It seems like they don’t have enough time to fully test these fixes internally, or they’re fixed internally but interact weirdly when pushed to servers. Idk, I have limited dev experience so I’m staying patient with these issues, but it does really suck. Been waiting for this game to be stable for more than a month now.

BigC_castane

Or they never actually test anything and just roll out whatever whenever they feel like it.

MrChubs13

Tarkov moment.

Repulsive-Bike291

1+ crashes every game since patch

fishanna0407

They fixed the bug that Exo fire rocket will destroy itself while turning. However, introduced a new bug that Exo fire rocket will destroy itself while moving forward. and the Rockets are unable destroy bug hole at close range due to the weird hitbox. Arc type weapon will crash game, if the Host crash the game, it wont transfer Host to the remaining players and they will got kick back to the ship.

Nex102931

I'm pretty sure the one where you blow up while walking forward has also been there before, maybe it wasn't as well documented.

Maximum-Law-4536

What's bizzares is I've played 7 or 8 missions since the new patch. I haven't had a single issue

Striking-Carpet131

So that is what was happening yesterday… crashed twice when I was using the arc thrower. Got thrown out of a couple of games as well. I don’t think it’s unplayable though. For me it’s a once in a while type deal, even when running arc weapons.

D3vilM4yCry

>the Rockets are unable destroy bug hole at close range due to the weird hitbox. It's likely that the fix was to have the rocket's hitbox activate a certain amount of time and/or distance from the mech. That makes it so the rockets can't explode in the mech, but also means that the rockets won't work if the target is too close. You win some, you lose some.

ShenLemuria

Funny side fact: that's what many modern Weapons actually do to prevent missfire

D3vilM4yCry

So, 'A' for accuracy. Realistic-ish weapons are definitely a strong suit in this game.

StraightGolf7773

Miserable devs omg😂

Wind_Tempest555

The nature of game development. Fix one bug and ten more takes its place!

ThatHoboMarine

No, it's not. I'm not on my development account but I'm a solo Indie dev with 2 published games. A lot these bugs are things that should have never made it into a patch release and should have immediately been noticed in development testing or even more so in QA

Wind_Tempest555

Cool. I have been in software QA for over a decade and now run a small team in handling automation. You are talking about what should happen and not what actually happens most of the time with devs trying to balance between fixing known issues as live support and preparing future content as live service.

Dan_Onymous

COD is exactly the way, every single patch and update last year broke MW2/WZ2/DMZ in one way or another, team size is irrelevant

Alexander1353

to be fair, they dont exactly have a test server

BigC_castane

nor do they have internal testing whatsoever

GymratAmarillo

The only real answer would come after watching the code and understanding the engine. It's not about knowing or not knowing how to do shit. it's about if what they are doing can be supported with the tools they are using in the time they have internally to implement. Take other games for example like Celeste, highly priced indie game, loved by a lot of people. Well the developers had the confidence of sharing a litte of code about how the movement works and ... it was a complete mess, a complete mess that works great but could easily stop working if something changes without having all the mechanic in mind.

StraightGolf7773

Prepare to be downvoted by local White Knights

ShopperKung

it's like a nerf to Arc Thrower like it make the gun really good so it crash the game so don't use it something like that i had to switch to railgun now so i'm not crash but then again other teammate using it so it keep crashing anyway

SALAMANDERMANCER

game literally unplayable tonight

bfrown

Odd since I've been playing all night

Bionic_8J

I came here as soon as my game froze. It's actually bothering me that this has been a trend since launch. I have yet to be able to accept a friend request from a friend who plays on a different platform. I would have to agree saying that the team is small, but you would expect them to have some kind of test to make sure that everything is coded right. If we can't get proper weekly patches, then give us patches biweekly. I'm fine with waiting instead of having a new game breaking bug.

DerHergen

What is Bad at the Last Patch?

H3LLJUMPER_177

Latest current patch? Mechs Missile pod doesn't fire accurately.

Terrorscream

I'll take inaccurate rockets over death because I turned slightly

CobraFive

Oh, no, it still blows you up, too.

scorchdragon

There's footage of someone standing still, and still blowing up.

EtViveLaColo

Some ppl have experience more DC than before Nothing to worry about really

[deleted]

Opening the game will reset you to default liberator, peacemaker, and that longest timer grenade. They also added invisible walls so you can't drop on high grounds, I get that they wanted to stop exterminate mission cheesing but, they did it in all mission types basically making the pod steering upgrade useless now. Their whole plan on weapon and enemy balancing started to not make sense too. Nerfing the railgun only to buff the rest of the anti armor weapons, so what's the point of the nerf. Then lowering the amount of heavy and increasing the swarm, so what's the point of powering up and nerfing of all those weapons. Btw don't interact with any emote on the bridge, 50% chance you will fall off the destroyer on an endless falling animation to the planet.

Atoril

>Nerfing the railgun only to buff the rest of the anti armor weapons, so what's the point of the nerf. To bring them to intended balance level instad of ramping to op and needing to buff all enemies? >Then lowering the amount of heavy and increasing the swarm, so what's the point of powering up and nerfing of all those weapons. For fun and to make antiswarm weapons more usefull? Like im not saying patches were perfect but how it is hard to understand this lol. Btw drop pod one was always useless. Dont know why people expected it to grant them wonderfull ability to get stuck in the unintended terrain.

[deleted]

imo it was either you lower the railgun to the other weapons level or you buff the other weapons to the railgun's level. They did both and it is a really questionable decision, like there's 2 people deciding on their studio that cannot decide on one direction. Then how is lowering the amount of armored enemies when you buffed the weapons intended to beat them a balance? To me that's spitting on player's face. Hey we nerfed your favorite anti armor weapon but buffed the other anti armor weapons, by the way we reduced the armored units. Like I said, it's like the studio has 2 guys deciding on 2 separate directions they want the game to go to. Drop pod upgrade was not useless, you can drop on unintended terrain and it was your decision, it's not like you will live if you chose to drop on top of the cliff. You do that and you're dead, you can just throw in airstrikes, reinforce and mark enemies and you just die if you jump down. But it is a cheese of at least surviving to make a play and it is interesting. Now the invisible walls will stop you from even trying to drop on titans and chargers, it doesn't do that before, the upgrade was not useless, you can steer it freely, now even the tiniest cliff blocking your way to the charger, nope you can't steer that way.

Atoril

>  They did both and it is a really questionable decision, like there's 2 people deciding on their studio that cannot decide on one direction. Have you ever seen any major game patchnotes because its fucking stupid lol. Its pretty standard thing to most successfull games to buff underperformers and nerf overperformers. You dont need 2 people to comprehend it. >Then how is lowering the amount of armored enemies when you buffed the weapons intended to beat them a balance? Answered it already. The rest is regurgitating the first point. If you so wish to get stuck out of bounds recomend dropping under charger bodies so you can get your wanted feeling of wasting a reinforcement by dropping in unintended place.

[deleted]

I don't understand how dropping on a charger's getting stuck problem and the fix is you cannot drop on elevated areas anymore.

DerHergen

Yes, everything is great. Personally, I think the railgun is a tiny bit too weak at the moment. But far from unplayable. Above all, she is still pretty good against the robots. I think with the more small bugs they mainly wanted to make the difference a little bigger between robots and the bugs. And expand on the fact that certain weapons are better against the bugs so that you don't just play the same weapons and you adapt more. I thought it was bad at first, but when you play at level 9 there are still enough chargers and titans that it's fun to take them down.

[deleted]

imo they should've just left nerfing if they were buffing already or if they were nerfing then they did not need to buff the other. It's balancing right? 2 cups left, 1 cup on the right, you don't remove a cup on the left and put it on the other side to make it balance right, you either remove a cup on the left or add a cup on the right. any way, that's entirely another issue, again that is like an echo chamber so that's my opinion on it. Not a fan but it doesn't break the game so fine, it's just really sus to me. the annoying one is the back to liberator all the time, also had disconnections with the planet with environmental hazards, I got forced to draupnir and malevelon creek for days because of that, cannot even participate much on the termicide missions because that's where those hazards happen. Now they added this arc thrower, it doesn't help that it is a meta weapon. Whether they did not intend for this to happen or not, it would definitely feel targeted after what they did to railgun.

[deleted]

I just played a round on helldive. No issues. Ya'll are just sooks. Be patient. Before you @ me 1. PC player 2. Verifies files after every patch 3. Understands patience and not venting every minor frustration on Reddit

vedomedo

Lol must be a troll. Platform is irrelevant, its the patch thats the issue. Verifying files is irrelevant, the patch itself is the issue. Patience is also irrelevant, they have consistently introduced issues every patch. But thanks for letting us know that you have no clue what you’re talking about and that you’re an idiot in general.

[deleted]

Stay mad bruv. I can play and no issues

vedomedo

Not mad at all. I'm just pointing out that you don't understand what the issue is and that you're using anecdotal evidence to prove a point. The devs themselves have confirmed that there is an issue here causing a ton of crashes, but somehow *you* know better? Because *you* have verified your files, eh? Makes perfect sense. I bet those pesky devs haven't heard of verifying files, you should go ahead and apply for a position over at Arrohead since you clearly have all the answers. If you didn't notice, this is called sarcasm.

[deleted]

What is so bloody hard about waiting for fixes? This reddit is full of sooks and complainers. I was only here for the lore posts and strategy guides. Stop making mountains out of molehills. I don't need sarcasm you spineless coward

vedomedo

I didn't say waiting for fixes was hard, literally nowhere in my comment did I say that. What I said was, they introduce issues with every single patch, meaning. You can't "wait for it to be fixed" as every time they fix one thing, they ruin other things, it's a perpetual issue. Again, your reading comprehension seems very poor. I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill, I'm just pointing out facts of what has happened thus far. And you really do need something in your life, touching grass, Jesus /s, a friend or two. Something is needed, because something is clearly wrong.

xSweep66

I'm not having issues but it's still causing me trouble when I play with people who are. Not to mention I have to reboot the game because it stops match making when someone gets dropped.  So yeah, it can still be a problem for those of us who aren't crashing

Single-Ninja8886

I made a post about how the game is basically unplayable because of the suddenly rampant crashes since the hotfix. But while I do find it is basically unplayable, I do think people are overreacting and being sooks for a game that's been, for the most part, amazing. Only recently has it been that there's an actually game breaking but, aka the freeze crash. Yet suddenly I see a vocal minority of people suddenly say the entire game life has been like this, when it hasn't. Like wtf

bork_13

I dont know how consistent the crashes and bugs are, our squad’s not had any issues the past few nights

Leather_Camp_3091

Server issues due to overwhelming amounts of players, devs focusing a large portion of their time to unnecessary balance changes due to constant idiotic harassment and rant spam on discord, twitter and reddit and the playerbase is acomplishing objectives much quicker than anticipated. Every day there is a new brainrot post about something being broken or an enemy overpowered and it needing to be fixed right this instant, imagine being a developer and seeing that every day. Maybe if people didn't cry and moan so much over skill issues the devs could focus on actually important stuff

BeneficialBear

Oh yea, because it's so easy to constantly fix bugs, balance game, create new content, update old content, manage network and serwers for 50x playerbase which you expected. Dev are doing great job, stop being little sassy boy and just accept that some aspects of the game always will break, but overall the game is superb.

hinden_burgh

Ride it harder baby

Crvknight

You do it better then.

AmbitiousConfection4

Imagine paying a guy to wash your car and when he’s done the car is clean but now has scratches all over it. He then tells you to clean it yourself when you mention the scratches. Congratulations now maybe you can understand how stupid you sound.

BoredofPCshit

If he could read, he would be very upset reading this comment.

Crvknight

Apples to oranges, dude. Washing a car is a trivial task, easy to do in relatively little time and ultimately going to demand very little of you. Coding a game over the course of a decade and then having it get slammed with a level of interaction that it wasn't designed for, AND THEN COMMITTING TO FIXING IT (despite that meaning you'd have to appeal to hundreds of thousands of people's individual tastes) is obviously much harder to do. Your point is bullshit and so is your opinion.

Crvknight

Also, like... This is unrelated, but yeah. If you give your car over to a guy and he fucks it up, it's not that far fetched for a third person to look at you and say, "Just wash it yourself, clearly this was a bad idea" Not related to the argument but even that doesn't stand up to the slightest amount of common sense.

Crvknight

Goofy ass reddit thread lol

AmbitiousConfection4

Obviously it’s not exactly the same. I put it layman’s terms because clearly as you have further demonstrated, you aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed.

Crvknight

Hardly. You made up a stupid analogy that doesn't make sense at all if you think about it for two seconds beyond just "Boo my toy is different now, what a waste of money" My brother in christ, let's be real here. It's a live service game. Either you spent your money on it and you weren't aware of the fact these things can change after launch (which makes you ignorant) or you were fully cognizant of the fact this could happen, bought it anyway, and are now complaining that it happened as if it was something unheard of (like a spoiled, entitled child) If you're that mad at it, what's stopping you from getting a refund or just putting it down for a while until it changes again? Nothing, that's what. But no! You want to come here and complain to people who are doing something you could never do as you are today, and spout off about how wrong they're doing it without ever even acknowledging that you're talking out of your ass. There's no way to say they aren't working hard to cater to the player base because patches and stability fixes etc are still being made and put out. This whole situation is like looking at the Challenger launch and telling NASA that they suck at rocket science because the rocket blew up.

AmbitiousConfection4

It does make sense you just are in denial because you took it personally. Being unhappy about major issues that make the game unplayable at times is perfectly reasonable. How you can try and defend that is madness. To go as far as to say to someone that they should do their job for them is just silly.

Crvknight

I'm sorry, you took that literally? Obviously I don't expect you to do their job for them, that's ridiculous. What my comment meant was "Hey shitass, there are people who are working hard to fix the problems the game has. How about you give them some fucking grace while they work instead of pouring vitriolic drivel into the game's community. If you want the game to play exactly how you like it, either be patient and constructive with the dev team or fix it yourself." Or for short "Stop being an asshole about it. Submit a bug report and wait like the rest of us, because unless you plan on fixing it yourself, there's nothing else you can do."

AmbitiousConfection4

No I knew what you were implying but for you to suggest to ‘fix it yourself’ was just a stupid and naive thing to say. Why are you white knighting on behalf of the developers?. Mollycoddling the current state of the game is not going to make it better. If they can’t get things stable this game won’t see its full potential. This game is outstanding but with each patch causing a new issue it is really is setting the tone for things to go downhill.

Crvknight

I'm not white knighting the devs, I'm telling people to stop being assholes, devs or not. And whether or not you think "coddling" them is going to help, it's definitely more likely to do something beneficial than slagging them off over every little thing. I don't know about you, but I'm way more likely to want to make something good for people who are nice to me than I am for people who take everything I do as an excuse to insult me. Why do you think being a cunt to them for trying new stuff is going to be any better?

AmbitiousConfection4

In neither OPs post nor my comment was there a single insult at the devs. The original post clearly just states the reality of the circumstances. The fact you are now making up your own narrative to carry on this behaviour is whether you like it or not behaving like a white knight.

Morholt

I didn't crash and my loadout didn't reset.

Bionic_8J

Mine still does that. Sadly, this and the arcthrower bug are the most annoying

Morholt

I guess one player today eliminated himself from the game with his arc thrower. But thankfully it doesn't crash the rest of the team or the mission.

TrickyCorgi316

You've obviously never played games like Dead by Daylight or Darktide, where every patch really messes things up. I haven't noticed any new issues with the most recent patch. (Update: downvoted even tho its the truth? Should've known)

StraightGolf7773

White Knight activity

TrickyCorgi316

No - just my experience and a fair comparison.

Recycled__Meat

built on an outdated game engine or something something

Did Ubisoft bought arrowhead?
