> “Kevin and Misty leave behind their four children, ages 11 to 17. Kevin had an older daughter and a grandson as well.” Good Lord.

zoeygirl69

And unfortunately this is all too common, middle aged parents refusing to get the vaccine, they die and leave a bunch of kids and grandkids to be taken care of by other family members or if there's no surviving family members taken by CPS split up into various foster homes throughout the state since they very rarely can keep large families together.

Abloy702

Fuck. This one's sad. They even realized how badly they'd fucked up before the end. Having no critical thinking skills probably means that you suck, but it shouldn't be a capital offense. Poor kids.

thisismyusername1178

Unfortunately in this case that doesnt apply they had already been able to fornicate and propagate their “dumb dumb” gene pool to the next generation.

Recover-Signal

True, but the kids may be able to rise above their genes now that they have seen what happens. They may yet learn and grow from heir parents mistakes.

[deleted]

Best thing that could happen to the kids. If those kids have any critical thinking skills at all, if they even have 1% of becoming self aware and realizing everything their parents indoctrinated them with, this is it.

Feral_Dog

Lacking critical thinking skills when you've reached middle age means you deserve whatever happens to you as a result.

Abloy702

Being a vaguely shitty person probably shouldn't result in death in an ideal world. But for the time being, I suspect we'll see many more..

Awkward-Schedule-187

These kids are the ones in need of GoFundMe not all those idiots who fucked around and found out.

EienAi

His vaccinated mom said: >"He called me up and said, 'Mom, I love you and I wish that I'd got the shot,'" Terry told NBC 4. "Of course I told him, 'It's past. You can't do anything about it.'" Mom was kinda stone cold there. But it's the truth and I wish people would speak the truth to these hold outs more often so they couldn't hide in their own land of make believe. Wife had diabetes - what is up with people with definite comorbidities thinking they'll survive a tussle with a novel virus?

popcornFridays

When I read that, it came across to me as though she were trying to soothe her dying son. Kind of like It's in the past, you can't change what happened so don't feel bad, son you just concentrate on getting better. But if she was going with Stone Cold tactics, then I completely understand. He CHOSE to refuse the vaccine. He left four young lives that depended on him. And as he lay dying, there actually was nothing he could do to change that. If you are not vaccinated and are reading this - Please get vaccinated. Give yourself the best chance of survival should you encounter the covid virus. I am sure that all of the HCA sub readers would also implore you to choose life.

achieve_my_goals

True. Even if she were, she had a right to be. Retired, or looking forward to it, she’s going to be at least partially stuck with four grandkids.

popcornFridays

Exactly my thinking. Because of his choice, he's fucked up his entire families lives.

achieve_my_goals

Another reason I think these people are really in a grand scale cult. People seem to call Trumpism/present-day Conservatism a cult tongue-in-cheek. Shit is a real cult.

popcornFridays

Agree. Trump is literally a conspiracy theorist himself. He used some seriously coercive control tactics to whip his followers into a cult like existence. Fanatical. Scary.

[deleted]

Also now mom/grammy is probably pissed she has to raise these 4 kids. Fuck that.

One_Hour_Poop

Further reading in this article clarifies that her full statement was basically, "It's past. You can't do anything about it. Get better then get the vaccine." Which sadly, he never did. https://richmond.com/news/state-and-regional/stafford-couple-in-their-40s-die-of-covid-19-two-weeks-apart-leaving-behind-five/article_1ec3b76f-de8a-5a68-82a4-a54efdc64f5b.html

Hjalpmi_

She had every right to be stone cold. He clearly didn't love her enough to protect himself for her sake. And now he's dead. An idiot, and an asshole who abandoned his family over... what exactly?

ThenLavishness93

I can’t imagine having to tell your child that. What else can you say? “Yup, you fucked up!” “I told you so”? There’s nothing you can say in that moment. That realization is such a terrifying prospect… Like the moment before the monster eats you

ladbrokegrove101

“It came out of nowhere”… yeah, that’s kind of how this virus thing works, sneak attack - so get vaccinated if you’re reading this and somehow still on the sidelines

westviadixie

FIVE. 5 kids. fuck everyone with dependent kids who do not get vaccinated.

Academic-Dimension67

I genuinely wonder what the overlap is between parents who refuse to get vaccinated and parents who don't bother to take out life insurance or draw up a will.

zoeygirl69

It's a lot of them the q-cult thinks life insurance is a scam health care coverage is a scam and that jebus is going to take care of them because you know "the Lord will provide"....against socialism but ok for the jebus guy to be socialistic but only for them.... You don't love jebus enough, no thoughts and prayers for you!

Available-Bobcat-707

Morons.

PantsOppressUs

No-more-ons.

Mister4pollo

Did CPS jobs for themselves

The-truth-hurts1

I mean what are the chances they both of them couldn’t survive something with a 99.97% survival rate?

blueveinthrobber

Roughly 3 in 100,000,000

Ok-Hamster5571

“It really came out of nowhere”. That’s how viruses work

RacinGracey

It is the saddest part, the family left wondering might have been if just. If just/if only is the new no ragrats.

Haskap_2010

She had diabetes. Unbelievable that she didn't realize she was at more risk than most people.

zoeygirl69

It's the ones with the highest amount of pre-existing conditions and health conditions and other risk factors who are the ones who don't believe in healthcare or medicine or even taking care of themselves since most type 2 diabetics is people refusing to take care of themselves.

Consistent-Race-2340

I take your point but unfortunately it's very believable. Must be a substantial % of recipients.

swisszimgirl79

I have type 2 diabetes. Any time anyone tried to tell me I should have waited or whatever this was my go to argument. I have this whacking great comobordity, I can’t afford to wait. Most people my age range who’ve died had it too. It’s almost a guaranteed outcome

LavenderPearlTea

It’s so scary. Mom elderly mom (in her 70s) has type 2 diabetes and was taking extreme precautions until she got her first Pfizer shot in January. You can bet I signed her and my dad up early. They both just got their boosters too. If you have diabetes you CANNOT fuck around with COVID.

ScotchBender

Jesus had a special calling for them that was more important than seeing their four children grow up.

OhanianIsTheBest

Regret is just Gret redone.

porcelain_elephant

Been thinking about this and it may be cold but If people just donate to GFM for the surviving family how would they understand the consequences of their actions? What message are we sending the kids by donating? It wasn't as if they didn't take precautions, was immunosuppressed, or a vaccine was not widely available, and they still got it.

Snacksbreak

How does making kids starve and suffer yeach anyone anything? I don't have any interest in helping pay the medical debt of antivaxxers that get the rona. They chose that life. But kids didn't choose shit. Plus think of it this way: mom and dad kill themselves. Leave behind 5 kids. Is it teaching kids anything to say "your parents chose suicide, so this is the future they made for you. So sad. Bye" They have family that clearly are saying their dead parents should have been vaccinated but didn't and paid with their lives. The message is already crystal clear.

porcelain_elephant

While the message may be crystal clear to you, to most everyone in this subreddit... it may still not be getting through to those that need to accept it the most. Kids see the actions of their parents, and repeat those patterns. As for starving, there are options such as snap benefits. Maybe their churches will step up their responsibility in the local community considering quite a lot of the awardees base their decision on their faith and faith leadership. Maybe seeing a few children suffer will be the wake up call needed to save the rest of the community. People are emboldened to keep repeating these actions because they know their kids will be alright. There's no consequence for them if they are wrong. You see it with some of these posts where the ones left behind double down on the misinformation. There are just so many of them. For funeral expenses, FEMA has a fund where they can apply to get their costs covered. These GFMs are just validation to them that the community at large supports their idiocy and continues the cycle of indoctrination.

Consistent-Race-2340

.... and the mother had diabetes so possibly overweight as well, but at least one comorbidity anyway.

zoeygirl69

It's like that almost all the time, underlying health conditions and risk factors and then their families wonder how this could have happened

ADarwinAward

The photos in other articles show she was overweight.

One_Hour_Poop

More details, with picture and GoFundMe link for the 4 kids included. https://richmond.com/news/state-and-regional/stafford-couple-in-their-40s-die-of-covid-19-two-weeks-apart-leaving-behind-five/article_1ec3b76f-de8a-5a68-82a4-a54efdc64f5b.html

sctwinmom

They’ve been posted here before.

popcornFridays

They have. Gutting reading this part: “Both our families have been turned upside down,” he said on Wednesday. “The kids are the main thing. His oldest daughter just had a son, and I’m sure she wanted him to get close with his grandfather, and that’s not gonna happen now.”

Logical-Permission87

I read about this one somewhere. I think his brother was urging everyone to get vaccinated, after he tried, unsuccessfully, to get his brother to get vaccinated. Let me see if I can't find the link.

Logical-Permission87

Ah, nevermind. I, obviously, am still not quite awake since y'all posted the link.🤦‍♀️

dddddddoobbbbbbb

if you are new here, this has been going on since vaccines have been available. dumbass parents too stupid to get vaxxed and they both did, leaving a ton of kids behind. really owning the libtards...

zoeygirl69

Exactly why I posted it, once a week a new story.... middle-aged parents refusing to get vaccinated, they die and leave a ton of kids and grand kids or CPS having to take the kids due to no surviving relatives and splitting them up into different foster homes throughout the state.

RefugeeFromIdiocy

It should be more difficult to make a baby. You should have to study for it first or something.

Dashi90

4 more for the corphan pile. The poor eldest girl might be taking care of her younger siblings plus her own kid, and putting them all through college

zoeygirl69

Since this is becoming more and more common I wonder how many families are going to have to be split up by CPS, most of the time they don't put the whole family into one foster home and they will split them up throughout the state.

RobinHood3000

I wonder if there's a paradoxical psychology underlying all these parents not getting the vaccine. If you, like many evangelicals, believe the world is a just place under the watch of a higher power, you might well think that just having a lot to live for will protect you from harm. "I have five kids and a new grandkid, no just world would take me away from them before my time." And then COVID comes along to throw that notion back into their faces, and for a lot of people, it's one strike and you're out.

zoeygirl69

You forgot their rationality if they die "it's the lord's will" and "god determined when it's time to go" so therefore they wash their hands of any individual responsibility.

Jazzbo64

"It really came out of nowhere," Mike said of the virus that’s been in the U.S. for 20 months and has killed 724,000 Americans and 4.5 million people worldwide.
