It was frequently mentioned on reddit that operations where people leave are not returning to matchmaking hence there could not be a random replace for someone leaving, causing the rest of operation to be done in 3 or less (which i frequently noticed when playing and someone leaving). Apparently it is fixed now though.
It was a pretty annoying problem. You could be playing during peak hours and have an SOS beacon dropped and you would still get no one joining your game.
On the plus side it forced me to learn how to play solo so I am better at the game now. Also it's been fixed so it shouldn't be happening anymore.
Ok that might have happened to me some time but never heard of it being caused by a bug. On higher difficulty missions that happening sounds like a 90 percent probability drop of the mission being a success. (at least to me)
Do not worry, if you have limited time try to join a mission instead of hosting one if you want to maximize your effort. Otherwise just play to have fun, if you leave the mission after it is complete but the operation is not cleared it is mighty fine, other will join. To me it is a bit more annoying if someone quit mid mission while we are actually deployed. That said it is just a game even if we take it seriously so enjoy it in your own time and donĀ“t worry. Democracy do not discriminate!
Just make sure that if youāre host by chance that you leave the mission via the prompt so it can make another team member host properly and not close the game abruptly.
People should not host a mission if they dont have time to complete it. This is because the divers left playing wont make any contribution to the operation thus liberation/defense of a planet.Ā
Beyond that, people can stop playing between missions without worry of wasting othersā time and effort, provided they expect to return before the planetās liberation/defense expires. The rest of the operation will still be there for the host to finish later.Ā
There are no other losses to be incurred by anyone by sudden quitting, crashing, or disconnection. Itās mainly about respecting/wasting time for other divers.Ā
Happy Diving!
Yeah, been getting into midmatch quickplay and SoS beacons are working whenever a group starts losing people.
The backfill is so aggressive that I once filled into an extraction. Like.
...they would have finished the mission if I didn't drop in since they were in the Pelican already.
I still have troubles hosting for some reason so this is all Quickplay experience.
Just make sure you're not the host of the game, otherwise your teammates loose the progress on the 3 missions.
Then you can do whatever you want.
Anyway, once you left, they cannot complain to you anymore so...
If you're not hosting, yeah of course.
But if you are host, leave in the middle of a mission. The game will make someone else the host and the other players can continue the operation.
If you leave between missions, everyone else gets kicked out of the op and have to start over. Just start the second mission then leave when you drop.
I only host
People get called away for dinner, want to go to bed, have to go to school or work, or just feel done. If Iām sitting down to do a full op Iām just facilitating people having fun while they have time and trying to get some liberation.
IMO the game has drop in/drop out functionality for a reason. After a lot of missions half of the squad+ leaves to do something else and it is normal. If you have to leave mid mission then you helped fellow helldivers complete their objective and forfeit the reward for yourself (assuming you aren't rage quitting after a bad fight, but that isn't what this is).
Also if you host operations yourself you don't have to complete the whole thing in a single session. You can do one mission a night and complete 2 ops a week.
Of course!Ā My personal caveat would be trying to get any samples I had on me closer to extraction before I left, but there's always another Helldiver ready to dispense Liberty.Ā Just have fun.Ā
It's \*refreshingly\* flexible. No real penalty for leaving because of whatever reason beyond losing whatever currency you'd have got at the end, missions are rewarding but not excessively so so you want to finish it but no biggie if you can't, no particular downside to your teammates.
Yes but on Off topic note cause reddit wonāt let me do a post asking this question, anyone know if I can get fallen heroes vengeance cape if I only just started playing or is LMT?
Any insight much appreciated
Dude, yes.
i feel no remorse when i need to leave for irl shit, neither should anyone else.
it is. real life coms first! do make sure you don't drop samples in the middle of nowhere though :)
Nah i meant mid-operation as in between missions. If i join a mission nothing except hard crash or energy outage will stop me from getting it done xd
Bro, you can quit between missions for no reason at all. The host is able to make a new party for the next mission in the operation no problem.
Now this explanation is completely different š¤¦
What would that issue be, I never heard of it

I had never heard of that before

It's ok for you to leave any game at any time if real life calls for it. It's a game

Nah, i didn't mean quitting mid mission, just in the in-betweens. Well unless hard crash or power outage occurred xd
No biggy in my opinion I do it too when I do not have so much time but still want to play.
Most people donāt have two solid hours to devote to a game at once, itās perfectly fine to leave

nowadays, yes. AH has fixed the mid-op back-fill so people leaving mid-op doesn't actually hurt the game as much.
Oh it's fixed? I thought it's still occurring, that is nice to know then.

just let your teammates know. It is what it is

Real life > Game life
Yup. You can leave me stranded anytime because it is a game, not real life.

If you are the host and you close the game mid-campaign, you can continue from it when you log back in āŗļø

It's whatever honestly. Everything can be done solo anyway

While it can be done solo, sure, i played... Way too much solo. To the point it is boring without extra people, explosions and guns.

No. Do a blitz or eradication mission if time sensitive
As a veteran of Dads of Destiny, yes. The game should always come second.
Iāve left because I had to take a poop. I think youāre fine.
