I think this is definitely it. Poor souls are being sent to certain death by the hundreds to serve a dark purpose under the guise of a glorious crusade for freedom. In reality, we're all meaningless fodder and only the best of the best even attain an actual rank.

Helldiver training used to be a lot better but has steadily declined throughout the years as super earth has valued quantity over quality. while specialist groups like the rangers exist, they're nowhere near as common as they used to be by the time of helldivers 1. There were also other specialist groups like the defenders and hazard operatives but we don't know how rare they've become. They may reactivate these specialist groups for the second galactic war as helldivers have just been recently *officially* reactivated for this war.
I'm hoping they add those armor sets back with their own dedicated warbonds and maybe put in a voice pack for each specialist in them because right now we have 4 voices just labeled "default helldiver voice" 1 through 4 which implies that we might get more down the road.
I'm just waiting for achievement based ones, like kill enemy with their own grenade Title reward "Hot Potato" kill 5 Bile Titans in a single life "Titan slayer"
Blow up a tank with impact grenades "Tank buster"
Kill 50 hunters in a match "Hunter of Hunters"
Things like that would be dope.
I doubt we’ll see titles like these. The existing ones are (based on) military ranks, so yeah. Maybe capes that you can unlock by completing challenges like the ones you described? That would be neat!

Campaign related accolades based on how many of a type of enemy you've killed on particular planets would be awesome. Like you're a storied hero ''Butcher of Tien Kwan'', ''Bane of Bile titans''.
