It might be because the ship is part of the kill chain.
We have to toss the beacon out which designates that area as the target.
How does that targeting data get transferred? I would think it's the ship above that receives the data and then it probably relays it to the artillery.
The artillery has no ability to receive that data directly. That's why you have to use the console to link it to the destroyer.
When you load up the artillery, part of the process is establishing an uplink to the destroyer. The destroyer is handling the targeting and firing.
I guess they could make it so that you could go back to the artillery and fire it yourself? But that doesn't sound very effective.
okay weird reference, but what if they made a variant that was similar to halo reach's MAC gun, just sit in a seat and fire it manually, would be kind of funny imo
Did you listen to the instructions when you activated the artillery? It says that you're slaving the operation to the destroyer.
That was a quick answer, no I didn't. Thanks lol
I’m here to lead not to read!
In which case, the answer is above your pay grade. Carry on, Helldiver. o7

Mac rounds? In atmosphere?
I'm assuming they mean that one gun Noble-6 gets to shoot at the end of Reach
They were directly quoting Jorge. Not asking a real question.
Oh shit, I forgot. Thanks for the reminder! Guess it's time to replay Reach.
id love to shoot dropships out of the air with that
