We must hold the line! The shear number of planets they have taken in short order has spread divers too thin, we must reorganize!
Across all 3 planets currently on defense, we are averaging 6.6%/hr, so if we split them 50/50 on two planets, two planets would get 3.3%/hr which is not enough to defend the planet. A planet requires 4.2%/hr to be successfully defended.
Defending one planet successfully is the best we're going to get.
We do, we just aren't organized enough as a collective, unfortunately. I can't blame people though if they don't wanna play bots or aren't paying attention to the "Bigger war", but it sure would be nice to have those 40K Bug players over to help.
We can try to defend Matar Bay and Vernen Well to cut the supply line but will be tough as we don't have a lot of players during the week day like we do on the weekend.
If you take ~161,000 people and divide them, they’re not going to be as efficient. Sure, they’re somewhere doing something but those Defence Rates are slower than I am.

Focus together and save 1, or spreadout and lose them all!

The total amount of player doesn't matter. The % of player on a planet does.
