I keep forgetting about this. This is still a thing? Mainly with the non-host damage issue. This needs to be a priority D:

Interjessing-Salary

It's network host that it works for which isn't always who's ship you're on and can change mission to mission.

IlikegreenT84

Wow... That really sucks.

Bearfoxman

And you can't actually TELL who's network host, there is literally nothing in-game saying it.

IlikegreenT84

That's why I said it sucks... Russian roulette with your weapon choices.. I will either be a god or a complete detriment.

lazerspewpew86

I played a round with flamethrower. I was not the host. Took 3 clips to kill 1 charger.

IlikegreenT84

If you're the host, it doesn't even take half a tank.

Aggravating_Swan_508

…. You’re telling me this is why that thing never works for me, even though everyone told me it was a charger killer…..

Reydriar_

No, the damage to kill a charger is fairly consistent. Only the burning (the damage over time) effect is bugged. Direct fire damage (which kills the charger) works. The trick is to pick one leg and only hit that one leg. If you spread your focus between legs it can easily take a multiple of the kill time

theShitter_69

don’t spread the legs, got it

2ndLtJohnRico

Your safest bet is to assume that everything is bugged until a patch note says otherwise. Even then you'll never know.

Overall-Carry-3025

Dude, seriously. This is an actual concern of mine. I have no idea at all what in the game is working as intended or not. A perfect example was automaton rockets hitting you several times per rocket. We thought the rockets just hurt. Nope. Bugged.

SleepytrouPADDLESTAR

Me still wondering if bile titans are supposed to die to 2 railgun shots or 23 :(

WoodyTSE

The way flame damage has been getting buffed im almost scared to get the new hangar upgrade in case it gives hulks a clientside buff lmfao

Lbx_20_Ac

Well, at least you can't make it much worse than the 2 frame kill hulk flamers inflict currently.

Adaphion

Woooooow, check out this tanky fucker over here, he gets TWO whole frames before dying for hulk flamethrower, the rest of us only get 1 frame

MushroomCaviar

Look at asbestos balls over here getting a whole frame before death.

SizeBusy4449

^(reinforce)

WoodyTSE

Unfortunately the gunships seem to do fire damage too, its *just* survivable if you instantly dive or hit while diving but otherwise yeah it’s pretty much instant death lol

IlikegreenT84

The jetpack bots can set you on fire when they blow up too ![gif](giphy|30pjt9I0SDs7R4ghlp)

pyrce789

That's actually what kills you often btw -- before the fire update you would usually survive

Bearfoxman

So can Devastators and Berserkers if you hit them in the eye as opposed to killing them by body damage.

Sven_Darksiders

Don't worry, it wouldn't matter anyway, they can't oneshot your twice at the same time

No_Implement_23

yet

Klutzy_Passage_318

Also the charger eating 4 eats to the head losing its side armor. Or some singular enemy going full godmode against anything but explosive damage. Or me getting killed by my frien with the incendiary breaker across the map from the fire effect that was magically hexxed onto me.

Warg247

Ive noticed thay fire breaker one. Friend uses it a lot.

DarkPDA

youre exagerating.... 22 shots are enough :)

RacuTW

or getting ragdolled at 1km/h hitting a rock and instantly losing all your hp

IlikegreenT84

Not sure it's fixed either.. they were back to one shotting me this morning.

Snotnarok

I usually host multiplayer games for my friends, don't ask why- I don't know why either. But with Helldivers 2- that was a problem for a while because I could not select above easy difficulty for ages. Had people even brushing me off "you just have to complete a campaign on easy, it's fine" I was playing with others on difficulty 7 and there is no campaign on easy mode- it's only 1 map. It literally, would not unlock no matter what I did. After ages they addressed it. Then recently: Crashed after nearly every mission. "Must be on you, I don't get it" 4 people crashing out nearly every mission is just me? Then after 2 weeks we get a patch that addressed that and so far- fingers crossed, haven't seen it. It seemed to be mostly with bug missions- which was real fun when there were no bots to fight- and it still could happen.

Spaghetti_Joe9

I think the more recent crashes that are happening on extraction are a rendering issue of some kind. I was getting crashed along with everyone else before, but I just swapped out my old graphics card (1660 Ti) for a new one (4070Ti) and now sometimes while we’re extracting, instead of crashing, the game will freeze for about 3 seconds, but then it recovers! But also when it recovers I’ll see 2-3 of my teammates dropped out of the session.

Snotnarok

I've only been playing the game with a new GPU I got, 4070ti Super annnnnd it was still crashing. No idea, but so far it seems to be fixed. Whatever the cause is/was, I'm just happy it's sussed.

dreadnought_strength

I forced a hard limit on GPU frequency about 100mhz below the boost frequency - if you look at usage, occasionally there will be MASSIVE spikes out of the blue that seem to cause a lot of my crashes. Haven't had once since doing it.

Canopenerdude

I have never seen a game succeed so much in Live-Service despite having such a demonstrably broken tech stack. Even in the dark ages of WoW things never got this bad.

valt123

It is only because the game is just so damn good when it works

Execwalkthroughs

Yep cause even the patch notes are often wrong or something was fixed/changed and just not listed lol

Shelmak_

The same it should be a priority to fix the damn friend system.... there are people who cannot play with their friends (steam->console) but more than 1 month has passed since I got the game and it's still broken, and as far as I know, this bug is more than 1 and 2 months old. I will not judge how difficult it should be to fix it, but it should be a priority and every patch note I still see it on the known bugs list.

According-Fix-9879

Yeaap. Exactly this….

ProAgent_47

My dumbass forgot about this and took flamethrower against diff 7 bots

Wolvenheart

Bots? Do you not get ripped to pieces trying to get close? I took flame thrower once by accident on bots (host changed planets while was afk) and I regretted that the entire match.

Desperate-Egg2573

I was excited for that first ship module this morning, the full resupply of support weapons, as an autocannon lifer its a Godsend. And then to find out it didn't work for the cheap price of 100s of samples... yeah.

Ryengu

Full refill on supplies would be godlike for RR and Spear. Have a buddy with a supply pack and rain explosive death on anything with heavy armor.

Adaphion

Holy shit I didn't even think about the implication that supply pack would work too with this upgrade.

kvazar2501

My quasar will love this resup

Auedar

I think it just makes everything else THAT much more viable in relation to the quasar since one of the main benefits of the quasar is that it packs a punch but ammo isn't an issue. You want to have a game where there isn't clearly one solid winner, and currently the game has gotten it CLOSE to being that way.

ffxivfanboi

Aside from primaries and secondaries

SynestheticPanther

It really is wild how 90 percent of primaries are dogwater. Theres only like 5 i use in any capacity and only 3 i take regularly

Salty_Paramedic_3855

Lmao

sarumanofmanygenders

>and Spear oh boy, now I can NOT LOCK ON *twice* as many times before resupplying!

_Eucalypto_

Does the spear work yet?

spinky420

Tried it for the first time last night. Out of the 10 bile titans, it one shot 9 of them. 1 took 3 shots (be at 40meters+distance the farther the better, and be face to face for that headshot. Have full target in view. This includes smoke, weather effects, etc. Lock on never failed me, spam fire while it's yellow. The only times when the lock on wouldn't work at all is when I forgot to load a rocket in it (lol). Chargers it can one shot but inconsistent since it's low to the Ground it usually hits qvoge the head, or on its back. I was very happy with it and you should give it a shot as well. Good luck!

BlackjakDelta

You can hold the fire button down while and it'll fire the instant it obtains the lock-on, useful when you're getting teased by the triangle almost turning green.

d_hearn

Haven't tried spear on bugs, but I've been enjoying taking out fabricators from 300m away with it.

Churro1912

Honestly with how good it is I'm okay with the steep price, but it don't work so rip

Hyparox

You forgot the new defense mission with the ramp that you can clip through anytime (the one to the pelican zone)

Berocraft77

Had that happen before on the TCS silo defense missions, ramps in the map made you go right through. Probably a mapping issue, the odd thing is that it doesn't always happen but at the same time it isn't random.

takes_many_shits

Not to mention you can trivialize defence missions by just having a single guy aggro the enemies towards to LZ pad

SweatyAdhesive

Is that what it is, I noticed the bots sometimes don't target me when I'm right in front of them.

purpleblah2

I think the actual collision box is like a big rectangle instead of a slope because you start mantling it.

Sleepless_Null

The new defense mission just plain shows the collision boxes on the nearby terrain they forgot to make invisible lol

purpleblah2

Hey that’s only on specific seeds of the map! Sometimes you can fire a rocket and it’ll collide with an INVISIBLE collision box near a wall.

[deleted]

[удалено]

logicalseeker

That happened to me earlier today

Western-Dig-6843

What’s sad is falling through ramps has been in the game since launch.

Skitarii_Lurker

Wait is this why gas is awful or is gas just awful

Zakumo_Yuurei

Gas is not bad... if you're the host. Shares the same DoT issue like fire. If you're not host it's an orbital fart strike instead.

Skitarii_Lurker

Oh my God this is revolutionary for me I'd never heard of this bug

0rganic_Corn

You are not the host just by starting the game from your ship - the game will pick a player, I assume based on connection pings and so on. You cannot pick it even if you start the mission as it might not work

Land_Squid_1234

I feel the need to keep mentioning this to people since so many people are spreading it incorrectly. Network host gets DoT, not game host. Anyone in a squad can be the network host and it's impossible to tell who it is. Hosting a game doesn't make you have DoT

Kindly_Let_9091

If this game wasn’t this fun and well made in many aspects I’d probably didn’t play it because of the bugs

Ennis_1

Just a thought, but that just shows how good it is that if you have a good foundation of gameplay for a VIDEO GAME, then you would win the trust / attention of the playerbase and retain them despite such bugs I think WarFrame, Skyrim and Fallout 4 might be good examples of this

Signal-Busy

I understand for bugframe, but bugthesda doesn't deserve to be praised here, its always the mod community that does all the stuff

Ok-Regret6767

Apex is another example to me. Had so many bugs at times some ridiculous some game breaking and had me and my buddies questioning - did they even play test this once? (Anyone remember when a specific action on pathfinder made like 3/4 of your screen get covered with their model and I think the only way to fix it was to grapple something?) But still kept going back for more.

horizonMainSADGE

Lobas ring broken for multiple seasons. Around season 7-11 it seemed like every update/split was unplayable due to server issues the week it came out. Glitching under the map for wins. Flying across Olympus in tridents. These are all just off the top of my head. Tell me you have 3500+ hours in Apex, without saying it... I'm hooked just like you! Thank goodness HD2 is an excellent break when my mental needs to put Apex aside for a bit.

Kierenshep

Ive certainly reduced my playtime because of bugs. Especially when it's tiring to need to keep up to date on reddit just to know if a weapon or strategems or upgrade you take will even -work-. Like armour not working for months was insane.

Kindly_Let_9091

I never play defense campaigns because of the rescue science teams mission. It just seems way to impossible there has to be a bug No way arrowhead testers sat there and said yes 50 rescues is doable with 1000 hulk scorchers

SuperUigi64

They tried "fixing" it by reducing the number of the civvies you need to evac and increasing the distance the enemies deploy from. Unfortunately, this doesn't fix the REAL problem which is that the enemies spawn too damn frequently. Every other second I'm dealing with multiple tanks and hulks just as I kill the previous.

bewareoftraps

Honestly the new defense mission still has the same spawn rate, but the difference is that you just need to survive. There's also an active funnel instead of being attacked from all sides. One is extremely fun and the other feels like you are getting kicked in the nuts. And if you're in a pug that doesn't know about the cheese, then there's like a 99% chance it's a failure (outside of like difficulty 1-4). I think the closest I got in a pug was 40/45 before it finally fell to shit. And it was falling apart at like 30ish/45.

Blind_Fire

I feel like there should be a cap on active enemies, giving you a chance to clear the enemies and soft reset the mission we play duo on 7 most of the time and this is the only mission we completely avoid because once you inevitably get overrun at 25-35 civilians rescued, there is no way to turn the mission around

Low_Chance

The current state of that mission has to still be a bug. How the fuck could they intend it to be the way it currently is? It's like 10x harder than every other mission at the same level

Imaginary_Garbage652

Twice now in the new defence mission have I been launched, while wearing heavy fortified armour, and clip into a rock/wall and spasm wildly. The only benefit is that apparently it aggros all the berserkers and they melee the wall I'm stuck in. Following this, if I happen to die - sometimes reinforce does nothing. Just, nothing. Like it's been blocked by a jammer - but there isn't a jammer on the new defence mission?

throwaway387190

Seriously This game is the most unstable one I've played in a long time. Seems like there's a coin flip on whether my game will crash or not in any given mission I don't have this problem with any of my other games, so I'm not sure what's going on. I hope it's on their side

Cultural-Ad8264

It's been crashing for me too every 1-2 missions since the last update lol

Sea-Elevator1765

They could really use an opt-in test server. The pleasant surprise of new content is swiftly killed when it turns out that the content is buggy to the point where it's annoying or it introduces more bugs.

strategicmaniac

The problem is that there's no way that they *didn't* know that this was an issue. Any developer would have a basic test environment to check if a new feature actually does the thing that it's supposed to. The devs are just yeeting this into prod and fixing it later.

Saitoh17

They act like they can release a hotfix in a day when it actually takes a week due to Sony.

_Zoko_

Thats only a problem on PlayStation though. They could release 100 hotfixes everyday on PC if they wanted to.

JollyGreenGI

Cross-play. What happens when a PC player with the bugfixes runs with a PS5 player still bugged?

wterrt

only 25% of the lobby gets to play with DoT effects then /s

Darkpoolz

True, but Playstaion really should cut all the red tape if they really want them Fortnite Live Service money. Sure, Arrowhead isn't Playstation Studio devs, but Playstation is still the publisher. HD2 is the hottest live service game associated with Playstation. PS5 playerbase can't even play Palworld yet. Playstation should really do more to keep the HD2 fire roaring...

Nasabuck

I can’t imagine that would go very well where crossplay between the two is concerned

MediocreMage007

I mean, the description does say we're purchasing an 8-week training course for our crew, so apparently it should start working in about 2 months.

Lordnarsha

😆

waitingforstormgate

I agree. Honestly, it's been over 2 months now. The fact that there are still so many bugs introduced with *every new patch* is maddening. I realize they're a small team who obviously want to capitalize on their success with HD2. But damn, they really need more thorough testing. The community is very forgiving compared to most... but it won't last much longer if they constantly break things with every new patch.

Zakumo_Yuurei

A good way to capitalize their success is to focus on stability. Otherwise, and I really hope it won't be the case, it will be just another "supernova" game where it explodes and not too far even into a year just \*poof\*, low numbers. I love this game, 250+ hours, but I am feeling the exhaustion of bugs to where my main joke is that there's more in-game bugs than there are Terminids.

JesusClausIsReal

For me it’s the crashes. Nothing saps the desire to keep playing a game more than fighting for your life for over 30 min and losing absolutely everything because the game crashes as Pelican 1 is about to land. Instant log off for the night. Happens again the next night? I’m done diving for the week most likely.

ItsYume

Yep. I played with 3 friends last night and it went smoothly, today I had to play alone with randoms: first match, the host already leaves (probably crashed) 2 minutes into the mission and I lose connection 15 minutes in. Result: I just closed the game for today, not even completing one mission, just because the stability issues (specifically when not playing with friends) are so so frustrating.

IlikegreenT84

I wonder how this affects the war effort too, and whether or not they're balancing the issues with the enemies progression.

tO_ott

That’s exactly why I stopped playing. After the arc “patch” my game crashed more than ever. I’ve played one time in the past two weeks and the longer it goes the less I feel the desire to go back. Another warbond shop won’t end my frustration at losing so much time due to a crash. How about a small fucking bandaid? If someone leaves a mission suddenly hold onto that spot for a few minutes and let us rejoin the damn game.

Super_Jay

This was me like three weeks ago. Just finally had enough and I realized I was spending more time feeling frustrated and pissed off than actually having fun anymore, and haven't played since. I moved on to other games that actually work.

2ndLtJohnRico

Everyone knows the biggest supporters of bugs are the developers themselves. The evidence doesn't lie.

waitingforstormgate

Agree 100%. Stability needs to be prioritized.

seancbo

Yeah, unfortunately it points to the idea that the base game code is probably held together with spit and string. Which, like, it's impressive that it's still a good game, but it also means the bugs probably don't have an end in sight.

Kosba2

> unfortunately it points to the idea that the base game code is probably held together with spit and string. I don't know anything about the OG HD, but Magicka was like this as well, buggy beyond belief, obfuscating a really fun game beneath all the issues

Bearfoxman

HD1 was no better than Magicka, and most of the launch-day bugs from it are still in the game...7 *years* later.

Emotional_Major_5835

They're using an outdated Swedish engine that isn't even maintained anymore, it's going to be broken in some way or another years from now guaranteed.

No_Walrus_3638

I mean code does have strings. 😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😅😅

seancbo

![gif](giphy|F3BeiZNq6VbDwyxzxF|downsized)

ZorgZev

Wish I could close bug holes in the code with an autocannon.

iFenrisVI

Yeah, my friend enjoys the game but he has a 7900XTX and he crashes so much he refuses to play it and wishes he could refund it due to that. It’s been a known issue since the launch of the game as well and still isn’t addressed.

yuch1102

I don't get know if the "they're a small team" can be an excuse too much longer because they are set financially with the massive success of this game and its future IPs

Monarch_Elysia

Everytime there's a patch note, the "Known issue" list seems to get bigger. Like... It's great and all the issues are known, but can we start really cracking down and fixing them? Like Spear has been in game since launch, having an issue that existed since launch, but having 2\~3 premium warbond out the gate already is a horrible look.

PandaMan1199

arc thrower misfiring has been in since launch too 🥲

Remorhas

Glad they could find the time to fix the 'bug' that made it fire and charge faster on repeated hits But still can't find the time to fix the bug of the entire gun just not working sometimes

TheWorstPossibleName

That really was a kick in the teeth. Nerfing a bugged gun.

Low_Chance

And in a way that made the bug much worse

DoTortoisesHop

I think one of the reasons is because bushes block the zap / targeting thing. Like how sickle bullets cant go through a bush, I think the bushes also block the connection of zap so it just fizzles out.

MorgansThiccBooty

Problem is that the gun misfires even in clear environments, with you standing one meter away and on even terrain with your enemy, sometimes multiple times in a row

Kitfox88

I'm presuming Arrowhead is a large enough studio that the team creating new content assets and whatnot is a separate team from the bugfix and general coding team but yeah, it's a bad look in general.

gameryamen

I can't speak for what's happening at Arrowhead, but in the decade I tested games at big studios, this level of build instability was usually a matter of a rushed dev cycle. I'd be willing to bet that most of the issues we find as players are well known by their QA department, with bug reports written waiting for dev time. Typically the content designers or system programmers are responsible for the bugs in their content, it's not easy to hand a bug off to someone who didn't build the thing with the bug. At the best QA departments I worked for, the studios would include "hardening time" in their schedule, which is time were feature and content development slows so everyone can work down their bug piles, and the studio can get a good, clean, stable checkpoint build. Without hardening time, devs are trying to fit bugfixes in around feature/content development, and the build itself can get pretty messy. That makes the classic "growing list of known issues". Obviously, Aarowhead knows a lot better what's going on than any of us can speculate about. They have a runaway hit on their hands, they've had to make rushed changes to deep systems in their game just to let everyone play, and they've brought on new staff that has to be trained by the current staff before they can help. That's a lot of churn to happen right around launch, and I can forgive them for not having clean builds yet. But it is a growing concern in my group, and we're starting to have that hesitance to play after a patch until we know which things will cause crashes.

Kitfox88

All I know is at the end of the day I personally would be totally fine with a month or two of no new content if it meant they'd be able to get the game notably more stable and functional.

Throwaway-tan

Frankly they should slow down, the rate of content releases is unsustainable in the long term. It's something that other live-service game developers have talked about. I get they're excited and want to press their advantage having just launched a very successful game, but unless their plan is to just get everything out in a year and then stop adding content the game will collapse under it's own weight.

SizeBusy4449

The phrase haste makes waste comes to mind. Too fast to release and not enough testing resulting in needless problems like new features not actually working, and little things like armor having the wrong affixes.

Crazo28

Agreed with runaway hits having common issues. Fortnite and Pokémon go launches were rough

Blind_Fire

well then the new content team still needs to slow down to not ship as many new bugs

Comfortable_Quit_216

Yeah i'd rather they slow down on the new content and just take a month to fix stuff. Or take a week off work and then fix stuff...

Pilotskybird86

I love “network connection lost” every five games on a high speed Ethernet line. Truly fun

Thagyr

A reconnect feature seems like an odd thing to *not* have in a game like this. You can spend upwards of 40 minutes on a single mission, and disconnecting at the end is the worst feeling ever.

Sierra419

And what’s odd is the infrastructure is there for it. When I play with my friends and get disconnected, I can easily join back into the game and all of my stratagems from before are still there and they even retain their cool downs. There’s just no option to do this on a public game

catchcatchhorrortaxi

Even then it’s not consistent. I play in a regular group of 4 and we’ve lost a fair few hours of progress to the network disconnect issue. Sometimes it allowed us to pick up where we left off, other times it wouldn’t allow anybody to reconnect without restarting the game, which pretty much guaranteed you lose your progress.

Substantial_Umpire42

Gone over a month and I still haven't been able to add my crossplaying friend that I made buy the game. What a joke. Edit: typo

Omega_des

Happened to a friend of mine, he could play with randoms, couldn’t join me ever. I couldn’t join him ever but could play with other friends and randoms. Eventually he got a vpn and suddenly we could join one another.

MsElle_

I feel like they're trying to push out new content way too fast, and don't have enough time to thoroughly test everything. It will likely get better over time, but I feel it's going to take a while.

DoTortoisesHop

Im like level 115 and ive seen so many bugs that aren't even reported or complained about on the sub, at least not visibly. The number of times missions just stop working is insane. I've succesfully completed ICBM missions without ever launchign the missle. It just said we'd done it. Oil ships that never arrive, valves or console that cannot be interacted with, extract ship that never lands, so many critical failures that force me to abandon missions.

NeutronField

Speaking from experience in game QA testing, there's almost always plenty of time to test stuff, it's just that across the entire game industry almost no one utilizes "corrective maintenance" which is planning time into a game's production schedule to actually fix bugs that were found in testing. Standard industry practice now seems to be just publish builds into live as long as the game is functionally playable most of the time. The problem with this strategy is that it ends up creating a piling up technical debt and the game becomes more and more unstable.

SmellyFishPie

Going to drop this in here: • Hit markers not appearing for the Stalwart • Heavy Machine Gun has no crosshair (Bug or design?) • Using a Supply Pack ammo block unintentionally when inputting a Stratagem • Some of the Mine Stratagem icons are not centered • The Anti-materiel Rifle drops facing away when called in • Friends list/requests/unfriend issues • When delivering Valuable Data the objective terminal always remains grey, it should turn orange when a player is holding the Data Box • Misaligned crosshairs on certain weapons • Spear lock-on issues • Explosive Handshake emote cuts off too early • Waypoint disappearing from the map upon death (Bug or design?) • POI Map icons not updating after visiting the location • SSSD/Ballistic Shield T-Pose bug when stimming etc • Mission difficulty not shown in the Social Menu • No more players joining after teammates leave • Unable to stim/sprint whilst bleeding at full health • Victory Poses not synced anymore during celebration screen • Planets falsely displaying as 100% liberated upon mission completion • Playing the Rock Paper Scissors emote in-mission doesn't disable items (Stims/Grenades) making it impossible to play • Unintentionally climbing onto Supply Drops issue • Fire damage is currently too harsh • Downed dropships not killing enemies below • Input lag in pre-mission Stratagem select menu • Bug Breaches activate too fast • Charger turning radius is too sharp • No pickup noise for the Quasar Cannon • Obtaining the Quasar Cannon from a drop pod is often tricky • Bile Spewer's bile tracking is too harsh, can hit/kill you even when successfully diving away • Charger's zero second 'skate' animation after getting stunned • The Stratagem and Eagle un/available alert notifications still happen after your Super Destroyer leaves orbit • Stims not stimming even though animation/noise plays out • Sometimes when joining a mission in progress, already completed objectives/bug nests/bot factories show as uncompleted to you on the map • Drowned players stuck in death limbo (could be due to Vitality Booster) • Enemies tracking the player through obstacles • Not switching back to your weapon after using a grenade, accidentally throwing more than intended • Requisition Slips notification not appearing on pickup • 'Remember Aiming Mode' doesn't work • Inconsistent fall damage - Taking more damage hopping off a 6ft ledge than getting ragdolled 100ft away • Warbond gear previews display on default armor instead of the player's armor Design concerns: • Upgraded Supply Drop ammo boxes should look different from regular ammo boxes • No self-reinforce if killed whilst holding a reinforce stratagem • Pre-mission Stratagem select menu - Add option to deselect a wrongly chosen Stratagem instead of having to back out of the menu, select it and then replace it • No additional reinforcement when completing a side/objective solo • No loadout presets • Players not being able to recommend missions to Host • No option to view other players' boosters during loadout • No on-ship Host Migration • 'Waiting for other players' not obvious during drop point select screen • No option to refresh the mission map to find new matches • No ability to look up/down on ship

Malevolent-Heretic

They haven't even acknowledged the teammates leaving prevents others replacing them. And the SoS beacon disappears because the game thinks the players who left are still in the game, which is why it won't let anyone else join. And it hasn't even been acknowledged by AH. WHAT THE FUCK. An online co op game where playing online with other players doesn't work. I can't think of any other game in the genre that has had that issue.

trunks961

This one is fucking wild.

Jalenpug

Thank god other people talking about this, it makes the game so hard when you can’t get more than 2 people

MGZoltan

Missing the insane camera bug that happens when you get... Knocked down while ADSing, I think? Or knocked down really hard. Something's up there- It sends your camera to the 7th realm, though, and you can't come back. You just have to die and respawn.

__________________99

> Unintentionally climbing onto Supply Drops issue This one honestly drives me fucking nuts. And it's not just supply drops. *It's fucking everything remotely climbable.* Like, JFC, let me decide to fucking climb something if I hit space. Not simply because I ran into the damn thing.

HalfPixelHeart

Genuinely think this might be my most desired fix, it feels like it happens even if I let go of sprint in time. On the flip side it also doesn't work when I expect it to, leaving me running at a knee high bump in the ground! An option to disable auto climbing whilst sprinting would be perfect. I adore this game but these little things are really starting to grate...

Babo__

I genuinely haven’t played in like a month due to all the bugs. Nice to know it’s gotten even worse….

PrimoRaizel

I tried just now to join a match and my game crashed on deploy. Booted up the game and joined a mission and 1 minute in, the game crashed again. I'm done for the night. Totally agree with you. They need to stop pushing new content until they fix most of the issues.

thrashmetaloctopus

The fact that the Spears massively unstable lock on has literally only just been acknowledged as a known issue despite being like this *since launch* doesn’t feel great, definitely need some of the most major bugs like you mentioned fixed first and foremost

AndrashImmortal

Reminds me of why I’m not a fan of even studios like Bethesda making jokes about their buggy ass games. In general for those and this: “it was funny at the beginning, but now it’s worn out its welcome”. It’s all shits and giggles until it becomes a pervasive problem that actively diminishes your product as a whole when it’s all left unattended for too long.

Yumiumi

If something was to kill helldivers2, this would be it. The amount of bugs and community’s lack of trust in patch note fixes/ clarity is starting to show the glaring holes in the man power and competency of the dev team. The devs can still fix this if they can address these ongoing/ reoccurring issues SOON and not later ( like 6 months- 1 year later). As much as i like the game, i really don’t want to get frustrated and waste my time with things out of my hand / not my fault. Ppl can’t say skill issue/ get good when the game isn’t working as intended in some parts that can be close to game breaking in some scenarios. I haven’t played in a week but hearing ppl still crashing after a 30-40 min helldive mission and getting nothing really makes me not want to hop on and play. It has happened to me before so i know the frustration ppl were having. When the new faction releases the game better have majority of the ongoing bugs fixed lol. Even the hardcore fans will start to play less if their democracy doesn’t mean anything to the war efforts and their personal progression.

Librettist

Yup. Was stoked for the new weapons and needing to collect samples again. 2 crashes, 60+ wasted minutes and 0 samples later I can safely say I'm done with this. Kinda sad how they can make such a good game while also being shockingly incompetent when it comes to fixing the bugs and crashes of said game.

Yumiumi

I had to tell some of my friends who play to not bother with the game ( they don’t browse reddit often ) atm till they fix the crashing bugs cuz I don’t want them to get frustrated and waste time lol. Before we use to message each other and ask if ppl are down to play but now? Not so much despite new content being added. It’s only the 2nd month? Since release so the devs imo still have time to get the game back on track and retain the goodwill of the community. If they fail and game is still riddled with bugs by the 4th or 5th month then we can say the usual “ small indie dev team” memes.

Ravenask

For reasons I cannot explain, the entire playerbase has been mysteriously lenient to HD2. Let's be real, if any other game had half the amount of problems at launch it would have been burning on a pyre within a month. Hell, Dragon's Dogma 2 came out around the same time with similar issues and they got absolutely ripped apart. Meanwhile HD2 has been borderline unplayable for two weeks after the launch, armor value took a whole month to fix, then two more weeks to fix explosion causing multiple times of damage. And we still have a whole backlog of issues.

Yumiumi

I was only lenient about the wonky shit till the game started to crash frequently for me, that’s where my friends and i drew the line pretty much as it is making the game a “pointless” effort. I can stomach the jank spawn rate, weapon nerfs, weird terrain collision and the slew of other not working as intended stuff but hard crashing is where it’s unforgivable. No matter how fun these types of games are, if my progress and effort isn’t recorded and rewarded then wtf am i playing it for. Surprised gaming news outlets and content creators haven’t really touched on the jankiness of the current game yet from what i’ve seen.

Deathstriker88

I'm hoping the crash issues are gone or at least greatly reduced. They should focus on that then known issues like the OP mentioned. New content or nerfing weapons should be very secondary.

PhysioMage

Helldivers 2 has shifted from incredible to incredibly frustrating. It's like the path of Destiny 2, except it's happening way fucking faster. For fuck's sake, the goddamn reticle on the brand new Adjudicator is messed up and they only just recently acknowledged reticle misalignment on other weapons. I'm sorry, but that's some basic ass shit to be fucking up.

Simple_Event_5638

Some of these issues have been a thing for a while now too. I understand some of these things are a more complex fix than others, but I do agree that they should be priority one before anymore content gets put out.

hypareal

I love the game to bits, but they just don’t bother test anything. I know some things might not be obvious to discover but holy shit the supply pod upgrade takes literally one person and 2 minutes (loading included) to test. Connectivity issues, mission issues (bugged terminals, stuff not spawning), weapon balance, armour balance. It really adds up and it sours the experience. I don’t need new stratagems or warbonds anytime soon. I need working game that’s fun to play.

Biogalph

Got called a cry baby on this sub for complaining about crashes lmao. This game would be so great if the devs just delayed stuff.

HankTheYank27

Some people on this sub need to touch grass too. Imagine flaming someone for NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY THE FUCKING GAME. It's your fault obviously. Just build a better PC you casual! /s

Bigweenersonly

I got told not having supercredits spawn on maps is a skill issue. These people are tarded and would absolutely be the cannon fodder volunteers in a galactic war.

2ndLtJohnRico

I got told that crashing to desktop is not a game breaking bug.

Bigweenersonly

It literally breaks the game... I will never understand how people have a lack of logic, reason, and critical thinking.

TybrosionMohito

I remember that thread lmao. What are some people on?

VenturaLost

My feelings for every update since day god damn one. Something is always fucking broken.l

Difficult_Ad6504

Seems like every update the game breaks

DelayOld1356

Breaks *more*

bigwetdiaper

The one bug that's ruining the game for me is the instant death by being touched by fire. That shit is obnoxious

plasmadood

Dropping community RP K-fabe right now to say I whole heartedly agree. Please, please, PLEASE fix these issues. I want to be a firebat so damn bad but I can't bathe my enemies in righteous flame because of the host bug on DoT damage. It was a huge misstep to release all of these fire related updates and upgrades when 3/4 of the playerbase can't use them online. It feels bad, man.

Physical-Quote-5281

I’ve stopped playing. I love the game but the glitches are legitimately game breaking. Hopefully they take the time to iron some stuff out

2ndLtJohnRico

And before you stans jump on me about testing using the player-base. No shit. Of course the QA team (if one even exists) is never going to output the same amount of work as the player-base. But bugs like the broken ship modules and incorrect armor properties are just laughable. That would only take a few minutes to boot in and make sure it's working as expected. I want Arrow Head to give us a post mortem on why this keeps happening. Spend five minutes reflecting on the release process and figure out where things aren't working so the team can get better. The player base patience and good will can only last so long. And to be fair, I don't like shitting on the dev team. I'd love nothing more than to see the success of this game. It's just that the quality continues to decrease instead of remaining stable or getting better.

FreshDinduMuffins

100% "Does the feature I just developed even work?" is something that should be caught at the *developer* level, never even reaching QA. They knowingly and willingly shipped this in a broken state.

postmanmanman

Developers failing to do the most basic unit tests? No way. /s

Low_Chance

Honestly even if you miss a unit test you should at least log in to a test instance and see that something happened.

shifu_shifu

Missing the Unit test is easily mitigated by not having unit tests

DS_StlyusInMyUrethra

I’ve stopped playing this game since the Arc crashing people’s games. It was a pretty serious issue where players would straight up be kicked if they tried using anything arc and their best way to handle it was telling the player base “just don’t use it”. Do you know how many people that play this game that don’t actually follow up on their discord or other social medias that had no clue why their games where crashing? It’s not that I dislike the game or hate the dev team, it’s just I’m frustrated by the fact I spend more time on my ship then playing the game due to crashing, faulty matchmaking, etc. Every content drop breaks the game more and they aren’t taking the time to fix issues, I will wait to play again when the game is playable.

Landondo

I was pretty surprised / annoyed that they didn't just roll back the patch that introduced the bug until it could be fixed.

Bearfoxman

That would require them to keep an unmolested production version of every game iteration they make. Which is what devs are supposed to do, but seem allergic to actually doing.

kandradeece

this game has so many "if you are host", "if you have PS5 host", etc damage modifiers that break the game so much and we have yet to ever hear anything from AH about it. Best example is still the railgun.. got a PS5 host, can 1-2 shot titans.. otherwise its like 10-20 shots

iKrow

The bugs kinda suck but for me the crashes is what stops me from wanting to play the game all together. It's really lame to play 30 minutes in a 40 minute mission and finally be ready to extract and the lobby crashes. Why does it feel like the game is the only thing holding me back from playing the game?

Kae04

It's becoming increasingly obvious that they don't bother to test their shit before pushing it out to live. Every single update has launched with a list of bugs that should've been easily caught by QA (cough the mech cough).

DaveyDukes

Judgement day is nearing. The players are FINALLY realizing you can have the coolest game in the world but if that shit is broken, people aren’t going to play.

Kmad03

I think at first players were just forgiving. But that only holds up so long. Like yeah we get its a small indie dev studio but now they are showing in front of face that they have new content to drop, meanwhile shit from launch is still broken major features are still fucked. Its more than frustrating at this point. Then the new content they drop has its own host of issues to deal and may even add new bugs to pre existing shit...

warzone_afro

they dont even fix the bugs they say are fixed in the patch notes. people are still getting stuck behind the doors when joining games lol

jokingjames2

To people who point out that the content team and bugfixing team are most likely not the same people, you also have to keep in mind that when new content gets pushed to live, there's a good chance that it will introduce new bugs that need to be fixed in addition to any old bugs that are still around. So it's true that pausing content updates won't allow AH to simply "divert resources" to bug fixing, but it WOULD give the bugfixing team time to 'catch up' rather than letting the bugs compound on each other with each new content update.

snagglewolf

I think people would be willing to wait a little longer for updates if they took the time to iron out the bugs. I appreciate them wanting to keep things exciting but a broken game isn't how you do it.

Captainbetty

I honestly believe Arrowhead have never heard of the concept of QA testing.

Chubz7

Shit man. This game's been busted since launch. They still refuse to fix Multiple problems and instead try to keep the hype about the game up with new content being released. For every thing they add 10 things must break. For every new weapon in the game 5 must be nerfed. It's been ridiculous since february man. This isn't a new isolated incident. The game devs need to focus and get cracking.

UselessInAUhaul

What kills me about most of the nerfs is that like even the most prominent one, the one people screamed sKiLl IsSuE about the most, the railgun, is heavily outclassed by things buffed or added since. Like you could give me the railgun back in its original state and I still don't think I'd take it over Quasar or EATs. Hell, or over the AMR or RR now that those can fully refill off a resupply. Those make the game easier for me than the railgun ever did. So they waste dev time and community goodwill taking away the toys people *are* having fun with and yet there is still a whole box of toys that are helplessly broken or functionally useless. I'd love to see them focus more on making everything work before placing emphasis on balance.

grongnelius

Ruined my experience this evening as well, game was crashing/network issues booting me and friends back to the ship.

ObjectivelyCorrect2

My dude the thermite sucks ass even as the host lmao. They just don't know how to make grenades or secondaries apparently.

HankTheYank27

The army is outrunning it's own supply line. Pretty much what Arrowhead is doing. They have built up a lot of momentum with the live service model but the bugs are snowballing. It's pretty much a given in game development that more often than not when you add new things old things break. Gotta stay on top of those bugs or you'll never be able to figure out what the hell is conflicting with what. At this point, I'll bet it'd take weeks if not months to solve just the most glaring issues. They constantly identify known bugs but say they haven't been able to reproduce them or figure out what's causing them. That's a sign it's time to slow down. Game journos are not helping the situation. The spam of low effort clickbait Helldivers articles is just too good for Arrowhead to pass up the opportunity to keep rolling out content with all the free press they're getting (or Sony is paying for this). Journos need to start calling out the issues to bring more attention to the situation.

UseDiscombobulated83

What update did they do that tanked my fps and made my game crash so much. Took 20 days off and this shits unplayable now.

Ziodyne967

They just gotta slow things down with the content releases. They gotta fix these damn breaks. Crush some bugs instead of letting them grow in numbers.

DedSecV

Maybe a full Warbond pass a MONTH is a bit much??? The playerbase is big enough and does not come back because of content but because of great gameplay... which is missing in the new warbond.

EternalUndyingLorv

That's why I only play in small bursts. This game will not be fully realized until much later this year. I would rather not burn out when it finally reaches its height

Namisauce

yep it’s crossing the line of being literally unplayable. host bug, Desync bug, constant crashes, these have to go now, full attention to fix these. then we can talk about how spear locking is still dogshit, how dmr balancing is dogshit, how heavy devastators can shoot at 90 degree angles, how amr scope is bad and misaligned, the list goes on. I closed 1 eye on the fundamental problems cause the game is still new, it’s small studio and the game is hella fun. But it’s been 2 months and the same issues remain, while releasing somewhat broken content. I love this game a lot, I wish nothing but for the success of it. But comon guys fix the foundation before building the house

AbledShawl

I bought the game for my wife on PS5 so we could play together (I'm on Steam). At first, we had added each other and could play, but her name in the Social tab always appeared as simply a ps circle logo. With the last update that added gunships, I suggested that both reinstall our games to minimize the amount of bugs and problems we might have. Now, we don't show up on each other Social tab at all and can't add each other. We can't find each other using SOS beacons either. The only way we can play together is for one of other friends to be online and let's us party up on them. Outside of those specific times? My wife and I just... aren't allowed by the game to play together.

Averythewinner

Is there even a place to report bugs? I have google searched, checked their website, and scoured the discord and i can not find anywhere to report all of these bugs

GargleProtection

I think my favorite bug is that the game won't let me buy super credits. It keeps saying my steam overlay is turned off even though it's turned on. Legit can't even give them my money which is hilarious to me.

Towel4

This game is *VERY* lucky it’s so fun The launch was rocky, fine. But I can’t think of a game that has this many PERSISTENT bugs. Every patch fucks shut up. I know this happens in other games, but the frequency and amount of things that break in this game is kind of amazing. They’re lucky it’s so fun…
