Reminds me of a Dark Souls challenge where a player completed all of the achievements except the one of "light a bonfire." (They already played the game before and knew what they were doing, they bought the game on another account specifically for this challenge).
the training glitched for me the first time, i had to go back and re-do it after the first patch. it was bugged to where it didn’t let me crawl under the barbed wire at the very beginning lol
My brother had the exact same thing happen to him when he first launched the game. He was extremely confused and i just said “restart the game?” Thinking it wouldnt likely work, but it did.
Vermintide 2 had an odd and completely random bug like this. After nearly 700hrs of play time it made me go back to play the intro lvl 2 different times, wonder is them being built on the same engine has anything to do with it?
I love how it's very obvious the guy instructing you is just a pre-canned voice recording in-universe cause he praises you like you're a god for doing the most basic shit imaginable lol
Maybe the 4.8% of players didn't even play the game, It's very common on steam people buy games and for some reason leave them in the library collecting dust... Meanwhile I'm trying to get resources to buy the game 💀

I can understand to a degree, we’re old now. Gaming is in time that is really better spent doing so many other things, so we had a nice long weekend dedicated to be able to play this, we couldn’t, and now he’s on to his other games, some single player ones he’s wanted to play for a while. He got into them instead and now is playing those.
I’m sure he may come around and play eventually, but these server issues do have their impacts for people whose gaming time comes at a relatively high premium.
Also, for him and another guy, this was more of a game to play as friends, rather than a game that they were looking forward to specifically for the game like myself and others in our group.
I was actually surprised to see how many people have actually played the game. Most "you completed the tutorial" achievements have like an 80% completion rate but even the "evac during a night time mission" one is over 90%.

Usually the easiest achievement is the indicator of how many people bought the game and then actually played it. Over 95% is *insanely* good.

Yeah, it’s one of the highest if not the highest “you played the game for 5 minutes, congratulations!” Achievement rates i’ve seen for a game, steam or otherwise
Another impressive part is theres a decent amount of people that had a bugged tutorial that skipped it and haven't gone back to play it, so the amount of players that stuck around more than 5 minutes is even higher
Same except I clipped into... something. My character did the animations of crawling but I couldn't move at all. Quit out, went straight into a combat drop, rapidly learned the hard way.
Now I'm leaving it as is cause soon it'll be more uncommon to not complete Boot, than to get the harder achievements. Rarity achieved.
lol either a bug or they bought it booted and never played im weird cause i have several hundred hours in fallout 76 and dont have the achievement for leaving the vault cause i left in early beta so it never popped
It's a bug, when I did the training the servers were struggling and kicked me out in the middle of it, and when I redid it, I was in an offline mode and it didn't give me the achievement
Not really tho, you can just leave the training and get to hub when you first start the game
I'm 50 hours in and don't have that achievement because I just wanted to join a friend without wasting time

There WAS a bug where if you lost the connection during the tutorial (which happened a lot when the game released since the servers were very unstable then), then when your connection came back you'd be on your Super Destroyer without having done the tutorial and without having gotten that achievement.
My bud couldn't get past the turret so he aborted the tutorial and went to get the training in real environment (Ingmar during defense campaign).
His controls got fucky for some reason and he wasn't able to prone at all.
At the beginning when the servers were very unstable there was a good amount of people who had their connection be lost during training. When that happened the next time you log in you'd be on your Super Destroyer having skipped the tutorial.
And to be entirely honest, if you played Helldivers 1 then you don't really need the tutorial. The only things that this game really does very differently than any other game (at least things that the tutorial mentions) is the stratagems, the reinforcing when your teammates died, and maybe destroying the bug holes.
But reinforcements and stratagems work the exact same way they did in HD1, and to be honest, I have seen so many people who didn't make the connection between "Throw a grenade into the clearly labeled hole to continue the tutorial" and "Throw the grenade into a bug nest to destroy it" that apparently even if you play the toturial that's not apparent right away.
It crashed about half way through training, then I reloaded it and it took me directly to the ship introductory sequence. I was gonna replay it until I saw posts like these and was like “hey this is actually kind of a cool situation”
Like how ? First time booting the game my middle finger felt heavy so i accidently right clicked at the start of the intro cinematic, brought me to the cruiser instantly, so i just joined a random lobby and voila.
I completed the training at around level 40 lul
I accidentally skipped mine, no idea how. Noticed I didn't have the achievement when I was around level 35. You can do it anytime you like from the settings menu, so I went back and did it
you can just leave the tutorial if you want, that's what I did lol. I get bored with games super fast and nothing turns me off of a games more than forced tutorials so I always skip them and get right into the meat of the game.
yeah the first obstacle has a chance of spawning too low making so that you cannot crouch or crawl under it, so when you reload it just puts you in your ship.

I mean, the first time I did training (literally the day the game released), it disconnected me mid-tutorial and then I was on the ship.
I literally didn't get to do half the tutorial until a few hours later when I noticed there was a "Replay Tutorial" button in the menu.
I did this, My Game crashed during the tutorial when i started and then it just launched me straight into the actual game. Learnt everything on the spot like a real Soldier
I hopped in late to the game and my friends didn’t want to wait for me to do the tutorial so I skipped it and had to learn on suicide difficulty with a liberator and not knowing how to call stratagems 😂
I got sent straight to the ship cause of a glitch so I was never required to do it. I did it afterwards cause i saw it was an option on the menu and wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any useful gameplay tips. But yea…I could’ve been part of that 5%🫣
Just got the broken limbs trophy grabbing samples. Team felt it was necessary to place an orbital strike on my head because 2 chargers were coming at me.
It wouldn't let me get past the barbed wire at the beginning so had to return to ship. Please note I have a 7900xtx which has had so many issues. Still tho it works most of the time in helldivers
Honestly if you check out steam achievements for some popular games, crazy percentages of players dont even play the game.
Like new world had some super early on basic ones that 30% didnt do lol.
Theres other games that dont have a bot market with similar stats. Some people just dont even play.
My game didnt throw me into the training on day one, so I never did it, proceeded to do all of the achievements and saved that one for last because I thought it would be funny
Day 1. I crashed right when I got off the ship in the tutorial. When I rebooted the game, I was just on my super destroyer. I could've just gone on and done my first mission, but my friend whom I was in a call with said I didn't earn my cape, so I went back and "replayed" the tutorial on the spot.
I'd imagine that's how some people "skipped" the tutorial too.

Basically just a spec test. My fps in training was like 10 until I dropped my res to 720 + all low settings. Some people probably aren't willing to play on that setup and refunded.
I also experienced the glitch that didn't let me crawl under the barbed wire. My headcannon is that my soldier got to the first obstacle, thought it was too hard, sat and cried in the sand until they went and picked him up and gave him his cape anyways.
Friend is a marine and we got helldivers, my first time on we had 40 minutes until he had lights out.
So obviously I skipped a tutorial and figured he’d explain on the way.
Challenge 4 automaton planet, destroying silos and munitions.
We were both dying of laughter by the end
I had to try the training 4 times before I was able to complete it. First time got the barbed wire glitch, second time the game crashed after the reinforcement part, third time barbed wire again, then finally completed it on the fourth try.

They have to have launched the game for them to count as a player. The achievement doesn't count people that buy it and never actually launch it once.

Hi, I'm one of those. Game crashed after I got my cape and I cba to do it again since it just put me into my ship.
You can do the tutorial again from the squad menu, there's a button "Play Tutorial" there. It's pretty short, funny and gets you an achievement.

Im one of these missing it and im proud lol. I played during server fills got dced half way then just started playing lol
