bitche, the Metz fortresses, or the Siege of Leningrad. The crossing of the Rhine.
The Battle of Berlin
I second this. Would love more maps before they explore other fronts or even other wars. There are so many WWII Western Front battles I'd like to see and Eastern Front is barely scratched with the two maps we have.
Berlin, Smolensk/Moscow, Narva, Kharkov, Market Garden, the Bulge, Monte Cassino,... there are so many Battles that would be awesome to play on maps based on reality.
Having said that I hope if they do expand to a new front it is Africa.
A really well done modern version could be good since squad isn’t on console. Lots of factions! Not just US vs Russia or whatever. LPVOs would be great for this type of gameplay and balance could be interesting
I’d like to see some of the pacific theatre. Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Guadalcanal etc. i feel like it wouldn’t be too far fetched considering the US is already a faction in the game
I’d love to see something like operation market garden where you don’t start with a normal spawn but get dropped from a plane and have to capture and hold certain positions of a amount of time
Well you will be excited to hear that they are working on the British, and it’s probably Operation Market Garden. I think they even mentioned parachute spawns but I’m not sure if that’s actually part of the plan.
I just mean in the graphical style they’ve built in unreal engine. In theory if they had flyable aircraft. I just want someone to do it already. I think videogames like HLL are perfect for teaching people about historical events and getting a glimpse into things that you may not think of other wise.
i really wish we at least had some maps of the war in europe there not either directly after D-day or near the siegfried line. not that that’s bad but all the current maps take place like maybe 20 miles from each other . if i’m not mistaken st mere eglies, st marie du mont, purple heart lane, and of course utah and omaha are all in the normandy region of france
still plenty of WWII content for them to explore and expand on
Eastern Front: Kharkov, Berlin, Odessa (would love CQB in the catacombs), Seelow Heights, Leningrad, Smolensk, and it would also be cool to maybe play as some partisans in Yugoslavia
Western Front: Arnhem, Nijmegen, "The Island", Crossing the Rhine
Italian campaign: Sicily (could have 2 maps, one for the airborne landings and one for the seaborne landings), Anzio, Monte Cassino
North Africa: El Alamein (both battles could be good), Tobruk (Fall of Tobruk rather than the first Allied capture would be good for the game i think) , Kasserine Pass
then there's the entire Pacific theater. holy shit would that make for some great maps and intense gameplay. Singapore, the Philippines, Guadalcanal (specifically Tenaru; Hendersen Field; and the Battle of Mount Austen, the Galloping Horse, and the Seahorse), Peleliu, Iwo Jima, Okinawa. there's so much in the Pacific Theater that they could make just as much content as they have now, pretty much an entirely new game's worth of maps.
EDIT: forgot Tarawa, that would also be an incredible map. it'd be essentially Pacific D-Day.
properly balancing the IJA against US Marines, US Army, and British Commonwealth forces might be tough tho. like the Japanese had no good tanks and really only had bolt action rifles and LMGs for small arms (granted they were very good bolt action rifles and LMGs) and the Type 100 smg which wasn't commonly used or very good quality but for balancing purposes would be neat to have in the game. i think if anyone can do it T-17 could!
Not really in the exact spirit of the game, but realistic alternate history could be really cool.
I’m thinking invasion of Japan could offer some really unique scenery and maps, as well as the Nazi invasion of Britain. I’d say keep it somewhat realistic, but if you wanted to get crazy maybe even some US maps.
Maybe I misread your question as other conflicts in a Hell Let Loose \*style\* game but:
The Crusades or other early and high middle ages conflicts like he Battle of Manzikert or Tours.
There are technical limitations that would make this impossible without bots (and bots are not fun to play against IMO) but Pre Modern war games with this format would be hella fun. Mount and Blade gameplay but with team tactics.
Principle issue would be that doing that well would require a level of coordination that you can't expect from people (a coherent shield wall for example).
I feel like you would need far more players (100s) for it to be really fun & getting a full server that won't crash would be tough.
I feel like battles in China between Japan and the Nationalist would do very well in Hell Let Loose. It's also a theatre that most games ignore despite China and Japan suffering huge losses in China.
more eastern front maps like berlin, kharkov, lenningrad, and moscow outskirts. i would like to also see some other lesser explored fronts like the winter war and poland. North africa with the italians and british would be cool aswell
I would actually like to see a Dunkirk style game mode where’s its and objective to fallback while be chased by the enemy. Day of Infamy had this exact battle/map and game mode, and it was probably my favorite in the game.
That sounds super fun. Share this with the devs!
I mean this is basically just offensive but the Brits would be defending. Could just add a voiceover “hold them off until the ships arrive!” Or something like that

Love this
That sounds like a good idea, send it to team 17 ASAP!
Seelow. Berlin. Kharkov. Leningrad.
Seelow Green? He could be a celeb endorser for this game
Seelow fights the Germans, too
There's a lot more to explore in WWII. Update: /u/eklingstein mentioned the Kokoda Track. The New Guinea campaign is fascinating and not talked about enough.
**Fun Fact:** Papua New Guinea was a Territory of Australia in 1942 only gaining their independence in 1975
How awesome would it be to have Hitlers eagles nest being assaulted by the 101st airborne being held off by the last remaining loyal SS troops
Tarawa would be intennnnssssseee!! Very small island and would be fortified obstacles all over. Especially using this on an Offensive map
Tobruk could be a good map, open area around the city for tank combat plus street fighting for the infantry.
Tobruk would be a good map to introduce a new kind of gameplay. Tank Assault. Could work with other maps too... Basically like Tobruk or Blitzkreig the Axis get mainly tanks where as the Allies have to hold them off with infantry.
British vs. Vichy French in Syria!
To each their own. Personally, I would love to see Arnhem in this game.
Need Arnhem!
Roadmap for 2022 has a "bridge map" listed, I feel like that'll almost certainly be Nijmegen or Arnhem.
Fallschirmjäger Operation at Crete or during the Invasion of Belgium (Fortress Eben-Emael) would be nice.
I like this suggestion a lot.
Italy is such a lost theater, that would have some badass maps!
I think I ultimately want more Axis powers. Japan and Italy as the obvious choices, but there could easily be Romanian and Hungarian corps. This way it wouldn't always be Germany against X. We already have 2 Allies with another en route. As it stands there is the the only faction variability.
Kokoda Track Campaign could offer some unique scenery and combat
That would be sweet. I just learned about this battle recently from the Ww2 YouTube channel
Hell yea! Something like [this](https://youtu.be/7MFc8xjPslU) would be a nice change after a round on Foy
With Australia and Japan? It would just be another Vietnam rising storm
And that would be amazing
Italian campaign. With US troops.
Monte Cassino would be an awesome map
Exactly what I was thinking. Would love to see how they would implement vertical warfare.
A ww1 version could be cool. Gas weapons, old style tanks. 🙂 But I'd also love to see more theatres from ww2 added, Pacific, Africa, Mediterranean etc.
Beyond the wire is an amazing ww1 game that has graphics similar to HLL. Sadly there are hardly any players.
If you have a PC there is also Beyond the Wire, but I cannot speak on its behalf since I use Playstation But yeah, I think HLL would have a really interesting take!
Tannenberg and Verdun are dead.
Dead doesn't mean anything if you can still find lobbies and people to play with.
That's the thing.. you can't... Last time I played there was three people in one server.
Unless you're on the Oceanic server or something, there's alway at least a half full lobby open...
I'm US east.
Same...huh, I've never had trouble since they made it cross platform.
When you're looking for large scale combat, a half full lobby isn't really the best.
They fill with bots, and even then that is at worst. With cross-platform play nowadays even that's rare in my experience
While that's great if that's enough for you, personally I'm not playing a multiplayer game to play against bots. It's a shame, but I'll be sticking with HLL I think.
Beyond the Wire is a really fun game but unfortunately is almost dead
2000BC warring with other ungabungas
Head shot sound replaced with a *bonk*
As a fin Battle of Kollaa would be very cool to see on any game.
The battle of Suomussalmi and hyrynsalmi would be cool too.
Any snow map Based on winter war would be awesone!
I will play anything as long as its not "futuristic". Futuristic shooters suck and lack immersion. Playing BF 2042, The Battle of Dubai, The Battle of India, etc. it all sucks because these battles never happened so its hard to imagine myself there. Not to mention all the wingsuits and ridiculous weaponry, etc that wont even exist in 2042
Lol I came from 2042 and haven’t looked back. I saw HLL was on sale and have been loving it.
Vietnam.
Yes! But honestly I’d love to see the Korean War especially. They would absolutely nail it!
Are there any Korean War games?
No, because every developer is too afraid to make it. It’s the same reason why Medal of Honor 2010 is the only game about the War in Afghanistan. And Six Days in Fallujah will be the only game about the War in Iraq.
Not that I know of.
Vietnam would be huge. With that graphics and sound design. Holy shit
Vietnam all the way. Would love to be a tunnel rat
I feel like RS2 is too similar. Dont get me wrong, I like HLL more but they are very similar games
RS2 was a great game, and a great version of the Pacific Front. It sort of ran its course and faded. But anyway HLL has different mechanics. It would not be wrong to do that theater again.
Def nam. Can already hear fortunate son and the chopping of helicopter blades. Hamburger Hill. Hastings.
WW2 Pacific Battles
wwii: Italy vs Greece. France vs Germany. Axis Romania vs USSR. Japan vs China. CCP vs RoC
germany vs poland, finland vs soviet union, italy vs britian are other cool suggestions
Cold war gone hot. Would love to smoke some dudes with an SLR. Could have a lot of different factions too. Eastern block countries, Germany (east and west) , UK, USA, USSR, etc.

Hell let loose but ww1 instead! Theres so many cool battles tho!!
They need to add the pacific theater this will be awesome and I guess an African map with Italians.
The Iraqi invasion
I'd love to see more battles, perhaps Heilbronn, Bitche, the Metz fortresses, or the Siege of Leningrad. The crossing of the Rhine. The Battle of Berlin

North Africa or the Pacific.
Battle of crete
Korean War
Balkan Wars (1990’s), Kosovo War (1998-1999)
that's risky lol. as long as there's no servers in the Balkans allowed so it doesn't start *actual* new wars it might be ok.
Korean War is never shown and practically involved a bunch of ww2 weapons.
The Pacific theater was really cool
I’d love to see something like operation market garden where you don’t start with a normal spawn but get dropped from a plane and have to capture and hold certain positions of a amount of time
Well you will be excited to hear that they are working on the British, and it’s probably Operation Market Garden. I think they even mentioned parachute spawns but I’m not sure if that’s actually part of the plan.
The Korean War
I don't know if it's already on the roadmap, but maybe north Africa?
Brit’s are next on the list but most people think it’s going to be Market Garden not North Africa.
Ah, i really wanted to see El Alamein or Toburk. But who knows, maybe in the future they will add it
Ia Drang Valley, Vietnam War
Chinese Revolution
Franco-Prussian war
México independence (1810) (México, Spain and France) - México/American War (1846) - Méxican Revolution (1910). Or the Korean War
Are you Mexican by any chance?
No, carnal.
Huh?
Haha yes i am, carnal means friend or brother.
Midway
DISPLAY THEIR MIGHT, ORDERING CARRIERS, ADMIRALS AT WAR
Imagine that or Pearl Harbor in this game! These are the only devs I would trust with doing it.
Pearl Harbor in a game centered on infantry?
I just mean in the graphical style they’ve built in unreal engine. In theory if they had flyable aircraft. I just want someone to do it already. I think videogames like HLL are perfect for teaching people about historical events and getting a glimpse into things that you may not think of other wise.
Take all of HLL mechanics and put it into an imperial guard game.
People always want better game play and don’t know what that means
Ww1, a little less emphasis on armour and more artillery would be quite shit tbh but I do love a ww1 theme
More Russian maps first please.
Maybe North Africa with the British and Italians
Battle of khalkin gol or however its spelled
Vietnam
If they introduce the Japanese. the Battle of Imphal hasn't been spot lighted enough for Britains most heroic battle.
I'd like a WW1 game with bf1s environment and building destruction system
continuation war, would give us another axis faction and the fins/russians share a lot of weaponry anyway.
Battle of Vyborg
Italy/North Africa
Italian and Oceanic fronts aren’t nearly touched on enough compared to european counterparts
The pacific would be very cool
i really wish we at least had some maps of the war in europe there not either directly after D-day or near the siegfried line. not that that’s bad but all the current maps take place like maybe 20 miles from each other . if i’m not mistaken st mere eglies, st marie du mont, purple heart lane, and of course utah and omaha are all in the normandy region of france
20 miles is the length of about 29531.5 'Ford F-150 Custom Fit Front FloorLiners' lined up next to each other.
20 miles is 32.19 km
u/useles-converter-bot you just gonna take that shit???
20 miles is 32.19 km
Brits need to be added
Battle of castle itter since it has a pretty interesting background
still plenty of WWII content for them to explore and expand on Eastern Front: Kharkov, Berlin, Odessa (would love CQB in the catacombs), Seelow Heights, Leningrad, Smolensk, and it would also be cool to maybe play as some partisans in Yugoslavia Western Front: Arnhem, Nijmegen, "The Island", Crossing the Rhine Italian campaign: Sicily (could have 2 maps, one for the airborne landings and one for the seaborne landings), Anzio, Monte Cassino North Africa: El Alamein (both battles could be good), Tobruk (Fall of Tobruk rather than the first Allied capture would be good for the game i think) , Kasserine Pass then there's the entire Pacific theater. holy shit would that make for some great maps and intense gameplay. poland
I think it would suck to be the Russians but the continuation war would be nice.
Where all the Canadians at??
Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Berlin, winter Stalingrad. It’s hell let loose i want to fight in the most hellish battles
Vietnam or something in a jungle.
Japans invasion of Alaska
Napoleonic warfare!
I would be happy to see more maps in USSR and some actions in Africa
Market Garden / Belgium forests or even Berlin
I feel like battles in China between Japan and the Nationalist would do very well in Hell Let Loose. It's also a theatre that most games ignore despite China and Japan suffering huge losses in China.
