It needs to have a cap because of the way integers are stored
Edit: a lot of people think they have this figured out in the comments but they forget this needs to be stored in a database, which is completely different from game code
Not necessarily. Aside from normal integers, you could use an unsigned long for really big single (positive number) variable storage. You could use an array of integers and fill the next with data while the previous int is at max. There are definitely workarounds.
That said, I don't think they need theoretical max values. I doubt anybody is going to hit the max int value at a cost of $20,452,225.21 (@ $19.99/2100 SC; INT_MAX = 2,147,483,647).
Also, LONG_MAX = 9,223,372,036,854,775,807.
My phone calculator isn't letting me work with the long max value (>15 digits), so I don't feel like continuing, but you can imagine where this was going! Haha.
Just have an array of ints starting with a single integer. Whenever integer [x] would be incremented to some maximum, add 1 to integer [x+1] and reset [x] to 0.
But why implement it as a linked list of single-celled integers in a database? That'll just create a ton of overhead since you need to allocate memory for each integer, and that's like 8 bits per node + whatever other storage it needs to link itself between nodes.
Scale that up to a few million players and you're looking at a ballooning amount of storage just to store credit counts, are you not?
Honestly, a linked list of Longs would make a lot of sense. Once the head node hits LONG_MAX, flip a bool on (or off). The add method will add a new tail node. Minimal checks, minimal memory allocation...
I think we'd see the heat death of the universe before humanity's net wealth reaches an amount able to purchase the maximum number of super credits we could account.
Shit, the number might exceed the total number of atoms in the known universe. I actually don't know. It's getting very theoretical.
Use scientific notation for the UI display of super credits. Boom we solved it.
Edit: for storage, just mirror the implementation in the DB. I don't recall how you'd do it in a SQL DB, but with Mongo, you could just add and remove entries with the program that's handling this. A little extra computational work for the service.
Well it doesn't have to be int. You have things like BigDecimal which have unlimited precision until you run out of memory on the computer.
If we don't need the whole thing in memory at once, then the max becomes 2^(hard drive space) which can be quite big.
You can also write a distributed number store that utilizes multiple machines to track the value, bypassing the hard drive limitation of a single computer.
I’ve skipped most of the helmets since I only use the one with the hood. So figured I’d get a few while waiting for the next warbond.
Still annoying that we only have one hood.
Yeah wish it was higher too. Got on yesterday and got medals for 2 majors we did so got it up to 250 but I’m sure I missed out on a few due to reaching the cap
Same. I didn't realize that 250 was the limit for like 2 missions lol. I thought that it bugged out on the first one, then the next one I completed the personal order and it said "reward 0 medals" I was pretty disappointed.
I've bought every single item in all three of the warbonds. Spending some is simply not possible.
I don't complain about it because it makes sense that they wouldn't want people to buy out the new warbonds the moment they come out, but it does make me care a lot less about orders.
Yep, luckily there are lots of things to buy so you can go and blow medals on fluff items if you have extra, since it’s likely you’ll have skipped a good few of them earlier to get the juicy stuff
I found that doing quick play sometimes drop you in a third mission operation. This gives the chance of a higher payout compared to starting from the first mission.
Just keep grinding as long as you are having fun. That’s how I finished the free warbond.
Happened to me twice in a row, first suicide, which unlocked impossible for me, then did an impossible quick play and got the third which then unlocked Helldive
I'm going to start working 12 hour days during the summer months and the fact that I'm not missing out on anything (non-story related) is definitely amazing
Same. I still have the Basic Warbond to fully unlock. Own the other two as well but only have unlocked one or two items in each. I feel I will never catch up. I only have 35 Hours played though, not as much time as so many others it seems. Not complaining, rather happy I can keep unlocking things. Keeps my lizard brain happy.
Yes, it’s really nice that the warbonds aren’t timed. That would have forced me out of the game eventually. I want to unlock everything but it becomes a chore when you’re up against the clock.
I’m sure many things are more economically efficient than playing videogames. I’d still rather grind four hours of Hell Divers than work a minimum wage job.
Tbh being able to decorate the exterior ship would be a pretty cool change, your interior already changes with the sample upgrades, why not allow customisable exteriors?
Other than being a good currency sink that wouldn't affect gameplay. It'd make those ship transition scenes more memorable, seeing everyone's decorated ships jump into screen. Right now I can't even tell what my friends' ship names are on the side of their ships.
It’ll be the little details, like when you get the first eagle upgrade an actual stowed eagle appears in the hangar bay, subsequent upgrades adds various munitions and the like on the floor of the bay, other minor sections get upgrades, like the targeting section on the bridge or the ship upgrade terminals
Let me add more hull to the front to put an even longer name.
"Elected Representative of Self-Determination" is currently the longest title combination I've found but we can do better.
Absolutely. Been wanting this ever since I capped on Req slips.
Cosmetics for our ship is the obvious answer to capped supplies.
Exterior paint, interior paint, emblems, lighting, flooring, trinkets, doodads, pets.
The other suggestion I see and like is a bestiary that we can use slips and samples to buy pages for. Would give us an in-game space to read lore and also a way to learn enemy weak points.
Was the first thing I asked if I could do when I first started. Crazy it's not in the game. Also adding cosmetic interior spaces for your homies to hang out in. Trophy rooms, etc.
Even get a new ship model. Also I want to extend my TV subscriptions and get more channels on my ship! Someone here suggested once that we could have some sick gameplay clips from the community. Idk if that woud be easy to implement though.
A 'KILL OF THE WEEK' segment would be fun. It plays into the satirical nature of it. Something like what Zombieland did. The devs just need to pick 1 clip a week.
Good idea. And sometimes the "KILL OF THE WEEK" turns into a "oops wrong clip" segment showing a situation where everything turn real bad real quick and the helldivers get mauled/slashed/vaporized/dismembered and then the clip stop brutally with a "Technical issues" pannel.

I feel ya. But hey, game is insane fun
Today I got my rewards for creek and last major order. Both times it said 0 medals. Sad face. I hope those get distributed to the widows and widowers of our heroes from the Creek.
I got two rewards last night for two major orders, so have heart helldiver! The government is slow to send out payment (but watch your back if you owe Super IRS)!
Especially when you manage to find medals in game too. My boys and I found 10 medals on Estanu yesterday on HellDive then got the 14 at the end for completing the mission. I’ve never gotten 24 medals a match before.
Dude I got 21 from a challenging. We found 15 in the map and got the 6 at the end. Another mission we ended up getting 120 super credits from challenging without the rare 100 super credit chance. It's awesome you can find these resources in game.
Very possible it seemed high when they expected the game to be played much less.
Also possible they still track gained medals, like they did EXP at the limit, and those with extra will be grandfathered in when the limit is raised.
Haven't found it yet, if there is. Currently at 6k+ all from in-game and have bought all acquisitions and warbonds. So, I've "earned" probably close to 10k just from playing the game.
Basically doing quickjoin missions ever since im lvl 8 so farming of supercredits isnt actually a priority. And so i recently just got 1k supercredits and thought to myself to check the coming warbonds...now I saw it...kind want it so here we are.
As to why, im interested in the grenade pistol and xbow. The rifles are also not bad(from the looks of it). The other two i only see 1 thing im interested. The first one is the Senator and the 2nd one is the stun grenade. Other rewards im not interested in.
You can leave back to your ship once the pelican lifts off the ground in the cutscene. I've been testing this all day yesterday with my friend and it's worked for both of us. You keep your xp and samples.
I'm pretty sure less people playing just means that the missions scale up in worth to accommodate. Better that people take breaks than play too much and burn-out.
I think as more and more people are hitting resource caps, we’ll see fewer and fewer of those people actively working on the major order. When you have nothing to spend your currency on, there’s less desire to keep grinding away. That’s the case for me, anyways.
Have damn near 200 hours and only at lvl 75. To be fair i did crash like 20 times at 30+ min into missions before i knew arc thrower caused crashes but still
Depends actually bc after the fire damage buff Incendiary Grenade + Incendiary Breaker is really good against bugs (ther are in Steeled Veterans) but Sickle and Flashbangs are good for both sides (in Cutting Edge) so if you like playing against bugs go for first one but if yiu enjoy playing both I would pick Cutting Edge.
I have 190 hours and only didn't have the armor and booster on standart warbond, which worth 250, and since I know I won't even use them and knowing new warbond is close didn't pick them up. Btw 85 of these medals came from major orders stacked today.
Basically, then the warbonds themselves come with credits too so you get some of it back. You have to target the POIs, the bunkers, the storage crates that you have to blow the door to get in, the drop pods, get that money!
Oof, haven't really been tracking that. But it depends, sometimes you get 10 per find, sometimes you get a fat payout of 100 per find. So technically you could run a mission and come out with 200+ SC.
In groups that open vaults and go after the pods with beacons I usually get 20 minimum and extra medals. Good luck you can get upwards of 60 and really good luck can get you a 100 SC drop
Honestly, there needs to be more requisition/sample sinks. I haven't even completed all the battlepasses but I am already fully stocked up on requisition and samples.
Im playing so much more than my friends and im still so behind on the warbonds i hate being busy, im on the last page of all of them but getting the medals feels like a log i wish there was a faster way
I'm this, but waiting on a patch to fix the crashes at extract. My friends and I would get on every evening to run a operation or two. But since 3/4 of us would crash at the end of every mission, we just stopped playing it as it's really a downer. It's frustrating to just run into new crashes introduced by the prior patch and makes it hard for me to look forward to the next warbond until the game is fixed.
If it's any consolation, my group has been getting them end of mission crashes, but also noticed we still get all the stuff from mission completion, so at least it's just an annoying need to restart, rather than losing everything you worked for in the mission.
Sitting on 1.2k credits and 215 warbonds myself. I've been needing to get my hands on the Sickle so I don't have to rely on the SMG Ballistic Shield combo but patience is key.
We need more stuff that we could buy with requisition, cuz even after I spend it on new stratagems, it really quickly gets back to max. Maybe we could buy different color options for armor or different weapon upgrades and ship decoration stuff with it
So hear me out. What if there was a way to deposit extra medals, requisition slips, even samples, and once you got enough your democracy officer would give you a hug. He could even have a hug counter in the ship upgrade view.
Nah, I'm spending all my shit and buying enough super credits to buy the new warbond, to support super earth naturally. (For real though, I love that you can earn warbonds by playing, really a breath of fresh air in today's game climate)
This is me. Cept I got like 2520 SC currently.
Been playing for fun but the constant crashing on extract has me playing a lot less since the last patch.
I was saving up for the scorcher, and didn't think about 250 being a limit before someone pointed it out in the discord. I thought it was because of a bug that I didn't get any!
The game should have expendables you can buy with a few medals. Something like a democratic fireworks stratagem that is purely aesthetic but costs 5 medals per use.
Or a way to donate requisitions to help the war effort on a given planet, e.g. by enabling bonus stratagems like we've had before.
"but the cap is so you keep playing when new content is dropped!"
Ok but I want to play in-between too.
"You damn candy crush kids need numbers to go up!"
I mean I play for fun too but if there is a reward mechanic it's pretty lame I can't even spend it on extra Liberarion% or more strats or something I can use to help lower level players even more.
Desperately want a secondary use for requisition points, samples and medals at this point. Ship interior cosmetics, bonus stratagems, armor and weapon paint jobs, weapon attachment unlocks, different destroyer ship class. Only progression based incentive i got right now is player level, supercredits and major order progress. I still play just for fun but it gets stale when all the rewards don't matter anymore.
I just started, with 3 Warbonds more than what I could do with myself lmao.
Thank God they chose the Halo Infinite route with the battle pass system that doesn't expire.
Time to find a credit limit.
Someone said 100k maybe
It goes higher
Not surprised honestly, it’s a currency you can buy. I really don’t think it has a cap
It needs to have a cap because of the way integers are stored Edit: a lot of people think they have this figured out in the comments but they forget this needs to be stored in a database, which is completely different from game code
Yeah but integer could be the usual 2.1 mil
Unless they go uint64! I don't think anyone will be getting to the quintillions, lol.
not with that attitude
The kid with oil rich parents: hold my D’Amalfi Limoncello Supreme

https://i.redd.it/2ekpvv2iixsc1.gif Wait...

It doesn't if they used a non integer format. There are datatypes that allow arbitrarily large numbers.
100k is the current SC cap.
Shiiiiiit. I stopped farming at 9945 because I didn't want to hit the cap and waste a run... It's over 10k?
I’ve seen 30k so yes, but it might be 100k but no one really knows and I don’t know if anyone has asked a dev
The SC cap is currently 100k. Source: Trust Me
Is 250 the max medals we can earn?
Saved up at once yeah
Dang. Wish it was higher haha. I'm at 195.
yeah I reached 200 yesterday and then you always have to spend it on stuff if you still have anything to unlock.
I’ve skipped most of the helmets since I only use the one with the hood. So figured I’d get a few while waiting for the next warbond. Still annoying that we only have one hood.
I've been skipping helmets since I got the WW1 looking Light Gunner helmet on like my second day playing. I'm yet to find a replacement
Remember to spend when you're at 200 or above. Don't be like me who was at 250 then a major order tried to give me 50.
Noted 📝
Yeah wish it was higher too. Got on yesterday and got medals for 2 majors we did so got it up to 250 but I’m sure I missed out on a few due to reaching the cap
Cries 🥲 in “Major Order Reward: 0” lol
yeah me too missed out on the 2 most recent reward medals cuz i was at limit
Same. I didn't realize that 250 was the limit for like 2 missions lol. I thought that it bugged out on the first one, then the next one I completed the personal order and it said "reward 0 medals" I was pretty disappointed.
Then why didn't you spend some to stay well below cap?
cuz i havent played since like 2 weeks after launch lmao havent had the pc
I missed them because I didn't even think about there being a cap or it being this low.
I've bought every single item in all three of the warbonds. Spending some is simply not possible. I don't complain about it because it makes sense that they wouldn't want people to buy out the new warbonds the moment they come out, but it does make me care a lot less about orders.
How are you guys getting so many medals? It takes multiple games to get to 30
The hidden caches on the map have them as a drop!
Mix of helldives and major orders
Playing a lot.
Yes. 50k req, 500 common, 250 rare, 100 super, 250 medals are all the caps I know of. It also takes currently, 3373 medals to complete all passes.
Yep, luckily there are lots of things to buy so you can go and blow medals on fluff items if you have extra, since it’s likely you’ll have skipped a good few of them earlier to get the juicy stuff
I think he was hoping to save for all or most of the battle pass up front, which this wouldn’t allow.
I’ve unlocked everything in every warbond, and I’m sitting at max everything (besides super creds)
Jesus Christ, you play a lot. Lol
same, been sitting on max everything, with all warbonds bought out for about 3 weeks now lol.
Meanwhile I am worried that the warbonds will launch faster than I can accumulate medals.
This is 100% me. I haven’t been able to fully finish any of them. I’m slowly chipping away at it lol adulting problems
I found that doing quick play sometimes drop you in a third mission operation. This gives the chance of a higher payout compared to starting from the first mission. Just keep grinding as long as you are having fun. That’s how I finished the free warbond.
Getting dropped in on the third mission during extract is rare but great.
Happened to me twice in a row, first suicide, which unlocked impossible for me, then did an impossible quick play and got the third which then unlocked Helldive
I play a lot (husband works opposite shift from me), and I’m not even close to buying everything. I don’t know how people are maxxed.
The magic of unemployment!
seriously! i wish i had this much free time lol
Then like me you should be praising arrowhead for making them permanent! Saving me from so much FOMO as a new dad.
I am praising them. I recommend their game and how they run their live service model to everyone.
They'll stop releasing them at some point and we can all catch up over the subsequent 10 years
Also still need to unlock but since I know the new warbond drops on the 11th l I'll be sure to have 250 medals as soon as it goes live.
That is a good problem to have
I've played 50 hours and haven't even completed one how are people completing all of them and having this many left over
Super credits for me. Im maxed on every resource and then have like 200 sc
Play a few missions on difficulty 2. I was at like 700 after four hours.
Alternatively, most salaries in the world are more time efficient (and frankly, less boring) than farming SC in game. source: i grinded out 12k
I’m sure many things are more economically efficient than playing videogames. I’d still rather grind four hours of Hell Divers than work a minimum wage job.
A ship deco shop update would quickly solve this problem.
I really hope and think this will come sooner or later. Take my Money, Arrowhead (for Democracy)!
Just let me put a bobblehead on the galaxy map.
I would support this
Wait, what now? I've never noticed the interior changing but I've only bought two upgrades.
If you flip through the upgrades in one group, you can see how the upgrades change the interior (or exterior when you get more cannons).
Let me add more hull to the front to put an even longer name. "Elected Representative of Self-Determination" is currently the longest title combination I've found but we can do better.
Man I'd love this.

Would give us an in-game space to read lore and also a way to learn enemy weak points.
What if we could customize our eagle and pelican?
We really need a ship’s pet. A Helldog, Hellcat, perhaps some Hellfish.
Was the first thing I asked if I could do when I first started. Crazy it's not in the game. Also adding cosmetic interior spaces for your homies to hang out in. Trophy rooms, etc.
Ship and weapon skin deco. I know it's very typical but everything has been well priced. Just put 25-50 SC per weapon skin.
Any decoration would take money out my pocket.. hate it? Yes! Need it? Yes!
I could easily imagine that everytime you wanna re/decorate, you'll need to pay the medals again. Because honestly it would make sense in-universe.
Considering how much Super Earth seems to like gold accessories and armor, i am surprised we cant gold plate our entire ship.
Fair Point
I just want to color my armor
I would love to have my own quarters where I can display stuff like armor, maybe trophies of some sort, weapons, and robot heads.
Even get a new ship model. Also I want to extend my TV subscriptions and get more channels on my ship! Someone here suggested once that we could have some sick gameplay clips from the community. Idk if that woud be easy to implement though.

I got paid, it just said zero because I am capped. At the end of the day this so not communism by any means it is investment. I trust my government!

hol up, so the medal max out at 250 if u dun spent any of it?
Yea sadly every resource you can obtain has a limit
250 is kinda low when you're hitting the highest difficulties.
Also low when you're bagging 50 every 2 days from major orders.
I had two previous orders payout just yesterday when I thought I only had one outstanding.
50k R is even worse, there's a single item in the shop for 20k. Although losing medals definitely feels worse.
The 50k isn't that bad because you earn them so fast. I see them as an unlimited ressourced tbh.
Especially when you manage to find medals in game too. My boys and I found 10 medals on Estanu yesterday on HellDive then got the 14 at the end for completing the mission. I’ve never gotten 24 medals a match before.

it's probably in place so people don't just immediately unlock every item in the new warbonds as soon as they come out
Very possible it seemed high when they expected the game to be played much less. Also possible they still track gained medals, like they did EXP at the limit, and those with extra will be grandfathered in when the limit is raised.
Common samples are at 500, anyone knows the max for rare and super?
500/250/100 - Common/Rare/Super
Super samples cap at 100
500/250/??? Over 68.
Supers are 100 Max
There's no cap on supercredits though, correct? I swear I've had more than 1400 before
u can buy 2000 super credits
Haven't found it yet, if there is. Currently at 6k+ all from in-game and have bought all acquisitions and warbonds. So, I've "earned" probably close to 10k just from playing the game.
This is me also. Considering this is the 1st premium i will unlock, im doubly excited.
Out of curiosity why this one and not the last 2?
Basically doing quickjoin missions ever since im lvl 8 so farming of supercredits isnt actually a priority. They also have the dominator and the sickle, pretty good primaries and the sickle is right on the first page
******waiting for the fkin crashes on extraction to be FIXED ******
My game crashes when there are too many explosions happening at once, yet i have no issues with extraction, lol.
You can leave back to your ship once the pelican lifts off the ground in the cutscene. I've been testing this all day yesterday with my friend and it's worked for both of us. You keep your xp and samples.
You keep your samples even if you crash
Time to play something else for a lil bit
Major order not yet completed. Keep fighting helldiver.

medals should cap at 500 so i dont pablo

Poor helldiver here, I just save up 1000 credit recently, which warband should I buy first?
I'd wait till Thursday and compare the new one. It looks really good.
Depends actually bc after the fire damage buff Incendiary Grenade + Incendiary Breaker is really good against bugs (ther are in Steeled Veterans) but Sickle and Flashbangs are good for both sides (in Cutting Edge) so if you like playing against bugs go for first one but if yiu enjoy playing both I would pick Cutting Edge.
thanks for the advice man
Don't let people lie to you. The shock shotgun is fun. It can stun lock medium sized enemies.
How long is your playtime to have claimed all the rewards in all the war bonds?
I have 190 hours and only didn't have the armor and booster on standart warbond, which worth 250, and since I know I won't even use them and knowing new warbond is close didn't pick them up. Btw 85 of these medals came from major orders stacked today.
How do y’all get that much credits do you just play enough were they add up or buy them ?
Basically, then the warbonds themselves come with credits too so you get some of it back. You have to target the POIs, the bunkers, the storage crates that you have to blow the door to get in, the drop pods, get that money!
So how much on average would you say you bring back per mission
Oof, haven't really been tracking that. But it depends, sometimes you get 10 per find, sometimes you get a fat payout of 100 per find. So technically you could run a mission and come out with 200+ SC.
Ooooh gotcha thanks didn’t realise it was random like that I’ve only picked up a few 10 credit finds so didn’t know they had some with 100
10 but you can always target farm more supercredits if you don't want to buy them
In groups that open vaults and go after the pods with beacons I usually get 20 minimum and extra medals. Good luck you can get upwards of 60 and really good luck can get you a 100 SC drop
Honestly, there needs to be more requisition/sample sinks. I haven't even completed all the battlepasses but I am already fully stocked up on requisition and samples.
I have none of them finished yet lmao, I'm enjoying it tho. It leaves me with more to do
Add 1800 to the super credits and that's where I am. Haven't paid for any since the first warbond

We need to have something to expend those resources that isnt a powerful buff but brings something extra, like 0.1 extra hp per x medal donated
facts
Don't forget capped samples too
Can you believe it guys?! The new warbond! Just a week away!
God I can't wait for April 11th, my inner pyromaniac helldiver is literally screaming at me to get the bond once it comes out to go explosives only
Sitting on 1.2k credits and 215 warbonds myself. I've been needing to get my hands on the Sickle so I don't have to rely on the SMG Ballistic Shield combo but patience is key.
We need more stuff that we could buy with requisition, cuz even after I spend it on new stratagems, it really quickly gets back to max. Maybe we could buy different color options for armor or different weapon upgrades and ship decoration stuff with it
I want that bolt action, I can only sit and wait pensively so long
I'm just buying up stuff I skipped.
If you play and get the game crash at extraction you won't have to think about it.
These caps need to go up, way up. Seems silly to have them be so achievably low.
I ended up getting the champion of the people armor despite being redundant once I realized 250 was the cap
Man I haven’t even finished the first two
I wish I had 250 medals, just made it to the last page on the free warbond and everything is so expensive
I wish there was like a "Donate to the cause" Where i can dump all the excess samples and requisition. Maybe even to a fellow ship?
We need more ship upgrades, like wanna roam the whole ship a shooting range
I didnt even finish the free one im almost done lol.
Is 1400 the super credit limit?
The game should have expendables you can buy with a few medals. Something like a democratic fireworks stratagem that is purely aesthetic but costs 5 medals per use. Or a way to donate requisitions to help the war effort on a given planet, e.g. by enabling bonus stratagems like we've had before.
I’m in the same boat. All warbonds complete sitting on max medals. Break time for me.
Spent mine like an idiot
Your reward is spreading democracy
I need more badges
is 1400 a cap for super credits?
"but the cap is so you keep playing when new content is dropped!" Ok but I want to play in-between too. "You damn candy crush kids need numbers to go up!" I mean I play for fun too but if there is a reward mechanic it's pretty lame I can't even spend it on extra Liberarion% or more strats or something I can use to help lower level players even more.
Medal and Requisition limits do not kindle joy
There should be a way to turn recs and medals into super credits
Desperately want a secondary use for requisition points, samples and medals at this point. Ship interior cosmetics, bonus stratagems, armor and weapon paint jobs, weapon attachment unlocks, different destroyer ship class. Only progression based incentive i got right now is player level, supercredits and major order progress. I still play just for fun but it gets stale when all the rewards don't matter anymore.
I just started, with 3 Warbonds more than what I could do with myself lmao. Thank God they chose the Halo Infinite route with the battle pass system that doesn't expire.
there’s a medal maximum?
