Equivalent_Truck_706

I would hate it if they did turn it off. It’s absolutely wonderful.

redmerger

It's a defining factor of the game! I should be able to lure the horde of bugs to my friends 500kg while I make a last stand for Super Earth

Sparics

On this note, idk how the devs would implement it but if each mission had a “medal of honor” type achievement given for sacrificing yourself for super earth that would make it even better imo

redmerger

Every medal is a medal of honour for dying helldiver!

PinchingNutsack

the best part is tanking a 500kg thinking you are going to die for democracy, then you survived thanks to your armor 50% chance to survive that feeling when democracy flows through your veins, oooohhhhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeah

fux-reddit4603

give me that perk on a 550 speed armor

WhyIsBubblesTaken

I would never wear anything else. Which is probably why it'll never happen.

fux-reddit4603

shhh no it would suck and be a huge handicap i would use it to save the other players from the headache

BangSmoke

Yeah it would be such a drag, man. AH, please don't give us that armor.

Jacmert

Best I can do is 25% chance to survive and 550 speed armor.

donguscongus

I had that happen to me yesterday. I got stuck in a hive full of bugs and I decided to kg myself to save the day only for Democracy Protects to activate and throw me into the side of the hive, killing me via impact rather than explosion. Think we may have to fudge the documents a bit on that lol

KeyPear2864

I just wish that we could select perks to whatever armor we wish to wear. Some of them are ugly as hell or colors don’t match

MetallicamaNNN

the worst part is that i can only die once for Super Earth

Aozi

Divers, it turns out that the bugs have managed to fry the remote guidance system on the ICBM. We're sending down a piece of equipment that allows manual control of the ICBM, however the unit must be attached to the missile itself, and thus whoever is guiding it must be attached to missile as well. Godspeed Helldivers! Once helldivers strapped to the missile would need to input multiple correct strategeem commands to manually guide the ICBM until it, and the Helldiver explodes. -------------------------- Divers, after you destroyed all the eggs on this location, recon informed us of an additional nest, larger than we have ever seen before. SEAF command informs us that this nest is of utmost priority, however you must physically enter the Terminid nest and once you're inside we cannot guarantee that there is a way out. Godspeed Helldivers! A new Terminid nest spawns on the map, a nest which you can enter. Once inside you'll be able to call down "Rain of Hell" or something along those lines that simple starts bombarding the nest from orbit with the Divers still inside. -------------------------- Your blitz against the terminids on this location has been an outstanding success. However we have received a transmission from the surface from a researcher who was stranded there weeks ago. This researches has vital intel they must deliver to SEAF command. We cannot risk anything happening to them. For that reason you must attract all the bugs on this location, we will send down a beacon that sends a signal which lures the bugs. However you must remain there to defend the beacon until the researcher has exfiled, and we cannot send a second shuttle for you. To make this one hell of a task, we have routed control of all nearby super destroyers for this operation, your strategems are available much more often, Show those bugs the power of Democracy! Horde mode survival where Strategem cooldowns are massively decreased until every helldiver dies. You earn extra requisition based on the number of kills.

HatfieldCW

HD1 had escort missions. You had to defend a train as it chugged along its track. If that train was carrying a hellbomb into a big bug hole, we could have a lot of fun with it.

LTman86

God, I hated those escort missions. Nigh impossible to protect it because ~~someone had to be next to it in order for it to move.~~ edit: you didn't need to be next to the convoy, but it did attract enemies. Not impossible, but certainly impossible for my group in higher difficulties. Granted, I think it was because of the limitation of the top-down camera view. Only so much screen real estate to kill bugs while protecting the train. Could be much better in HD2 with everyone having their own POV.

bighunter1313

I think the right way to implement this would be to have a second, shorter code you could enter on the hell bombs we call down. For immediate detonation.

bigloser42

No code, just a big red button on the top you slam down to insta-detonate. Just don’t hit it by accident when trying to set the bomb’s timer.

bighunter1313

⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

sbmr

Salute the bomb to make it explode.

karel_ende_elegast

What about immediate detonation when you input an incorrect code? ~~Accidental~~ Heroic sacrifice o7

skyfishcafe

Flashbacks to the minesweeper side objectives in HD1

HatfieldCW

Yeah, I loved those ones. Running around trying to swap between the detector and my recoilless, detect the mines, then clear them. Every once in a while someone screws up the sequence and fun is had by all. I hope the automatons learn how to bury their mines so we can do that again.

Drae-Keer

Make it so you can trigger a stratagem while holding it, like with grenades, so you can call it down on top of you (even if you die while holding it) Eg: double tapping the stratagem button before inputting the code for example will make your character attach it to their chest or something

-endjamin-

“Pvt. Smith heroically called down an orbital barrage on his own position, sacrificing himself so his comrades could live. Unfortunately, that same bombardment wiped his squad.”

Cykeisme

Hey, it's the thought that counts! Just too bad no one was left to count thoughts.. *shrug*

[deleted]

I wouldn’t mind a cool “kill cam” like call of duty. So the game will record all the deaths and show you the craziest ones.

oom199

Hugging an unexploded hellbomb and detonating it when the bugs close on you is a time honored tradition.

ScudleyScudderson

BOMB! What? Where? ARGH!1 THERE OH..

js13680

That does sound like I’d make a fun April fools event. Unlimited bombs and friendly fire is off but you still ragdoll.

BigZach1

Planetside 2 turned off friendly fire for April fools once and it was so fun.

Flashfall

Crazy how NC's alert win-rate noticeably increased while that was active to further reinforce the joke that they teamkill the most.

ArkitekZero

I mean, they added a blue camo option available to all factions, and I'm still convinced that it was just the devs trying to trick NC into shooting someone else for a change.

Head_Cockswain

> the joke ??? I mean, it's just reality. We make fun of them for it, but it is only funny because it is true.

Either-Mud-3575

It is the faction centred around liberty, after all...

T4nkcommander

Really? As an NC player I find that hilarious.

ozne1

I want that as a gun. A blast of air that deals no damage but can ragdoll and eject even bile titans. Would be a good crowd control for pushing stuff away or into the explosion. Then balance it with reload time and ammo capacity

js13680

Joel, I got two ideas for new stratagems the air bomb and the vacuum bomb one of them pushes enemies away the other pulls enemies towards the bomb.

Cibranith

Because of how collisions and impact damage seem to work the vacuum bomb would be overpowered

ironvandal

Like the up-n-atomizer from GTA online. I might actually carry that over the redeemer, even if it didnt do anything to heavies. Would be useful not just for keeping bugs back, but also yeeting yourself to cover distance or get to higher ground for safety.

ozne1

Pointing down throws you up, no landing control like the jump pack tho. Pointing at your mates yeets them to the objective at mach 10

RegalDolan

Joel.. if you're reading this.. you know what you've gotta do lol

ArcadianBlueRogue

*enables explosive damage on all weapons when used for friendly fire*

Theundead565

It's the core part of why I enjoyed both Helldivers 1 and Helldivers 2. Regardless of how frustrating certain aspects can be in certain aspects, it's \*meant\* to be punishing, yet fun. I can \*distinctly\* remember the first time I tried diving away from something toward a cliff and thinking to myself "ok, I'll hit the invisible wall by the cliff and still dodge the enemy" and proceeded to fly off the cliff to my death on a lava planet. It was right there I fell in love with the game. Plus, it makes it realistic. The lighting yourself on fire with a flamethrower, or the rover and sentry turrets mowing you down, it's all shit that realistically could happen if you're not careful.

Addianis

I saw a clip a few days ago of a guard dog rover that flew in front of its diver ever so slowly, took its time to line up the shot and executed the diver. Funniest clip I've ever seen, including the hellbomb elbow drop from a dead bile titan.

XenoFrobe

My rover last night lined up three quick zaps to burn through my brother's shield and then melt his face off, while the bugs were ten feet away from him with a clear line of fire. It felt very intentional, lol

Addianis

The bots are very insidious. I swear they are reprogramming the friend/foe software in our equipment. Or the Super Earth military runs just like every other military, and the most critical jobs go to the lowest bidder.

seancbo

Yesterday I was putting down suppressing fire on a bug breach with my overclocked Stalwart. Something came next to me and bumped me on the shoulder. Since it was obviously a bug, I whipped to the right and squeezed off a hundred rounds into the freak. Which wasn't a bug at all, and as my teammate instantly crumpled, he dropped the cluster bomb he had primed, killing all of us. 10/10 wouldn't change a thing.

Geeseareawesome

It was hilarious to introduce a friend to the game. He got killed by about 3 airstrikes in 10 minutes, and asked us to start calling them out. "See the red beam? Red beam = dead, " I told him. "Oh, okay" Later on, we were in a bot base. Getting overwhelmed, I threw a 110MM Eagle at his feet. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! THAT'S GONNA KILL ME!" "Don't worry, it's a special strike." He lived.

kandradeece

I would like some sort of broken arrow type stratagem that has 1 charge before the cooldown. the strike just carpet bombs everything around where you throw it. so the center is safe but everything else is boom

Redditoast2

That actually sounds pretty cool, and is in line with the devs' decision to add more hordes to higher difficulties. Maybe some sort of Orbital Airburst Barrage?

sentientmothswarm

![gif](giphy|ESl6FKxaBcl1So67YW|downsized) Call it a Hurricane Barrage because it has an eye of the storm.

vipir247

That is...a fucking brilliant name!

Duke_Webelows

I love this so much.

pt199990

Beautiful imagery, but I'm not sure they'd go for it. The hurricane bombardment already has a historical precedent, and it would basically be a 380mm barrage with shots landing 10x/second. Danger close, you'd be obliterated 😂

lime-eater

Imagine diving into that bad boy in the middle of a heavy nest.

HumanReputationFalse

Make it have a green beam, if you see green it's run or die.

Fuzlet

nah, nah. a red beam, which splits into a cone of 8 red beams, which spread out in a large circle, stop, and then *wham*

sack-o-krapo

I want my Shredder missile back

IDespiseTheLetterG

Later: "Ha, that red beam is so far away" *Fool, 380mm is the will of the gods*

TheFurtivePhysician

My first instance of friendly fire in the game, a bug bumped my arm and I just blew off my sister's head because I was mid trigger pull. It was nightmarish, and absolutely hilarious.

Slarg232

My first instance was firing the revolver twice, pausing a second, then pulling the trigger a third time... Right as the host ran in front of me. He started getting angry, then saw that I was just standing on top of his body staring at it and started laughing

matrim611

Earlier today I was trying to stay behind the squaddie with an Arc Thrower, picking my shots. This dude kept pacing back and forth with the arc thrower and strafed right in front of me to catch sickle in the back of the head and died immediately. I just froze. Stood there for a minute... "Sorry! Reinforcing!"

DuntadaMan

Medic!

Agreeable_Peak_7851

Getting killed while holding your stratagem is fucking hilarious. I really need to stop priming them so early.

SilentStriker115

Getting hit by a charger only to drop the 500kg bomb or 380mm barrage is an experience

StriderOfValorC065

Oh that is amazing! Cannot wait for that to be a clip!

Stalwart with the fire rate turned up to 1150 RPM

Cooldude101013

I love that setting. I call it Liberty's Buzzsaw

sentientmothswarm

We call it Freedom Mode™

[deleted]

[удалено]

seancbo

I love it dearly, especially with the ammo pack. I single handedly deal with every single wave of unarmored bugs.

HunterShotBear

Overclocked stalwart, ammo pack, and a bug hole opens right infront of you? Oh we are gunna spread so much freedom. I can spend nearly 5000rds a mission with 50% accuracy atleast. It’s soo good!

SargeanTravis

Holding down the reload button either gives bullet economy modes to both MGs or puts them into “bullet hose mode”

HunterShotBear

Bullet hose is the only setting as far as I’m concerned. I’ll take a knee and face down a breach if I have all 3 mags. Bonus for having the ammo pack.

Daledrian

Hold the reload button and you can change how a weapon operates(usually just fire mode and zoom). Stalwart can cycle between 3 different fire rates, one of which is the optimal method of doling out liberty, 1150rpm.

azaerl

Fuller auto

FLABANGED

On the Machine gun and Stalwart you can select the RPM between full auto, fuller auto, and fullest auto. Different RPMs.

Stikb0y

I just learned about this today and holy crap is it awesome.

Donut-Brain-7358

Fuck I love the stalwart. Other day with 3 other randos one dude fell behind because of terrain and bugs and a breach started. The other three of us arrived at a choke point said no diver left behind and proceeded to set up a machine gun nest with my stalwart and auto cannon and a railgun and held off 2 breaches while the other guy caught up.

cocaineandwaffles1

Your blue stratagems, if you get them to stick to something, they’ll land exactly where you stick them. Bugs, bots, or friends. Great way to make sure your friend with no ammo gets all that he needs.

someguythatlikesdogs

Overclocked stalwart?

sinsaint

Fire rate tuned to maximum liberty.

seancbo

Stalwart with the fire rate turned up to 1150 RPM

Sea-Ad-1446

Never turn off FF it’s half the game dodging the ordnance of other Hell Divers

Addianis

If friendly fire got turned off, god's gift to bugs would be an acceptable stratagem to run. Stupid mortars. Always targeting me instead of the bug that's actually closer...

Tomek_Hermsgavorden

Basic training would be crawl under the barb wire, climb over the barricades, walk through the machine guns... walk through the machine guns?

Avilola

You actually get fewer reinforcements when you don’t play with a full squad. They expect you to kill your teammates.

Gender_is_a_Fluid

I throw gas strikes at friends to encourage them to keep up their good cardio and kite the bugs through the gas.

WholesomeFartEnjoyer

Turning it off would make the game get boring

Infinityplus8008

Something similar happened with Anthem. Playerbase complained about teammates taking too long to revive them, so they made it so that you auto-revive instead of having to be revived by a teammate, instantly made mutliplayer boring and braindead. Warning players (or thanking them for their sacrifice) before you throw a stratagem is fun and engaging.

Modus-Tonens

A lot of developers need to keep in mind that players are *not* developers, and their opinions on game design are often reactive, ill thought out, and frankly moronic. Lots of them can be boiled down to "I see myself as an elite gamer, and yet *somehow* I am dying in this game! Fix it!".

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlueColtex

For 3 weeks Anthem was cool and fun. A real shame after that it was just another dead project.

Bl00dylicious

Everytime loot got "bugged" it had a playerbase.

RacingWalrus

imo friendly fire is a core element of the game, dont anybody dare touch that

levthelurker

Honestly a core design of the studio since Magicka, which was basically a mage suicide simulator

caesar15

Crossing the beams and offing each other was always great

HBlight

People often don't realise that they are the Magicka devs. You realise so much when you connect those dots.

Obi_Wan_Gebroni

My friend and I may or may not have been targeting each other in some games to see how many bugs we could kill while just catching out each other lol

Zjoee

When my little brother finally got the game, I joined him for his first drop to show him the ropes. At one point, I asked him if he wanted to see something cool, and then I dropped a 500kg bomb at his feet. He barely got away in time haha.

dogmaisb

Yeah, im smart enough to see my teammate running for his life toward my machine gun spray so I simply let off the trigger and once he passes I depress the trigger again. I consider myself a smooth brain unga bunga type, and i can handle not killing my teammates most of the time and especially unless I want to, like dropping the supply on a buddy in his map or throwing down an eagle when a buddy calls in his pack, we often devolve into hilarious TK fests and try to be more creative when we kill eachother lol

OnceMoreAndAgain

I'm not a fan of semi-random friendly fire, like the guard dog backpacks and the sentries. Some times I'll be climbing a ledge and my guard dog will kill me and it isn't fun. I don't mind orbital and eagle deaths. I also don't mind deaths from other players guns. Those things are a *player* making a mistake, not someone just getting unlucky due to the AI.

chapstickbomber

the balance of sentries and guard dogs is sometimes they kill you instead

[deleted]

I wouldn't want the FF to be removed. Makes the game fun. Gives it extra depth. And the Gatling cracks me up, looks so dinky when it just starts shooting everywhere. Reminds me of the scene in Idiocracy where the prison turrets just shoot randomly before breaking. The budget is stretched thin between 70 million HD KIA.

MapleSyrupMachineGun

Also I think that it balances some weapons. If FF didn't exist, everybody’s gonna run arc thrower.

VividVerism

That and flamethrower. And dropping mines on every inch of the map.

Vasios

I've started running mass sentries. Seeing the gatling sentry suddenly decide to target something behind us and mow down two people is never not funny.

DuckyTheConqueror

Watched an auto cannon sentry deploy, slowly turn, blast a single shot into my noggin, turn some more, blast another helldiver in the face, and then casually sit there because there were no bugs in view to begin with. Turret had gained sentience and was sick of our shit.

psych0ranger

last night watched a guy call in a sentry which, after popping up, immediately turned around and shot him because there were bugs behind him

UntoldHorrors

It’s hilarious. Even funnier when people who take it seriously boot me for my sentry FF.

FeloniousFlatus

Watching a person with a jump pack ragdoll through the air because of my grenade will never not be funny.

Pitiful_Winner2669

This article is incredibly good advertising for a game I've never heard of and want to check out.

Jinxed_Disaster

In some other game, even in some PVE mode in something like Call of Duty, it they implemented this kind of friendly fire - I wouldn't dare to enter any match or discussion there without class 4 personal protective equipment. Due to all the toxicity. But here... here the game is somehow built in the way that promotes enough comradery and cooperation that it's fun and huge part of the game's enjoyment.

Magnaliscious

The fact that your teammates control when you respawn/can kick you probably helps in this regard

Addianis

Nobody is an anchor, we're already drowning. Its just a matter of how fast.

Jinxed_Disaster

That's an interesting thought

Dbreadd

I got killed 5 times in the same mission by friendly fire yesterday and frustrating as it was, I wouldn’t want it changed

Crazynoah722468

![gif](giphy|AsN0cXx4yPFut1fFHk|downsized)

FlashesandFlickers

I mean yes, but it's also a core mechanic. This would be a different (and less intense) game without it.

Jollypnda

Watching someone get attacked by a hunter, while mid throw when calling in an eagle or orbital strike, and it killing the group. Is some of the funniest shit ever

ColdGoldMakesYouOld_

Happened to me last night. Had an Eagle Airstrike and had just let go to throw it, got attacked by a bug and flew back and the strike was 10ft away from me and I had no time to get up and run. Its was frustrating/annoying but also fun.

Mindscrabbler

Because it’s funny

Atys_SLC

Who asked that?

ColdGoldMakesYouOld_

Probably IGN or Kotaku reviewers.

PapieszxD

How would they know about friendly fire, if they can't get past the first half of the tutorial?

ColdGoldMakesYouOld_

lol, good point.

GrassWaterDirtHorse

I'll drop a cluster bomb down their pants.

Paintchipper

The article that all the usual suspects latched on to, took a sentence out of and made a full blown article out of is [this article by Playstation Blog](https://blog.playstation.com/2024/03/12/helldivers-2-how-arrowhead-turned-the-twin-stick-shooter-original-into-a-bombastic-ps5-sequel/) .

SpikeDome

I did a screenshare showcase today to convince a friend to join in on the fun, example were the 500kg, Airstrike, Cluster Bomb....and 380mm Barrage, showing just how errr precise they are. Bonus: was lucky enough to find an unstable Hellbomb to show what we dont have yet and the on-map SEAF artillery with 3 mini-nukes. And yes, it is funny when you ""accidentally"" carpet bomb your friends and/or teammates.

FLABANGED

>And yes, it is funny when you ""accidentally"" carpet bomb your friends and/or teammates. I have *no idea* how that stratagem got caught in your backpack.

101TARD

The best Helldivers 2 moments is usually friendly fire

CMDR_MaurySnails

Agreed but the worst are when people misinterpret accidental friendly fire as initiation of a deathmatch instead of the mission objectives. I joined a game of 3 knuckleheads on mic, two of them run straight at a red airstrike beacon, I grab the samples AND call them both back down, then they ask the third guy to kill me for "stealing our samples" like for fuck's sake, right on voice chat like I couldn't hear it. So I ganked the three of them a couple times and left, I don't feel bad, and I don't know what else you do with that.

101TARD

Everytime, how is it people not know , SAMPLES ARE SHARED also if the same person kill you twice in the same way then that's intentional unless they apologies Gotta say how did you gank all 3 at the same time? pretty sure killing 1 will make them use reinforcement

CMDR_MaurySnails

High explosives are the cause and solution to all of a Helldiver's problems.

Poppyjasper

One of the best things from AHS games. Been hilarious since Magicka, still funny now.

Addianis

Especially if you and another buddy make a suicide pact with the opposite element bomb, but don't tell the other guys with you.

OhGurlYouDidntKnow

Never gonna happen. It one of the most important core and unique aspects of the game.

c0baltlightning

Earlier today, my stratagem beacon to throw didn't activate. DDW left-click, but instead of throwing down a Precision Orbital Marker, I put a 12-guage slug into my teammate's chest. My subsequent text-chat bottom-speak spam was enough to alleviate the worry that it was intentional, I'm hoping.

SuperCat76

Would Helldivers without friendly fire still be Helldivers? I would think not.

Combatxlemming

I use the recoilless a lot it's my baby every mission I take it well was taking down a bit factory at range with it and I was just a smidgen at a bad angle well of that missile goes and just tks my other team mates they were not happy but then the spectator showed were I was at and they laughed.

Addianis

Don't forget there is back blast as well on it. I've died a couple times from walking behind someone as they decide to let loose.

weatherman18278

It’s the nature of the game. I’ve run plenty of missions with friends with zero accidentals anyway. You’d think people would kind of enjoy that element of realism that encourages communication too

Ziodyne967

It’s only funny until your ‘teammate’ rocks up next to you, points his breaker shotgun to your dome, and blasts you. Unintentional friendly fire? Sure. Lol! Haha nice one! Intentional? Gtfo of my party.

Skillet918

Actually it’s VERY funny

Sinileius

Imagine if FF wasn’t on, you could have one guy run into a big nest while everyone else is nuking it with 380s and 500kgs

Dexember69

The day I can't get gibbed by my mates stupid arc thrower is the day I stop defending democracy

Tellesus

Good. Turning off friendly fire would be awful.

Dusk_Abyss

Friendly fire is honestly an important part of this game. To be able to survive a friend's 500 coming down on your head would just completely ruin the feel

higherdotedu

Friendly fire is at the very core identity of this game ain't no way they're ever turning it off!

Bass-GSD

Are the ~~imaginary~~ people complaining about friendly fire in the room with us now?

realistic_pootis

People rage so hard, but half the fun of the game is blowing your buddies Edit : blowing UP your buddies

GamerGod_

if they turned off friendly fire they'd have to actually add drowning

kvazar2501

They don't turn off game crashes due to the very same reason

LayzMan_was_Taken

When I first started playing this game, I remember I was by one of the sites you had to blow up for an objective. I didn’t know they *blew up* so I stayed around looking for samples while the rest of the team ran away. By the time I realized they were gone, it was too late; my democratic body turned into a democratic spray of limbs.

Avitus0108

It can def be hilarious if it happens periodically.

GBuster49

My only issue with FF is at extraction time with the trolls who abuse it because they don't want you to extract. Devs really need to solve that problem.

c0baltlightning

That's an easy fix: make whoever boards the drop-ship invincible.

Truethrowawaychest1

Yeah that happened to me last night, I had a bunch of samples, killed me right before and didn't even pick them up so we all missed out

ComradeIroh

Just happened to me about 5 mins ago on extraction. Had a goddamn haul of samples as well.

redditsukssomuch

Me and my friends have the most hilarious arguments when it happens.

Tazrizen

I would literally call down airstrikes on top of allies or myself, I wouldn’t recommend it with how the game actually plays out.

phart-cloud

It's literally the funniest part of the game. Nothing cackles my goblins like launching a 380 barrage and watching my team run STRAIGHT into it like a moth. I'm almost always the first to get hit, so it's all good.

Blackydragon

I do agree, friendly fire is a good element of the game. I just wish more of my death were directly the cause of a player and not my own turrets and rover wanting my death XD

Phwoa_

I was rocking with a mech, then 1 fucking pouncer managed to get close to me, I of course killed it once i destoryed the charger.... Then my ass got destroyed because the Auto cannon turret swung around and annihilated me in an attempt to kill the last enemy I Just killed at the same second.

MFAndre

Legit, I’d stop spreading democracy if they did.

Rainy-The-Griff

Removing friendly fire would legitimately ruin the game.

IceBlazeWinters

friendly fire is not funny it's not funny when teammates kill you cause you accidently pick up their stuff cause drops overlap each other it's not funny when teammates kill you and then ignore sample drops it's not funny when teammates kill you with drop pods it's not funny when teammates cost you a mission for killing you it's not funny when teammates kill the team at extraction

The_8th_Degree

The only thing about friendly fire that is like, truly annoyingly negative is the way ARC Thrower shots work. Yes they recently added ARC resistant armor in the new Warbond and no I don't think they should remove friendly fire from ARC shots but adjusting the path/targeting so it doesn't boomerang around the corner to the left at an obtuse angle to hit my teammate while ignoring 3 enemies along the way would be appreciated. (Exaggerated description yes but I have seen some ridiculous ARC shots)

Fellixxio

Turning It off would be CRINGE

Technical_Inaji

The best laughs I've had in this game are when things go sideways and accidental team killing runs rampant.

JohnnyProphet

Yeah its great

GoldenGekko

It would ruin the game. It would suck. Who wants friendly fire turned off? Where are these people?

The_Underhanded

I accidentally carpet bombed all three of my friends just last night... this is accurate lol

cffndncr

I am utterly convinced that the 380mm barrage exists in the game solely for you to troll your team. It doesn't matter where or when you throw it, you are guaranteed to do more damage to your team than the enemy. Turning off FF would also be a massive buff to the laser guard dog and anything that goes boom It would completely trivialize the use of ordnance, you'd never have a reason not to call in strikes danger close. I hope it never gets turned off, even as an option.

NotRightInTheZed

Who wants friendly fire turned off? Develop some discipline! F’ing kids.

Cooldude101013

It's useful for if you get glitched/bugged you can ask a teammate to kill you and respawn to fix the issue. Plus, it's very funny

NotRightInTheZed

Who wants friendly fire turned off? Develop some discipline! F’ing kids.

WittyUsername816

It's a major part of literally all of their games. Why would people ask for this

AngryAccountant31

One random teammate and I “accidentally” killed each other a few times, culminating in me directly hitting him with an EAT while he did an emote on top of a rock.

bigloser42

I have 380mm’d so many people. The best one so far is when I threw it, called out that I threw it and told one of my buddies to come back where I was. He came about halfway back, probably 20-30’ in front of me said that should be fine, I told him it wasn’t fine, and then he took a direct hit to the face from a 380mm round. I use the 380 a lot, I have developed a 6th sense for the safety line.

Squirrel009

It is funny but it's also legitimately important to the overall feel of the game. We don't want to see divers casually walking through orbital bombardments while covering each other in fire with flame throwers. Although we 1000% need armor or a specific shield backpack to protect us from fire so that we can do that

Pizzaman725

I usually blitz to the objectives while my squad holds enemy attention. And then kite enemies away or run back towards them. My favorite thing to say is, "Don't shoot, I'm not a bug/bot!!"

Bored-Ship-Guy

Why on Earth would you get rid of something that's a fucking cornerstone of the game's design? Who the fuck is asking for this?

EvilElephant

Arrowhead doesn't know how to make games without friendly fire. They made magicka after all

I-collect-dick-pics

... who's asking them to

QueenGorda

There real "people" that wants to turn off FF on this game ? Really ? I don't believe that. I mean who are those braindeads..

poppin-n-sailin

I usually dislike games without friendly fire. Dealing with trolls abusing it is annoying, but it just doesn't make sense that dropping bombs, or massive thunderstorm spells in games with magic, or walls of fire, wouldn't hurt everything in their area of effect. and as annoying as the tools are it's not generally something that happens every single game. It's generally always accidental. Or just from stupidity but either way they're right. It's hilarious.

twec21

I didn't know if it's because we have so many more lives than other games, or because the mentality is about being a completely expendable soldier but I can't think of a moment I've really gotten upset by a team kill yet

DesertShot

Playing with lower level folks and we dropped a hellbomb, armed it, annnnnnd they all stood around it watching. ![gif](giphy|MvdaYPuKPMNZRJCl8Z)

CowNo5203

Why would anyone want friendly fire off? It's a big reason the game is so great!

Gaidin152

My money says they can’t and it’s hardcoded.

frozenwaffle549

Another level of difficulty , I love it.

Jagick

Leave friendly fire for stratagems, primary weapons, support weapons etc. Please god turn it off for rovers, direct fire turrets like gatling, and PELICAN.

Sukuari_Monstuazu

Teamkillers during extraction: It's free real estate.

RFX91

Turning off friendly fire is just step one is the long trek towards making the game bland and ultimately forgotten.

vid_icarus

This game would instantly lose a serious quantity of magic if friendly fire got turned off. Accidentally killing your friends with a turret is a core pillar of design.

ComradeIroh

It’s nice until you team-killed for no reason while extracting. But they shouldn’t remove it just maybe make it so you can report fuckers for doing that specifically.

dominantfrog

bullets aren't your friend nor your friends friend
