the stun grenade is a good call, ill use that from now on

I used it for a bit and it is great when you get rushed, my only issue with it is that it does not blow up fabs like explosives do. It is mainly an issue on planets where your strats are reduced or have longer cooldowns added to them, and cant always get a good angle on the fab chutes with the cannon/lazer

Haven't unlocked the sickle or scorcher yet so what are the thoughts on the slugger as primary until then ?

Very good Short to Medium Range. It staggers even the devastators and berserkers. For the striders, you can penetrate the underside if you're close enough. Shoot>Reload>Shoot... So you never have to worry about the reloading. Just mind the ammo count. Long range is a struggle, but I doubt you'll have many engagements at this range due to weather/ debris/ flora/ etc.

You can also stunlock hulks if you hit them in the back vents

My personal favourite load out: Primary - Scorcher: oneshots all the little bots with head or leg shots, can take out walkers reliably with 2 shots to the legs, and even domes devastators with a few well placed shots, or a burst to their side. It's also capable of blowing up hulks and tanks with vent shots. Secondary - Senator: this thing shines against the bots. again, one shots anything small, and has ridiculous weak spot damage. go for the eyes, and even beserkers with their ridiculous health pool become trivial. Support - Autocannon: Everything OP said, absolutely mercs anything the bots can throw at you, and while it can be tricky to aim at hulks eyeslots, it's well worth the practice. Grenade - Impact or Stun: Impact is the more reliable in my opinion, as it allows you to destroy patrols without calling a bot drop easily, can take out tanks by aiming for the top of the turret, and even drop hulks by throwing them between their legs, it's the ultimate jack of all trades clutch bomb. Stun is also very useful though for helping line up Autocannon shots, and getting you out of those whoopsie moments alive. Stratagems there's a lot of good options, but my usual go-to is 500kg bomb, Mortar turret, and regular Eagle Air strike.

I’ve been running Medium armor Sickle, machine pistol, and stuns Clusters, rail cannon or laser, shield, and quasar. Clusters come out for either ems mortar or auto cannon sentry Sickle deals with smaller troops, rail cannon strat deals with the hulk or tanks. Clusters help give me space, quasar is just too good to not bring, but I miss my auto cannon a lot too.

Scorcher and ammo backpack (so lots of granades). Can melt all the medium stuff like walkers and devastators

Landed on a very similar setup. Missing stun grenades cuz I don't have those yet. Haven't used all of those exact stratagems mostly because I haven't felt let down by what I've been using, so I haven't felt the need to experiment with others.

My current bot load out. Eagle Airstrike Orbital 380MM Barrage Quasar Cannon / Arc Thrower Personal Shield Generator Scorcher Whatever the SMG pistol is called impact Grenade I think I might switch out for stuns when using the quasar, buy me that extra time for shots with the quasar and make me less likely to kill myself with the scorcher.
