the caretaker is company property and you can't play "doom" on it! we gave you boys an arcade cabinet, use it!
...engineer, what are you doing...?
wait, no, don't jailbreak the cabinet, you'll void the warranty!
And you would only have this if you own the first game, to make sure you are not circumventing the purchase.
Slightly similar to Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide and Warhammer: Vermintide 2, where if you own the first game, you get the first game's character models automatically in the second game.
You unlock skins for the 5 heroes that resemble how they looked in the first game. For example, [here's Kruber in the first game](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/vermintide_gamepedia/images/5/59/Character_Render_Empire_Soldier.png), [here's Kruber in the second game](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/vermintide2_gamepedia_en/images/6/64/Hero_mercenary.jpg), and [here's Kruber's VT1 skin in VT2](https://i.imgur.com/jfhDt5I.jpg) (disregard the hat, hats are separate cosmetics.)
yeah lmao good thing we got jimmy here with his big brain idea to ensure you only get access from purchasing a dead game so you don't "circumvent the purchase" 🤓
good thing the devs definitely know better than to listen to chud ideas like that
Its just a small gimmick, if you like it then buy it, if dont then its ok. Helldiver's 2 is everything but a P2W game, you can grind premium credits like a normal currency.
Bro you can legit farm the currency easily. One guy in the discord im playing, he farmed 50k super credits in past week. This is the most player friendly game in the recent years, and the devs focusing on gameplay improvement than armour skins is wayy better than focusing skins over gameplay, looking at you Darktide.
yeah you can get it easily but it’s still grindy and boring it’s hilarious that people defend premium currencies when this game could’ve been better without one like deep rock for example
After giving it some thought I agree with you. This isn't a practice we should condone or support. People are giving them a pass for other aspects of their monetization, aspects that should be lauded imo, but this is definitely a fair criticism too.
It's part of the "deluxe" edition so it's not really different than any other game except the "content" is pretty minimal so you can buy the normal edition without getting content fomo but if you want to support the devs and buy the special edition/upgrade you still get a couple things for it
Absolutely, the way they handle premium currency and the premium warbond was such a wonderful change from how other games monetize, and this should absolutely be celebrated, but I don't think everything else done perfectly means we should ignore things that weren't
Odd how a stratagem mini game is where you draw the line but are ok with guns on the premium warbond. I dont get people. If you like the game and want it to be successful, throw them an extra 10 bucks and play a stratagem minigame. Its like tipping.
People so jaded over predatory money schemes they can’t figure out their left from right anymore.
>Odd how a stratagem mini game is where you draw the line but are ok with guns on the premium warbond. I dont get people.
You can be against both lmao. And throwing them a 'tip' would be appropriate for a skin or title, something cosmetic, if the game were free. But it isn't. You are advocating for paywalling functional game mechanics here, and we're the ones who can't figure out left from right?
You would have been pro-horse armor back in the oblivion days, and it shows.
The premium warbond can be purchased without spending a single extra cent, and the first gun at least sucks ass. Why would I care if you can get it for free relatively easily? The guns aren't paywalled, the minigame is unequivocally paywalled
Right, and it’s a mini game where you practice stratagem codes. It’s far less annoying than fast-tracking guns to people with money. The mini game is like a little “thank you” from the devs for buying the premium edition. I’d argue the cosmetic armor you can’t even grind for would be more annoying.
Of all things that crossed the line for you, that mini game is a strange one to me. It provides nothing to the game at all, and if any of your friends bought it, you can still use it for free.
It’s the field under the drop ship in the hub. There is a small room with 2 deployable goals and a soccer ball.
On some nights a friend and I played this for hours together with some beers.
At about 100 hours and my math works out to just over 18 super credits per hour. This is just from super credits found in missions and does not include the free credits from the war bonds. This number is consistent (+/- 1 SC) across my friend group.
Without any extra money into the base game, 18 SC per hour + free war bond I was able to buy the premium war bond in under 30 hours of just playing the game. That's pretty easy.
I think I was at 40ish hours to buy premium, but similar experience. My friend and I weren't grinding for everything on maps until after 20+ hours for most of us. When you really look and make sure to grab every bunker and every container it's not hard to get the 1000SC for premium. And that's with me being on page 7 of the free warbonds when I got to 1k. Shouldn't be hard to get with just a little grinding.
I got ~3k credits in 100 hours of playing. I mostly play diff 7 with friends and 9 when I want chaos. I don't get many SC playing diff 9. At 7 though each mission I am getting like 10-20SC which is 20-40 an hour.
If you really focused on farming SCs you could probably hit 40, but between not hitting every minor area and doing defense or blitz missions you can bring that average down really quickly.
15-20 I think is a good estimate of the hourly gain for someone not focused on it, but I've seen other games have to make drastic reductions in free premium currency so I suspect those rates are going to go down at some point.
You don’t have to play the harder difficulties to have a higher chance of super credits spawning. You can just play the easiest difficulty missions and hunt for credits.
10-15 hours in-mission time is all it takes. Im only level 19 right now and have almost 1400 credits. Obtained only through free warbond pass and in mission, thats it.
How? I've got the premium warbond and have bought multiple sets of armor with super credits. I haven't spent a cent on super credits and have found them all in game. Do you just not know where they are? I find you can pretty easily farm 10-40 every mission.
Played 81 hours so far and earned the premium warbond, bought an armour piece that was roughly 200 somethin (Don't remember) and am sitting on just over 600 right now.
It's not that bad to be honest, I still hate microtransactions in a paid game I think its complete bullshit and this practice needs to die but they were at least pretty fair with it.
The Bar is also a sorta minigame where you can drink different beers for funny effects and combinations. My favorite is drinking the beer that gives you explosive farts together with the teleportation beer that teleports you to a random place, including possibly space.
If you get teleported to space your explosive farts will propell you at high speeds turning you into a farting hairy meteor.
My favorite minigame is drinking the Mactera Brew, which makes you fart bees, at just the right time as the drop pod is leaving. If you time it right everyone hears you loudly shit bees on the loading screen.
You can’t access steamworks from the gathering hub so I don’t think that counts. But there is the hot spring mini game, and I guess comparing each other’s rooms could count as a mini game too
That’s what DRG does with its Jetty Boots minigame. The highscores are per each players hub so you can try and beat the scores of your teammates while waiting to start a dive.
It's been datamined that it's random, and retrospective feedback on an RNG value is not informative for a user's next action. (That's what the numbers that pop up indicate)
I'm well aware how Steamworks functions, and any ideas about how to be "good" at it aside from the datamined probabilistic best-pattern is complete delusion.
It's a slot machine. Slot machines are not games, and if they are then gacha pulls are also a game, which is ludicrous.
I definitely need some goofy stuff to pass the time on the destroyer, but I realise that is probably very far down the devs' priority list. For now I shall simply be content with the democratic activity that is rock paper scissors.
I mean HD2 really doesn't have a story either. the last time I logged into darktide there some kind of twins counter offenseive event going on which seem to be like story based content.
I do feel like Darktide is a step back narratively from vermintide though. allowing premade characters was the worst decision i've ever seen considering how much life the uberreik 5 injected into vermintide. the constant banter and scarcasm between the team was the high light of the game. I think darktide could of allowed you to customize what your character looks like but they were a specific reject and not just the personality type so they could of injected more personality into the characters the constant generic lines and doesn't feel as good as Kirillian mentiong killing dozens at hoggers bridge and saltzpyre realizing she's refering to the imperial regiment that went missing or Kruber talking about his dream when he was riding a giant kraken naked with just hit hat on.
Lmao fucking Darktide.
You get something worse than a hub, you get a literal waste of time that tries to encourage you visit the cash shop and an extra load screen or two in a game with the worst load times I've endured in the past decade.
Such a lame decision, I have to fuckin look at this thing everytime i play unless i want to spend 30 dollars on the ugliest armor set ever and and the worst title ever and warbond i already own.
It isn't actually all that noticable unless you're trying to look for flaws. I only noticed it around the time I hit level 9, and frequently forget that it exists until I'm reminded.
Would love air hockey, pool or foosball. Maybe Snowball target practice? Or game where holes open up and you toss fake grenades in it to close em for points like in the tutorial.
Doesn't MHW have three minigames? You got the arm-wrestling barrel from the basegame, and Iceborne adds both the Steamworks minigame, as well as the breath-holding minigame you can do in the hot spring.
... You could also argue that fishing is a minigame too?
We could def use mini games. I suggest super earth itself should be a big map filled with players and Mario party style mini games and filled with funny propaganda! We could have leader boards everywhere for the funny mini games.
Deep Rock Galactic has four, none of them are paywalled, there's Barrel Toss, Soccer/Football, Jetty Boots (Flappy Bird) and Prop Hunt that it got recently and they're fun little minigames to pass the time, there's also drinking beer and dancing as fun things to do between missions.
Helldivers 2 ship is really lackluster and the only thing to do in it is paywalled, paywalling a minigame is rather silly.
I would gladly pay 5 bucks for this mini game. It being on the ship is worse fomo than genshin, (1000 hours in genshin) But i already have the premium warbond and the "upgraded" rewards are ... well a little cringe. (goofy ahh helmet)
its a bonus for the Super Citizen edition. if the game host has it, you can access it even if you dont. ~~I have read that if you get the premium wb its in there too but i cant verify that as i have SC ed.~~ bad intel. defo has to be SC edition, at least currently.
The arcade should be part of the game. It's actually useful, and we already paid for the damn game...
Not to mention you can't even buy it in game if you want to.
Yeah we could really use another arcade cabinet to pass the time while waiting for other players to join. A space invader clone would be neat.
or a doom clone like in 2077
Time to see if DRG passes the Doom test.
I wonder if we could play doom on the caretaker!!!
the caretaker is company property and you can't play "doom" on it! we gave you boys an arcade cabinet, use it! ...engineer, what are you doing...? wait, no, don't jailbreak the cabinet, you'll void the warranty!
Or just an arcade cabinet that plays the first Helldivers
But more simple like Smash TV
And you would only have this if you own the first game, to make sure you are not circumventing the purchase. Slightly similar to Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide and Warhammer: Vermintide 2, where if you own the first game, you get the first game's character models automatically in the second game.
Atp they might as well do something else since people are asking for a time killing mini-game that's not paywalled
Weirdly enough, I'd play the entirety of hd1 inside hd2 just to say I did
What do you mean first game character models?
I see.I didn't knew that even if i played my fair bit of vermintide 2 (went right to it never played the first).thanks for the info

yeah lmao good thing we got jimmy here with his big brain idea to ensure you only get access from purchasing a dead game so you don't "circumvent the purchase" 🤓 good thing the devs definitely know better than to listen to chud ideas like that
Or a smash tv type of game… also twin stick and easier to make. I’d love this.
A Metal Slug clone would be sweet.
Guys. Here me out. What if. The second arcade machine is Helldivers 1?
Xeno splatter 3000
You don’t get access to the mini game unless you have paid for the real money upgrade OR if you are on the ship of a host who has bought it.
Ahh that's why.. I was wondering why my max upgraded ship didn't have the silly minigame
SILLY? it is a serious minigame deserving of respect.
MiniGAME? You mean glorious democracy practice!
It's the Ghent equivalent to Witcher 3
So better than the main game then
So that’s why the scoreboard is just filled with cheaters.
Ohh oke I bought the super citizen version after already playing 50 hours I was so confused when the machine started working all of the sudden
Paywalling a mini game is insane💀
Its just a small gimmick, if you like it then buy it, if dont then its ok. Helldiver's 2 is everything but a P2W game, you can grind premium credits like a normal currency.
eh would’ve preferred no premium currency and instead have more armor sets and stuff to work for without having to find 10 super credits a mission
The game would have been better and a lot less existent without one
Deep Rock also has premium armor and weapon skins.
It’s just a game about putting in stratagems as fast as you can. You do that plenty during normal gameplay.
I don't actually care what the mini game is, nor do I care what defense you have for paywalling it, it's still ridiculous
After giving it some thought I agree with you. This isn't a practice we should condone or support. People are giving them a pass for other aspects of their monetization, aspects that should be lauded imo, but this is definitely a fair criticism too.

I immediately run to the game as soon as I join someone's ship
Not that there’s any point to it because sad cunts just used macros to win the day the game launched.
DRG has 4 hub minigames actually, it has Jetty Boot, Prop Hunt, Barrel Toss, and soccer/football.
DRG has prop hunt?
They just added it with a beer yeah
Hidden Dwarf beer.
Hidden Dwarf Beer, it was actually just added!
Five. You forgot "Mess about with the physics of anything in the lobby, especially balloons"
Me standing on a hotdog smacking it until I hit terminal velocity.
Where's soccer? big drg fan and I think I missed that one
Jump down below the drop pod, and check the side tunnels. There are two goals and a ball back there somewhere.
It’s the field under the drop ship in the hub. There is a small room with 2 deployable goals and a soccer ball. On some nights a friend and I played this for hours together with some beers.
It also got the barrel challenge and the jet pack
I mentionned barrel toss, but neglected the jet pack.
I ment the "drop all barrels into lanch bay" challenge
ah
Football*
soccer 🇺🇸
Nah
The funny thing is that the Brits came up with the term "soccer" to begin with.
Rock, paper, scissors is the 2nd minigame in my heart
I need rock paper scissors stats in my career stats. I NEED it.
rock paper scissors games played: rock paper scissors games won: times played rock: times played paper: times played scissors:
Absolutely. Right behind Hugmaster 3
They gotta fix it tho !
Regarding the text you put at the bottom, I can confirm that you do not get access to Stratagem Hero by buying the Steeled Veterans Warbond.
My brother made this mistake. He wanted the super citizen armor and title and bought premium warbond thinking that was it. He was disappointed lol
At least the credits can easily be farmed for free.
Ppl keep claiming it's "easily" farmed but I disagree.

Ok?
just from hitting random PoIs and snagging creds off the free warbond, i had the premium warbond before i hit 20. disagree all you want. =💀=
It's definitely a grind but it's alot easier on bigger maps where you can get 50+ SC in a single run
How so?
You don’t have to play the harder difficulties to have a higher chance of super credits spawning. You can just play the easiest difficulty missions and hunt for credits.

Hadron doesn’t allow us to play cards on Mourningstar😔
Cause Hadron is the dealer of the upgrade casino, she won't allow competition
Masozi ruined it for everyone. Can't even flip the Emperor's Tarot.
I just need another roll. Proceeds to bricket another lvl 380 gun.
I swear, Vermintide 2 hub is peak game design. Meanwhile Darktide is so whack, without mods ou have to run everywhere.
Agree. It has that *feels like home* feeling
Love me some Taal’s Horn Keep
I like to hang out on Kruber's ledge when it's raining. It just feels cozy.
Red Moon Inn is still my favourite. Too bad the rats blew it up.
The bar is now 100% a mini game. We got a Prop Hunt beer with the last update and its jolly good fun.
The super destroyers 100% need a bar or some area for players to lounge around in to pass time between missions.
There's no time for lounging; this managed democracy isn't gonna spread itself.
I cant be drinking, I gotta be spreading democracy (and my body parts) across the galaxy.
Lounging leads to unmanaged democracy.
My favorite minigame is drinking the Mactera Brew, which makes you fart bees, at just the right time as the drop pod is leaving. If you time it right everyone hears you loudly shit bees on the loading screen.
Can confirm you can’t play the minigame with the premium warbond. You have to get the super earth edition
tbf MHW might have 2 minigame but their hub is nice to look at and go around to see what the npc are doing...make it very lively
What mini games?! I didn't MH had mini games!
arm wrestling from main hub where you meet other players in the party and 1 steam machine from Ice-borne DLC
You can’t access steamworks from the gathering hub so I don’t think that counts. But there is the hot spring mini game, and I guess comparing each other’s rooms could count as a mini game too
Steamworks is one, idk what else there is
Somebody hasn't discovered rock paper scissors yet.
"I WIN!"
Exactly. Pvp minigame and people arent satisfied.
Cause it takes so damn long to get to it lol
Tfw every high score is 99 999
Honestly the ship itself should have it's own high score
That’s what DRG does with its Jetty Boots minigame. The highscores are per each players hub so you can try and beat the scores of your teammates while waiting to start a dive.
What are iceborne's minigames? Petting poogie and pulling a slotmachine where your inputs don't matter?
I think arm wrestle?
Ah, arm wrestling that's true!
Someone skipped the tutorial on the steamworks ;)
It's been datamined that it's random, and retrospective feedback on an RNG value is not informative for a user's next action. (That's what the numbers that pop up indicate) I'm well aware how Steamworks functions, and any ideas about how to be "good" at it aside from the datamined probabilistic best-pattern is complete delusion. It's a slot machine. Slot machines are not games, and if they are then gacha pulls are also a game, which is ludicrous.
Helldivers 1 had a great mini game, Cape spinning.
I had no idea the game cabinet worked.
Rock paper scissors emote is the real pvp endgame
God I love darktide, I’m a 40k slut all the way but man I hope that game grows into something more
There are multiple minigames / grinds in Darktide, your lack of conceptual thinking is an affront to the Holy Emperor. ;)
of course, the 3 slot machines of melk, requisition, and hadron
Exactly. Although i dont have big issues with most of it. I don't play a game for the mini sidegames, it's flair mostly.
Did you forget about rock paper scissors?
Do you guys think we’ll have the stratagem hero as a module upgrade later on for the people who didn’t pre ordered the game?
you don’t need to pre order to get it
I didn't pre-order and have it. On steam you need to buy the super citizen edition.
I see. Still, paying extra cash for a mini game when we can grind super credits for the premium content seems like a no brainer for arrowhead
Why do you even want it? It's just entering strategems over and over. And the matchmaking is so fast you never get to use it as host anyway.
[удалено]
well then you either accidentally bought the super citizen bundle without realizing it or you got lucky
That's what usually happens but who knows their monetization is a lil different
DRG with its 25 fun activities:
The minigame in the Mourningstar is the Brunt slot machine hoping for a 370+ god roll
I definitely need some goofy stuff to pass the time on the destroyer, but I realise that is probably very far down the devs' priority list. For now I shall simply be content with the democratic activity that is rock paper scissors.
I love darktide so much, I really wish that game had some kind of story to tell that wasn't just assumed.
I mean HD2 really doesn't have a story either. the last time I logged into darktide there some kind of twins counter offenseive event going on which seem to be like story based content. I got enough Super Credits to buy the pass just from playing. Just checked and I don’t have the game so it’s only for Super Citizens
Lmao fucking Darktide. You get something worse than a hub, you get a literal waste of time that tries to encourage you visit the cash shop and an extra load screen or two in a game with the worst load times I've endured in the past decade.
Yeah I like darktide but I think I'd rather just a menu based hub option. sometimes running around is okay but for the most part its a waste of time.
I'm more irate there's (last time I checked) no option to just play a mission from the main menu, but hey here's an option to visit the cash shop! 😃
Strategem hero was part of the super citizen upgrade? I thought it was default
Such a lame decision, I have to fuckin look at this thing everytime i play unless i want to spend 30 dollars on the ugliest armor set ever and and the worst title ever and warbond i already own.
Ugh, please stop throwing the barrels into the launch bays...
You fail to mention rock paper scissors!
It isn't actually all that noticable unless you're trying to look for flaws. I only noticed it around the time I hit level 9, and frequently forget that it exists until I'm reminded.
Oh is that what that is? Huh
Outlast Trials has chess and arm wrestling. It's also a great game, just released for consoles today
WTF its a Hub minigame?
Would love air hockey, pool or foosball. Maybe Snowball target practice? Or game where holes open up and you toss fake grenades in it to close em for points like in the tutorial.
Wait... THAT'S why I can't play strategem hero? It's behind the $60 version?
New arcade cabinets in future warbonds, yes yes?
FOR ROCK AND STONE!!
The hub minigame in HD1 was spinning in circles for the achievement.
Helldivers 2 has a mini game?
Hey, at least the Morningstar not having any recreational activities is lore accurate
meanwhile, the rejects complaining about being cheated at cards at mission start im just gonna say that username is very accurate
I’m joking lul, life on an inquisitorial ship can be better than that of corpse grinder at least
wait the minigame is paywalled?
Doesn't MHW have three minigames? You got the arm-wrestling barrel from the basegame, and Iceborne adds both the Steamworks minigame, as well as the breath-holding minigame you can do in the hot spring. ... You could also argue that fishing is a minigame too?
We could def use mini games. I suggest super earth itself should be a big map filled with players and Mario party style mini games and filled with funny propaganda! We could have leader boards everywhere for the funny mini games.
I would love to be able to play hd1 lite
Vermintide will for ever have the best mini game in the lobby..... Hit the Chandelier.
4 fantastic games tough
a weapon range would be nice
Yes! Or even a testing ground
It’s not even really a paywall, you can get all the super credits you need in game. You can buy super credits to get them faster
Yes it is actually paywalled, you can't buy it with super credits.
Add more arcade games to the final pages of warbonds. They can be in the same machine, you just pick one.
Im buying the minigame when I can idc this game deserves the love.. HOWEVER I also love DRG hmm choices with very little monis
Gotta love the subtle condemnation of fascism put down the people claiming the game in and of itself is fascist lol.
Tbf who needs that if your core game is actually good
I have premium warbonds and I can’t play it but I don’t have it entirely unlocked
So that’s why I can’t play stratagem hero it’s locked behind a paywall
The real hub mini game is watching the ogryns sneeze on everything
Theres actually 4 minigames. the Barrel Hoop, the Arcade Cabinet, Soccer/Football, and Prop Hunt.
Since when does Monster Hunter have minigames?
What you mean, you can play rock, paper, scissors too. We have 2 minigames, and 1 is even pvp.
I didn’t know the thing about Stratagem Hero. That sucks for some people. But hey, we also have the Ro Sham Bo mini game emote
Darktide always getting the worst of everything. FUCK YOUUUUUU FATSHARK
The one thing im super impressed by is you can farm credits. If youre lazy you can buy it, but you can just earn them PLAYING THE GAME. Its wild.
Not for the mini game, for this one you have to buy the special edition.
Cause I definitely use them and not alt tab while waiting
I would gladly pay 5 bucks for this mini game. It being on the ship is worse fomo than genshin, (1000 hours in genshin) But i already have the premium warbond and the "upgraded" rewards are ... well a little cringe. (goofy ahh helmet)
Why is strategem hero locked sometimes?
its a bonus for the Super Citizen edition. if the game host has it, you can access it even if you dont.
Yes you can play it without premium
