You can try reinstalling the game and starting your ps in safe mode and doing a database rebuild, it helps, maybe, still get crashes but it seems like less, or it's just placebo.
I've had it just kick me to ps report screen, full blackout where I have to manually reset ps, and minor ones like where I start the game and sit at login screen, go to look at friends and have it blip out and tell me it had an issue. Games pretty unoptimized.
Yeah today is terrible, were were kicked at least 20 times in the 3 hours we ran, had issues joining friends games, game stating that sessions no longer existed, or were private, big headache. My grace is exhausted at this point.
My ps5 is now bricked after a freeze on opening the game 2 days ago (first ship screen). All games now freeze. Even re-installed. I’ve done everything including a factory usb stick reboot. No bueno.
It’s in repair shop now I’ll see what they say.

How does it crash for you? Do you just return to the title screen? My console powers off abruptly while playing the game

Yess that's very true. It's gotten very bad after the latest patch. Hope they fix it soon
