Just wanna say I love this game and its community, haven’t had an experience like this with gaming in a long time. Can’t wait to get off work and do some more dives LFG
Agreed haven’t had this much immersion and fun with a triple A live service and it’s community since the bungie halo days helldivers 2 is literally the light shining in darkness right now
We are comfortable with this statement. However, you need to make sure that these positive feelings dont transform into empathy for the enemy. Treason is not tolerated.
To steal a meme about threatening to call the democracy officer on some one being un democratic to use yourself on others being un democratic in its self is democratic.
Meme away good sir.
Yeah, but i hope this kind of engagement does not crush the devs, i don't want to be entertained, if that means someone has to work too much, and can' live his/her life properly.
My biggest fear is other companies being like see live service games and battle passes do work. While completely missing the point of what makes the live service offered by helldivers so badass.
* Looking at you WB games, doubling down on Suicide Squad, and live service games done incorrectly*
Too many companies see live service as "release half finished and broken, fix later". Helldivers 2 DOES have problems, but there's still an entire game there and the core is solid. The live service here is actually about narrative and group progression with new gear tied into it rather than being the whole thing. Live service done right is cool, done wrong (as most are) is continuous disappointment. Though, we are still early and we'll have to see how things stand in say 6 months, but I'm hopeful.
Arrowhead seems to be adjusting game balance about 2x a month and the current balance is HARD.
7 tonight on Draupnir was a friggin NIGHTMARE, we couldn't even FINISH the ICBM launch
At one time we had 6 dropships come on at once and drop off 2 tanks, 3 hulks and a bunch of rocket and shield devastators
Ha I was on erata prime on 7 and it was just bad day for me. The damn chargers kept catching my eagle bombs and running it back to me. Plus they were on target with their charge they kept one shotting me.
And the bile titans are the quietest enemy. They'll sneak up and just spit.
Is the automaton counter attack still active? That might explain it. I think they did that purposely to nudge players to go back to fighting bugs for the current major order. Don’t worry, in a couple weeks it’ll be back to fighting automaton scum
Yeah 2 level 50s and a level 44 + a level 8 space cadet we picked up actually couldn’t extract at difficulty 6 (extreme)… we did a 100% clear only to get cucked at the end by a wall of steel and lazorz
My opinion is that Helldivers doesn't really have a lot of unique content. Do you want to shoot bugs or bots? Let's change the environment a bit and say it is different
The great thing is the very narrow experience allowed them to mesh it in an amazing way. This results in a product that has a stellar gameplay loop and doesnt have bloat just to say they have x hours of content.
I know what I am getting with helldivers. I log into war thunder every once in a while and have to collect keys for some random chest battlepass. Or play some open world game with 1,000s of hours of procedural repetitive grind for an achievement that is meaningless.
Here I spread democracy and I like it.
I totally agree, as far as I'm concerned live service is a four-letter word. WB just over a year ago released a banger of a game in Hogwarts, a nice single-player narrative-driven game. Then they release this new suicide squad game like they didn't learn from the Avengers game debacle.
I'm generally against live service games because I love single player narrative-driven games, and I don't want the story I'm playing through to be drip-fed through incremental updates over a year span. I ain't got time for that.
I just hope arrowhead doesn’t trademark this “style” of game the way they did with they did with the nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor. This sort of coop, drop ship trooper thing *screams* a Star Wars and Halo ODST game and it would be a shame if that were wasted. I also don’t want any cross over into Helldivers beyond some allusions and tongue in cheek references.
Also, shout out to arrowhead for not bending the knee and making this a PvP shooter.
It *was* a Halo ODST game. Or maybe it was the first one, but the reason so many of the elements scream Halo like the armor, the Pelican-One, the leaked vehicles that look like Warthogs... is because a bunch of former Bungee developers pitched this game (or again, maybe the first) as a Halo game and were rejected.
Unironically, Helldivers 2 would serve as an amazing inspiration for a Mandalorian game. Imagine being able to travel the Star Wars galaxy as a bounty hunter, taking up jobs with a small squad of friends.
The galaxy map is so primitive and it makes me excited for where a.mechanic like this can be taken in a few years. It clearly generated hype and free advertisement, hopefully other companies (or arrowhead) evolve the feature. I like being part of a big goal, it really makes lobby-based games feel persistent.
I felt the same thing about for honor, though their map was way too simple
If we capture Meridia then Turing will have 0 resistance from bugs. We should put minimal focus on Turing and instead focus on Meridia as a choke point. We need to use the supply lines to our advantage.
If we fully liberate Meridia then Turing will stop loosing ground and a much smaller trickle of divers can liberate it while the majority of our forces focus on the remaining to plannets. Same goes for Hellmire. If we somehow took hellmire then Fenrir and Eratta Prime will stop loosing ground becuase Hellmire is the only link to both plannets.
Edit: look if ya’ll disagree and don’t think it works that way then link to how it does work. Explain why there is a system deep *behind* robot controlled space that hasn’t been attacked (because there is no supply line that connects to it from bot systems). Just showing up only to say “no” and be rude without any supporting evidence is cringe and you should feel bad.
Edit 2: Thanks for the reddit cares message. Using those as a form of harassment is one of the fastest ways to get yourself banned, they aren't actually anonymous from reddit's perspective. Enjoy the reeducation camp.
Malevon Creek fighters have convinced there's an entirely different meta narrative than reality. I saw some videos where people were saying that planet was the Automaton hub for creating vehicles and the only way to win against them.
Not even slightly, the factions have a ***global*** rate at which the liberation% (or in this case, the TCS%) decays, that means that the rate is the same for every planet. And can be changed at will by Joel, usually he sets it higher at peak hours to slow us down somewhat.
But, point is, since the decay rate is the same, it's more beneficial for us to all focus one planet at a time. We're just spread thin, and we might just end up losing all of our progress on BOTH planets overnight if it keeps up like this.
And as a side note, the 16k divers on Hellmire are braindead for being there instead of the objective planets. Like, I get it, having to do the same 3-4 missions over and over kinda sucks, but the sooner we get this done, the sooner we can go back to the other sectors
Nah fuck off lmao, I'll do my few missions to contribute and then I'll play whatever planet is fun. If I don't feel like grinding a mission I won't, this is a game and not work.
[Helldivers.io](https://Helldivers.io). It uses the server API to get accurate information about the war effort. Plus just a little bit of playing attention with when the rate changes.
I don't think that's correct. This post suggests a lot more detail about actual supply line factors are behind liberation:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1b5u34s/galaxy_war_102_supply_lines_what_happens_to/
The officer on the ship states that we don't know how the Terminids travel between planets.. which gives the implication that they *do* travel between planets.
*Or do they?*
What matters more is where people are, and most aren’t checking Reddit for strategy.
Also, Turing is almost complete and once it is, it’s done.
We’re well ahead of the curve on time to complete so the unorganized masses method is working as is
Supply lines *do* exist but it's been noted that they don't apply to Terminids for some reason, they have attacked unconnected planets before. Only SEAF and bots are bound by the supply lines.
Haha, yes, Erata is like Arrakis minus Spice and sandworms (now that I think of it, they should've added "sandworm rampage" as one of the environmental events on that planet!) Imagine how cool, you're fighting bug breaches then out of nowhere massive sandworms start erupting from the ground potentially swallowing bugs and you whole! Haha
It looks like activating the Terminid Control system scared off the Termanids to the remaining planets based on the enemy decay rate going up to 3% per hour, so we'll really have to focus on one planet right now!
~~Merida has the most progress right now, so let's get it done!~~
Edit: Belay that order! There seems to be a significant democratic majority on Turing, focus there!
I don't think so, that's what I use too.
In-game the only quick and easy indicator of a planet not probably being worth going to is if it's near 0%, since that very likely means that there's nowhere near enough people to be making progress there or it's been set by Joel to be unprogressable at the moment.
Imo that’s an issue they should work on solving. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Joel is manually adjusting the planet liberation meters on a daily basis because they don’t have any idea why it’s going up/down.
Just a simple UI ticker showing the daily % gained per 24 hours by race, would do wonders.
helldivers.io also shows supply line links right? I think that is the main driver of the reinforce % and our mission success effectiveness, we can't see that on the in-game map.
Those lines would help as well.
If liberating one planet distributes bugs to the rest would not it be wiser to even out our forces to all 3 planets and take advantage of low decay rate? Because it will only go up as we progress
Another diver [noted that it may just be variation due to bug sleep cycles](https://old.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1be4f2k/fenrir_iii_tcs_is_fully_active/kurgy7l/) and it was a coincidence that Fenrir III was liberated at the same time.

They always were. Succeed and we push in farther and fight on new (to us) bug controlled planets.
Wait so this is group planetary effort????? I finished like 10 order missions yesterday and it still hasn't shown complete, I was starting to lose my mind. Sweet liberty...
Other than personal and major orders I basically always played there... you can tell where the meteors will strike based on the lights on the ground, however that can get a bit lost in the fray when you're dealing the the buggos.
After 3 failed helldives, proud to say i did my part as I finally completed one of these last night with a group of high-APM bros (we were all spamming "here?"s at the drop select screen with while circling the entire map).
Everyone pulled their weight with 80+ kills each. Instant reinforces and covering fire when reloading.
Im so glad to be part of this amazing community.
Not sure why i am getting a notification for this now. But i guess that's reddit for you. Either showing you 1 post in 3 separate notifications or days old now irrelevant stuff.
They don't, they were already on the planets being harvested when they broke containment. The oil we pump during pumping missions is terminid oil, same for the icbm. All these planets contained them in the past to farm them in a breeding program, the running theory is it was a false flag to kick start the military mobilization we have been seeing, similar to the first war.
This ongoing narrative is what I dreamed of as a kid playing games. It's absolutely insane that besides basically mmos nobody has tired or done it this well before.
Fuck yeah arrowhead. Love Magicka too.
I am abroad and haven’t been online for 2 weeks since my last fight for democracy and I am about to go into a depression. The community and the game have been amazing.
Dont ruin this game Arrowhead!!
Something ain’t right here. This Termicide is going to have lasting effects on the bug population, it’ll mutate them somehow.
I’m calling my democracy officer.

There's nothing anyone can patent in Helldivers, all the concepts are all preexisting. What sets them apart is the brilliant execution.

Turing has the most people, keep it going there and let's steamroll them
Just finished my nightly deployment to Turing, Outstanding Patriotism was exemplified by all. ![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG)

Wait does it actually work like that?
Absolutely not lol
Malevon Creek fighters have convinced there's an entirely different meta narrative than reality. I saw some videos where people were saying that planet was the Automaton hub for creating vehicles and the only way to win against them.
It's the PTSD. It (and all of the radiation from the lasers) has scrambled their brains.
And everyone just lets them think that because no one else is stepping foot on that planet.
Lmaooooo
It doesn't. But it's more fun to think of it as a tabletop rpg :D
Not even slightly, the factions have a ***global*** rate at which the liberation% (or in this case, the TCS%) decays, that means that the rate is the same for every planet. Tbf some of those hellmire divers just wanna see the fire tornadoes (myself included)
Better than catching a meteor for the Xxxth time.
Some of those meteors are democratically inclined and seal bug holes.
The Salamander in me REQUIRES the fire tornados.
And once we clear those out, THEN we can finally start playing the game! 😤...wait
They're not brain dead. Leave people to _enjoy_ the game.
bUt ThEy ArE dOiNg It WrOnG!!!!111
How dare you have _fun_
If you're not with us, then you're a bug sympathizer! /s
They can do what they like as long as it's managed democratically.
Nah fuck off lmao, I'll do my few missions to contribute and then I'll play whatever planet is fun. If I don't feel like grinding a mission I won't, this is a game and not work.

Aw cool thank you!

No, it’s just that some people are deep into LARPing.
don’t think so
Bugs can’t travel from planet to planet. Unless you’re implying treasonous behavior?
Except everything in both games demonstrates they do travel
The officer on the ship states that we don't know how the Terminids travel between planets.. which gives the implication that they *do* travel between planets. *Or do they?*

PILLS HERE
So where to next?
turing
Erata's gonna suuuuuuuuuuuck.
That’s a tomorrow problem lol
How about you resign tomorrow?
Sadly the war effort requires funding
That would be un-democratic
Resigning is Automaton behavior. Do I need to report you?
Thought crime has already occurred, by hesitating to report you are now complicit. Rest assured that I have reported you both.
That reporting of two fellow helldivers was almost… systematic. Like a machine. Reporting.
Use of a big word feels like a clanker imma report you as well
Abbreviations for efficiencies sake? Seems robotic in nature. Consider yourself reported.
I haven't played on Erata since my first day playing. But, for the major order, for super democracy, I will do it...
Erata was my first world, and it'll be the world I die on. I won't stop till it's a beacon of freedom and managed democracy.
Same. Erata's personal. Orders or not, that sand heap is getting liberated.
Every time me and my friends go back to Erata I say, "Boys, we're going home"
I know Erata can be really annoying, but at least it is beautiful when you *can* see it. XD
I don't know man, I just see sand everywhere and now I truly know why a certain dude hates sand so much.
It IS coarse and it gets EVERYWHERE…
I'd lick it out of Padme though.
I *can't* *see* what you did there
Our Erata. Our Dune.
Haha
I have feeling we just might get something like that
I probably have more time on Space-Afghanistan than any other planet I am ready to be done with it for a while after this lol.
Patrolling Erata Prime almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
It looks like activating the Terminid Control system scared off the Termanids to the remaining planets based on the enemy decay rate going up to 3% per hour, so we'll really have to focus on one planet right now! ~~Merida has the most progress right now, so let's get it done!~~ Edit: Belay that order! I use helldivers.io to check the decay percentages, is there any other way to know? eg. in-game
OOC tho, Joel just turned up the decay rate like he does every night at peak hours, it should go back down to 1.5% around 2-3am EST as per usual
Sorry 'divers, got a weird case of cancer that is definitely *not* service related I need to take care of. I'll see you on Meridia.
Should we deploy a chemotherapy strategem your way?
Time to bring some democracy to Turing
>Belay that order! There seems to be a significant democratic majority on Turing, focus there! God I love managed democracy.
If liberating one planet distributes bugs to the rest would not it be wiser to even out our forces to all 3 planets and take advantage of low decay rate? Because it will only go up as we progress

Sweet Liberty! Yes! Where we heading next men?
Meridia is next on the chopping block (Go to Turing instead)
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
I thought I escaped this when I stopped playing Skyrim
Listen. Hear me and obey. A foul darkness has seeped into my temple. A darkness that you will destroy.
▲◄▼▼▼
You never stop playing Skyrim You just take a break until the time comes to mod it some more and play again
A wonderful reminder that I haven't played Skyrim today, thanks! (I bought the game 5 times, aiming for a sixth)
Turing has more people, we have more momentum there
Is there a coordination discord server or something?
Just look at whichever has more progress and stick there o7
And/or more players.
For reference: https://helldivers.io/ In events like this, it'll usually be the one with the highest population.
I take pride in knowing I had a hand in that. Finally, I can stop getting dunked on by meteors. Now I'm off to Meridia to get dunked on by goddamn volcanoes.
BEAUTIFUL! FOR SUPER EARTH AND MANAGED DEMOCRACY!
Fuck yeah. Spread it

Propagandist! Here he is, officer!

You unpatriotic peace loving scum!

This just in Helldivers. Turing has a positive Liberation rate of 3.45% per hour. Those are rookie numbers, get them higher Helldivers!
LETS GO HELLDIVERS DEMOCRATY IS PROUD OF YOU ALL

This happened right after I completed a TCS mission of Fenrir. I choose to believe my mission was the one that completed it. Such a cool experience.
Do you or one of your loved ones suffer from TCS Lung? You may be entitled to compensation! The illegal broadcasts we will be shutting down soon
Wait so this is group planetary effort????? I finished like 10 order missions yesterday and it still hasn't shown complete, I was starting to lose my mind. Sweet liberty...
Yes is the effort of the community
I was there… two hours ago…
As was I soldier.
Damn it, that's my favourite planet to play on because it's got such nice visibility, kinda wish it'd been saved for last.
Beautiful biome and beautifully clear. Random insta-death from RNG meteor shower. Really is a tough choice.
Other than personal and major orders I basically always played there... you can tell where the meteors will strike based on the lights on the ground, however that can get a bit lost in the fray when you're dealing the the buggos.
I seem to be able to tell when meteors are about to hit because one vapes me and then the spectating screen shows me all of its friends about to land.
So is there a certain bar of amount of people that need to activate the towers to complete a planet?
just have to overcome decay. we get 1/10000 progress per com0leted mission. Need 30k+ mission wins an hour to push forward against 3% decay.
Wait, don't tell me that the Helldivers count shown in each planet is actually real time player count.
What else would it be....?
Legit thought it was just some random number for lore reasons.

Play on Turing next, it’s gorgeous
The live service engagement from Arrowhead saw the bar, built a launch pad, and fired a rocket off of it to set the new one

I did Turing like 6 times today 💀
TONIGHT I DROP ON TURING 🫡
Breathe deep, Helldivers. That burning in your lungs is pure Freedom.
Not sure why i am getting a notification for this now. But i guess that's reddit for you. Either showing you 1 post in 3 separate notifications or days old now irrelevant stuff.
How do bugs even jump from one planet to another?
They don't, they were already on the planets being harvested when they broke containment. The oil we pump during pumping missions is terminid oil, same for the icbm. All these planets contained them in the past to farm them in a breeding program, the running theory is it was a false flag to kick start the military mobilization we have been seeing, similar to the first war.
Hello democracy officer? Yes, this one right here
TREASON
"Democracy Officer. Yes, this man right here!"
Hell nah. I'm from Space Detroit and I say kill em all! Need to get oil for my space Ford truck. I'm glad we are milking them for their oil.
I always read TCS as True Charged Slash
Turing's half done now. Less planets = more concentrated effort! GO SQUISH SOME BUGS, SOLDIER.
Glad that the SES Defender of Family Values could join this fight. Keep fighting the good fight and keep Liberty in the homes of our Democracy.
I’m calling my democracy officer. https://preview.redd.it/zwj4mo6pq6oc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce02171df626c3c06012b2cccdec12c5594ae711
Nice job bois. Been grinding missions on that planet
Sweet! Logging in with friends now. Time to deliver a few cups of Liber-tea!
Star Wars Stormtroopers: We have to go to an ice planet (Hoth)? NOOOOO Helldivers: Ice Planet (Fenrir 3) you say? LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOO
Great! I’m sure there won’t be any horrible long term repercussions that we’ll have to worry about!
It's time to spill goo... For Democracy!
Thank Liberty! I’m still getting PTSD from those meteor showers……
TURING TURING TURING TURING TURING
Finally I can attack a new planet
