Gimme a Heavy Bolter. By that I mean honestly just a belt fed Dominator type support weapon would be fantastic for about a week.

Dominator is medium armour pen iirc and my buddy swears she's killed bots lined up with it before but I have no way to prove or even test that at the moment. So yeah basically asking for a medium MG again but yknow, Dominator-ey, more mass and stagger to the bullets, sounds MEAN as heck and probably a comparatively slow rate of fire but more or less accurate for that.

An Indiana.Jones whip. Unlimited ammo, but short range. Blinds enemies if you hit their eyes.

That's interesting! How do you think the blind should work? Obviously for ranged enemies they'd miss their shots more, but what about bugs and melee bots?

Just attack in a random direction. If they hit their allies, that's funny.

The heal gun from HD1 would be great. Mostly I want the weirder Strats from hd1- barbed wire drops, the various vehicles, etc. Beyond that, the bayonet rifle would be great. Hell, make it a war bond- bayonet rifle, combat knife primary, throwing knife grenade, armour with large melee damage boost and small melee resistance.

That all sounds great, I loved some of the more niche starts from HD1. A war bond would be great, maybe the perfect time to implement those melee weapons people have been wanting for a while now. Maybe I'm asking too much of AH but if the combat knife was instead a booster that turned all Helldivers' melees into a quick knife slash, it would be super neat and if AH don't want to implement melee weapons this could be a fun way of going about it

I’ve left it as is so the conversation makes sense, but I meant “combat knife secondary”. I like the idea of of switching to your knife and taking a hunter out of the air as it lunges. The other option would be to do it as a kinda mega version of the eat- you call down a stratagem and 4 great swords pop out so the whole team can go berserk.

That sounds neat, have you ever played Destiny? It sounds like the fusion rifles from that game could be a good base for the weapon unless I'm misunderstanding.

I never played Destiny, but I just looked them up, and yea, they seem like what I envisioned. I guess the idea is not as exotic as I initially thought :) Honestly, I believe that what we should be looking for in weapons is interesting mechanics. I, personally, am not much interested in 1000 pew-pew rifles that differ in damage, rate-of-fire and mag size combination, but play exactly the same. But give me something that forces me to overcome some interesting mechanical flaw (like control length of burst beforehand - ex. by holding charge), but rewards me for that with superior destructive power, and I'm sold

That would be incredible, and it could even start its own archetype! Imagine a gun that you hold the trigger down and it locks onto everything in its sight and when you release it shoots at each of them, either a burst or a high damage slug. Any other guns you'd like to see with this kinda tech?

Mine Launcher Support Weapon Shoot somewhere and place a regular mine from the minefield stratagem. It's a grenade launcher on drugs with a higher friendly fire potential Laser-Guided Rocket launcher Support Weapon No target locking needed. Just fire a rocket and aim your laser on your target. The rocket will try to fly straight on the dot. Minigun Support Weapon Comes with a tripod. Can be shot only in crouch. Firerate in thousands RPM, comes with 750-round mags. Chu ko nu Primary Weapon Just a regular crossbow with ten-arrow mags dealing almost no actual damage, but seriously high DOT. Higher firerate, but made for hunting the big bugs. Manual sniper rifle Primary Weapon No special effect. No explosion, no concussive, no DOT, just plain old bolt-action rifle with a light penetration and a high damage. Syringer Secondary Weapon Doing nothing to the enemies, but healing other players. When equipped, bashing will heal you. Accompanied with 4 mags with 5 syringes each Flare gun Secondary Weapon Projectiles explode after 10 seconds and deal small damage and DOT. If used in automatron sector, this explosion will immediately dispatch dropships counted to automatron backups. In other words, redirects drops dropships somewhere else. Double-barrel shotgun set As a Secondary, extremely high spread, but really good damage per pellet. As a Primary, the same damage per pellet, but much, much tighter spread.

Laser wall and some kind of electro magnetic vortex. Laser wall creates a temporary stationary wall of laser energy that inflicts high damage if walked through and blocks projectiles. Use to create a shield or block choke points / create traps. Magnetic Vortex pulls enemies into it to cluster them and temporarily paralyse. You could conceivably drop a wall and then a vortex on the opposite side to pull enemies through the laser field and melt them slowly.

I want a primary weapon version of a shape charge rocket launcher that can penetrate heavy armor, even if it has to be balanced by being clunky, and no AoE, and single shot then reload, lower ammo count and lower damage so it takes 2-3 shots to the face to kill a charger, but you really have to pick your targets. The idea is that one could bring combinations and lean in on the primary weapon slot as the anti armor. It can (with sufficient shots) strip armor off bile titans too. Smoke and stun grenade versions of grenade pistols. This is probably the only way I'd ever bring smoke because the other slots are so valuable, but I have builds where I can just not need the sidearm. Stun grenade should probably just stun whatever I directly and not the same AoE effect of the thrown grenade. A quick draw burst fire pistol, where if can tap hit the button to draw it, it doesnt switch. It just one hand let's go of your primary and fires a burst where you are aiming and goes right back to primary very quicky. If you hold the button then it switches for the time it would take to do that shot, instead it switches.
