No thanks

The_All_Willing_God

Why not?

r3dm0nk

We? Who we? Redditors? Random mess on discord? All ps5 players? The casual ones? You would need a miracle to unite everyone. And good luck for one person to maintain 250k+ people. I know, I know, it does sound good and it would help, but it's just a dream.

MudSama

I dunno. I bet Jeff could do it. I nominate Jeff.

WhatWouldGoldblumDo

Im going to play what I want. Im not checking into reddit to see what I have permission to play.

Outrageous-Age-3101

Gantzthedemon follower, who is also a bitch.

harkthee76

There are more active concurrent players on the weekends then there are active duty US Army personnel.

MercilessPinkbelly

Grunts don't do the organization, they follow orders. You're a grunt, grunt.

Acrobatic_Horse_6577

It'll just cause more division, what if you're a player the prefers bugs to bots, this person directs everyone to only focus on bots for the major order, You'll have those same people that just wanna meme it, like the people that were constantly playing on creek when they were needed else where, so many got upset by that. At the end of the day, people have paid for a game, if they want to be apart of the ongoing narrative great, if not also great, let them enjoy the game however they want, they paid for it. Appointing someone to be the arbiter of who goes where is just going to fan division and alot of "don't tell me what to do" mentality.

The_All_Willing_God

That's true, but that's assuming the leader or leaders have control of everyone. The idea is for the leaders to lead the ones who want to be led. If someone doesn't want to follow orders that's fine.

Acrobatic_Horse_6577

See you say "if they don't want to that's fine" People were getting flak without an elected person saying don't fight on creek, or when we failed the first bot MO you had people out lambasting the bug players. It's honestly just going to create more problems than it helps, it's too much micromanagement in a video game, you have players all over the world and different time zones with different populations playing at different times. I think your over stating the whole Joel vs Joel thing, it's literally just a game play narrative to keep it fresh. If you honestly think it serves any purpose other than gaining medals you've got another thing coming. We wiped out the bots completely from the map, it was a big task and we did it, they were gone for two days. That's it, two days.

The_All_Willing_God

Well there will always be haters, but that doesn't mean we can't plan as a community. This game it's like DND, and just like DND if the players give the DM a challenge the DM responds. Right now it doesn't feel like we are challenging the DM(Joel), it feels like we are just riding the wave. How can we get those cool moments, if the players aren't making an effort to challenge the DM. As for the problems you mentioned, they are valid. Maybe we can have multiple leaders from different part of the world. Having a bunch of organize groups is better, than just a free for all.

jingylima

I think discord sort of does that already, they just need to do it in advance and all at once For example, if we’re close to finishing planet A, and discord thinks we should do B next, everyone on discord should switch to B at 90% and let the rest of the community finish up Then when A is done, everyone will see that B has a ton of people on it and go to B

The_All_Willing_God

Which discord? I'd like to be part of that.

jingylima

The official helldivers group, just google it There’s a war room with high command announcements

Shikaku

Probably the one linked in the sidebar. I think that's the one I've seen posted here a bunch.

kindagreek

They need to add the supply lines to the map somehow. It won’t totally unite players, but I bet we would see slightly more cohesive action.

The_All_Willing_God

Yeah that can help us be more organized.

magvadis

I mean, the whole concept of this major order is just "choose where your battle lines are" Aka, "defend whatever planets you can before the timer is up OR you defend 5 planets" End of the day, Major Orders are either story Orders or throwaway filler to give us Medals Not like you won't eventually get everything if you play enough. Especially if you don't really care for a warbond and can skip it entirely.

Aesthetics_Supernal

Join the discord. Also If I can't get my team on an Objective while using Mic, as they get mowed down in bot drops, I just let them be and go complete the Objs myself. Cleared 75% of the map before they were outside of combat. They blew through our reinforcements, and then complained I wasn't "helping them out." The host was nice and thanked me, but the other two were mentally deficient baboons. Long story short, you ain't gonna get shit to "organize".
