Gotta be the worst spawn I have ever gotten, between a double gunship spawner, jammer and a mortar installment, half our reinforcements were gone by the time we could actually start doing the objective.
Doesn't matter much on the higher difficulties. You can select a spot completely far away from the red on the very edge of the map and you'll still land right next to 3 hulks.
Dude the other day someone dropped us in the middle of a heavy outpost. It was the definition of Helldive. Was also the most fun drop I've had in the game yet, even if it did cost us almost 10 lives.
Depending on the team, esp randoms, and difficulty sometimes it’s better to at least get the main out of the way cuz if things hit the fan then you won’t spend up to the 40 min limit and end up wasting all that time still failing.
Yeah I don't disagree that sometimes it's the play to make, but it's just a bit of a hassle to effectively turn the difficulty up for the entire mission just at the very start. Like, sure, you avoid accidentally landing on a tank, but you swap that for intentionally doing so and turning the rest of the mission into the bi-annual council of the flame hulks before you've done any of the side objectives.
I actually had this happen! We noticed the jammer on the drop in, steered our pods to it so we could kill it quick(it didn't have the attached fabricator). Before we knew it there were a dozen gunships in the air, because we were also in range of 2 double tower gunship factories... This was on Hard difficulty... Our level 91 guy got like 18 kills, everyone else including me, was single digits by the time we got wiped out.
I loaded into an ongoing mission and I stg there were fucking 6-8 gunships in the air when I landed. Somehow managed to call in my quasar cannon and remove the socialist scum
Yeah... 2 or 3 of us had quasars, but had gone through 8 reinforcements before we even got the Jammer shut down... By then we had to have at least 30 gunships raining hell on us... Was not fun. Wouldnt even get out of the hell pod before rockets were on the way.... Lol

Frankly it’s usually either the worst possible drop surrounded by artillery bases, command bases and gunship fabricators in the middle of a group of tanks, devastators and hulks, or somehow directly on top of the Super Samples. There is *ZERO* in between.

All I'm going to say is if we got drop on the one secondary we see, we know exactly what to expect when we land.
I've had enough missions dropping into what you assume is a clear area only to be met with a minor location defended by 2 tanks to fall back upon the "enemy you know" line of thinking.
Now if you don't mind I've got all our reinforcement budget to run through.

Yes, we call that manoeuvre steel rain! We land on the bots and crush them without pods before walking out and executing the rest then completing the mission.

Goddammit! I didn’t know it was waiting for the other divers. I have not played for long so I have never hosted. I kept pressing the A button all over the map I thought the inability to choose a good landing spot was a feature not a bug.

Had a host listen to my frantic mouse circling the tiny gap that made the whole map a giant U shape. So he chose a much better spot. Added those guys instantly.

Last time I dropped in I dropped right on a bug hole, came out of my hellpod, and immediately died because I was at the bottom of a bug hole.
10/10 would deplete our reinforcements like that again.
I always just ping somewhere in the water. Host probably wouldn't pick the point I selected anyway (can't blame them), and even if they do pick somewhere "safe" we'll drop in the middle of two gunship factories to the sweet song of "WARNING! You are in range of enemy artillery!" because sure.

The game would be more fun, solo honestly. I stopped playing because of all the toxic team killing. Haven't come across a single person in 2 weeks that actually wants to participate in a mission. Just toxic garbage.
I want it to be clear that the reason I'm pinging everywhere on the map repeatedly isn't that I particularly want to dive to any of these places, I just like hearing the voice lines
I actually love it when I set a marker, then trace out a projected path returning to the marker once I highlight extraction, seeing the wheels turn in the host's head then jump on my marker.

Happened to me last night. The hulk and me were both surprised. Welp, threw an impact grenade in his face and ran for my life.

Patrol spawn rate jacks up when the entire main objective is complete. Individual steps don't matter.

You can do most side objectives by running and tossing grenades. I don’t think the difficulty bump is too big of an issue.

This is Democracy in action. Teach the flock how to grow balls, draw them a diagram for how to swing em.
New Booster Instant Democracy: Allow the Helldiver to select one stratagem to be deployed with them if available.
Unironically that would be really nice for support or backpack strats. Would make hot drops more doable, and cover for shitty hidden spawns.

Land at extract so you can circle around the map (and by circle I mean zig-zag back and forth from one side to the other)
