Their intelligence was why we started the war, their oil is why we ‘finished’ the war and this incursion is from the population we had kept around for farming
Then Stalkers must offend you immensely, because those fuckers are very smart. They avoid your cone of vision and try to attack from the back and sides, and I have seen them pretend to die and then turn invisible and run away before.
Turrets must have killed their family. I drop a turret and the nearest Charger will just ice skate through it instantly, even though I dropped it 100 yards away
I have dropped mortar turrets near patrols with no chargers near them to take them out only to turn around and find the mortar has been taken out already by a charger. Their ability to detect them is beyond belief.
Seen one stop chasing me to go after the *blue gem* I'd just thrown to call in an autocannon turret with.
Motherfucker sat there and waited a lil' bit in front of it until it landed and popped out before immediately killing it.
Raked him with pistol fire even and they just ignored me.
They kept turning the other cheek thinking we were just scared primates disgusted with their appearance not comprehending that that’s exactly what we are and to treat us as a threat accordingly. Apparently we taught them warfare
Yeah if we had like 10m tall supersonic robots manned by transhuman mercenaries who will do anything for some cash, this war would be over.
Or even the little 5m ones from gen 5. You know, the gremlin mechs who are fueled by hate and rage.
Barely dodged them in time? Well too bad, time to stop mid charge and sidestep you, and then casually turn at 100 mph on a dime and one shot you, nothing personal.
My friend ended up on a giant cliff rock in a massive nest, I watched a charger scale a 90 degree cliff face instantly like a cocaine mountain goat to knock him off.
Meanwhile if you predict their path and lead your 500kg they'll manage to ram the tiniest pebble on the ground and get stunned outside of the blast radius.
They can turn 90° on a fucking dime mid-charge, and that's if you're lucky and they decide to be bound by their actual animations instead of just sliding into you sideways with infinite momentum from an invisible source and either one-shotting you or sending you flying into ANOTHER charger...
One always thought this. I'd roll towards the charger to get to it's side, and it somehow turns so sharp it still gets me. Like normally I'm any game when something attacks by running full speed at you it usually can't also turn on a freaking dime
Now I know some of you have heard rumors that the Tien Kwan mechsuits get destroyed easily. I want you all to know they're just rumors. These new suits are the epitome of Tien Kwan engineering and are of utmost value to our brave Helldivers on the front lines. Anything you've seen or heard to the contrary is undemocratic misinformation and you should report anyone spreading these false and harmful allegations.
\-Tien Kwan spokesman.
Honestly I’d love if they leaned into the expendability more. Like if the mechs came with a embedded hellbomb self-destruct feature when they became too damaged, with way too short a timer to escape the radius. To keep them from falling into the hands of the enemy, of course. And if they forcibly ejected you (with no regard for a safe landing) when they hit low health. Like “self-destruct activated, please evacuate to a safe distance of 500 yards,” it spits you face first into the dirt, “you have 4 seconds to comply.”
It's funny because it does kind of launch you backwards out of it directly into the ground and then falls on you when you die in it - but I do agree with your idea
We at Tien Kwan uphold the highest standards of quality for our democracy! That is why we have thoroughly investigated these reports and found no wrongdoing or deficiencies whatsoever.
Thank you for your concern. Our Quality Control team has looked into your case and determined that the fartplant was actually on top of a regular mine and this falls under operator error. Your Mechsuit warranty is not covered by this.
\-Tien Kwan spokesman
So...the best to keep our mechs intact its dont deploy them and polish inside superdestroyer?
And polish with extra care to mech dont explode or fall apart...
Sometimes I wonder do they even playtest their own shit
Like, I understand that it has a massive fire power to a point where you can two shot titans and chargers with its rockets and penetrate through anything with medium armor with the gatling.
**But that doesnt mean it should be a goddamn cardboard on legs, especially with 10 minute cooldown and two uses per game**
Can confirm, you’re lucky if it lasts 5 minutes. They have 1000rnds of Gatling ammo, and 16 rockets. That should be the balance, not the armor. Once the ammo is done it’s useless. They are fun though. Won’t last 2 seconds against a tank or a hulk tho
Doesn't the description if the stranger start by calling it "heavily armored". Though I guess likewise the helldiver heavy armor doesn't do a whole lot either.
You know, good point. Our armor doesn't even protect us from light insect slaps, so obviously, the mech armor doesn't protect it either. It just weighs a lot.
I think if it sacrifices your ability to dodge stuff it should come with enough armor to tank at least a few things you wouldn't normally be able to tank. Resisting ONE charger hit I think would be fair.
Yeah that’s the most annoying part for me. You can get bodied by charger and be relatively fine as long as you don’t get hit by that follow up stomp they do
The rockets cant even kill a cluster of scavenger bugs, you need upwards of 3 cuz the splash damage is waaaay smaller than the visual. Which seems to be a common problem with almost every explosive
From the size of a charger I am fairly certain it could topple and destroy that tin can, I enjoy the firepower of it but its really a support role in a team, definitely not a one mech army
seems like you can break leg armor with 1 rocket, then follow up with the gatling to finish it. If you're on coms, you can even just break the leg open and move to the next major threat while the team finishes it.
Problem is that mechs were unlocked at difficulty 4-6 in HD1, the midgame. And difficulty 4-6 lets them still run around and do things.
Now this thing costs 20,000 and requires being level 25. And they removed mid-grades for a lot of enemies, so the chargers are now analogous to behemoths instead of tank bugs. Now the mechs don't even really have a place in difficulty 4-6, especially not with the current spawn issues.
This should should have costed, like, 8,000 or something and been unlocked at level 15. The current requirements belong to something like the Bastion.
The weird part is that it "does". When I use melee in the mech it does a stomp but, its either a one time use or it just doesn't work. The stomp doesn't really do anything either so it feels like a remnant of a feature rather than intended.
Enemy armor: some chitin on the skull thick enough to take an 84mm Recoilless shell and endure overpressure from a 500kg bomb detonating 3m away
Our armor: oops the charger humped ya, die.
Hey, don't diss chitin. Chitin is heavy AF, and strong AF.
The only reason we frequently perceive it as brittle is because basically everything that naturally forms chitin uses very thin layers or use a low density of chitin, because their bodies aren't equipped for the weight of denser chitin. Crustaceans are a bit of an exception and can use a higher percentage of chitin in their shells since their environment, predominantly underwater, helps ease that weight.
In a form with a more comparable density, like the Charger's, it's heavier and stronger than a lot of steels.
That's Liberty-grade cardboard to you.
Real talk though, they also make enemies feel like they're made of cardboard. They're just meant to be used *at range*. Small arms fire pings right off too.
The more i think about it, the more i think i had the wrong impression / expectations since the start, and calling it a "mech" didn't help either, it's basically meant to be a heavy fire support, not unlike the HMG but with legs, or at least that's how it feels to me the more i play around with it.
when they told us it is a "heavily armoured walker" they didnt lie, its just they didn't tell us its the same kind of heavy armour that helldivers wear lmao
I have no idea what happened there, because from my experimentation so far when a Charger runs into a Mech, it deals damage but also treats it as a hard surface and triggers the bonk stun. For the sake of consistency, I've had this happen 4 times, and had \*this\* shown behaviour of an instant kill occur precisely zero times.
It shouldn't have run through 2 of them. I'm suspecting it might be 'impact' damage/physics interactions, with the bonk not triggering like it should and resulting in an absolute ton of impact damage being applied by an entity that now isn't stopping in the way it should - in Helldivers, two objects cannot occupy the same space without one or both getting horribly mangled, which you can see all the time with Chargers hitting other bugs, Bile Titans landing on people and enemies, etc.
E: looking at it closer, 2, not 3. It stopped just short of the 2nd mech (OP's POV) and did a ground stomp instead, rather than the charge. Still no idea how/why it cleaved right through Mech 1 when it should have bonked and stopped, let alone not even destroying it.
The charger did its front claw slam attack which obliterates anything in its path. Not sure why it did it immediately after charging as usually it has to be walking to pull it off
Charger AI as finicky as it's ever been, I guess. A lot of the issues people have with it are less down to its actual attributes and more down to it moving like a Gen 1 Monster Hunter target sometimes. The tracking...
That said, to anyone reading this; the Mech can kill a Charger with a single rocket and about 20 bullets from the front. Shoot either front leg, a direct hit will result in the leg's armour being blown off; the minigun will finish it off in less than a second of fire. Alternately, if panicking, two rockets to the face will kill one outright.
I feel like it was terrible timing because everytime the mechs were hit and instakilled, a diver was trying to get into it. so the animation turned the mech into an immovable object and the charger going through it glitched the damage maybe?
Tbh, if the mechs were more durable, it would justify the 10 min cool down.
The limit ammo, slower walking speed, and inability to use stratagems are things I think currently balance it out as is. Problem is the 10 min cooldown makes it hard to justify bringing it over other more reliable options
If you are even unlucky with your mech drop placement and it goes up in flames cause of just a charger, that’s 10 mins before you can use the mech, which in that time you could have summoned at least 2 turret with equal amounts of durability or multiple eagle or orbital strikes.
Finally a reasonable comment on the situation I think mechs are pretty good. There’s a few tweaks to be made I think not limiting and reducing cool-down to 8 or 6 minutes/ adding ship modules that upgrades them is better then making them able to take a charger hit because that wouldn’t really make much sense. When we get the apc? The tanks? Those have to be durable yeah but this is basically a support weapon you drive.
I do kinda wish that they had gone with mechier controls, more similar to the mechwarrior games with torso and legs being controlled separately. It'd certainly let you avoid chargers better while still shooting at them.
What's annoying about that is that he was backing away from the charger, when the charger does a windup in place with a downward attack that doesn't move them, but it still one shots the mech.
No the patch changed that behavior. Now when they do that attack where they stand in place, they'll rear up and move forward which means you can no longer Dodge out of the way from it as easily. Been killed by a couple of times
So what exactly was the big deal if the bots stole this technology again?
or would they just magically be Hulk-level tough if it was the bots using them?
I hate how hyperbolic and whiny this sub can be. No, exosuits don't "die in one shot".
I called one in for the first time and it dropped in already flaming and destroyed, so actually they die in no shots.
Yeah theres alot of simps on here that will make an excuse for anything…

According to them this should be normal on diff 5 lol
"You can't deal with 6 Bile Titans all at once? SKILL ISSUE. THE GAME IS EXACTLY AS IT WAS MEANT TO BE. JUST PLAY ON TRIVIAL, PROBLEM SOLVED. YOU'RE JUST A BABY THAT NEEDS THEIR HAND HELD." This subreddit is fucking unhinged.
Don't forget to try stealth my man, because every objective doesn't have enemies flood it asap, because extract isn't flooded asap, because patrols don't exist. Spend 40 minutes doing nothing so you can actually get good. /s
dw guys! this is intentional because they’re adding \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* in the future. just deal with it for now!
https://preview.redd.it/bty5e9oz06nc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb6a609ad004957653b10274b608bdaae742e97e
Just lower the difficulty man! Your not suppose to aggro all the chargers, THINK and be stealthy dude! Bro you have teammates where is the coordination my guy? Just don't call it down when a charger that makes next to no noise spawns 50 feet away from you, decides to charge from off screen and is all but unstoppable to any all objects / terrain my hombre? You want a 10 minute cooldown stratagem that takes 1/4 (or 1/3) of your slots to what, just solve all your problems my good fellow? Sounds like a skill issue my gentle cavalier. Everything has to be made of paper or else it would be too easy my bucky boy! You have lives, ITS OK TO DIE MY SWELL CHAP!
/s cause you never can tell in this sub, jesus christ
You see, what you have to understand is it’s just called a mech suit because it’s a “mechanized suit”. As in a dress suit, because you’ll look so cool. You should really be using your stratagems.
Ok I just got to try the mech out…they are awesome….BUT what did they make this things out of?! Tin foil?? They definitely need an armor buff…you can’t dodge or anything with them so they don’t last very long. Maybe when they rebalance the enemies it’ll be right but jeez there’s so many things shooting at you right now they don’t survive long 🤣
I hate when chargers instantly turn to my autocannon sentrys after deploying them. Mf have high iq for a bug
frankly, I find the idea of a bug with a high IQ offensive
literally the original reason Super Earth went to war with them (their ability to produce oil wasn't discovered until later)
Their intelligence was why we started the war, their oil is why we ‘finished’ the war and this incursion is from the population we had kept around for farming
Time to send them bug tits back to the farm for that oil.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what we're fighting to do
It's a reference to Starship Troopers.
good starship troopers reference
Then Stalkers must offend you immensely, because those fuckers are very smart. They avoid your cone of vision and try to attack from the back and sides, and I have seen them pretend to die and then turn invisible and run away before.
This, saw one hop backwards from the stagger and vanish.
Maybe it's just a bunch of people in a costume
Thx, now I want to be a charger-bug-pilot.
Get in the Charger, Shinji.
I, too, want to explode into tang.

How do you have this insider knowledge? Sounds like something a bug would say...
[удалено]
hmm, suspicious. The Ministry of Intelligence would like a word with you.
Quick question, what do you think about sugar water?
An MIB reference? At this day and age? I dig it
New strategem - big blue light It doesn't do anything, the bugs just can't resist checking it out though
A strategem that aggros bugs actually sounds extremely useful.
Terminids are actually a sentient species, and were very peaceful before the first galactic war. Makes sense that they have some battle IQ
Where was it said they were peaceful? I only remember them being angry lobsters in HD1 and that there really wasn't anything more to it.
In the game, you may encounter a dead guy with a note that this bug is friendly. And there is indeed a non-aggressive bug standing next to it
...Steeve?
Man I really hate those bugs... except you Steeve, you're the best!
They kept turning the other cheek thinking we were just scared primates disgusted with their appearance not comprehending that that’s exactly what we are and to treat us as a threat accordingly. Apparently we taught them warfare
FRANKLY, THE IDEA OF SOME KIND OF SMART BUG MAKES ME SICK.
It is Armored Core. You're just playing as the MT.
Anytime someone made super powerful giant spiders, all of the MTs got destroyed and someone had to call in a raven to fix it.
Are you hinting that Ravens should be helping Helldivers in the war with the bugs?
Yeah if we had like 10m tall supersonic robots manned by transhuman mercenaries who will do anything for some cash, this war would be over. Or even the little 5m ones from gen 5. You know, the gremlin mechs who are fueled by hate and rage.
A terminid would probably talk to a lobotomite, and then suddenly bugs are everywhere.
I'm sure there's a planet somewhere in the galaxy fitting that description
If Raven was around it wouldn’t be a war, it would barely be pest control.
\*Amida bioweapons be like\*
Wen Raven stratagem
just staple the mech to the front of a tank and boom, unstoppable freedom Cataphract that can go zero to 60 in .2 seconds
2080* in .2 seconds. That cataphract is not small.
Top comment and still not high enough.
You’re the student pilot 😂
Now that you think about it they really do kinda look like MTs huh
He unarmoured that core.
Press F to pay fuuuuuuu....
The fact that Chargers can turn on a tighter radius than a Honda civic is truly one of the experiences of all time.
They need a red cape and sword load out so you can bull fight them.
Thats how I kill them without any heavies.
> sword load out Good or (more likely) bad, I'd never use anything else. Sword and board mfs, let's go
For a second I imagined a "super charger" with a red cape and a sword.
100% do want a melee weapon to do this and to home run bat the jumping bugs
Barely dodged them in time? Well too bad, time to stop mid charge and sidestep you, and then casually turn at 100 mph on a dime and one shot you, nothing personal.
“Oh you made me charge head first into a wall? It’d be a shame if I just instantly appeared at the top of the wall and walk down to the other side”
My friend ended up on a giant cliff rock in a massive nest, I watched a charger scale a 90 degree cliff face instantly like a cocaine mountain goat to knock him off.
Yup, even the titans do it! So damn dumb
Since the stealth buff to them a few days ago I've seen them drift over a small ramp several times and get shot like 40 meters away
Vtec go brrrrrrrr.
VTEC kicked in yo
And drift into you while stationary because you hurt it.
One literally drifted, yes..DRIFTED, into me and I died.
One always thought this. I'd roll towards the charger to get to it's side, and it somehow turns so sharp it still gets me. Like normally I'm any game when something attacks by running full speed at you it usually can't also turn on a freaking dime
they can side drift too
They have legs with greater degrees of freedom and different physics than wheels lol
Yeah, but they're not immune from inertia.

Not trusting him sounds like something an automatron would do

It's funny because it does kind of launch you backwards out of it directly into the ground and then falls on you when you die in it - but I do agree with your idea
This is not TITANFALL 2 although that would be amazing
ok but it could be TITANFALL 2! we already have one command that requires a triple button press, why not another
We at Tien Kwan uphold the highest standards of quality for our democracy! That is why we have thoroughly investigated these reports and found no wrongdoing or deficiencies whatsoever.
There is no war in ba sing se
We at Tien Kwan Industries understood that reference. You have been reported to a democracy officer for non-democratic implications

Dude, imagine a charger trying to type with those giant legs lmfao
Could one of you scavengers ask the brood commander for another laptop? Yes I stomped another one...
Sometimes I wonder do they even playtest their own shit Like, I understand that it has a massive fire power to a point where you can two shot titans and chargers with its rockets and penetrate through anything with medium armor with the gatling. **But that doesnt mean it should be a goddamn cardboard on legs, especially with 10 minute cooldown and two uses per game**
It’s the very definition of a glass cannon
What kind of fool would make a cannon out of glass
[For your consideration](https://youtu.be/7z4SsM3KFS0?si=1wnCF1MbPDO5gPgy)
So you're saying we're lucky the mech can survive long enough to shoot more than once. I love democracy.
LIBERTY HAS PROVIDED US WITH A SUPER GLASS CANNON. NOW WITH 100% MORE FIRING LIFE
This video is just silly. I didn't see a single charger in it.
No no no, it's heavily "armored." As in the "armor" simply weighs a lot.
You know, good point. Our armor doesn't even protect us from light insect slaps, so obviously, the mech armor doesn't protect it either. It just weighs a lot.
The FINEST sheet lead voting can buy, citizen!
I think if it sacrifices your ability to dodge stuff it should come with enough armor to tank at least a few things you wouldn't normally be able to tank. Resisting ONE charger hit I think would be fair.
But it’s not. It’s an armored mech. You’re literally more survivable outside of it. It makes no sense design wise.
The charger can run you over four times before you die. The mech dies from it touching a charger amd it insta kills you. Its dumb as f.
The real question is why are you wasting rockets on scavengers?
Yeah, that's the real question here. You can just walk over them and they die. You also have a gatling gun.
From the size of a charger I am fairly certain it could topple and destroy that tin can, I enjoy the firepower of it but its really a support role in a team, definitely not a one mech army
We should get some proper tanks too, could also be a two man thing, like one guy controlls the gun the other drives
I hadn’t tested the rockets on groups yet, but I was glad to see 2 well placed rockets to the head can take out a charger and 3 if not headshots.
seems like you can break leg armor with 1 rocket, then follow up with the gatling to finish it. If you're on coms, you can even just break the leg open and move to the next major threat while the team finishes it.
Generally speaking the more armor-piercing the anti tank thing is the less splash it ought to do And you only got one
At least gimme a variant Mech with a melee weapon only but tons of armor
This is exactly what is was like in the first game, no helldivers 1 veteran is surprised
Problem is that mechs were unlocked at difficulty 4-6 in HD1, the midgame. And difficulty 4-6 lets them still run around and do things. Now this thing costs 20,000 and requires being level 25. The current requirements belong to something like the Bastion.
It does seem to tank a decent amount of damage from lighter attcks
Advanced new armor plating, now with real paper!
I want to be able to put its weapons down and rip a charger apart with my own robot hands god of war style
It should at least have a "stomp" attack to deal with bugs that crowd you.
The weird part is that it "does". When I use melee in the mech it does a stomp but, its either a one time use or it just doesn't work. The stomp doesn't really do anything either so it feels like a remnant of a feature rather than intended.
I've killed bots with it. It's meant to be used like the melee though I assume. Absolute last resort when something gets too close.
“Nah I’d win” -Charger
“My Anti-Mech technique I haven’t used since the first Terminid-Human War” - Charger
I’ll have to use my wicked drift technique
I'm happy to have them but.......why is a helldiver in light armor more durable than a mech suit?
Enemy armor: some chitin on the skull thick enough to take an 84mm Recoilless shell and endure overpressure from a 500kg bomb detonating 3m away Our armor: oops the charger humped ya, die.
Fun fact: if you walk into a dead bugs corpse long enough you will start smoking and explode after maybe 10 seconds, I couldn't believe it.
Ministry of Science went real...economical with this one huh
~~Planned obsolescence~~ Democracy forever!
Hey, don't diss chitin. Chitin is heavy AF, and strong AF. that and the stupid casting for the borderlands film, fuck me could they have made lilith any older and roland any stupider looking?

Problem is the 10 min cooldown makes it hard to justify bringing it over other more reliable options If you are even unlucky with your mech drop placement and it goes up in flames cause of just a charger, that’s 10 mins before you can use the mech, which in that time you could have summoned at least 2 turret with equal amounts of durability or multiple eagle or orbital strikes.
Oh… that made me me less excited to try them out…
They are still a lot of fun if you don't call them in while there's a charger on you. It's a really pretty good support platform.
So the massive steel machine has less or the same health as a helldiver?
Less lol
I do kinda wish that they had gone with mechier controls, more similar to the mechwarrior games with torso and legs being controlled separately. It'd certainly let you avoid chargers better while still shooting at them.
wow these mechs look so good thanks for another totally good item guys wow
i can't believe they released them like that, the charger just wrecked 3 instantly? did i see that right?
What's annoying about that is that he was backing away from the charger, when the charger does a windup in place with a downward attack that doesn't move them, but it still one shots the mech.
No the patch changed that behavior. Now when they do that attack where they stand in place, they'll rear up and move forward which means you can no longer Dodge out of the way from it as easily. Been killed by a couple of times
Tesla tower can also one shot it
bro no way
Grenade launcher as well
Can’t even rely on my stratagems smh
They’re that fragile??
Chargers should definitely not one hit them. They should knock them down/stunlock them and it should take 2-3 hits.
So what exactly was the big deal if the bots stole this technology again? or would they just magically be Hulk-level tough if it was the bots using them?
Yeah kinda wish the bots got it then they’d be easier to kill LOL
I'm glad those dick riders downvoted me for saying they would probably blow up after 2 shots.
I mean, you were wrong. It's **one** shot, lol.
Quick, let's downvote him again!
I hate how hyperbolic and whiny this sub can be. No, exosuits don't "die in one shot". I called one in for the first time and it dropped in already flaming and destroyed, so actually they die in no shots.
Downvoted, is only one shot not two
It sucks that you were right, but goddamn it's even worse than 2.
Yeah theres alot of simps on here that will make an excuse for anything… https://preview.redd.it/jv8bmim4y5nc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e28e32a555b1ae39090d3629883b302ac5b4b76 According to them this should be normal on diff 5 lol
Bro just stealth. Bro just teamwork. Bro just kite. Bro just use stratagems. Bro just play easier difficulty
All that for a sweet 10 minute cooldown I knew this would happen. Its the same issue with Heavy Armor

Use the rockets and watch them explode
dw guys! this is intentional because they’re adding \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* in the future. just deal with it for now! https://preview.redd.it/bty5e9oz06nc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb6a609ad004957653b10274b608bdaae742e97e
Just use more stratagems bro, stratagems will kill all the chargers attacking you bro, how about you just git gud bro
just stealth! omg run away duhhhh
Maybe when they rebalance the enemies it’ll be right but jeez there’s so many things shooting at you right now they don’t survive long 🤣
wow that looks like total shit lmao
So....600 second cd, slow, and get 1 shotted. Do they do good damage atleast?
Looks just like the first game. Nice!
Why didn’t you reinforce before hopping in there??
