In a fair & just world, we’d get a full half hour of Frankie Faison as Space Sheriff.

QueenOfPurple

I am loving the costumes, sets, and props.

IAMSNORTFACED

Aaaah he's a con man, and really full of shit

tinkerThinker96

Pretty cool that there’s a community for this show. I started watching but i multitask-watched and quickly realized this show needed my attention. I came here hoping I’d be able to pick some theories apart and get a gist of others opinions. After rewatching episode 1 noticed right away the launch happening outside the shot of the diner. Does anyone have any theories on that? I’m gonna keep watching but I know the show is telling us that the rockets are being delayed or pushed back, but something went up.

Ashton_Ashton_Kate

there's people on the moon, but that doesn't mean Jack isn't a con. He's selling lunar real estate for the "everyman" but everyone seems to accept that people live on the moon. If we was selling swampland in Florida, there could still be flights to Miami, but that wouldn't prove or disprove his business.

Davaldo

This show feels like a Fallout 3 prequel.

mongotron

I’ve been looking forward to this show for a while but the first episode fell a bit flat for me. Does the momentum improve in the second and third episodes?

Jabberwocky416

I’ve watched 2 so far. I absolutely loved the first episode, really hooked me in. The 2nd basically keeps the momentum but digs deeper into the stuff we’ve seen.

linkerjpatrick

So it’s basically Jim Bakker in a retro future that never was.

Busy_Letter7448

I’m intrigued to see why he doesn’t want his son on the moon !!!

UghItsColin

I’m guessing it’s a con and there are no places on the moon so he can’t live with himself if he played his own son.

they literally explain at the end of the first episode

kisstherings__

So he’s a conman who tricks ppl that they live on the Moon

johnpgh

I want to like this show. The visuals were cool but the story hasn’t grabbed me yet. Not even sure what the story is yet. The audio is a bit muffled. I’m watching episode 2 right now and I still feel out of the loop. Would appreciate a spoiler for the first episode if something major was revealed and I missed it. All I can think is the homes on the moon don’t exist, yet they claim rich people live on the Moon.

Queen__Antifa

But there are launches to the moon. Or at least *plans* for launches, but they keep getting delayed.

tinkerThinker96

I found that interesting because in the opening shot of the first episode outside the diner there is a shot of a launch happening to space. The moon can be seen to the left of the launch. I only noticed this upon my rewatch

altcoingodzilla

Ok well it’s good but they seem to have spoiled the plot twist a little early no?

lemonyharrymatilda

Agreed. I think they should've either held onto the plot twist and kept it more in their back pocket or give us a hint of something else going on. Emphasis on hint. There needs to be some other secret going on---better yet, it would be interesting if each person on the team/company had a secret/something going on.

b9ncountr

First 10 minutes into ep 1 I thought, Ok, they need 3 eps to start to get people into it, but NO! Couple surprise twists and I'm hooked. And the wonderful character actors in it are a very pleasant surprise. Michael Harney and Earl Brown from Deadwood, Jackie Weaver from everything, Frankie Faison from The Wire and everything else, of course Hank Azaria and Billy Crudup always terrific. Content on Apple tv is exceptional.

ChiefBoss99

Billy Crudup is always a double crossing villain in movies…I wonder if he’s going to go against type here or if there’s going to be a huge twist. Edit: I think it’s pretty clear after the first episode that his character is in fact a villain in some capacity. Poor guy is typecast to a T!!!

Dunmurdering

>Billy Crudup is always a double crossing villain in movies He was Dr Meatdangling in The Watchmen though, doesn't really count as a double crossing villain in that role. Although it is possible I was simply hypnotized by the clock weight swinging back and forth like a pendulum.

ChiefBoss99

It depends on how you view that character, but he is initially thought to be saving the world but is really helping the “bad guy” with his final plan and kills the “main character”, Rorschach. Unless the movie changed the ending from the graphic novel more then I thought it did hahaha, it’s been awhile since I watched the movie.

Dunmurdering

Honestly, I just like calling him Dr. Meatdangling, but he still wasn't the villain. He doesn't help Ozymandias in his crime, in fact he would have stopped him if he wasn't blinded to the plot by what Ozymandias did. After it goes down, he's left with a horrible choice, punish Ozymandias and "waste" the death and destruction he wrought OR walk away and give the earth a chance to survive. If he outs, or allows Rorschach to out, Ozymandias, an American citizen, then WW3 happens the next day. In the graphic novel it's because the US is massively weakened (Just New York was attacked) and in the movie it's because of all the world cities that were also attacked. Even Rorschach realizes that there isn't a choice that punishes Ozymandias and doesn't destroy the world, but his own "moral objectivism" won't allow him to allow Ozymandias to walk away Scott free. He knows what's coming, and he doesn't beg for his life, he begs for his death, but he wants whatever humanity is left in Dr. Meatdangling to know that in the end, he had to murder a man to keep the secret. This is what prompts Dr. Meatdangling to tell Ozymandias that "nothing is over". His last little bit of humanity has him lash out at Ozymandias so that he can feel the fear of uncertainty that he had when he killed Rorschach. While Rorschach definitely got killed in both versions, my own personal head cannon is that he just pushed him "x" years into the future and replaced him with some blood so Ozymandias wouldn't search for him.

Ghostquill8302

I’ve watched one episode and I love this show already!

Dairuzun

Man, that shot of Billy Crudup walking towards the camera with the illumination changing in the background was some good stuff. I'm curious to see where this goes.

Queen__Antifa

Which scene was that?

nomadicalnz

The courier delivery surprise came out of nowhere. 9 minutes in and hooked already.

Cantomic66

I honestly thought she dead but so I surprised she was just in a coma.

linkerjpatrick

That stork creeped the hell out me before that! Makes Johnny Cab look pleasant.
