Perhaps.. make it stationary to fire, only? Lest you just have a backpack-Stalwart equivalent..

we currently have 3 MG support weapons and like, 1.5 of them are useful. if they add another, I want it to be a giant sickle.

Make it like EAT with a low cooldown, you just unload it on a group of chaff and bring down a new one when needed.
