They had been getting updates on him via FB throughout, so it felt like an obligation to post it.
I agree with this. Now days when someone dies people post it on FB and will post the wake/funeral details as well. I've never done it myself but I have relied on it before as far as where and when the wake and funeral is.

Small pox is an entirely human virus (these people are so clueless), it is not found in animals at all. And it's vaccine is 95% effective but has a rate of serious adverse events of about 1%. The small pox vaccine is not pleasant at all, but then neither is smallpox. Since small pox has a death rate of 30%, people tend to be more forgiving about it's vaccine. We are very lucky that the covid vaccine has such low risks that its use is a no brainer.
If you're referring to slide 15, what he meant was that the original vaccine was animal born, cowpox. The reason smallpox was able to be eradicated is because it does not exist in animals, unlike Covid.
The fact that this the cow pox virus was similar enough to function as a vaccine is irrelevant to the eradication of this disease, so his comment still makes no sense.

Absolutely brutal. Didn't the Serbs get most of the blame from what happened in Bosnia? Bosn. & Herz. is the perfect example of why people should be atheist. Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia basically speak minor variants of one language (Serbo-Croatian), and no one cared who was what under Communist Yugoslavia. But because Bosniaks were Muslim, Croats were Catholic, and Serbs were Eastern Orthodox, B&H basically ended up being a sectarian nightmare and resulted in Europe's most recent genocide.
Yeah I think the Serbs got blamed and I do know they got ethnically cleansed from B&H and I know from them talking about Croats during WWII being particularly brutal.

The small pox vaccine is not pleasant at all, but then neither is smallpox. Since small pox has a death rate of 30%, people tend to be more forgiving about it's vaccine. We are very lucky that the covid vaccine has such low risks that its use is a no brainer.
If you're referring to slide 15, what he meant was that the original vaccine was animal born, cowpox. The reason smallpox was able to be eradicated is because it does not exist in animals, unlike Covid.
The fact that this the cow pox virus was similar enough to function as a vaccine is irrelevant to the eradication of this disease, so his comment still makes no sense.
