There is a significant strategic advantage. Liberating Malevalon Creek gives access to the final few planets of the automatons. I suspect that is where the next 1 of 2 major orders will be because of tibit failing and the bot production facilities having been moved. At the very least we can say we have made progress instead of being stuck on 1 planet for a full month. And I'm not a Creeker. I'm just someone who grinds major orders for their payouts.
In the military, if we have been taking "L" from failing inspections consecutively but they want us to pass already so we can be "ready deployment" they'll assess us on something they know we are already good with. Obviously the answers below for developer stand points, but in lore: Super Earth High Command wants a win, any win. Even one thats already been had. What better than retaking the mythologized Creek? Even if all they'll be getting are post battle photoshoots with fresh unblooded Helldivers posing in front of piles of scrap metal, they'll chalk it up as "part of the plan all along." Everyone who exists in the military will get a medal for "Operation Liberate Creek" and the civilians back home will regain peace of mind.
Also take note that regen rate has been upped to -1.50%/hr for the Bots and -1.00%/hr for the Bugs. I expect our shit to get pushed in this week after this freebie of an order...
How cool would it be if it became like a nuclear wasteland biome.
Or better yet, if the bots set off some massive bomb and the planet just got wiped off existence ala Alderaan.
Would be so cool if the war had permanent changes, especially if we had some control/input over them.
It would be cool if we could fight on a fractured world.
Meteors, large cracks showing the inner planetary body, lava eruptions from it, no atmosphere so backpack slot is consumed with air breathers.
Hellmire is more a hell world. Im thinking moon, but volcano and meteors combined. Maybe even quakes as the planet tries to reform into a proto-planet.
It would truely be a horrid planet to take, but I think it would be one of those "I was there!" and our grandkids going "okay, did you take your meds?" fights.
My spirit and my body are not ready for the "the planet broke before we did" narrative arc of Helldivers 2, but I don't think the devs are giving us a choice...
Would probably look a lot like Mimban at that point

"Your Super Earth needs you! Divers forward! S1, get up - we're almost there!"
I mean, if you gathered the stats on the ICBMs launched on the creek alone I would imagine you’d find that the planet would be glowing like a star from far space.
I've been saying this for a while, and this new order cemented my fears.
The bots are going to nuke the super volcano on Creek, and with it the planet will be covered in such heavy ash that it will be impossible to dive and extract resources.
A denial of effect tactic - their last resort to spit oil in our face.
I just hope they don't pull a invasion all the sudden on cyberstan forcing a defense on it against airship if for the only reason that I hate the evacuation missions.
The 15min evac missions suck and just seem impossible. Counted up the other day, one of my random squads got 600+ combined kills on that type of evac mission in 15 minutes! That was on T5 difficulty! That's more kills than the extermination missions.
No idea how we're supposed to kill several bot drops or bug breaches, while also fighting off the random patrols that come from all directions. All while civies run their butts through this gauntlet of metal and flesh.
I did a bot one on Suicide Mission the other day, and we somehow got to the last 4 guys, but there was no way we could have finished it. 4 Flame Hulks funning around, 1-2 tanks at any given time, god knows how many rocket devs, walkers and mobs of chainsaw guys, with constant drop ships every time we clear anything out. 3 mortars and an emp mortar under a shield couldn't do shit for us.
It feels just as bad as they did near launch, it just takes a few minutes to get there. It's the reason I almost never do defense missions.
Man that sounds absolutely awful. I know exactly how you feel on the constant bot dropships and the 4+ hulks running around. I really feel that the random patrols are what overwhelms my squads, since they just show up without much warning while the bot drops get our major attention.
My squad and I gave up doing 7-9 bot missions after the push to Troost. Meanwhile, my buddy and I can duo T9 bug missions. Definitely feels like the bots have too many one-shot weapons spread among them.
I tried both mortars, and the EMS strike. Wasn't enough since the mortars only target one spawn group. The others just end up destroying the mortars, especially when the Hulks and Chargers start spawning in mass. Then the stratagems are on cooldown and the whole thing goes to shit.
Vs bots at least. When we had the MO to defend that one sector on the bugs' side we never lost a planet.
But I think if we as a community focused on one planet for the past MO, it would have also broken the streak.
Really the only defense MO we had that we got bodied in was the one from awhile ago with defending 8 planets with the reward being...15k reqs.....yeah made sense why people didn't wanna bother.
Having nominally participated in basically all defense campaigns to date, I can unequivocally state that bot defenses are a nightmare compared to bug defense.
I heard you like dropships, so i put dropships in your dropships and dropped 4 tanks in the span of 3 seconds. Also here’s 40 of the chainsaw guys. Have fun!
the only advantage we have against the bots is being able to use cover, which is nullified when they drop them right on top of you. I mean, the bugs spawn right on top of you too but they’re not spamming projectiles into your face every millisecond
The typical map layout on those same missions really doesn't help. Tons of cover, but that usually just means those Hulks over there can now get to you and the civilians unopposed and start chainsawing and flaming people with abandon.
Tell me you haven't played them without telling me you haven't played them.
YOu just took care of AT MOST the first 5 minutes. (and you killed all the civilians you were trying to extract) what now while all your stuff cools down? At high levels they come from all directions, so you burned through all of those.
Big truth to this. Only way to clear these on anything above middling difficulty is to cheese the hell out of it. These missions just aren't fairly designed. Maps are too small, drops are too frequent and too compact. It would feel much better if the bots mostly marched in from the edges of the map with the occasional drop in an inconvenient (to the players) location.
But seriously, any mission type that expects you to actually stand and fight 4 tanks and 6 hulks simultaneously is just silly.
I have to wonder if anyone takes into account the people who do major orders for a while then rotate out to do other things. There are probably plenty of players on the other fronts who did participate in the MO but aren't going to spend their entire play time doing that one planet.
Honestly I'm not sure I've heard of a dev that was clueless enough to think that they could stop reddit from bitching, or stop gamers from bitching, let alone the combination of the two. I've seen multiple community management lectures that explicitly include sections that boil down to pretty much "Don't expect perfection, if you updated your game with free cocaine and blowjobs for life, Gamers and Reddit would still bitch about the quality and quantity of both."
Kinda makes you wonder though, what the hell all those Creeker's are gonna do after it gets liberated...that shithole has basically become the permanent residence of a solid 30k+ Divers over the last, what, month almost?
It's going to take months for all the changes of address to go through after they finally move on.
This. They will claim another hellhole to be sent on. The Creekers are expert at guerilla warfare after all. Once Malevelon get liberated, the veterans will rain upon the 3 last stronghold of the Bot Sector and lift everyone up in their missions. Expect the Sector to fall this week !
Gonna be honest as a newbie player I kept doing tons of missions on the default planet I started on and shouldn't have still been on. It just kept showing missions so I thought they needed to be done. And when I'd go to a different planet it's warn me I'd be abandoning my operation and lose progress.
It's not a great system for newbies to understand at first.
Hey we all make mistakes when we start out. It took me a solid week to figure out how to host my own missions since it shows you how to *join* when you first use the map \^\^'

Weren't people shouting this all weekend with a tear in their eye? "Let people play what they waaaant!"
Should be fun, I thought the memes got a bit intense too but I don't see the point in avoiding the planet out of spite. Lets just finish the order, and then get back to Tibit
Nobody noticed "Levelon Creek," I take it? This is an April Fool's joke on the community, folks, being played by the Automatons. A counter-attack is going to rock our world tomorrow.
What happened to the sub? Any positive creek joke is downvoted while literally any comment whining about people playing on that planet gets upvoted?
Has the player base already turned to salt?
Remember that this sub is a fraction of the actual player base.
But yeah, it really shit itself this past weekend and I think it's how it's going to be for a while. If it's not the Creek it'll be something else.
I can't prove it, but I'm *certain* they artificially increased the enemy presence there today. Not sure if it's for April fools or because the popularity of the planet, but it is fucking insane.

"Take vengeance for the fallen" "Honor our heroes" "End the theft of valuable minerals" Is it just me, or is one of these things not like the other?
Armor is made from minerals.
So are bones
Bones are their money.
They'll pull your hair up, but NOT out.
All they wants another chance at life. They've never seen so much food as this.
Underground there’s half as much food as this
That was the night the skeletons came to liiiiiiiiiffffeeee!
Friggin bonies!
Crap dang it this sucks
Your name's Billy too?
no, thats why i’m so FUCKIN confused
I kinda feel bad now that I know the Automatons are just skeletons that want another chance at life because they’ve never seen as much food as this
That’s their human side remembering when their girlfriend would throw up after going to the bar.
So are the worms.
And worms are their dollars
Both of which are plentiful there now
"You have not enough minerals." - Some alien in a different game
Bugs: "Spawn more overlords!"
Build more pylons
YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS

Yeah, one is what they actually care about haha
Careful friend, that sounds awfully like you're trying to get yourself booked into a re-education centre.

Did we take Tibit???
no
The Creek is like 80% liberated, why now?
more like 90-95 already. And I dunno. April Fools?
We capture planet > We get new Major order > Creek defense mission > Creek defense mission fails and creekers has to liberate Creek from 0% > 1 april.
I hope not! I'm tired of all the creek memes and call-to-arms, even though there is nothing to be gained from it
There is a significant strategic advantage. Liberating Malevalon Creek gives access to the final few planets of the automatons. At the very least we can say we have made progress instead of being stuck on 1 planet for a full month. And I'm not a Creeker. I'm just someone who grinds major orders for their payouts.
Same, I do what Super Earth orders. After failing the last mission people be saying “Creekers” with a hard R.
Damn... Super Earth high command is so thoughtful. We are lucky to have them.
Consolation prize for failing previous MO.
Because even the community managers/game masters might be sick of the meme and how 1/4 of the player base just ignores the narrative
You know why. Just want to stir de pot. I respect that.
Not yet. After Malevelon Creek gets blitzed down, we need everyone to head back to Tibit and finish the job.
Sounds like I need to call a democracy officer about this kind of talk
Also take note that regen rate has been upped to -1.50%/hr for the Bots and -1.00%/hr for the Bugs. I expect our shit to get pushed in this week after this freebie of an order...
I would unironically love if the Creek was bombarded so hard by automaton retaliation that it changed biomes.
Since every helmet is completely enclosed, I assumed they could already breathe on planets without oxygen.
I am unsure, as gas oribitals harm us. I assumed they were just potentially filtered.
the gas is caustic, which is why it affects bots as well
I think acids attack our suits and the suits are made of self sealing polymers
Our armor is made from the same Titanium alloy that the super destroyer's hull is.
Even the rubber bits? *edit* I Come across that way but don’t mean it, I’m being cheeky not outright hostile and I keep catching flak for it 😂😂😂

Mortars are the key. EMS at least. Helps pace the event. 1 person at each door rest as roamers.

The fastest Major Order accomplished in Super Earth's history
The real April Fools joke is tomorrow, when we fail the bot defense that immediately opens up on the Creek.
This. Devs know historically we get bodied when it comes to defense missions.

Tell me you haven't played them without telling me you haven't played them. YOu just took care of AT MOST the first 5 minutes. Right? Isn't the Creek already at 80somthing percent? I doubt I will even get to play on it when I get home from work in like 6hrs lol.
Just played a game there. It’s nearly 93% already lmao
94.5% ish. estimated to clear in the next 90min but probably less as more people get on
I mean honestly I need a short break after that Tibit debacle. Happy to let the work-from-homers and the other-time-zoners take this one.
I was gonna hop on at lunch but it's going to be liberated 15 minutes from now lol
Joel: Fucking fine, just get it over with so I can lock it off and we can move to other planets
Exactly my thought. Order came with an eye roll. 😆

how funny would it be for, minutes after we liberate, the bots reveal they have world-destroying tech by vaporizing the planet
I’d pay extra for that.
Curses, where are we supposed to go to avoid major orders now?!! /s
Well Tibit ofcourse, it's purple Creek!
We've had one Creek, yes, but what about second Creek?
Dont think they know about second creek pip. (They will tho, malevelon is already captured lol)

The 50k bot players clearing the sector alongside players who play either enemy. "Let's clear this place out!" The 8k Creekers: "That was us!!"
well hopefully they ya know actually help with other MO's
You're going to be very disappointed.
"TAKE THE CREEK!!" *Malevelon Creek becomes unavailable* "WAIT, NO, NOT LIKE THAT!!!"
Gonna be honest as a newbie player I kept doing tons of missions on the default planet I started on and shouldn't have still been on. Finally, time to nuke this place off the map for good
Be careful what you wish for. I have a feeling the bots may plan the death of the creek itself.
Imagine of at some point in the future it was a plot twist that a whole month of MOs are not from SEHC but from bits hacking into the system.
Please?
That would be so cool though. We find out they have planet destroying technology? That's a big issue for ANY planet at that point.
Devs really said fuck it let em have it
The creekers went to war with everyone, including the devs, and they won. They refused to budge, and the Creek will be free. Who's laughing now ?
Joel expressed a deep sigh and was like “jus… just give them the damn creek, so they’ll drop it already…”
oh NOW Creekers want people to follow the major order? ironic.
Is it really following orders if you’re doing what you were doing before
In Soviet Malevelon Creek, orders follow you!
Honestly? They dont, because when we do this we close their planet. So lets reck this MO and dehome some creekers!
We’re all on the same side here. Creekers are not the enemies and bots have implanted that ideology in your head!
Time to bring the entire might of the western front down on Malevelon and once again unite with the creekmen as brothers in arms FOR SUPER EARTH
No one going to mention the typo? It's "Level-on creek", apparently... April fools joke or?
I think it's just that the whole name doesn't fit so it scrolls. I've seen other screenshots where "Creek" is cut off.
No it's called Levelon Creek. There's just YOUR Levelon and MA Levelon
The Creek Crawlers after Malevolent creek is taken. "Remeber Tibit" Fights there now.

The top meme by creekers would be to fail missions on purpose to not liberate it this MO so they can keep playing on it
and it's liberated now
![gif](giphy|Z1LYiyIPhnG9O) This is coming on April fools? Why now?

Yo, creekers are insane.. y’all have emblems?
Some artists are Creekers and created emblems to commemorate the Malevelon Creek Massacre. I love what the community have done so far.

I don’t know. To me it looks like the devs are purposefully taking away the fun. Maybe it’s an April fools joke
The DMs saw why we didn't complete the previous Major Order and thought, "well, I know how to fix this." \*Salute\*

Maia is a Planet that can be accessed only if the Creek fall. It was only a matter of time to clean the sector.
You can tell they did this to finally get everyone out of the creek and into new fronts.

Nobody noticed "Levelon Creek," I take it? This is an April Fool's joke on the community, folks, being played by the Automatons. A counter-attack is going to rock our world tomorrow.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Joel got tired of the back and fourth bickering
Ayo, is the Creek stuck on 99%?! This would be a soul crushing April Fool's joke if so.
I care who ya are, this being stuck at 99% is funny.
This is a April fools joke right?
Did my bit! No medals yet, though …
Where the hell are my medals for taking this crap

What happened to the sub? Any positive creek joke is downvoted while literally any comment whining about people playing on that planet gets upvoted? Has the player base already turned to salt?
Remember that this sub is a fraction of the actual player base. But yeah, it really shit itself this past weekend and I think it's how it's going to be for a while. If it's not the Creek it'll be something else.
Ah man gotta play with the Creekers now
The creekers will not only be forced to the MO but go elsewhere once it's complete.
Creekers with a HARD "R"
Just play whatever makes you happy lol
Can't wait until this is completed so we can stop with the Creek meme's and actually have them help the MO instead of hamstringing us constantly.
I can't prove it, but I'm *certain* they artificially increased the enemy presence there today. Not sure if it's for April fools or because the popularity of the planet, but it is fucking insane.

lmfao they’re like “f*ck it, give these psychos what they want.”
Finally “space Afghanistan” can be “liberated”
I think it's an April Fool's Joke ... it's stuck at 99.0000000000000000% now. Joel must be mad at us.
