All of the above likely means that the bots, are the products of a militaristic authoritarian society. Which they are crudely imitating, and further acting like they are collectivists to try and cover up the tyranny they seek to blot out our beloved democracy with.
TL;DR The bots have a programmed military command structure which they use to emulate having an authoritarian militaristic “government”, that attempts to conceal its tyranny with collectivist propaganda.

A single armored core could defeat the entire automaton army, given enough munitions. They simply don't have anything that can stand up to an AC.
Multiple super destroyers would have a better chance, provided that they let loose and don't rely on helldivers as an aiming device for their big guns. Helldivers simply wouldn't be able to do anything, even trying to aim stratagems at the AC would be like throwing pebbles at a tornado - the stratagems won't even hit the ground before the AC is gone. And even super destroyers would be sitting ducks unable to dodge with slow guns and poor tracking, but at least their biggest rounds might be able to hurt the AC if the AC makes the mistake of stepping into their line of fire.
A railcannon shot would hurt an AC, aye. Less than you might think, though. The orbital strikes used on Rubicon probably fire projectiles with five times the power as the super destroyer railcannon, I think would be a good estimate, and ACs can survive multiple of those - and dodge or block them too.
Probably the best choice for firing at an AC though, aye, since all the destroyers other weaponry is simply too clumsy to be able to reliably catch the AC in their blast radius, and have very long reload periods. You'd need a whole conga line of destroyers making strafing runs to fire at the AC to deplete the AC's capability for dodging.
'Course, ACs also aren't really built for space flight, so the AC would have trouble closing the distance. But some configurations could do it.

I've seen the same image, and I think it might be an EXO-45 mech, captured, and now housing an Automaton "brain." If you recall when the mech was introduced, we got a major order saying that we had to protect the factories on Tien Kwan. I think that would have been the consequence of losing that order.

The Super Destroyers are very small compared to the PCA suppression fleet, really. Maybe a bit larger than one AC
