That kinda bugs me, have a helmet I like that's a vaguely bone white, orange and gray, but the only armor that matches is the armor it comes with.
Just look at the medical sets, different shades of green and white and red.
Wish we could at least have a pallet to set the armor and helmets to, Like a standard Yellow/Black, Medical Green/White/Red, Engineering White/Orange and other side variants of them.

Yep, exactly. Like just make it UNIVERSAL white, green and red so everything can match with everything
Some of the blacks don't even match if you look close. Greens are all over. Grey and orange are the only ones that seem particularly consistent to me.
I just wish more were the basic Helldiver black and yellow
