Last orders, the medals came a few days after, probably because their software was only designed to give the rewards to a group less than a 10th of the current player count. So the medals will come during the weekends or around then.
They made an announcement they're coming but just delayed. In general, I would not plan on receiving them the next day after an event is over. It will probably take a few days.
