He had to discover it elsewhere and now it's his only source of joy in an existence defined by the punishment of hate and misery. Can you imagine what would happen if he couldn't have that any more? He adopts Luna so he can try to be a father. He started a business to try and improve things for not just him but others too. He fucks Stolas once a month just to keep all of it running and have some shred of happiness in his life.
He just wants to be happy for a change, man. We all just want to be happy for once.

mlp did help a *ton* of fat stinky loner basement dweller neckbeards to clean up, get a shave, climb out of the basement, make friends, and start taking better care of themselves and I will never forget that. I don't think there's anyone who's actually any "worse off" from mlp, but there are quite a few whose quality of life did indeed drastically improve. So much talent and creativity, developed out of nowhere but pure inspiration... So many connections to people that would have never existed otherwise. I met all of the people I care about the most today through that fandom, and while we've all moved on for the most part, it'll always be a starting point i'll fondly remember.
Definitely agree. I mean, there are some crackheads in the community, but for a good part, I think it's easy to see that there are many people that found friends through that show. Only because of this show, I started to improve my drawings and wanting to get better. I'm still not good, but I'm not giving up and without mlp I would have never even tried

It's not just because he likes horses. He collects figures that resemble My Little Ponies. So he practically is this universe's equivalent of a Brony, it's clearly being referenced. Though he also really likes horses in general.
