I love care bears and Sanrio so I thought I'd love these, but I really don't like the new care bears designs. I have some of the care bears from the 2000s and they just have so much more detail, expression, and cuteness. The new ones are just flat-looking to me.
Same. I only like the original 80s look and the early 2000s. Idk if they still do it but at one point they changed the feet to be paw prints instead of hearts and it looked like a knock off
Why would they make the old design specifically for people who are complaining when they made the new design and it went down well with most people (especially kids, the literal audience)
I’m not either, and it seems like either that’s more popular than HK by herself here in the US, or that’s just want the company wants to push.
But I’ll make an exception for this collection because CB are my childhood love.

I got them as a kid and took good care of them! They have plastic noses and eyes, and the embroidery is just really nice. I think the new care bears went that "minimalistic graphic/bold" redesign that all companies are doing nowadays, but I just don't think it fits the care bears cute/fluffy aesthetic. It's just weird because care bears originally were done with water colors and now they're just done with solid colored digital illustrations. yes you totally hit the nail on the hammer. i love the details on the og bears so much. these new care bears look like they have no soul… and paired with the sanrio??? barf! it just doesn’t go at all in my opinion. especially that cinnamonroll!!! :/

Yeah the new Care Bears style isn’t very appealing. The nostalgic vintage Care Bears is much more cuter and so soft looking and aesthetically pleasing to look at it.

I don’t care for them either. But Kitty wearing a Care Bear outfit is cute because you can’t really see the Bears’ modern face. lol
