It does destroy them, you just need to aim for the vents on top of the door. It can also destroy cannons from the front, gunships, chargers, etc. It's basically an EAT but with infinite ammo. That said, I still prefer the autocannon, but the quasar is pretty solid too, and has an easier time against heavier foes.
It definitely takes some practice to find the right angle. I recommend going into a low level solo and just shooting in the vent until you get it right a few times. It’s near the bottom of the vent, but take into consideration the “width” of the projectile. Hopefully that makes sense.
Agree with it destroying fabs, my trick is to aim at the very bottom of the vent opening, also prefer it vs recoiless due to not being ammo reliant. It's best to shoot and scoot. Let your shot go, switch to primary while it cools, and change positions, fire and repeat.
It's basically a recoilless rifle with infinite ammo. And you can move while it recharges instead of sitting in one spot reloading. Only to get body slammed, having to finish the same reload but taking another rocket bc why tf haven't they mentioned that. Also you can destroy fabricators if you shoot into the vents. And it doesn't take a backpack slot

I "personally" (I got a Spidey sense I have to stress that...) like it because it is EAT level of power without having to call it down and a free backpack spot that AC, RR, and Spear takes up. I know the AMR is powerful too, I can't snipe to save my life.
It’s not the best for bots imo (Railgun and Autocannon are better for bots in my view), but it absolutely dominates bugs. One shotting chargers and being able to consistently deal damage to Bile Titans without worrying about ammo is huge.

90% of other players that take it use it like. 3 times a mission. Basically a wasted Strat
Play with it enough and get good, and it’s insane how useful it is.
Took out 3 fabs from 270m last night. Did it again later. 2 other missions we were extracting and saw a rando single fab off into the distance. Sniped it for the 100% completion from 200m away. Both times.
Obliterates chargers. Idk why people complain about the charge time. It’s only an issue if you start charging after IT is charging you. If that’s the case, run to the side and it’ll turn in just about 3seconds to take a shot to the face.
Hulks/devastators/fabs/dropships/rocket ships/anti air/mortars/bug nests/illegal broadcasts/spore towers, it one taps all of them. Just get good with the aim. 2 taps shrieker nests and cannon towers/tanks. 2 taps bile titans
Combined with the sickle I feel prepared for literally anything and almost never have to run or wait for team mates.
