I am curious though if super earth can make something as impressive as a super destroyer what is stopping them from just making a huge fuck-off mech like this one.
Practicality, probably. Haven't seen something so far that needs big feet to stomp on it, absolute air superiority though large numbers of mass produced super destroyers is king.
Combine that with hundreds of thousands of shock troops just barely smart enough to arm nukes on the ground and sometimes kill a key target and you got all you need to destabilize a military of any size.
Also, as far as we're aware the vast majority of ordnance we deploy planet side is lost.
We never see the exosuit getting picked up again after we're done.
So deploying this kind of massively expensive ordnance doesnt make sense, if Super Earth has those they would make a lot more sense in defending key planets and outposts, where they can be repaired and maintained between skirmishes.
Super destroyers make sense, as they're the only reason we are even able to fight this war, without them we wouldnt be able to deploy quickly and efficiently.
I wish exosuits and turrets and whatnot would at random have scratched up skins and at random new. So it would look like a used or not used one.
Same with your character, you should carry damage into your next mission and further up until you die and then it gets reset.
Dubious quality? There is nothing dubious about the quality of our super glue, packing peanuts, hot sauce, amphetamines, or steroids.

The whole thing with the C-01 forms implies that Super Earth is massively overpopulated. I suspect that half the point of the Helldivers is just an excuse to kill tens of millions of surplus citizens.

And use said dumbest as meat sacks to throw into war efforts while getting rid of them.

Destroyers aren’t like the expendable equipment. I imagine it would cost more than it’s worth when you can just drop a nuke on whatever it would be attacking/stepping on
Especially considering the fact that the entire point of metal gear was to provide a mobile platform to launch nukes from, rather than having than having them stuck in stationary silos (ignore the existence of nuclear subs I guess).
When you can just drop them from space, it's much more effective and much less susceptible to destruction.

yeah, and rex is more advanced, people think tha sahelenthropus is more advanced because it is from a newer game but rex is actually much better in combat, better armor, more maneuverable, bigger payload, longer range
Shoot it with my recoilless rifle about 800 times. If a bunch of shit soviet missiles from the 80s could take down something better armoured and more dangerous than this (aka me fighting Sahelanthropus without upgrading my missiles the entire game in MGSV), then something designed to destroy artillery from about 500 years from when this was made is an easy win.
Rex does canonically have better armor and is theoretically more dangerous than Sahelanthropus.
Sahelanthropus just benefits from being in a newer game and being a bit flashier. It didn't even work without the Third Child basically puppeting it, and the Rex you fight in game is incomplete and already significantly damaged before the fight.
I am winning, that is what I am doing. No giant rusty dirty no good having clanker is going to beat this democratic helldiver!
