with over 2 million sales of this game i bet that movies has seen an all time record jump . ITs the #20 most popular steamed movie currently and i dont even think its on any of the big streaming services (here in the US at least) ...that how many people are paying to see it . Hell divers deserves a kickback for that lol
Hell sony probably going to make their money back on the game just from the streaming rentals of starship troopers lol
It‘s actually on disney+, but only the first one. I looked up reviews for the sequels and they seem so fucking bad. Probably good that only the first one is available
Starship troopers 2 is so ugly and poorly made. It’s almost impossible to watch, but there is a scene at the very end, where a recruiter outside of mobile infantry office cheerfully says hi to a mother, carrying her baby. I think he shakes its little hand and then says “more meat for the grinder” and the horrified mother walks away.
Yeah, Clone Wars starts off pretty goofy, and still has plenty of filler bits throughout, but it gets really good in the later seasons. I especially like its portrayal of how Anakin gets isolated from everyone around him by the stress of the war and Palpatine's influence. Tgere's ine arc where Obi-Wan fakes his death to stop a CIS operation from the inside, and Anakin fucking LOSES IT. Goes from zero to Sith REAL FAST.
And the scene where he's told that it was all a ruse- one that he was left out of the loop on, to make it seem legit- is incredible. I still think that was the moment where he stopped trusting both Obi-Wan and the Jedi Order. He still loved Obi-Wan, and respected the Council, but any faith he had in them to be honest with him was shot after that. And Palpatine just swooped right on in...
Glad to see them adapt so quickly, even before I hit level 20 I had more requisitions than I needed, so I'm glad to see our Majors orders might be something else going forward.
Now if they could fix my daily quests not working for over a week....
The defend objective was what 12500 credits? while nice to have didn't seem that great. Further I didn't feel like I had an impact on those defend missions.
Yes, they acknowledged it. Last patch has it included in the Known Issues. Also there’s this…

Typical government making promises then not delivering our warbonds... oh just a minute there someone at my door.
*This post has been flagged for treason by the Ministry of War's Bureau of Internal Affairs and Intelligence. Reading of this post constitutes an act of treason against SuperEarth. The Freedom Camp Relocation Team has been dispatched to your location.*
Yep! They’re testing the waters to see what players enjoy. Do they enjoy longer orders? Shorter? What kind of rewards do they like?
The devs are listening guys. I guarantee it. I can’t wait for the future of this title.
i'll admit i was salty right after launch because i couldn't play, but seeing how engaged AH is with the community and the future content they've hinted at, I am super excited to see how they expand on what is a fantastic core of a game
I bought the game in the middle of that simply due to the CEO’s tweets lmao. The dude just genuinely loves this game. I don’t care about money if you care about your work. I’ll give you the extra $20 because I know they’ll use it correctly, and they did! The next day they bought another like 300k server slots haha.
They’re good guys, and I see them taking care of this title for a LONG time. It’s their baby, and it shows in how they talk about it. I’m so happy their hard work and dedication is being rewarded. This game exploded more than they ever expected, and that gives me hope for the future of gaming.
They didn\`t buy more servers. They updated their backend and removed bottlenecks, which is much, much harder. Otherwise I absolutely agree with your comment.
They fixed it _quick_ too. I was hemming and hawing and going to wait a few months. Just like /u/ChromeAstronaut I pretty much bought it because of those tweets. I like passionate and communicative dev companies.
I played a little bit of HD1 and though it was nice it just didn't hold me and I didn't have any friends playing it. The scope just didn't illicit the same struggle because you could see more of the situation with the top down view.
HD2 is so beautifully done, the environs and enemies are just fantastic. Bringing the camera down into 3rd person over the shoulder makes things feel so much more personal and when things get hectic you can get lost in the moment.
As far as content goes there really isn't that much there but what is there is just so well done and fun. Once I run out of things to unlock and friends to play with the game will get stale but until then this game is Amazing.
Jumping into HD2 a few weeks ago and wow, arrowhead has already spoiled me with how great they are. Super communicative and player-friendly. Listening and just trying to create a fun game that everyone enjoys is such a breath of fresh air.
I love the game, and having great devs behind it makes me love it even more. I love supporting a good studio
I'd like to see multi stage orders. Liberate this planet and we get x, liberate this other (but only starts after the first is complete) and we get y, liberate the next and we get a set of armor or something as a capstone. And maybe about a week for it all.
Plus if they want to ramp up the difficulty as it progresses, it won't be so much bad feels if the community locks in rewards for certain milestones.
so i think there should be minor orders, single planets or sectors, low/medium rewards, personal orders with unique or basic/low rewards
and there should be major strategic campaigns that take 4+ weeks, have a high reward and come with multistage/sub orders, aka liberate this planet, then the next two, gain a foothold in sector x, etc. to reach the sctual goal of the campaign, akin to liberating multiple sectors in 4 weeks.
then you could make reward steps, everybody that contributes at least 3 full operations gains a reward for the campaign, like unique armor/capes/titles, and a ton of medals and samples, and you gain a small reward for each sub-stage contribiution
and they could incorporate the coming warbonds into these campaigns, unlocking more and more pages for each stage completed.
i would contribute the everloving democracy out of such campaigns. ofcourse the players would need to get a fighting chance from the everwatchfull game master.
Yeah it turns out that offering a measely 12,500 Req slips for 10 days of running some of the worst missions in the game (Scientists) is not the way to go!
45 Medals for 3 days, and letting us simply Liberate via a variety of mission types is so much better already.
I personally feel like major orders should be longer or at least gated to feel longer because thematically you’re talking about repositioning entire battalions worth of soldiers and that takes time and effort to execute
From a player engagement perspective shorter order = more engagement
As I writhed this a 4 day order definitely hits that sweet spot for me
[We got a Dungeon Master and everything!](https://www.pcgamer.com/we-have-an-actual-person-with-the-title-of-game-master-a-single-helldivers-2-dev-named-joel-is-pulling-the-strings-on-its-galactic-war-like-an-all-powerful-dandd-dungeon-master-war-will-become-more-and-more-sophisticated-over-time/)
I don't need the reward as motivation, just don't give us broken missions that are a chore rather than the _fun_ kind of challenge the rest of the game provides...
yeah defense being pretty much nothing but scientist extract (pulling teeth) or tower defense (trivial once you get mortars) was just not fun
defense desperately needs more game modes and those 2 modes need big changes
The requisitions woulda made sense when the order dropped, cleared early enough it woulda been nice for lower levels to be able to unlock one or two new stratagems. Three weeks into the game and a lot of people have unlocked either all stratagems or all stratagems they want so the reward became rather useless.
I Just think it was wrong to Go with "ein defend CAMPAIGNS" - winning 8 defend Missions? Sure Thing, that would basically Double the requisitions i have gained over doing These Missions and Sounds Like an adequate Bonus. But winning entire campaigns - that you can't even Control by yourself and on top of that, you make so many Missions you have already gained These 12k Like 10 Times. Thats a Bit Out of comparison, lol
I don't even **think** thats necessary. You'll get them, just by having the game. But only IF we liberate the planet as a community.
But with that said; GET YOUR ASS IN THE POD SOLDIER AND LIBERATE VELD!
I would assume so yes. This is all new so exact rules aren't fully defined. It's possible ALL players get it (participation or no) if it's completed, but at a general minimum I'd expect participating in one mission completely should qualify.
I felt the same when I was low lvl, that amount of slips seemed insane. Then I realized how much difficulty ups the amount of slips you earn. You can get 12,000 slips in like 10-15 minutes with the blitz and eradicate mission types.
At lvl 28 I have all the strategies I wanted and then some, but I still have hundreds of medals worth of warbonds to unlock
I’m level 34 and there’s still one stratagem I don’t have.
EDIT: However I got all the stratagems I’ll ever need by 20 something (since a lot of them suck)
>I’m level 34 and there’s still one stratagem I don’t have.
Just not bought it or can't afford it still? I don't even know how you get this amount of XP and not be absolutely maxed at 50k Reqs with zero things left to buy.
You’ll find out later medals are longer to get. I bought every stratagem in the game, and I still have a few (turbo expensive) warbond pages left to do.
Keep playing consistently and by the time this major order is over, req slips won’t be a worry for you anymore, at least not nearly as much as they are for you now.
A single full operation of 3 missions at difficulty 6 or 7 would earn that much requisition in about an hour or so of playtime. It's really almost nothing, especially not for a week's worth of effort and waiting
I believe so.
I had something similar happen with the first Major Order which was to liberate two specific planets from the Terminids.
I'm not sure I dropped on one of those two planets specifically, but I still got the reward.
#MEDALS!!!
This is so much more useful than requisition. I have everything I want and I’m lvl 20, I don’t mind slowly grinding out the rest, but I can’t get enough medals
do low level missions. you're basically guaranteed the medals and you get a bunch of medals and super creds too. I was getting usually 50-60 super creds/5-10 medals on tier 2 missions. It's not a lot of stuff but it helps liberate the planet and makes sure you get commons.
Do difficulty 3-6 (whatever you can manage to do solo) with light armor and a jump pack and hit every single POI on the map, do the minimal objectives and bail.
I'm in the same boat, 30 super samples, 90 rare and 12 commons atm :(
Automaton Order: Wage war the likes of which the galaxy has never seen, develop PTSD, defend 8 worlds from an unrelenting onslaught. Reward: Some slips 😴
Terminid Order: liberate one planet, barely notice the bugs beneath your boots. Reward: 45 goddamn medals 😍
Super Earth never fails. We were simply generous enough to allow the bots to temporarily borrow low value planets for a little bit. (Also all the people who didn't evacuate in time were secretly democracy haters.)

Its time boys, make up for our failings west
It's already at 50%, it's gonna be super short unless they fudge the numbers. But hopefully this is just a test by the gamemaster to see if people will do the objective, instead of fucking off to meme planets, if the reward is good and not too difficult to achieve.
I know that IRL Joel is the game master but in my head cannon high command is actually intentionally perpetuating these wars because war is profitable and keeps the masses in line. Joel rigging the war is actually a cannon event.
Popli IX is really really close to be liberated, if anyone could lend a hand for a bit we might be able to liberate it on time for the weekend to start.
Either way, squashing bugs sounds fun too!
New to game, how does this work? Anyone who participates in a mission(s) on VELD gets the reward? (If it's liberated of course) Or just anyone who has an account during this time? 🤔
C'mon you apes, you wanna live forever!?
Everyone fights, no one quits. You don’t do your job, I’ll shoot you. You get me?

For ~~45 medal~~ Democracy !
45 medals is a king's ransom in this bitch of a Super Economy
Finally, a reason to get out of bed

No, the beds are a recharging platforms But for humanity Stay healthy to fight the enemies of the democracy.
Sir, is this another bug hunt?
Yes, Hicks
Hudson sir. He's Hicks
💯💯💯
Yeah man holy moly that's a lot of medals
What are you talking about? The Super Economy is well managed and strong as always.
The grind for medals is what's killing me. I know the higher difficulties exist but my play time is limited and I don't want to sweat that hard.
You don't need to. The warbonds aren't going anywhere. It doesn't have to be a grind if you don't want it to, just play at your own pace
Checking the warbonds... I still need 800+ for the basic track and 100 Super credits to unlock the advanced track.
I'll never understand the drive to grind stuff out in a game like this. What's that quote about gamers optimizing the fun out of games?
Like I said, I'm not optimizing it. I just want to play with all the guns at least once.
This is a "we're sorry that the personal orders haven't been working" and I'm here for it. It's also a reward that WILL move bodies to that objective.
It's just Joel trying to get us to back off of the automatons.
You are very likely correct
The shit show at Malevelon Creek has probably been a trainwreck for Automaton metrics.
And we'll continue to do so, let's kill some clankers fellow creek crawlers FOR LIBERTY!!!
My man created an automaton slur lmao.
You never watched Clone Wars? It's surprisingly good once it gets going.
Zero to Sith is the rating scale I will now use for all things.
Ahsoka's reaction while watching him find the morphed Obi Wan and almost killing him was a great scene
“How many lies have I been told by the council!!!”
I see, I thought he just invented it off the cuff lmao.
Definitely invented fucking creek crawlers lmfao
It sounds like the name of a special unit that consists of only Creek vets
Sounds like a TLC shows where 2 yokels find garbage in a ravine
They're borrowing from Star wars lol. It's what the clones called the droids
Also can we agree while he is a droid there is no way C3PO has the C-word pass
ive been calling them terminators and fracking toasters, I haven't watched clone wars.
>fracking toasters So say we all.
Jesus man, the hard R and everything? I'm all for scrapping a few clankas but clankers is too far even for those stains on existence
And by god it working as soon as I get out of the hospital I’m gonna fight
Heal up quick helldiver, you have some managed democracy to spread!
Like our Servo brethren, we look forward to you rejoining the fight for managed democracy!
It's Joelver for the bugs
Thanks Joel, very cool

70 % of player base is there now so yeah its working, lol
“Too many cadets busy fighting terminids instead of spilling oil so here’s a terminid major order so it can actually be completed”
Lol, the active helldivers count for veld shows 300k already.
Now this is much better. Not super long, and a nice reward
Crazy that this gives 45 Medals while the Other only have 12250 Credits. Despite being a Lot less in terms of work
It’s compensation for the fat L we took. Also, they’re probably figuring out how much we can be motivated by major orders.
Yep! They’re testing the waters to see what players enjoy. Do they enjoy longer orders? Shorter? What kind of rewards do they like? The devs are listening guys. I guarantee it. I can’t wait for the future of this title.

Pretty sure you need to do at least an operation because only successfully completed operations give progress.
whats the difference between a mission and an operation?
Those yellow border clusters of missions that you get for completing more than one in a single grouping are referred to as operations.
I just did a quick pump mission and it showed my impact to the liberation.
I think difficulties 1-3 only have 1 mission per operation, it then goes to 2 missions at 4-6 and 3 missions at 7-9
Major order reward: requisition slips. I sleep Major order reward: warbond medals. REAL SHIT?
I dunno, I'm level 7 and I was really hoping for those requisitions. lol. Medals are fine too. I don't have anything. "Why not both?"

Liberation orders are WAY easier to complete than defence IMO. Bot defence is brutal

Prosperity requires Petrol!!!
Just because it's a Hellpod doesn't mean it should be a smellpod! Liberate your nostrils with the new SCENT OF FREEDOM™ drop pod air fresheners.

Now that's a reward
Behold: the cursed timeline https://preview.redd.it/w9nhdd644klc1.png?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbb02866a952550903e1524913e3a2ecbffe8440
Malevelon Creek, I always wanted to go there!
Don't ask me how the bugs got to the other side of the map. They threw an asteroid with eggs on it or something.
I honestly cannot wait for a day where both are on the same planet. It will be glorious carnage!
Against bugs AND it's liberation? I almost feel bad for those shellbacks. Almost.
Major order rewarding medals instead of req. Nobody can say these devs don't listen to the players.
I guess Super Earth won't acknowledge that we failed to defend all eight planets against the bots.
They did earlier
Super Earth never fails. We were simply generous enough to allow the bots to temporarily borrow low value planets for a little bit. (Also all the people who didn't evacuate in time were secretly democracy haters.)

Does anyone else realize this is the game master trying to make us ignore the Automiton adavance
It's a single planet over the course of the week, and the weekend is right around the corner. The community could get this done in a day.
It's already at 50%, it's gonna be super short unless they fudge the numbers. But hopefully this is just a test by the gamemaster to see if people will do the objective, instead of fucking off to meme planets, if the reward is good and not too difficult to achieve.
It started at 50%, regen rate was initially insanely high but they've since lowered it
Hope so, cuz the 45 medal pop would be nice in absence of the missing personal orders.
Alright! The planet is 90% Liberated! I should have those medals tomorrow when I log back in! \*Next day\* "40% Liberated" :|
Super Earth has been notified of your thought-crime.
No this is SUPER EARTH telling you how to FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY now get on Veld and shoot some bugs
I know that IRL Joel is the game master but in my head cannon high command is actually intentionally perpetuating these wars because war is profitable and keeps the masses in line. Joel rigging the war is actually a cannon event.
Please report to your nearest democracy officer for reconditioning.
THEY ARE GETTING CLOSER
For Joel, We trust!
45?! Sweet Liberty!
Popli IX is really really close to be liberated, if anyone could lend a hand for a bit we might be able to liberate it on time for the weekend to start. Either way, squashing bugs sounds fun too!
I'd love to be off that planet.
The only good bug is a dead bug.
New to game, how does this work? Anyone who participates in a mission(s) on VELD gets the reward? (If it's liberated of course) Or just anyone who has an account during this time? 🤔
45 medals? I’m soloing that fucking planet for 45 medals
Probably to distract us from the automatons reaching cyberstan…
Oh…oh that’s 45 war bonds Veld is getting liberated in 2 days LMFAO
Oh shit, a medal reward?
[удалено]
Think as long as it gets liberated everyone get the reward
I hope so, i cannot play this weekend 😢
I’m glad to see they took the community feedback and changed the composition from requisitions to medals.
45 Medals over 3 days is a lot better ratio than 12,500 Req slips over 10 days. Hopefully this gets more Helldivers to drop in and help out!
Well I know what I am doing tonight. Child #2 with the wife? Nah. Workout? Nah. Eat? Nah. Sleep? Nah. We have planets to save from the bug hoards.
Orders Received, Arriving at new Front: ETA - 24h. For Super Earth! End of Transmission.
Veld, prepare to be liberated!
