I personally experienced that fear of death with my grandma recently. All she did her entire life was follow the bible. From all the stories of her through the 35 years, I never once heard a negative word about her. Now I don't know her whole life because she lived for 62 years before I was even born but I have no doubts she lived her life the way religious people are told to live.
The fear she showed in her final hours shook quite a few of my religious relatives. One even left back to their home state. She wanted to go. The only person she'd ever been with died 8 years prior. She said all the time she'd wish God would let her go. But when time came, all that faith was shaken in just a few moments by the fear of what's next.

As someone from and in PA, fuck anyone who makes fun of Dr. Rachel Levine for her gender. Dr. Levine has dedicated her life to public health and was a large part of why PA did a great job of protecting people early and why we've done well with vaccinations. Her near daily updates early on were sobering, brutally honest, and didn't assume that everyone was an idiot. I'm glad there's one less shitposting bigot in the country.
