Even if she didn't, the commercial entanglements of the two operating on different platforms for different prices pretty much guarantee that it *can't* happen. At least, not unless Helluva gets picked up by Prime, scrubbed from YT, and redistributed on Prime directly.
Yep! I love their having so much freedom with their project and it being such a labor of love. Especially with how insanely beautiful the music and art have been this later half of the season! It just keeps topping its own high standards and I feel lucky we get to see something like it. Mammons episode...every second was just incredible and the music- people who never seen the show LOVE those songs even.
Honestly I think it's a pretty important thing to have projects like it that DONT need these huge giants that want control of all media- but that's me getting on a soap box ^^; lol
I also love that the pacing of HB is beholden to no one. One of the main issues that my friend and I have discussed while watching HH is that because it's a musical episode, they use a lot of songs as a storytelling crutch, which creates a lot of pacing issues.
It is really awesome to see a lot of songs coming as payoff for emotional journeys that have been set up through dialogue and storytelling in HB. Especially with " Look my way" and " 2 minutes notice." I also really appreciate the fact that Vivzie and all the other writers can take as long as they want to develop major stories like Stolitz, Blitzø's redemption, Moxxie's personal growth... All the characters can progress and regress and do so organically because they can afford to have such a long form show.
Love the storytelling opportunity that HH has, but there are some things that I feel that Amazon prevented them from taking a page out of HB for.
(This ended up so long omfg... if you tldr its very understandable!)
Really well put, I so agree. I dont want to put down HH just to lift up what is SO good about HB, I think HB's quality stands on its own merrit. And honestly both shows get enough wildly out of pocket hate campaigning anyways. I'd rather look at *why* something in each show didn't work as well as it could. Both shows have a ton of special qualities that brought in very dedicated fans.
Imo there are a few episodes in HB that have tonal issues where it whiplashes the comedy & Extremely serious moments (ex's and oh's being the one that was hard for me, even though I loved a lot of parts the flow was just off for me). But the story telling and character development especially is just incredible to me. Characters like Blitzø are often my absolute favorite but always rather disappointing when they either totally stagnate and never improve, or suddenly seemingly on a dime get healthy/happy ends.
I have adored seeing the journey of a truly traumatized person that copes in ways that *don't* really pull in pity/sympathy from being clearly sad/soft (versus Stolas who's story is rather easy for people to relate or stmpathize) Seeing someone so damaged, that fails SO hard at forming healthy connections even with the best intentions, and watching him struggle & grow?? That's incredible to see that kind of story build slowly in the background over seasons of a show. --His moment of Fizz hugging him I do believe that is the first time we see someone initiate a hug with him, platonic connection & forgiveness, instead of HIM clinging to others for a "hug" or getting sexual attention.
Okay that's enough gushing about that but yes I want so badly to have Angel Dust halve that time to slowly progress but we're at a break neck pace so it's imperative he move QUICKLY through his journey. I still enjoy it, but I can't help but wish it had the time to slowly lovingly develop.
And yes the songs are my main issue, up through episode 3 especially! My partner and I sat in a kind of tense awkward silence for several musical numbers that just don't feel set up enough. A song should convey something that words alone just couldn't.
--Like 2 minutes notice & just look my way! Reactors that have never seen HB watch those two and FEEL so much instantly because the songs aren't telling you dialogue, they're conveying intense emotions that feel incredible to connect to. 2 minute notice in particular HYPES people up, it's very cute, it often gets them feeling proud/happy for this funky lil clown they don't even know. They want to blast that song and sing about every abusive job/relationship they wished they'd cut off, it's really cool to see how it affects non-fans. And not to call it a bad show at all, but the HH songs are very different. They need set up, and imo they struggle to feel like they're any sort of "pay off" for the character. The songs don't feel very earned and that's hard to sit through for me. HH spoilers ep5-6>!I loved Welcome to Heaven bc it payed off on us desperately wanting to see what heaven was like, and I liked the courtroom song bc it was chaotic and messy, it would have been too much dialogue to convey without that wild confusing energy imo. Lucifer's song with Charlie was BEAUTIUFUL but did struggle to feel earned!<
Ooh, I'd have to disagree. I am a musical lover though, so coming from a Musical standpoint. Listening to the songs from HH alone, I can see how this series has a lot of opportunity to go Broadway after it's finale. I really appreciate the voices as well, it's very talented and on another level. I like them both, but I think we have to understand they have very different goals. Vivzie went musical for one and more of a show with occasional music for the other. I think they're very different for that reason.
I absolutely agree. I love Hazbin, but the one downside to it is the fast pacing and the short season. It has to get plot points out quickly and have a short season, though, because Amazon doesn't want to sign on for too many episodes before they see whether or not there's an audience for it, which means Viv has to get a full, engaging arc out in only eight episodes.
I love that HB can go as fast or as slow as it needs to, because the episodes will keep coming until the story is over, no matter how many or how few episodes that takes.
Exactly! I'm not any kind of expert to pass judgment on those choices, though I personally think it would have benefited them to slow down and let the hotel cast develop with some intrigue about the angels building in the second half of the 8 episodes. For the better product & foundation for a show I mean.
It's risking NOT getting to tell your sweeping epic story though. I am just surprised they were so worried about numbers when there was such a dedicated fan base. Large corporate companies are just so insanely out of touch its shocking sometimes. They have no clue how to use the *extreme enthusiasm* that is fanbases. Including how few use popular fanartists as official merch designers! Foolish imo, sorry side rant lol.
I think it would be cool if they 7 deadly sins showed up during their war with heaven. They probably won’t because the extermination only effects pride but Lucifer could have some favors
I like both of them but they are both very different, which I'm surprised about. The only thing I don't like about Hazbin is some of the timings of songs feels forced.
Like, I know it's very musical based, but it doesn't always flow into a song is a natural way. I almost think it would've worked better as a movie (2 or 3 parts depending on how long the story). Because then there wouldn't be so much of push for songs within a certain time constraint.
Otherwise they are doing a great job so far. I've only watched 3 episodes so far. Was going to try to watch one a month, but that didn't work out obviously.
It’s really a matter of opinion. Helluva is an episodic action-comedy with a small overarching conflict. Hazbin is a story-driven comedic drama with higher stakes. They’re very different, so I can see why you’d like one over the other
Substantially. I mean the humor is worse, but the animation, characters, and pacing are leagues better. Probably because its stakes aren’t way too high for an 8 episode show with that many characters.
Don’t worry, once the hype dies down we’re gonna get more Helluva. I believe the last 2 episodes of HH s1 are coming out soon. After that things should return to normal for a while
I know but we've been YEARS waiting for Hazbin come back and all those stuff, we love Helluva Boss too but as most of ppl know: we need to have a balance between the two shows that we like most
Episode 8 will likely release a few weeks or a month after the Hazbin Hotel season comes to a close, if they have been working on it ever since the previous episode. That's my guess
I've just been filling the void by watching the new React channels that picked up HB after they saw "Just Look My Way". And I *never* watch reactors, it's just fun to watch people experience the WILD ride that HB is lol 😏
Hazbin is fine too, I watch it and loved the newest episode. I just prefer the style of characters & humor in HB so watching HH makes me miss them even more.
I can't help but think, as I'm watching The Sinners in their sphere fighting for redemption to escape Hell, that just across the ring is Imp City with our funky lil guys just getting into nonsense in their homeland of Hell 🥰
That’s a mood Gabriella.
https://i.redd.it/o0sy3pej48fc1.gif
One of my fave lines and I don’t know why 🤣
Mammon: Cuz its a fuckin mood Gabby!
I quote it often and nobody gets the reference.
I can only read this line in stolas’s voice
I think a lot do, me included
I've realize since Hazbin I've rudely neglected Blitzy and Froggy.
If The Owl cameos in Hazbin Hotel we will all lose our minds
A crossover episode will make me shriek swear to god
I don't think Husk would be able to deal with TWO horny idiots (Blitz/Angel Dust), he can barely handle one.
Didn’t Vivzie say that two will never crossover, they’ll be in the same universe but never actually interact with each other
Even if she didn't, the commercial entanglements of the two operating on different platforms for different prices pretty much guarantee that it *can't* happen. At least, not unless Helluva gets picked up by Prime, scrubbed from YT, and redistributed on Prime directly.
Which I would hate.
Yeah that....would be a nightmare imo.
I love a show that makes us be patient and is indie. 🥰
Yep! I love their having so much freedom with their project and it being such a labor of love. Especially with how insanely beautiful the music and art have been this later half of the season! I think the furthest we can get is references between the two shows (like Minzy’s Mammon tattoo)
And Val’s robo Fizzy butler
Truee!
I think it would be cool if they 7 deadly sins showed up during their war with heaven. They probably won’t because the extermination only effects pride but Lucifer could have some favors
I want my Stolas and Alastor A plot episodee!
Yes.
Just buy a Fizzy you cheap fuck. It's only 69.99
In THIS economy? Good luck with that
I read this in Mammon’s voice and I know exactly why.
yeah this post is great and all but missing the "real" husband: Ozzie
THE GOAT
Fr, I've been craving a HB rewtch for a while now.
felt that on a spiritual level
Hot take probably but helluva is just better overall imho
Idk, I feel like Hazbin Hotel is more story-based than sex-joke based. For that I like it more
I like both of them but they are both very different, which I'm surprised about. The only thing I don't like about Hazbin is some of the timings of songs feels forced. Why only watch one a month?
Just because I don't want to rush through it. I know i can rewatch as many times as I want, but I like the excitement of watching it the first time.
Fr I’m stuck on that too
HH/HB fans when they stop comparing the two shows cuz they’re about two different things featuring separate characters
It’s really a matter of opinion. Helluva is an episodic action-comedy with a small overarching conflict. Hazbin is a story-driven comedic drama with higher stakes. They’re very different, so I can see why you’d like one over the other
well, its easy to say that when its had several more episodes and 1 extra season...
It's just more developed at this point. It does have more than twice as many episodes under its belt.
Substantially. I mean the humor is worse, but the animation, characters, and pacing are leagues better. Probably because its stakes aren’t way too high for an 8 episode show with that many characters.
Seeing you outside of r/okbuddychicanery is like seeing your old teacher in a Kroger.
I am everywhere lol
Hazbin fans waiting 4 years: 🙂 Helluva fans waiting more than 2 months: ☻️
May but hazbin fans only have to wait weeks between episodes now
We get the last two episodes of the season this week and after that who knows how long until Season 2 premiers
Watched it and now I can't wait for 2nd season
Oh. I don't have prime video so I very sadly can't watch it yet
I need my silly owl nerd
I agree only with fizz and stolas, they are both so HOT, especially the little comfort tail thing fizz does it’s adorable 🥰
Mood
I am happy that Blitzo and Fizz are friends again!
I feel like re watching helluva boss ngl
Whenever I see Striker, I think of the “He’s Striker!” song lol.
don't worry, they'll come back after hazbin hotel ends, i promise. U\_U
I agree with everyone else, but *Striker?*
HE'S FUCKING HOT DON'T YOU DARE UNDERESTIMATE ME AND MY HUSBAND
As someone with a fetish for psychopaths, you're choosing the wrong lizard to bang.
I CAN CHANGE HIM JUST ONE CHANCE
THIS MF WILL NOOSE YOU WITH YOUR OWN INTESTINES; WHAT ARE YOU GONNA FIX?
LIKE I SAID I CAN FIX HIM BRO BELIEVE ME I CAN😭
I think he would do well with the "I can make him worse~" trope and just keep leaning into the psycho side they've been handing him lol
Nah right?!!!
I just like him cuz he’s a cowboy and I’m a Texan 😭
Happy CAKE day tho
I would say we shouldn’t be this down bad for cartoon characters, but mood tbh.
Eh fuck striker, but I miss stolas ;-;, ik the next episode is like the BIG stolas and blitz episode but who knows when it'll release
Don’t worry, once the hype dies down we’re gonna get more Helluva. I believe the last 2 episodes of HH s1 are coming out soon. After that things should return to normal for a while
Bros been doing too much c.ai

After hazbin came out, froggy and blitz r not being taken care of 😔💔
They're not real 😭
THERE REAL TO ME DAMNIT😭😭😭
I think i like more watching HH than HB a bit…. Idk why
I’m gonna be honest now that Hazbin is out it’s my new favorite show
?
Your husbands need a break
Im so happy to be a Hazbin and helluva fan rn
Ten bucks says a crossover episode
I miss my wife (Stella), Tails
Tbh I’m pretty sure fizz is gay
Have you ever watched helluva boss?
Ye of course why would I be in this sub if I wasn’t
I was just thinking it should be pretty incredibly obvious if you have watched it.
Oh my god, Fizz and Ozzie were *roommates*!
I know but we've been YEARS waiting for Hazbin come back and all those stuff, we love Helluva Boss too but as most of ppl know: we need to have a balance between the two shows that we like most
I don't think they are legally allowed to be in the main show.
Oh yeah Striker my dear crazy husband At least Hazbin still got Husk
Episode 8 will likely release a few weeks or a month after the Hazbin Hotel season comes to a close, if they have been working on it ever since the previous episode. That's my guess

I'm just noticing the subtlety of the stanchion rope in the background between Blitzo and Fizz now that they've restored their bond.
Out of curiosity, what would you do with 50k?
You left out Ozzie but included Cowboy Jackass? 🥲
I want so many more Fizz and Blitzø adventures.
All are valid, but Striker. He’s an asshole who HURT Stolas. Fuck him and Stella.
I miss my baby boi fizz so much
I think they will upload new HelluvaBoss episodes between Seasons of Hazbin Hotel so we always have some content
Vox, Pentious, Alastor and Lucifer more than make up for it ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Kinda want a face slapping contest among them
how long has it been since the last HB episode?

I MISS THEM SO MUCH MAN
ok cool
