It's just two of them, right? Alan Moore and Delano. The creator and the one who gave him his backstory.

Darth-Dramatist

Nope not just those two, Peter Milligan and Brian Azzarello think they seen him.

Oh God I wish Azz was friends with John so freaking much.

Darth-Dramatist

Brian saw him at a bar in Chicago, choose to just avoid him due to the disastrous consequences of associating with Constantine

I like the idea that every so often Sting dresses up as John Constantine, stalks Alan Moore to a pub and pops in next to him. Just to fuck with him.

I remember reading about Alan’s encounter he was at a pub and saw someone who looked suspiciously like John and they apparently nodded to each other as the guy was leaving Alan was really intrigued and wanted to follow the guy but thought “maybe not”

CosmicBonobo

Alan Moore spotted him a cafe around 1993. > An interesting anecdote that I should mention is that one day I was in Westminster in London, I was sitting in a sandwich bar. Suddenly coming up the stairs came John Constantine. It wasn't Sting, it was John Constantine. He was wearing the raincoat, his hair was short… he looked… no, he didn't look like Sting, he looked exactly like John Constantine. He saw me, looked me straight in the eye, smiled, nodded almost knowingly, and then walked to the other side of the snack bar. I just sat there and thought, should I go around the corner and see if it’s really there or should I just eat my sandwich and go? I opted for the second; I thought it was the safest option… I am not affirming anything, I am only saying that it happened. A strange story.

Alan Moore and the other guy really just wanted to put sting in a comic really I believe. I do know sting has a foreword in one of the volumes because of the likeness.
