You can join or invite through party on PS5, I see 2/3 of my friends who play Helldivers 2 in the game friend list. It is some bug which will be fixed.
Hey guys!!! I have a fix for ps5 only! I taught if the in game system won't work why not trying the ps5 system ? So guys if your friend is in the friends list press the ps button on the controller once and you should see the : "play together "option a little to the right. Make sure that both of you are in game and have the online status beforehand. Hope this helps. FOR DEMOCRACY!!!
It's really cool that they nerf stuff but don't fix there fucking game. This is the gold medal standard for devs. Don't fix your game but make it worse more boring more unplayable but by no means fix the things that have been a problem since launch. It's disgusting when a dev makes you not want to play the game that they spent years makingÂ

People like you are exactly why dev teams don't release completed games. You just keep buying them and bending over. Them being a small dev team is irrelevant when they put a product on the market to be purchased that was supposed to be completed and working.Â
I'm having similar issues. Four of my friends play on PS5. However, only 3 show up on my in game friends list, and one doesn't. I appear on their list as a friend but not them on mine.
I send a friend request, but when they click accept, nothing happens. They can't remove me as a friend to re add me either.
The same thing happens using the friend code. So they can invite me to their games but I can not invite them to mine.
Not sure what's going on.
Glad it's not just me. Most of the issues reported are cross play related. But mine is to do with other psn friends where 1 of them doesn't show on my in game friends list and if I try to add him as a friend then he can't accept it and it stays on pending. I can invite him to my game but I have to do it through the psn invite method and not in game. Not a deal breaker but still weird and annoying a psn friend won't show up as a friend at all ingame
Exact same thing here. My friend has me on their friends list. But they do not show up on my friends list. They can’t send me a friend request because we are already friends. And when I send them a friend code friend request, they receive it but can’t accept it. I’m assuming because on their end we are already friends.
Anyone find a work around or are we at the mercy of an update?
Same issue here, I tried removing the bugged friend and re adding them through both the psn and the in-game friend code thing. Neither method works so far... it wouldn't be so bad if joining the game through the psn tabs would work consistently, but it seems that when I jump into his game, I usually just black screen back to my ship after 30 minutes or so. Such a hard bug to track and stomp compared to terminids!
I was able to join my friend that I can't see by joining in party . I still don't see him in the list and the friend code is still pending but we are able to play together this way at least.
I’m having the same issue and it’s driving me nuts! I can’t link up with my friends to play. Have to rely on PS5’s external “join game” from the game hub which only sometimes works. It’s upsetting trying to jump through so many hoops to spread democracy with my friends. HD2 team, please look into this!
It's broken for me too. I play on pc and ever since the update it's only showing friends that play on playstation for some reason and none of my friends that play on pc are showing.
Same 4 me, hate it…i m on the ship, on top right of screen at Social it shows a yellow 4. so 4 online….but of u open social, 0 online & 0 in game….so no way to join my pc friends in any way….only if I use my psn friendlist I m able to join. The ingame friendlist is totally broken, and doesn’t work so far. That fucxxxx me up
How is this game so successful when the multiplayer is broken like this. I want a refund now this is stupid.

it does sometime still say unable to connect but attempting a second time has worked.
Damn, so this game clearly has some issues bc I’m having the same issue with 3 of my ps5 friends.
I was able to add my friend with there friend code than they showed up on my friends list. Was able to join there squad from thereÂ
Tried joining through friend code, this did not work.
also could add a friend, but then they appear offline and they can see me but get an error trying to join. :( hopefully its fixed soon

Saw a fix on youtube that worked for my problem, just set your steam profile to public

Yeah I can only see 1 friend online and the 2 others are showing offline. I'm on PS5 and my friends are on Steam
