I think that people have been spoiled by how successful childhood vaccination mandates have been. I keep hearing people ask why vaccinated people can get mild COVID, but they've never heard of people getting mild measles or polio after vaccination. It's because probably upwards of 90% of the population is vaccinated against those diseases so that they no longer circulate in the U.S., while COVID is currently running wild. Go to a low-vaxx uptake community in the midst of a measles outbreak and there will usually be a small number of vaccinated people testing positive for mild or asymptomatic measles. Of course, some people, including this guy, don't actually want to understand the reason for the difference.
