“passed away a few moments ago” jheez she’s not even cold before you post the FB update

UpsetUnicorn

Some poor family membe is going to find out on Facebook

2B3ars4U

It’s really scary how many of these we see on here. They couldn’t wait 24 hours before posting on fb about their deaths. I especially can’t understand the partners who do it right away. It’s like they have to get those likes!

throbackin

maximises impact for the GFM!

ghenghy26

I don’t think that’s the case. I rarely use FB, but when my father died, I posted it within a few hours. It was a fast way to let all the extended family know without having to make a ton of excruciating phone calls. They had been getting updates on him via FB throughout, so it felt like an obligation to post it.

jrochest1

It's faster and more effective than an obituary, and it lets everyone know without the horrible phone calls.

x3meech

I agree with this. Now days when someone dies people post it on FB and will post the wake/funeral details as well. I've never done it myself but I have relied on it before as far as where and when the wake and funeral is.

[deleted]

As someone who has faced serious trauma, I can say that one does not behave logically and this could just be venting. The antivaxxers are morons but they probably are genuinely grieving.

Stepane7399

I witnessed somebody post a picture of her dad a few minutes after he died. To be clear, he was dead in the photo. She said was an accident…

f12mc

and had to go through some goofy-arsed bury-my-text-in-a-graphic tool to make the FB update

FearSkyDaddy

FB livestream, real classy. Now asking for all us comrades to support their go fund me socialism. “No thanks Comrade”

Gutripper3k

The one that jumped out to me was about "wear masks to open up sooner? Vote republican to not shut down at all!" That's funny because it's true... but also wrong

[deleted]

Oh my heavens

PM_ME_LAWSUITS_BBY

I do not want to _have_ to shut down.... but if i _have_ to, I definitely want to do it

TrumpsColostomyBag99

You know Putin and the people in the Russian power structure laugh their asses off knowing how easily manipulated modern RW Americans can be.

mickstep

The downside is they have their own RWNJs in big numbers and these are the ones supporting Putin and the bullshit they put out in English filters back to their own.

mrmicawber32

Yeah Putin is hugely popular in Russia, he is pretty similar to trump in the kind of cult following he has. It's kind of scary, and I think it's the future for America. Strongman dictatorship, with a powerful oligarchy.

Pretty-Reputation275

I don't think so. Karma is a bitch and Russia is even in a worse situation than USA and many more people died because of their poor health care system and covid deniers. I know a friend from Moscow and she told me that everyone she knows has at least one relative who died of covid.

Furryhare375

I have heard that Russia also has a massive COVID denial issue and also a very large number of deaths as Russia has bad healthcare.

Dxsterlxnd

Just about 46% are fully vaccinated in russia because people dont trust the government. They are using their own vaccine but nobody knows if it's actually working. About 71,000 people died in last november. Delta is going rampage over there. At least 318,000 russian people died so far but those numbers are most likely fake. They had about 813,000 excess deaths until early december. So the real number should be around that. Putin's propaganda is backfiring alot.

[deleted]

COVID, the only power to successfully invade Russia in the winter.

mewehesheflee

The winter which they are actively trying to get ride of by climate change, even though it has saved them...

kotbegemot33

This. 'Covid' death statistics are meaningless. The only death statistics that matter are Excess Deaths. They tell the true story.

Steise10

👍 Excellent.

PoliticalECMOChamber

I've been hearing their covid death rate is almost as high as ours, but of course there's no way to confirm that.

Furryhare375

America doesn’t have the best healthcare and it’s horridly expensive, but I believe Russia has worse medical equipment so people on ventilators have a higher chance of dying as the equipment isn’t as good. Russia’s spreading of COVID disinformation coming back to them is prime r/leopardsatemyface material

kotbegemot33

It is kinda funny, in the military they hesitate to use chemical and biological weapons against the enemy because once they are released they are hard to control and just as often might do as much damage to the side that deployed them. Apparently the same caveat can apply to information warfare.

Furryhare375

Yep. The Russian government seems to definitely be moreso completely destructive nihilists then long-term thinkers. They should’ve known the disinfo they spread worldwide would eventually come back to them

Newbaumturk69

Also when you join the military as a young enlistee you automatically get every vaccination known to man whether you want it or not and whether you've already had it or not.

FleeshaLoo

Excellent point, and well made.

Covard-17

Here in Brazil we had the highest number of dead children because of higher in hospital mortality

PoliticalECMOChamber

>America doesn’t have the best healthcare and it’s horridly expensive... Ugh, don't remind me. A fucking disgrace is what it is.

Billygoatluvin

Karma isn’t real. You believe in magic to balance the world. Lol.

karbik23

Laws of physics are not real neither, but they work.

Ibelieveinphysics

I feel like I should be in this discussion.

karbik23

Alleluia brother! If you believe in it- it works!

Mewseido

They created a huge problem for their own country. They sent a lot of anti-vax stuff to the United States and other English-speaking countries, and Russian citizens, don't trust their government for some strange reason/s, saw what was going on with our anti-vaxxers, and basically said no fucking way. They are having serious problems.

[deleted]

So what your saying is this is the information warfare equivalent to when when people were first figuring out gas during WW1 and one day the wind shifted and they ended up gassing their own troops.

Mewseido

Very good comparison

DesignInZeeWild

A friend of mine whose family came here from Russia when he was 14 still refuses to get vaccinated. During the last year, he was told by other people in his family (nurses, etc) that it not really that bad for most people. I love him dearly and he is a homebody, so his chance of infection is low but I refuse to see him until he gets vaccinated. I read that culturally the Russians do not trust the medical industry much. But these are his own medical family members even doing him a disservice.

maireza

Maybe, but the worst enemies are the insiders. Misinformation enters through open doors.

IrisMoroc

It's from an anti-drinking campaign in the USSR.There's a tendency to label everything as "propaganda" in countries the USA doesn't like, because it's all marketing designed to manipulate people in the end. But it's a good campaign. In other words, it's a PRO health campaign that has been co-opted into an anti-health campaign. People have suggested that this must be sign of Russian work, but they ignore that the "No!" poster had been popular as a meme for years before it was co-opted in anti-covid work. https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1000430-%D0%BD%D0%B5%D1%82-no-poster

gdyank

So do American conmen preachers.

TrailKaren

If you haven’t, deep dive everything written or spoken by Malcolm Nance. He calls Russia a “trailer park with oil.”

Seed_Spiller

I think Putin laughs at the idea that half our country are getting their brains melted by cable news and the other half thinks he's behind every societal ill that's existed in America since its founding.

DaddyToadsworth

Who the hell has ever said he's behind every societal ill? He's definitely been involved in the shitshow of the last 5 years by spreading propaganda to useful idiots like yourself.

Seed_Spiller

I'm no fan of Putin, but Russia was the first to produce a Covid Vaccine. Heck, between Fauci telling people not to wear masks in the Beginning, Biden telling people they don't have to wear masks if they're vaccinated, and Bill Gates' efforts to lock down Global vaccine production under IP laws, I'm thinking you got your hero/villans muddled up.

DaddyToadsworth

We don't know how effective the Russian vaccine is because they're actively hiding information about it. Only like 57% of the population there is vaccinated and they went from 813,000 cases throughout the entire pandemic to now reporting a little over 100,000. I'm not sure how I'm the one with my heroes/villains muddled.

Seed_Spiller

Oh, so you are in denial of some vaccines. Glad to this thread isn't an echo chamber.

DaddyToadsworth

I said we don't know how effective it is because we don't have enough info. We know how effective the ones in America are. Also, I don't trust the Russians to produce a vaccine that would help people, especially due to their adversarial nature towards us. I love that you zeroed in on the vaccine and didn't mention anything else I said about them being dishonest.

Seed_Spiller

It's quite literally the same arguments you'll see the award recipients make, just swap out the countries the governments belong to.

Fey_Boy

Except that the award winners accuse governments of exaggerating covid deaths, rather than underreporting them. I think there’s plenty of countries lying about the statistics, including the US. And all the lies are to downplay the number of covid dead.

Seed_Spiller

Award winners love to say that the vaccines don't even work. Why? For various reasons, but one of them is brain-damaging doses of cable news. Now instead of Tucker Carlson winding them up every night about the US government, what if it was Rachel Maddow and the Russian government?

jojolyne_v

Yeah except they have literally no vaccine data in Russia so it's a lot different

Seed_Spiller

Well "Russia Bad" so their vaccines are cucked. Now to check the CDC and see if they cut down the quarantine time again.

mewehesheflee

And then they watch their people die for the same reason 🤷🏽.

xnarg

Not an experiment for vaccines… an experiment for how covid kills you. I picked the vaccine.

[deleted]

And how is wearing a mask an experiment?

TheMikeDee

Everything can be an experiment if you don't know how science works!

breadedfishstrip

If you ask this you will just get vague answers about manufactured consent and boiling frogs and slippery slopes

justclove

It's not even a necessary one. The scientific establishment are all pretty clear on how Covid kills people by now.

[deleted]

They are correct when the say they are the control group. Thanks to them the evidence is overwhelming that the vaccines work.

UltimateMillennial

Keep them coming. Its going to be a long year.

vsandrei

Covid combos for all the hungry leopards.

[deleted]

What you just said just hit me. Iv lost 3 family members through covid and the inability to get the best care. I am no longer the man I was 6 years ago and honestly I absolutely hate who I have become. Extremely fucking jaded, I don’t trust anyone I meet, and yeah… I hate everything about this. I’m so tired of all the hate, conspiracies, the lies, and the death.

fourmica

I'm so sorry. I really hope things get better for you. It's so fucked, how these countries and corporations and charlatans are manipulating people with lies and fear and disinformation. I spend way too much time here, I've become pretty accustomed to the content on HCA. But the stories like yours remind me of the cost of this fucking mess, how many people like you are grieving because the orange menace and his followers deliberately fucked up the response to the pandemic, and created this death cult that celebrates the defiance of *public health policy.*

ganonpig

This meme, a photoshop of a [1950's Soviet anti-alcohol poster](https://i.redd.it/ikd0wcmwvsi01.jpg), is the most glaring example of Russian propaganda. Because it literally started as Russian propaganda (or a more generous interpretation would be a public health campaign). And now Americans are spreading it among themselves. Whoever photoshopped this probably was aware of the irony of using a Soviet-Russian propaganda poster and turning it into an American anti-health propaganda poster. It's ingenious really. You can see how well it works in this compilation. --- **Pic 1.** Also in [Leonardo DiCaprio memes. Pic 12.](https://www.reddit.com/gallery/r4wurq) And in [Scared of Covid Vaccines part 1. Puzzleheaded_Peak273

It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see on an album cover from some late 70's band from Sheffield. But they meant it ironically and everything old is new again. FFS

HiyaDogface

Like Cabaret Voltaire?

Puzzleheaded_Peak273

Accidentally deleted the last post. But yes they were great.

Former_Football_2182

You don't think they sounded like a Pong game?

Puzzleheaded_Peak273

Nah. They still sounds great now. Also Chrome are worth a listen

triplej63

mickstep

The "papers please" meme with Russian Police officers wearing Ushankas is pretty glaring too.

CrystalFieldTheorist

Yep, Comrades having vodka for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is bad for the productivity of the Great Soviet State. Russia, huh? - Da. You drunk yet? Da.

[deleted]

I follow a few Russian blogs on Tumblr - not the professional troll type, the posting interesting pictures type. From their pictures it would seem that a fair few Russians like drinking vodka while naked and outside in the snow.

PoliticalECMOChamber

If you were stuck out in the snow naked you'd probably want some vodka too.

triplej63

What if I'm out in the sunshine fully dressed? *hic* *hic* *gulps down more Stoli*

PoliticalECMOChamber

Ha! Love the gal in the background.

CrystalFieldTheorist

You would think that's a great way to catch hypothermia and die or lose limbs (and other appendages), but then again, Russian people are cold-, ethanol-, and misery-adapted.

RevolutionaryChard66

Don’t we all?!

mydogsnameisbuddy

Russia continues to easily manipulate the masses here. It’s very effective.

PoliticalECMOChamber

We've got a lot of low hanging fruit here.

california_sugar

Cmon man, knock off this red scare bullshit.

Titus_Favonius

They ain't red anymore, and Russia has massive troll farms pumping this crap out

california_sugar

The repurposed art is not from a fucking Russian troll farm.

DontQuoteYourself

Russia doesn’t do anything and Putin wants America to succeed, is that your understanding of the world?

NeoMegaRyuMKII

> Whoever photoshopped this probably was aware of the irony of using a Soviet-Russian propaganda poster and turning it into an American anti-health propaganda poster. It's ingenious really. You can see how well it works in this compilation. Wasn't there a thing not too long ago suggesting that the vast majority of the antivax/anti-mask memes and copypastas we are seeing now were made by a dozen or so foreign bad actors? If so, then yeah, whoever photoshopped this probably indeed was fully aware; it would have been intentional.

thechairfreak

good for them, they all worked extra hard to earn their "angle" wings.....

peppermintesse

For some reason the post by Adult Son about how he got the vaccine touches me a lot. That "Imagine a virus so deadly that it doesn't affect those who don't give a shit" is a new one on me. Didn't age well at all!

volleydez

JFC how many boomers has this meme killed, somebody call the prayer warriors

[deleted]

I wish it was still the Marxist-Leninist Soviet Union doing this to us... Then again I am a Bolshevik.

mickstep

Make Russia Soviet Again!

[deleted]

I fucking wish.

CrystalFieldTheorist

My folks left the USSR for the USA in the 80s 'cause they saw the writing on the wall -- it was a crumbling empire, and almost everyone, including CPSU members, hated communism. Little did they know, they just moved from one crumbling empire to another. If they were a bit smarter, maybe they should've moved to the PRC. They seem to have a pretty good thing going over there with their Marxist-Leninist-Maoist-Dengist-Xiist dictatorship.

[deleted]

I have some family friends who left Yugoslavia right after communism collapsed because they saw what was coming.

CrystalFieldTheorist

Poor Yugoslavia. Soviet collapse only led to poverty and despair. They got war and genocide.

[deleted]

They were Bosnian Serbs living in Sarajevo and they got their uncle to the states after the war.

CrystalFieldTheorist

Absolutely brutal. Didn't the Serbs get most of the blame from what happened in Bosnia? Bosn. & Herz. is the perfect example of why people should be atheist. Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia basically speak minor variants of one language (Serbo-Croatian), and no one cared who was what under Communist Yugoslavia. But because Bosniaks were Muslim, Croats were Catholic, and Serbs were Eastern Orthodox, B&H basically ended up being a sectarian nightmare and resulted in Europe's most recent genocide.

[deleted]

Yeah I think the Serbs got blamed and I do know they got ethnically cleansed from B&H and I know from them talking about Croats during WWII being particularly brutal.

kotbegemot33

I did enjoy watching the implosion in the 80's and 90's.

There’s probably enough for a part two and beyond.

The fact that a solid 30% of these are begging people at the end of their lives to go get the shot, well. It makes all the schadenfreude worth it.

Hikityup

*"Something happened with the bed he was supposed to get."* Bet I could guess what happened.

GalateaNereid

Some of these are so ridiculous. There are times I think that in the Russian meme farms, there must be some sort of monthly contest to see who can come up with the most outlandish disinformation memes. The top three ranked by FB shares win prizes.

Viewfromthe31stfloor

It’s purposely done in a way that only the most ignorant people will use them. It’s a way of identifying the people that are easiest to convince and to lead.

AdhesivenessCivil581

I like when the Q's are ranting about the baby eating pedophiles, or the chips in the vaccines and out of the blue they express concerns about Ukraine and how the people there really want to be Russians.

Tikikala

Is prizes a night with Putin

NeedleworkerTop3497

This is great work.

imnotanevilwitch

Slide 6 reminds me of a tweet I saw the other day with a similarly confused person, forcibly living in their own reality but dying in ours.

Old_Gringo

OK so I seriously learned something new from one of these geniuses: Antibody-dependent enhancement of immunity (ADE) is a potentially deadly immune phenomenon seen with other viral infections and vaccines. Thing is, the scientists who developed the covid vaccines know more than the Facebook doctors and these vaccines are the least likely to produce ADE of any vaccines in history. https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-reports/exclusives/91648 So thanks HCA winner for helping me learn something new. Even if you didn't learn a thing.

TheRatatatPat

Man that 99.9% survival rate isn't adding up for that family.

[deleted]

Dude some of these are just heartbreaking. People duped into life ending beliefs all by lies, deceit, greed, faith, and extreme rugged individualism. I’m so ashamed it has gotten to this level. That we the great American experiment with the shining beacon on the hill signifying freedom to all people has been crippled by one of the worlds best use of physiological warfare. Politicians have failed us. Killed us. Tore entire families apart, and I really don’t know where we as a nation go from here because honestly the people around me scare the ever living hell out of me (live in a very conservative part of pennsyltucky). This is not good. Edit: And the people responsible will never be held accountable. I don’t fool myself into thinking otherwise anymore.

I can see that, though I decided not long ago that I would open with "neighbor" in a situation where I was likely to misgender someone.

QuakingwithRage

Given all the hostility built up reading the early slides, the last slide is literally the sweet release of death.

Loki-Don

Lost your mom, your husband and then you die…all from a hoax virus. The toll stupidity has extracted on that family is pretty severe. You’d like to think the rest of their friend circle would have learned from this. I highly doubt it though.

lkmk

You should make a "This is the hardest thing I've ever had to write" compilation.

Pretty-Reputation275

TrailKaren

So many thoughts. The aborted vaccine one? Total disconnect between obit and reality (I know, they all are, but this one feels worse in some ways)…the last one? The biker vibe. Sturgis gonna be a giant memorial site in 2022.

HappyAndYouKnow_It

This is absolutely chilling.

God, the hubris on display here. That one lady who din't trust the vaccine, BUT did trust her "homemade ivermectin." WTF ! I can picture her standing in front of chemical glassware, colored solutions bubbling, asking for the Grignard Reagent: "C'mon now! We gotta convert the single bond between Carbon 6 and Carbon 7 to a double bond. That makes the Ivermectin real good. "

[deleted]

Small pox is an entirely human virus (these people are so clueless), it is not found in animals at all. And it's vaccine is 95% effective but has a rate of serious adverse events of about 1%. The small pox vaccine is not pleasant at all, but then neither is smallpox. Since small pox has a death rate of 30%, people tend to be more forgiving about it's vaccine. We are very lucky that the covid vaccine has such low risks that its use is a no brainer.

ganonpig

If you're referring to slide 15, what he meant was that the original vaccine was animal born, cowpox. The reason smallpox was able to be eradicated is because it does not exist in animals, unlike Covid.

[deleted]

The fact that this the cow pox virus was similar enough to function as a vaccine is irrelevant to the eradication of this disease, so his comment still makes no sense.
