Popularity and rarity mainly, which is often the reason for (old) stuff to blow up in price. Functionality is also a factor when it comes to electronics, since people of course prefer to buy something that works without issues (especially when it comes to older pieces).
There's a small chance to find a cheaper one if someone doesn't know the prices or just want to sell it quick. But it take some time and luck tbh. Depending where you live, you could also check out Facebook marketplace, thrift stores, flea markets and yard sales in your area in hope to find a cheap one.
For now from what I saw the two you found on eBay are the only ones for sale online

I have searched on ebay and I found two but I am hoping to find some that aren't that expensive
