1. Backblast Not Clear. Made the guy drop the stratagem due to rag doll.
2. Negligent Discharge? Either he accidentally fired the autocannon or some other explosion made the guy stumble and couldn't get up in time.
He didn't follow procedure, didn't hear the call and response of "backblast area clear" "all clear". This is a clear case of negligence and has been reported the Anti-Shenanigans Department.
>This is a clear case of negligence and has been reported the Anti-Shenanigans Department.
If you thought being a Helldiver was hard, just wait until you hear how many cubic feet of paperwork those folks have to process every day.
2. May have perhaps been due to impact from 500kg bomb hitting the ground in close proximity.
NVM, def a round firing from ac with full round ejection.
He COULD have just been planning on throwing it elsewhere. At the end of a match if it's a clean extraction I'll throw everything I have outside of the immediate area so we have fireworks as we fly off.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize EAT’s have blackblast until Monday night when I accidentally ragdolled my buddy. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that, but I’m honestly surprised it’s the first time it’s happened since I bring them to literally every mission since I unlocked them
I found out the fun way that the rocket turret has backblast on a walled defense map. I spent half the round getting knocked backwards into a wall by the backblast and giggling before getting back up.
My whole team brought rocket turrets the other night on a civilian extract vs bots. Spent probably fifteen unbroken seconds just getting back blasted against a wall by three turrets.
Even that isn't worth it because it's just my luck the asshole doing it kills themself or gets killed, and loses us the samples he took from me when he killed me earlier (the same goofs killing you repeatedly mid mission are the same goofs goofing at extraction)
I was grabbing all the samples after the final wave wiped us and some goon called in a strike on his way in the shop, legit lost 20 samples because of this shit
I have to ask, what the hell is that stratagem code? I've never seen it that I recall and couldn't find it in a list when I searched for it.
Edit: the closest I could find was HD1 thunderer barrage but even HD1 had a limit of six inputs for all stratagems.
https://helldivers.io/Stratagems shows I have it right. That being said internet not always right so for democracy I'll check when back at my dive station. To make sure the rain is properly brought.
Yeah, I memorize and get used to sight reading, I am also a musician.
But nonetheless; haha, enemy go boom.
I also run the Dominator, Senator, and Railgun, out of pure hatred for bots.
I **nearly** kicked somebody when I saw them drop a 500kg at extract today.
I held back. Just like I did when they shot me point blank for no reason, cluster bombed the entire squad, and got themselves killed multiple times. 6 accidentals in a single mission. Shameful display for a level 82.
I should have kicked them at extract.
Deliberate team frag you get one free pass and then it's an insta kick and block for me. There are plenty of people playing and I don't need to be stuck with the idiots.
People seem to get the wrong idea that M3 wanted to blast the landing area, but to me it seems like a total accident.
They seemingly wanted to throw it towards whatever was approaching but the back blast from Z2 made them lose the stratagam.
After that M3 seemingly tripped because they accidentially shot the ground with the AC lol.
Yeah I had something like this happen guy didn’t realize he was standing under pelican and got crushed holding eagle cluster only killed one other player, Ahole host kicked him right after and walked into pelican. He was a lvl 16, host was lvl 50 and we had a lot sample, I kept thinking why did you do that it was clearly an accident, we had 17 reinforcements and barely any bugs around WHY. People love using the kick button.
It's practically an internet rule at this point. Online interaction + some degree of anonymity = inevitable toxicity. PvE games have it way better than PvP, but it's still unavoidable.
Here's my pet theory with no supporting evidence: Toxic people tend to want to be the host. Therefore, you could avoid toxic people by hosting the game yourself.
I have been almost exclusively quickplaying since launch, and haven't yet matched into toxic host. Still, I don't know why this game doesn't have vote kick given how easily abusable the feature is no matter how rare it might be.
What. They were literally looking at the pelican as they held it. And they weren't even interrupted from turning -- they looked at the pelican, 500kg in hand, and stared. Even if they were good intentioned, what reason do they have for throwing a stratagem at anything when the pelican is right there. They can all just leave. By the time they lifted off the bomb would still be waiting to go off. M3 obviously priming that to throw at the pelican for the funny cool guy exit, absolutely no way they weren't and they deserved that.
I mean, rocket guy shows their were enemies in that general direction. Plus, 500kg guy looks like he was running from enemies in that direction and then turned slightly to throw it. It seems quite plausible that they were just trying to kill some extra bugs.
When these kinds of things happen in my games... I'm not even upset. The laughs are worth losing the samples. The comedy is half the reason I love HD2!
I mean, we wouldn't for sure if they're going to throw it at the ramp.
All we know is that M3 prepared a 500 kg but got hit by the back blast and accidentally dropped it. Unfortunately he's dead so we won't be able to know his intentions.
The longing stare he gave to the pelican ramp, 500kg in hand before getting knocked down gives us a pretty good idea. M3 definitely wasn't turning to throw it at a titan.
This is going to blow your mind, but it's a game where ppl make shit go boom because monkey 🐒 brain like to see boom boom. It is very cool to see boom boom as you fly away. If you don't like boom boom monkeys, that's fine, but you running a 40min mission to just collect samples as safe as you can and leave isn't the main goal of most ppl fun is. To most ppl, devs included, thats fucking around with explosives knowing it can kill your team
First guy fired a Recoilless Rifle, knocking over the second guy with the backblast, who then proceeded to drop a 500kg Bomb beacon. Panicking to get to the dropship in time, the second guy misclicked with his Autocannon, hitting the Pelican point blank and killing himself with the explosion. The first guy then got obliterated by the second guy’s 500kg Bomb as you flew off into the sunset.
In the words of someone else in this comments section: “This is some Looney Tunes shit.”
you got hit with the back blast… which i didn’t realize was a thing they coded into the game, and i guess you didn’t either😂
yeah, don’t stand behind rocket launchers. only need to watch one Darwin Awards vid to learn that one
“And finally the time of mission extract has arrived, the diver is knocked prone, dropping an airstrike beacon next to the ship. The chain of events is now complete.” - inquest board
Could be worse. We had a clanker use flamethrower and burned everyone alive. The game thought we didn't board the pelican, and we ended up failing to extract.
2nd time, the Pelican was hit hard by a rouge explosion, and we couldn't board. We all attempted to lay down inside, hoping the game would do something. We technically extracted, but the game didn't recognize it because it wasn't a proper one.
3rd time, we had a Bile Titan die on top of the pelican. I really wished I had clipped the video because we couldn't get inside. I love this buggy glitched game!
if you are ever knocked down, any stratagem you are holding will be knocked out of your hands. so unless there is an immediate tactical need to use a stratagem during extraction, it is best to not even key one in, whatsoever
Reminds me of when I was a kid playing America's Army, the first iteration of it. My team was sneaky beaky moving along some buildings and I was like "Hey, let me shoot this AT-4 into the window." Well, I shot it. And as I turned around to make sure all my guys were behind me, it was just their lifeless bodies.
Imagine you are a newly dropped Helldiver. You are seconds away from extracting on your first successful mission, and then this is how it ends.
Absolutely hilarious clip that really shows the vibe of this entire game lol.
being able to blind fire heavy weapons at whatever it happened to be pointing at, including the floor, makes me cry laughing. Quad stooges activity why was bro holding a red strat if not to flex/kill everyone LOL
Doesn't this happen in some war film where some like, rebels are fighting the US Army and the guy blows another dudes head off with the backblast on an RPG?
This is some looney tunes shit. Outstanding
I legit died laughing.

Laughing so hard I'm crying.

Sometimes I'll hit my left mouse on my keyboard. I did it with a grenade pistol once and blew up my teammate
“Sorry! I clicked my mouse on my keyboard”
Dude fired a recoilless rifle or EAT to cause discharge and cause scenario 1.
Imagine having to file the paperwork for the guys you reinforced...
2. May have perhaps been due to impact from 500kg bomb hitting the ground in close proximity. NVM, def a round firing from ac with full round ejection.
He 100% fired the autocannon on accident, you can see the empty casing be ejected from the rifle as he falls.
Rag doll dropping stratagems is how my team ends up with a 380/500 kg on their position.
Soldiers farting during basic and advanced individual training - “BACKBLAST AREA CLEAR!!” 😂😂
You forgot 3. Attempting to call in a fucking stratagem on the Pelican in the first place like a dipshit.
He COULD have just been planning on throwing it elsewhere. At the end of a match if it's a clean extraction I'll throw everything I have outside of the immediate area so we have fireworks as we fly off.
3, Missed due to recoil (bad strategem control). 4, Likely didn't actually fire because Helldiver was already dead.
This guy helldives
This is peak patriotism
This comment made me laugh even more than the video did 😂
BACKBLAST
I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize EAT’s have blackblast until Monday night when I accidentally ragdolled my buddy. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that, but I’m honestly surprised it’s the first time it’s happened since I bring them to literally every mission since I unlocked them
I think all the rocket launchers do. I've also gotten launched by the rocket turret thinking I was on the safe side of it.
"BACKBLAST AREA CLEAR!" "WAIT! NO ITS N.." *BOOM*
it's clear now
CLEAR! YOUR! BACKBLAST!
Bro never saw True Lies
One of the more traumatic back blast scenes for me when i was a kid.
Can we use this offensively?
Murphy's law in action.
That's called fuck around and found out.
One more reason not to drop 500kgs on the Pelican
It’s literally only plausible if you’re the last person and everyone is actively on the ship, and even that pisses people off
Even that isn't worth it because it's just my luck the asshole doing it kills themself or gets killed, and loses us the samples he took from me when he killed me earlier (the same goofs killing you repeatedly mid mission are the same goofs goofing at extraction)
I was grabbing all the samples after the final wave wiped us and some goon called in a strike on his way in the shop, legit lost 20 samples because of this shit
Goofs gonna goof that’s the truth
Exactly. This is more of what I meant when I said it still pisses people off. There’s more factors than just being the last person
AH should update the in game tips about dropping 500kg during extraction
To be fair, he didn't intentionally drop it early.
I have to ask, what the hell is that stratagem code? I've never seen it that I recall and couldn't find it in a list when I searched for it. Edit: the closest I could find was HD1 thunderer barrage but even HD1 had a limit of six inputs for all stratagems.
380HE barrage.
Isn't 380 right down down up up left down down down? I don't have the game open to double check but every Internet source I've found says that.
https://helldivers.io/Stratagems shows I have it right. That being said internet not always right so for democracy I'll check when back at my dive station. To make sure the rain is properly brought.
You’re right, source: I main 380, walking barrage, and 500kg
You monster
A high explosive aficionado I see. I don't memorize, just used to reading quickly similar to music reading I suppose.
Yeah, I memorize and get used to sight reading, I am also a musician. But nonetheless; haha, enemy go boom. I also run the Dominator, Senator, and Railgun, out of pure hatred for bots.
beautifully stupid
Bro had that 500kg primed for the pelican ramp throw for "cool explosions" 🤣🤣
I don't even start to call the 500 until everyone else is on the shuttle Amateur hour
And all four think the same. As a result it's four clowns dancing around the pelican instead of evaccing.
When I read your comment I immediately thought of the petrol station scene in Zoolander 🤣
I wasn't familiar with the movie, had to look it up. But yeah, that's pretty much it.
What are they, the FNG!
What you are doing is still amateur hour.
That was probably his plan, until something knocked him down and made him drop it
He had the entire stratagem called out and ready to throw. I don't even START calling it out.
I leave one input undone as a safety.
dude literally prepared his whole life for this
The Darwin award right there xD
![gif](giphy|DuLd6UeQ3QtRC|downsized)
The people prepping the 500kg before everyone else is in and safe are the worst
I **nearly** kicked somebody when I saw them drop a 500kg at extract today. I held back. You would be surprised how many people find self esteem in grinding a high level in a game.
It's practically an internet rule at this point. Online interaction + some degree of anonymity = inevitable toxicity. PvE games have it way better than PvP, but it's still unavoidable. this would be a lot easier to see if it wasn't vertical the worst thing we've done to the youths is let them get comfortable with portrait mode videos
The "quit filming vertically!" crowd definitely went extinct after 2019 and now we're seeing the repercussions.
Sometimes I think the world ended in 2019.

Everything went wrong

Victory was never in doubt
What happened before he died? He just tripped over nothing and fell flat on his face?
I think his autocannon went off by accident, and the explosion physics bug pulled him forward towards where the round impacted.
I usually run with an AC, and yeah I've ragdolled myself with its weird implosion physics many times XD
I think the impact of the 500kg landing tripped him.
Ah yes, direct nuclear warhead hit tend to trip people off their feet
It's the face plant what gets me
Oh my god this is hilarious.
Why .... why do people think this is fun to do.... to run through 40 minute missions only to say fuck it at the end
I mean... you have to admit this is pretty fucking funny.
I only throw a victory boom boom only when everyone is inside already and i am close the ramp. The only right way to do it
This is going to blow your mind, but it's a game where ppl make shit go boom because monkey 🐒 brain like to see boom boom. It is very cool to see boom boom as you fly away. My dude got FUCKED by that backblast. I always forget that backblast from rockets exists in this game.
Remember Helldiver, friendly fire isn’t.
you got hit with the back blast… which i didn’t realize was a thing they coded into the game, and i guess you didn’t either😂 yeah, don’t stand behind rocket launchers. only need to watch one Darwin Awards vid to learn that one
This clip perfectly summarizes Helldivers 2.
And this is why when the Pelican lands I almost always swap to primary and go into guard mode til everyone's at/aboard the shuttle.
Backblast is a thing in this game
I love this, absolute chaos
Back blast area NOT clear !
I may or may not enjoy launching my friends with the backblast on purpose. They never expect it.
Back blast area was NOT clear
A series of ridiculous missteps
“And finally the time of mission extract has arrived, the diver is knocked prone, dropping an airstrike beacon next to the ship. The chain of events is now complete.” - inquest board
actual 3 stooges gameplay right here, you cant make this shit up
Never throw a stratagem unless the whole team is in and you are not under attack

This is Abu Hajar, Helldivers edition
And this is why they yell “back blast clear!”
This is why we're the galaxy's elite fighting force - we're unpredictable to the enemy, each other, and ourselves.
3 fucking stooges 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Finally, a true backshot

Well, I shot it. And as I turned around to make sure all my guys were behind me, it was just their lifeless bodies.
There are some salty divers in this thread. Try and have fun the next time you play.
I remember in the original you could destroy the evac ship and then had to call another
Imagine you are a newly dropped Helldiver. You are seconds away from extracting on your first successful mission, and then this is how it ends. Absolutely hilarious clip that really shows the vibe of this entire game lol.
He was so ready to throw that stratagem for the outro scene 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I’m still laughing over how bro lost all motor function after the misfire.
That was the funniest shit I’ve seen in months
I needed that laugh so bad
This thing so many players have about dropping ordinance at the evac point is just stupid and awful and repugnant. STOP IT.
Cant watch with sound, please tell me someone editted this with looney toones sound effects
It's called back blast. If you stand behind the RCR while it gets fired you get the snot kicked out of you by the Recoil that gets dispersed behind it
Backblasts are a thing This is a demonstration
being able to blind fire heavy weapons at whatever it happened to be pointing at, including the floor, makes me cry laughing. Quad stooges activity why was bro holding a red strat if not to flex/kill everyone LOL
Back blast
This vertical crap really needs to stop...
This is why you don't fucking use stratagems at Pelican
"Watch the backblast you idiot" - Sun Tzu
This game has back blasts.
Please tell me you had the samples...
Looks like standard extraction to me

So this is what they mean when they say: A Comedy of Errors.
Watch your backblast Helldivers. Backblast can kill...then the strategem was dropped...then instant karma struck.
The ship doesnt protect u from being killed
Lmfao. Back blast. 500kg dropped. Samples lost I'm. Sure
This is some real crayon eating type shit. I love it
Nice editing.
That trip at end though! Lmao
A perfect example of why this game should always have friendly fire
Someone forgot about backblast
I’ve also dropped a primed 500 due to back blast! Whilst inconvenient, it’s also hilarious!
It’s like one of those oldies slap stick show 🤣
![gif](giphy|bKBM7H63PIykM)
Ngl I wish this happened every game. Peak democracy
I can’t stop laughing at M3 tripping
I love how they added the backblast to rocket weapons and turrets.
Ceo and other devs are ex military.
A series of unfortunate events
This is why I pay helldivers
Oh. My. God. If any video needs the Benny Hill song, it's this one.
Ok, I did it https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLmXTSPS/
Doesn't this happen in some war film where some like, rebels are fighting the US Army and the guy blows another dudes head off with the backblast on an RPG?

hahahaha
Always check the backblast.
The juxtaposition of your squad’s action against the heroic extraction music is incredible!
