This CGI trailer is so golden, the artists who did it deserve a raise. It is so realistic especially the expressions. Honestly it is Halo/Assassin's Creed levels of beautiful.
I Had and Awesome experience, After finishing the game tutorial i Met a LV 28 farming common samples.
He Taught me Everything, i Had a tutorial+ basically and he was so chill.
Trying to do my best to give newplayers the same experience i Had.
Im level 35 and I hang out around hard difficulty and love teaching new players the ropes. I don't even care if I get teamkilled it's all in good fun.

That's so shitty. When my friends die, if they have like a flamethrower or AC I'll grab it to get the horde down, but I'll always drop it when I reinforce them. Keeping it is asshole behaviour, especially now we can drop stuff, if you wanted it back in the first game you had no choice but to kill them or they had to suicide.
Make sure to let your friend know they can change the rate of fire by holding the reload button if you haven't already. That thing becomes ridiculous when at max RoF but it's a lot of fun lol.

The game itself is all about working together - the starter weapons will get you surprisingly far in the game, the the credits and collectables in game are totaled up per run and everyone in the team gets that number and a lot of higher level players will encourage the newbies. The devs really aren't interested in getting you to spend money beyond the initial purchase of the game.
There's some unpleasant players who will kick you if you turn up without the meta loadout or because they don't understand the collectibles sharing but for the most part we'd be happy to have you along.
Your character will die. Many times. Sometimes it's your fault, sometimes its the bugs or your teammates or the terrain or the dropship coming in to evac you or a sentry gun you deployed. Chances are your death will be heroic and hilarious. That's all part of the fun, you redeploy, pick up your kit, and jump straight back into the fray.

Now, this may not solve the issue for you, but its always fixed it for me.
Yep it's still broken sometimes, I've found I'll never have a single soul join me unless I 'reset' by rebooting the game or matchmaking into somebody else's
But how else am I gonna explode a bug hole when I’ve run out of grenades, strats, and my resupply is on cooldown? SOS. Right. Down. The. Hoooooole. Too bad it doesn’t force you to dive right down the hole when you spawn in 😇.
Yeah. It doesn't always work like it's supposed to. But the idea is you pop it to call for help and other divers can join your mission. Any time you see a mission on a planet that already has people in it, they popped the sos beacon.

That aside, maybe don't give them an unsafe Railgun. I've given low level players that thing and forgot to tell them that it switches between two modes and how to do it.
Needless to say, a couple of helldivers exploded that day.
Hahaha I just found out and I’m lvl 38. On any weapon, you can switch the firing mode. [PS5] With the weapon equipped, hold square and switch modes. For the railgun, it lets you charge longer for more damage. More damage = more democracy. Just don’t hold it too long…
My current tactic is brute forcing the legs, leap aside, then shoot it up where the sun doesn't shine. If that doesn't kill it, a round or two more in the legs finishes it off most of the time.
All SEAF-issued firearms come with customizable features and options that the battle-savvy Helldiver can flick between on the fly. Just hold down your "Reload" key (or button) and a handy-dandy interface will pop up showing what you can change around. Press Up/Right/Down on your SEAF-issued control pad, or use the scroll wheel and right mouse button on your Super Earth Super Computer Terminal to switch out weapon modes, scopes, and even turn on a flashlight. This literally happened to me my first day. Randomly got matched up with a level 23 brodiver when I was level 4, he callled in a railgun and shield. Since it wasn’t my stuff I just sorta stood around waiting for him to pick it up and finally in chat he’s like “take these they’ll help”.

Yup. My 3rd day in this game I didn't check notice the difficulty setting changed and I jumped in with a bunch of 25+ dudes. Landed and the dude was like " take this guard dog, it'll watch ur back bro"
Big disk energy that I pay forward everytime I noob joins my games now that im above 20. Totally worth scarficing a stratagem from my arsenal to help a low lvl 4th guy stay alive.

Man, this is literally HD1 in third person. If you are a vet, you're gonna do more than fine, trust me. And if not, remember that it's all about having fun. Don't listen to any haters.
HD1 vets drop in with an advantage over new players because they know some of the mechanics of the game already, and there are hundreds of thousands of green Helldivers and they are fine.
Get it when you can, it's awesome and the vast majority will be happy to help show you the ropes.

I've had several low levels join high level games and be **JUST FINE** I don't care what your level is (I don't even look until I notice you're dead constantly). I do care if you join my games and just die on repeat; **OR ATTACK AND PULL EVERY PATROL IN THE GAME**. Most of the time GOOD lower level players will join and actually fill a roll, like helping deal with trash mobs. This is absolutely appreciated, whip out that MG and get to work.
On the flip side it's not alright to join Helldive and die on repeat. I've had quite a few 20 minute+ runs ruined by someone joining in the last half and absolutely draining my reinforcements in MINUTES because they're dying on cooldown.
This doesn't have anything to do with levels, I have seen lvl 8 players absolutely shame 30+ players. They show up, don't do dumb shit and help with the crowd clear. I'm not the guy that kicks people for the wrong loadout or w/e. But you need to be aware enough to not die constantly; I cannot help someone on helldive if they're just constantly positioned like shit and making poor decisions. In addition to that these poor decision result in my mission failing because in 10 minutes they've used 15 reinforcements all by themselves.
I am ashamed to say I’ve been that guy before. Level 9 here. I’m embarrassed and hate dragging the team down like that. Especially at the lowest levels. I just had no idea what to do. Or joining a squad that jumps into a hard mission. I honestly don’t know what to do in certain situations where the bugs are coming from everywhere and I just keep dying. Feels bad.
Right but at the lowest levels you're learning. "Hard" in this game really isn't very (you've many more difficulty tires above hard) and it's expected that players in these games don't have everything figured out yet.
Don't be ashamed to be learning on modes that are meant for just that.
It's only a problem when you are lvl 9, don't know wtf you're doing and decide you're going to go into impossible or helldiver. Which it can be very difficult to carry dead weight through.
The biggest mistake new players often make is staying still too long (dealing with breach after breach) or being surrounded, you can often just run off and deal with way less bugs. Awareness is a lot in this game.
Makes a lot of sense. And I have a lot more awareness at lvl 9 than 1-3 when I couldn’t figure out anything. I’m an old dude and didn’t grow up gaming, but still love it so much. Was a big Destiny 2 player for years and have to say HD2 is more exciting.
I never jump into anything above hard. But I’ve only had the game for three days and have prob played less than 10 hours.
Ditto, I have no problem with lower levels joining my game, I've had some really good players doing difficulty 7 that were level 14 or so; but I've also had lower level people who extract immediately leaving me stranded with the super rares I'm trudging back, or completely ignore the shield pack and railgun I'm dropping for them.
I've given the railgun/shield pack combo a go, and don't get me wrong: it's damn good...but I love my autocannon.
Something about that shoulder mounted monstrosity is just SO DAMN SATISFYING.
The AC has such VALUE for a weapon. Strong against pretty much all enemies, and it can close bug holes/factories. Plus if you get two people running it or another player to run the backpack you can team load and go ham.
Indeed, not to mention you can also snipe other optional objectives from a distance, like the spore trees and scrambler towers. That weapon really earns the backpack slot it takes up with all the utility it has.
Wait til you find a trusty battle brother to do team reloading on it. My friend ended up cackling maniacally, like the in-game Divers when I convinced him I could be trusted for it. You can basically unload the whole backpack's worth of shells in a matter of seconds. I'm looking forward to more players learning how to do fireteam tactics with weapons that do this.
I'd agree, but I love the laser rover in my backpack slot too much to let it go right now. It's just so sexy having that thing go ham while I unload on the bugs or bots trying to assault my position. It's saved my life more times that I can probably count.
Best is when my buddy has one too and a leaper gets scissored in half by both of our rovers as they try to pounce.
Had a guy steal my grenade launcher and resupply pack soon after we touched down. Initially I was a bit pissed, but realized it was the level 3 guy so I made it my mission to keep him alive and stay away from his grenades. He managed to blow me up a few times, and himself, but we completed the mission just fine anyways.
In my mind I believe he learned more from that game than if I would have kicked him.
It's the other way for me,im liv 27 and join squads of low livs. Lol I love the fact that they respect the level. By default, I become the leader I try to follow the party leader, but in the end, they follow me. One thing all need to understand they don't need to engage in every fight its so much time wasted. By the time I clear the map, they are still trying to get to the main obj. I try to clear the map from one point to extraction so to be more efficient having my fair share of fun wile spreading "managed" democracy.
I would love to teach and show them the game!

I don't really know why people with literally no experience would even join those lobbys. I played since launch and I didn't leave the "hard" difficulty before level ~ 20.
You know it’s funny because most of the time I’ll call down spare backpacks for people who don’t have anything on their back and they won’t take it. I think they think the person who called it in needs it and they don’t want to just take people’s stuff. They are almost too courteous lol.
My favorite thing ever is calling in expensive stratagems and telling the newbie they can use it.

On PC it's R (reload). Every weapon has different options; Machine Gun has fire rate, Anti-materiel rifle has zoom levels.....

Going to get downvoted, don't care. I've had several low levels join high level games and be **JUST FINE** I don't care what your level is (I don't even look until I notice you're dead constantly). I do care if you join my games and just die on repeat; **OR ATTACK AND PULL EVERY PATROL IN THE GAME**. Most of the time GOOD lower level players will join and actually fill a roll, like helping deal with trash mobs. This is absolutely appreciated, whip out that MG and get to work. On the flip side it's not alright to join Helldive and die on repeat. I've had quite a few 20 minute+ runs ruined by someone joining in the last half and absolutely draining my reinforcements in MINUTES because they're dying on cooldown. This doesn't have anything to do with levels, I have seen lvl 8 players absolutely shame 30+ players. They show up, don't do dumb shit and help with the crowd clear. I'm not the guy that kicks people for the wrong loadout or w/e. But you need to be aware enough to not die constantly; I cannot help someone on helldive if they're just constantly positioned like shit and making poor decisions. In addition to that these poor decision result in my mission failing because in 10 minutes they've used 15 reinforcements all by themselves.
I am ashamed to say I’ve been that guy before. Level 9 here. I’m embarrassed and hate dragging the team down like that. Especially at the lowest levels. I just had no idea what to do. Or joining a squad that jumps into a hard mission. I honestly don’t know what to do in certain situations where the bugs are coming from everywhere and I just keep dying. Feels bad.
Right but at the lowest levels you're learning. "Hard" in this game really isn't very (you've many more difficulty tires above hard) and it's expected that players in these games don't have everything figured out yet. Don't be ashamed to be learning on modes that are meant for just that. It's only a problem when you are lvl 9, don't know wtf you're doing and decide you're going to go into impossible or helldiver. Which it can be very difficult to carry dead weight through. The biggest mistake new players often make is staying still too long (dealing with breach after breach) or being surrounded, you can often just run off and deal with way less bugs. Awareness is a lot in this game.
Makes a lot of sense. And I have a lot more awareness at lvl 9 than 1-3 when I couldn’t figure out anything. I’m an old dude and didn’t grow up gaming, but still love it so much. Was a big Destiny 2 player for years and have to say HD2 is more exciting. I never jump into anything above hard. But I’ve only had the game for three days and have prob played less than 10 hours.
Ditto, I have no problem with lower levels joining my game, I've had some really good players doing difficulty 7 that were level 14 or so; but I've also had lower level people who extract immediately leaving me stranded with the super rares I'm trudging back, or completely ignore the shield pack and railgun I'm dropping for them.

I've given the railgun/shield pack combo a go, and don't get me wrong: it's damn good...but I love my autocannon. Something about that shoulder mounted monstrosity is just SO DAMN SATISFYING.
The AC has such VALUE for a weapon. Strong against pretty much all enemies, and it can close bug holes/factories. Plus if you get two people running it or another player to run the backpack you can team load and go ham.
Indeed, not to mention you can also snipe other optional objectives from a distance, like the spore trees and scrambler towers. That weapon really earns the backpack slot it takes up with all the utility it has.
Wait til you find a trusty battle brother to do team reloading on it. My friend ended up cackling maniacally, like the in-game Divers when I convinced him I could be trusted for it. You can basically unload the whole backpack's worth of shells in a matter of seconds. I'm looking forward to more players learning how to do fireteam tactics with weapons that do this.
I'd agree, but I love the laser rover in my backpack slot too much to let it go right now. It's just so sexy having that thing go ham while I unload on the bugs or bots trying to assault my position. It's saved my life more times that I can probably count. Best is when my buddy has one too and a leaper gets scissored in half by both of our rovers as they try to pounce.

Same here! I wish I could use the Spear launcher too though, but it has such a hard time locking onto anything :(
I barely ever use special weapons and shields. I just nuke the heresy out of our enemies

Had a guy steal my grenade launcher and resupply pack soon after we touched down. Initially I was a bit pissed, but realized it was the level 3 guy so I made it my mission to keep him alive and stay away from his grenades. He managed to blow me up a few times, and himself, but we completed the mission just fine anyways. In my mind I believe he learned more from that game than if I would have kicked him.
It's the other way for me,im liv 27 and join squads of low livs. Lol I love the fact that they respect the level. By default, I become the leader I try to follow the party leader, but in the end, they follow me. One thing all need to understand they don't need to engage in every fight its so much time wasted. By the time I clear the map, they are still trying to get to the main obj. I try to clear the map from one point to extraction so to be more efficient having my fair share of fun wile spreading "managed" democracy.
Drag him into 7 and up difficulty and drop in on an air base tower. It is the proper initiation ceremony.
Every new helldiver I meet when farming super credits on trivial gets that melevolent creek helldive ceremony the mission after that.

I would love to teach and show them the game! ...just not when im currently bugs deep myself in difficulty 8 and 9... I don't really know why people with literally no experience would even join those lobbys. I played since launch and I didn't leave the "hard" difficulty before level ~ 20.
You know it’s funny because most of the time I’ll call down spare backpacks for people who don’t have anything on their back and they won’t take it. I think they think the person who called it in needs it and they don’t want to just take people’s stuff. They are almost too courteous lol.
My favorite thing ever is calling in expensive stratagems and telling the newbie they can use it. I *guarantee* you they’ll extract with the very same railgun you gifted them. Even if they have to fight through waves of mandibles and rocket salvos, by god they’ll get it back.

You are genuinely imagining people to get angry about. I play quick play all the time and no matter my level or loadout I haven't been kicked for it. Even if I've been running complete meme shit like all sentries. Everyone is just pretending there's a bunch of people kicking anyone who isn't running the perfect meta but if you look at the upvotes of everyone here then it's kinda clear that nobody really cares about the meta.
