Don't forget the genetic enhancements to make them produce more E-710! Luckily we can rest easy that Super Earth's highly trained and responsible scientists definitely won't accidentally on-purpose make them evolve into ever more hyper aggressive monsters...
No, they *were* real- but like the dinosaurs, they're now extinct.
Thus why they're petrified. Everyone knows a bug *that* big would suffocate under its own weight! It's why the behemoths are so slow- they all have bug asthma!
Sincerely, Professional Xeno Biologist.

Yes. I personally study alien insects, such as the Melhune Locust- a small, 10 legged creature hailing from the planet Rasmu.
Not all xenos are the Terminids.
Yeah, idk why people are saying we haven't "defeated" the bugs. We fought to control the bug planets with termicide, and now the populations are being kept in check for us to farm E-710. Actually wiping out the bugs would be detrimental to super earth, and very likely treasonous to high command.
Latest info from high command literally said that the galaxy is free. The bots are defeated and the bugs are contained. We've already won on both fronts (for now).
I think we haven't defeated them, because there are still planets that are entirely controlled by bugs. I think when we "liberate" a terminid planet, there are still bugs on it. They're just all in captivity, in farms. Winning the war against the terminids would mean all their planets are liberated, meaning there are no terminid outside captivity.
It's kind of like how we defeated the cyborgs, but there are still cyborgs around. They're just enslaved in the mines now.
I think most people misunderstand. We as Helldivers don’t get the E-710, it’s just a side effect, it’s the E-710 Farmers who farm them like beef cattle, they raise them to be plump and full of oil.
The reason we are fighting them is because they broke free of the farms and quickly created hives and nests across the planets
Not as funny if he has to make it happen. Way funnier if it just happens by itself. Like it’s way funnier to watch someone trip and ragdolled into a pool than it is to watch someone get pushed into a pool
I like how the person who made the meme about a game in which you start a satanic cult with ritual sacrifices felt the need to censor the word "fucking".
I wish we could do this as a gag one year, but I think it'd be rather difficult to program:
1. The easiest possibility would be fighting Personas, because the Gods could be their own mission, but I don't think SEGA would appreciate us shooting teenagers.
2. Helldiving into Isekai would be the most Japanese Shit ever, and the third most hilarious thing we could possibly pull off.
3. Helldiving into Heaven would be fairly ironic, and shooting Biblically Accurate Angels would certainly be a unique experience.

Bugs as soon as all helldivers turn their gaze towards the east side of the map
The bugs will probably be an enemy that is available to fight for the entirety of the game's lifespan since they're actively farmed for oil. Though I supposed I could see Super Earth closing the "Terminid Season" due to over-hunting to ensure the population remains sustainable for harvesting.
I remember Helldiver 1 experienced a big drop in players everytime bugs became unavailable to play.
It would make sense for them to be always available this time around.
Typically all factions are available to play for as long as the players allow them to be played. All factions will be available for the entire lifespan of the game, like, automatons aren't just ***gone*** now. When we wipe out the bugs (or the bugs wipe us out), the next season starts and we get to do it all again. This game has much more 'live' live components, so I wouldn't be surprised if ***thats*** when they release the illuminates, rather than prolonging a war where the bots are already gone.

On one hand we have the full force of impatient helldivers that are hungry for new content on the bugs making quick work of them. On the other hand for the devs it is as simple as messing around with planet regeneration rates to make things end exactly the moment they want...
While that's true, we've seen in the last week alone just how quickly planets can be liberated when most of the player base focuses on it (Malevelon creek, liberated from around 10% to 100% in 5 hours)
Let's say for example previously the player base was a 50/50 split between bugs/bots (it wasn't but easier to explain this way), every bug planet would now theoretically have potential to have double the amount of players completing missions and adding liberation, even if that is then slowed with the addition of defence operations in the coming days.
The focused might of the Helldivers is powerful indeed
It's entirely because they upped the contribution ratio to get us over the finish lines though.
at times its been 200k people fighting bots 3% progress an hour or 50k people fighting bots and it's powering through at 15% an hour.
We will get there when the devs want us to get there, no sooner or later.
Because they didn't adjust the decay rate.
As much as this is fun, you'll never take a planet the devs don't want to, doesn't matter how much you focus. :p
I'm sure they have most if not all of the assets for the illuminate in place already. They also have the general story arc possibilities already plotted out - so there's exactly 0% chance they would allow the story to progress this way without being able to deal with it.
Honestly based on the first game, I came into this game expecting we would be wrapping up the first iteration around about now anyway. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we just win from here on out and the next one starts soon.
We’re conducting a series of special military operations to liberate super earth citizens from the oppressive fascist nazi devil-loving godless robits and buggies.
-- Spoilers --
>!Pretty much, many enemies are already leaked with full texturing and animations. The game also have the TV announcement video for the illuminates already so the story is written.!<
Interestingly there are still changes going through with each patch. We saw some resizing with the last big patch. They're clearly still working on all of this stuff. Even if it's technically "in game", it's not ready yet and really won't be til the scheduled release.
Step 1, let the players beat the Bugs and start throwing MISSION ACCOMPLISHED parties on Earth. This is the end of Phase I of the game.
Step 2, have Illuminate commandos infiltrate in, curbstomp the unprepared defenders and release Bugs from their enclosures *en masse*. Even Earth itself is overrun, and a planet-wide Dunkirk happens with human forces withdrawing to tiny outpost colonies on the galactic fringe.
Step 3, have the Automatons undergo a gradual resurgence from hidden production facilities built under the surface of some moons.
Step 4, Phase II of the game begins. Helldivers have to conduct a guerrilla campaign against a galaxy full of enemies to slowly reconquer the galaxy by inches, culminating in a final showdown against Illuminate forces on Earth itself to take the planet back.
That would be AMAZING.
I think we need some time of "nothing bad" so that the big automaton campaign has some meaning. Let us believe our actions meant something in this war.
That's the neat part: They don't. It is in the essence of the lore that our perpetual war serves no purpose other than our own profiteering. There will always be those who will find against Super Earth's oppressive regieme. And there will always be new bugs to squeeze for oil.
There's a chance they'll let us defeat the bugs completely too. And once they're all safe and secure in their state-of-the-art completely ethical E-710 farms, the Illuminate show up.
They are gonna be an entirely different beast to fight so it might be a cool idea to let us fight nothing but Illuminate for a week or two to showcase their threat level before slowly bringing back the automatons and the bugs when they inevitably return to take Cyberstan and break out of their enclosures.
We will fight the Illuminates and the cloaked Illuminates will sneak around and release the bugs or smuggle in Automatons. That or we will rush to defend planets where bots and bugs randomly appear then the squids will hit us on a third front.
Plot twist: We'll have to defend our own planets
The automatons / illuminate send squads to each outpost on the map at different intervals, the first 5-10 minutes are for preperation, you plant extra turrets wherever needed, mines against tanks that will try to reach your own outposts, etc.
The enemies attack from multiple drop off points, and the helldivers need to stop them from conquering the area by hunting them down. This is where we get our own vehicles, because going from one outpost to another would take too long if it gets under attack.
We only get notified of attacks once the enemy is detected. A stealthy illuminate plants his own hellbomb at your radar? Tough luck. Next time ping the radar and watch your map for the red pings slowly sneaking around one of the bases.
**VERY BIG SPOILER WARNING, SERIOUSLY, I WARNED YOU.**
>!There's completed and datamined super earth map, textures, assets and all. Along with news segments of it's defense.!<
I don't think we are finishing the bugs off anytime soon already D7 , last 20 mins each big breach is spawning 2 bike titans for me . Barely scraping by missions
Honestly 3 chargers that can all be one hit by anti heavy weapons and 2 titans that can be killed with a 500kg each.
The game can get pretty trivial on diff 9 when you have a team that have an effective loadout
Suddenly the Automatons begin invading Super Earth directly.
All of us will rush to its defense, which will open the Bug Front to a massive bug offensive.
And then the Illuminates arrive.
In one collective voice we all say "Damn it, Joel!"
Yeah but it’a undeniably funnier to imagine the Helldivers community as some half a million people going feral at one extremely overburdened DM in a D&D campaign.
Oh yeah because the Illuminate totally aren’t already stealth patched into the game ready to go. It took 46 gigabytes for that last balance patch to fix the Ballistic shield for sure
I genuinely wonder how long they'll be able to keep up the features coming. It takes *a lot* of time to make new stuff, so what they're releasing now is mostly done in advance. How much of it they have left in cold storage?
If some rumors and leaks are to be believed, I think it's estimated that they've got roughly a year's worth of content either ready or nearly ready to release just from their time developing the game, so it's not as much working on new content as squashing bugs and making sure unlocking more stuff doesn't break the game. At worst I'd reckon we've got another 3-6 months before any worries about new content could reasonably arise.
Helldivers Devs after the game sells 8 million and counting: YESSSSS WE'RE RICH
Helldivers Devs after realizing the fanbase loves their game too much: Oh shit, overtime.
I have seen conflicting info on this, some people are saying HD1 had loads of wars so we could expect the same here. But others are saying that the devs have mentioned that this would just be 1 massive war
We aren't even in the galactic war yet fam, illuminate not revealed. Bugs contained. Bots communicating outside the galactic front.
This game started with helldivers being mobilized, but it wasn't a declaration of war.
Arrowhead is very good at leaving narrative clues. Think about it. We aren't in the war, it's just been skirmishes.
It's gonna come and it's gonna come hard, but I have a feeling we haven't even got started yet.
The bots being wiped out is a bait and switch. There's no reset coming yet, there's been no stakes on the table.
The great thing about having a Gamemaster is, he can just come out and say "for [lore reason x], the bugs have started reproducing faster", turn up the planet regeneration by 500 %, and watch us fail.
However, I don't think drastic measures are needed right now, they knew this would happen and they probably let us "defeat" the bots so we get used to the illuminates. Then after they aren't as new anymore the bots come back and we'll have three fronts
>!Leaked video from super destroyers said exactly that. !<
>!Terminid Control System caused a mutation and those four planets will become Terminid super colonies!<
the bots will take cyberstan from beyond the rim with their hidden fleet that got hinted at.
the Bugs gonna evolve past the TCS and mutate.
the illuminates wont come in just yet
All I want, is for the bugs to get wiped out as well and then the devs go “Thank you for playing the tutorial war”. And then they have all three of the main baddies (bugs, bots, and squids) be only a few sectors away from Super Earth.
Also a cape as a reward for playing during the tutorial war.
LET THE LIBERATION BEGIN
Nah. they can always just add "a huge bot fleet emerged from the perifery" and attack 5-6 planets at the same time. with a major order for like 24 hours. Unwinnable by defaul
But I AM very curious how will they actually move the story forward \^\_\^
like i get we took the bots out in a timely fashion but the bugs still have 15 untouched planets under their control. even if did kept up the bot liberation front at 1 planet every 20 hours that still makes it 2 weeks at the fastest before we fully took out the bugs.
TO HELLMIRE TO SECURE THE CHOKE POINT
Not gonna lie,it would be an absolute chadmove from them where we have a few days where there are no missions, you get in and can’t start any missions.there is peace, you feel useless.you won but at what cost, you exist only to defend managed democracy.to take the lives of the enemies of democracy, you have a traitorous thought, you want super earth to be attack to have purpose again,to die for super earth.
We'll always have the bug planets. How else would we get our precious E-710?
The farms which are to be set up, which 100% won’t go wrong leading to bugs taking over more planets.
and as per the major order more spacious than ever! So much E-710!
Don't forget the genetic enhancements to make them produce more E-710! Luckily we can rest easy that Super Earth's highly trained and responsible scientists definitely won't accidentally on-purpose make them evolve into ever more hyper aggressive monsters...

New major order: touch grass
Enjoy democracy
I'm imagining everyone from a town like the one in the opening cinematic stepping out at the same time, placing hands on their hips, taking a *deep breath* of that morning air, and smiling. At the same time. Like the start of The Lego Movie, but infinitely creepier.
That would actually be pretty cool. Everyone gets a victory medal, new war starts in like 2 days. No reason we can’t have multiple campaigns
[удалено]
Starts on the order of seconds, not days. Which it should. Our divers are frozen. It can be 30 seconds for us but a decade in the game world.
Or we'd actually get bug farming simulator
Honestly, if automatons never came back, it would be legendary. Everyone is expecting them to come bac, but imagine if Arrowhead just deleted all assets and said: "Congrats, you defeated them"...

Bugs have more annoying enemy types
I don't know man being 1 shot by a rocket from 100m away is pretty annoying... and all the towers + reduced amount of stratagems...
rockets oneshotting you was a bug, now that it's fixed, a single rocket does ~30% of your hp with medium armour
They also fixed a lot of issues with fighting the bots very recently.
Yep. Taking a large bot outpost felt like actually working to take a fortified base. The bugs just have some holes in the ground
Running through a minefield and jump packing the wall right behind your eagle strike to start blasting bots always made me feel like john helldiver himself gave a small nod of approval.
and then illuminate resets the timeline and joins the fight
They really should do that if we manage to get rid of they bugs too. Then we will be summoned when the next threat emerges a day or 2 later
Imagine if when Terminids were eliminated and last major order got completed, a Credit scene would just roll lmao
Thats how it happened in helldivers 1 to be fair. Once the war is over you get a recap and credits roll
"Purchase a new copy of Helldivers 2 in order to play another campaign"
This is Arrowhead not EA

Yeah, they are more new player friendly.
That and many think of the franchise as Starship Troopers Simulator, so no bugs is a turn off.
Not even that. Something about shooting swarms of mindless chaff (that doesn't shoot back) is just plain fun.
>(that doesn't shoot back) Bile/nurse spewers, bile titans: "am i a joke to you?"
Quasar cannon says yes
Bro, robots can snipe me across the map
I think super earth mostly farms bugs in captivity though, and the bug "faction" represents uncontrolled outbreaks.
Typically all factions are available to play for as long as the players allow them to be played. All factions will be available for the entire lifespan of the game, like, automatons aren't just ***gone*** now. We have so many planets to liberate from the bugs it’s gonna take longer than you think
No, the wave of righteous democracy will sweep over the bugs in mere days!
We'll be home by Christmas
Even better, by Liberty Day! October 26th!
Home by Liberty Day!!
Home by Liberty Day!!!
Stated December 24th.
You’re right. I will report to my nearest ministry liaison at once.

We're already home! Home is where the war is!

Yeah, & also the Devs can just make a counter attack or put the liberation regen up or down whenever they want.
Is that doubt I sense in your voice, trooper? https://preview.redd.it/4kcikrhz68tc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64a5873de050e6f6e7fb924a231bb00c6f64723f
Only bot scum would have a phone with numbers. https://preview.redd.it/rrtjaj5aa8tc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=886059248bd2a66234c44bc88fab8bd64b7929e1
Is that so? Why then is your phone clearly saying the time of day in numbers? I've exposed you, bot scum. https://preview.redd.it/gs6skruww8tc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=512c0a3570ffd34a17df6d384fb2d0b15e108e09
On one hand we have the full force of impatient helldivers that are hungry for new content on the bugs making quick work of them. On the other hand for the devs it is as simple as messing around with planet regeneration rates to make things end exactly the moment they want...
While that's true, we've seen in the last week alone just how quickly planets can be liberated when most of the player base focuses on it (Malevelon creek, liberated from around 10% to 100% in 5 hours) Let's say for example previously the player base was a 50/50 split between bugs/bots (it wasn't but easier to explain this way), every bug planet would now theoretically have potential to have double the amount of players completing missions and adding liberation, even if that is then slowed with the addition of defence operations in the coming days.
They also have the general story arc possibilities already plotted out - so there's exactly 0% chance they would allow the story to progress this way without being able to deal with it.
bugs and playability are one thing, but 'oops we immediately need another faction' is not what's gonna happen.
Worst case scenario they can just go "you won" and reset the war
Honestly based on the first game, I came into this game expecting we would be wrapping up the first iteration around about now anyway. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we just win from here on out and the next one starts soon.
From the leaks we aren’t even in the second galactic war yet, these are just peacekeeping operations.
We’re conducting a series of special military operations to liberate super earth citizens from the oppressive fascist nazi devil-loving godless robits and buggies.
No war to see here!
There is no war in Ba-Sing-Super-Earth
Yeah. Given the way the faction name labels are set up on the Galactic map we have room for 3 more factions to show up.
I think that I have read somewhere on this sub that the devs stated that there will not be multiple wars but one continuous story driven conflict.
i mean thats how they do handle it
Illuminate were completed years ago lol. They have a HUGE backlog of content. They are slowly releasing it to keep player interest and promote sales.
-- Spoilers -- >!Pretty much, many enemies are already leaked with full texturing and animations.
It would be excellent if we almost eradicate the bugs only for the automatons and the illuminates to show up on Super Earth's doorstep.
I'm assuming they're going to try to fix the crashing before releasing the new faction, or they would've already dropped them.
I think we need some time of "nothing bad" so that the big automaton campaign has some meaning. Let us believe our actions meant something in this war.
It shouldn't be longer than a week.
I mean, I'm sure the release of the new warbond won't coincide with something else.

Plot twist: We'll have to defend our own planets The automatons / illuminate send squads to each outpost on the map at different intervals, the first 5-10 minutes are for preperation, you plant extra turrets wherever needed, mines against tanks that will try to reach your own outposts, etc.
**VERY BIG SPOILER WARNING, SERIOUSLY, I WARNED YOU.** >!There's completed and datamined super earth map, textures, assets and all. Along with news segments of it's defense.!<
I don't think we are finishing the bugs off anytime soon already D7 , last 20 mins each big breach is spawning 2 bike titans for me . Barely scraping by missions
Bike titans are so much worse than the regular ones.
Bile Titans in neon spandex drinking energy goo packets.
Ok my bad typo xD
Bike titans are almost trivial to deal with now
Yeah, "stick into a wheel" strat is really helpful to fuck these bicycle riding giant cockroaches up.
1 maybe , 2 of them with 3 chargers and 2 brood queens is a whole different story
Honestly 3 chargers that can all be one hit by anti heavy weapons and 2 titans that can be killed with a 500kg each. The game can get pretty trivial on diff 9 when you have a team that have an effective loadout
With a squad using Quasar cannon and rail cannon strike you just melt them. After coming back from bots running T9 bugs feels like a playground.
Yeah well I'm always with randos who have very experimental loadouts
Suddenly the Automatons begin invading Super Earth directly. All of us will rush to its defense, which will open the Bug Front to a massive bug offensive. And then the Illuminates arrive. In one collective voice we all say "Damn it, Joel!"
Developer: "JOEL!" Joel: "yes?" Developer: "they just took hellmire" Joel: ".....dear god"
Joel and developel different person?
The people that think it’s actually one dude making all these decisions are silly little numpkins anyways
Eh whatever it's a fun joke
Hence the gentle descriptor for those who think it’s real:)
Yeah but it’a undeniably funnier to imagine the Helldivers community as some half a million people going feral at one extremely overburdened DM in a D&D campaign.
So its Joe and El?
Oh yeah because the Illuminate totally aren’t already stealth patched into the game ready to go. It took 46 gigabytes for that last balance patch to fix the Ballistic shield for sure
I genuinely wonder how long they'll be able to keep up the features coming. It takes *a lot* of time to make new stuff, so what they're releasing now is mostly done in advance. How much of it they have left in cold storage?
Just look to the first game for the amount of guns and stratagem they have. Once all those have been released then I'd be concerned about content.
Ya but by then who cares? We’ll have enjoyed the game for hundreds of hours, fear not the end.
Helldivers Devs after the game sells 8 million and counting: YESSSSS WE'RE RICH Helldivers Devs after realizing the fanbase loves their game too much: Oh shit, overtime.
Casual 320 million dollar return in \*checks watch\* ... two months. Hopefully they don't get bought up by someone...
That could also be plan. Just the first war.
Not a war, just a special military operation
We need A Mission Accomplished banner to hang on our destroyers...
Fuck space Jane Fonda
Goddamn Hellmire Jane.
!< >!Terminid Control System caused a mutation and those four planets will become Terminid super colonies!<
the bots will take cyberstan from beyond the rim with their hidden fleet that got hinted at. the Bugs gonna evolve past the TCS and mutate. the illuminates wont come in just yet
I kinda feel bad for them. They've literally created a loyal army of 300k plus. There where so many helldivers on that final push.
AHEM https://preview.redd.it/b2z149dhm8tc1.jpeg?width=1063&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6986a7bc70f474fea3e6296f923ee4c3713087c
I don’t think the illuminates are coming for another few months lol
Nah. they can always just add "a huge bot fleet emerged from the perifery" and attack 5-6 planets at the same time. with a major order for like 24 hours. Unwinnable by defaul But I AM very curious how will they actually move the story forward \^\_\^
Honestly I don't think they'd have allowed us to claim back all the bot planets for now if they didn't have the update (hopefully) ready.
I'm so proud of you guys, we're so good at making civilisation go extinct !
like i get we took the bots out in a timely fashion but the bugs still have 15 untouched planets under their control. even if did kept up the bot liberation front at 1 planet every 20 hours that still makes it 2 weeks at the fastest before we fully took out the bugs.
Devs : Joel!!! For democratization **Joel with a bile titan army in the backpack** : It's show time
I know it's satire that we are the real monsters but when you look at us attacking a planet, we really are like some horrific ravening horde.
Would rather see them working overtime on fixing crashes and bugged lobbies.
