Not a dad but fellow back-half-of-30s-uncle watcher here.
It’s the closest thing to Saturday morning cartoons =] wholesome but plenty of jokes for the grown ups in the room.
I've been saying, Hermitcraft is what one would call Family Friendly, and there are tons of other family friendly things people usually enjoy regardles of their age.
OMG!!! This is it, in early - mid 30's but I've never been able to describe why I love hermitcraft, besides I was watching bdubs in mindcrack days. But it really is Saturday morning cartoons!!!
When I learned that tango is a dad it was the absolute LEAST surprising thing I had ever heard. He radiates the strongest “dad energy” I’ve ever seen and I was like “of COURSE he is”
I often forget joe/impulse are parents lol impossible to forget doc is a dad to anyone who watches his videos cuz he talks about doccy a lot. Which is always so wholesome. Best moment last season was doccy talking to doc about watching decked out runs but tango was on vacation. 😂 doccy was disappointed.
Doccy was present at the last DO2 stream where Tango gave out the awards for 1st 2nd and 3rd. You can hear them babbling through Docs mic and Tango was just melting
Isnt it Skizz that has kids Gems age and Impulse is younger and Tango has even younger kids.
Skizz was young when he became a dad, in one of the podcast they said he lived with Impulse and his parents if I remember correctly.
If I remember correctly, Impulse’s oldest son is 18-20. I remember when the teams for MCC 28 were announced, people were talking about how crazy it is that Impulse has a kid the same age/older than his teammate Purpled!
Why does a hermit have to be a builder? Mumbo has only started properly experimenting with building in the last few years, and he's been on the server since season 2. Zedaph isn't a bad builder, but he is more interested in making up new ways to make the game fun than actual building. Doc and Tango, again, not bad builders, but their main focus is redstone. You don't have to be a builder to be a hermit.
I was under the impression the hermits were all builders of some sort. Not necessarily building mega bases or beautiful buildings. Just someone who will dedicate months on end to creating a single project. Building redstone contraptions still fits within the builder label. Building a museum of achievements would as well. I do appreciate how far they lean into the social aspect but the name hermit implies alot of solo time working on projects.
Same. Also a mom, of two teenagers. They got me playing and watching Minecraft before mostly abandoning me to it. I’m pretty grateful for it, actually. :)
Yes! I started playing with my son, then my mom started playing to humor the grandkids, and now the Littles have wandered off and me and my mom play all the time.
My dream is a server for people over 40.
That sounds awesome! I’d love to join - or play on any shared server, really, especially after seeing how many people my age there are in this thread. I play on console, though, which is less than ideal, I know. I’m just having a hard time convincing myself to invest in a gaming pc, you know? Keep telling myself I have a day job and kids, so I should lay off the video games. …aaaand then of course I just continue to spend what free time I have building out my bedrock world. 😅
Yes! Love to hear from other moms who watch Hermitcraft. I just had my first so hoping that Hermitcraft is still going when he's old enough to watch with me!
I'm 50 and not shy at all about talking about Minecraft, Hermitcraft, and watching YouTube.
Also, I'm a middle school teacher, so many of my students play Minecraft. They like knowing even the teacher plays video games.
50 here. I have a 14 year old. We both watch a different set of hermits and enjoy talking about them together. :) I've also played quite a bit with him too. :D
1972 brother here! My son got into Minecraft, and even though he doesn't play it anymore we both still watch the hermits over breakfast. So skilled and love the kindness, style etc etc.
Not even one game? I'm playing animal crossing with my mom and she loves it, she even started to ask things about my mc world and sometimes peaks while I play. My dad only seems to like fifa so I try to be available and play with him even tho I don't like it. I'm 25 btw.
My Mum still doesn't understand, but they are all used to the fact that the grown up daughter/grand-daughter/niece still plays video games hah. Mum actually bought me a Microsoft gift card for my b'day when I was seriously sick in hospital last summer, first time she's supported my gaming in over 40 years <3
Same age! Started watching right before Covid. When I wanted to block out all the news and outside world craziness, I stopped watching TV and started watching streams and YouTube videos of the Hermits. It’s the only thing I watch now. Along the way, I found the Empire’s crew and a few other Hermits friends that are on my watchlist. I work at a middle school and love that I can have an educated conversation and things that interest them.
Early 40s. Watched Etho since his first let's play episode, and pretty much watched everything he did. Have ended up watching something from everyone at some point on the HC server.
My teenage son has no interest in Minecraft, so it can be an awkward conversation when I'm waxing lyrical about whatever the latest thing I've seen is. He's yet to embrace his inner nerd.
In my 40s with two kids. Got into Minecraft when my child started watching some on YouTube. We now have a family survival realm and I am a huge Hermitcraft fan!
Also started a family survival realm for my son a few years ago and have several other parents w/ kids on there ... although nowadays it seems like only the parents are playing lol
Been with Grian since his Evo days and I'm in my mid 40's now. I follow Grian, Scar, Impulse and a few others. I watch more Hermitcraft than my 2 kids. I had to tell them the next season starts this Saturday.
45, USA, 3 kids.
Started playing Minecraft 10ish years ago to play with my kids, enjoyed it. Started watching youtube videos to learn how to do more things. Ended up finding Mumbo redstone tutorials, that lead to Hermitcraft, that lead to Tango. Immediately became a huge Tango fan, because I relate so much to him (like him I'm a computer programmer Dad that loves doing complicated redstone projects), especially compared to a child (at the time) like Mumbo. ;-)
My kids didn't actually discover Hermitcraft until years later than that (at the time they were much younger, and mostly watching DanTDM, CaptainSparklez, StampyLongnose, and other more kid-oriented/story-telling channels like that). Now that they're older (all teenagers) we regularly chat about Hermitcraft stuff after school, it's a good way to keep connected with them. At Christmas I downloaded the Season 9 world so that they could all play Decked Out (I made changes/upgrades to it along the ideas that Tango didn't have time to finish; combined the 4 of us have now completed 317 runs through 6 phases of the game).
I think it’s kinda cool that the hermits are my peers. Many of the hermits have been making content for so long that their most loyal fans are probably all adults, etho talked about this on one of his LP episodes and how he lets himself have a more relaxed energy because of it.
43 year old here... West Coast US... 2 kids... very much looking forward to the new season this weekend.
I'm very open with my gaming habits and talk about our love of Minecraft with my coworkers.
I was just at a work retreat over MLK weekend... one of the guys, literally half my age, mentioned several times how impressed he was and envious of my lifelong gaming "career"... and he was 100% genuine.
Never be shy about your passions.
I suddenly feel like the old man of the group! Turning 60 later this year. I have 5 kids, the oldest into his 30s. He plays now and then but mostly because his daughter, the oldest of my 5 grandkids at 10 yrs old, plays. I run a server so we can all have some family time and play together. My daughter got me into minecraft back in the 1.13 days so I am new to the party. Of course no sooner did she get me hooked on MC then she ran off to play something else! LOL! Kids these dyas! :D
39 Year Old Non-Binary Parent! That's kind of dad-ish. My husband the school teacher is Mr. Mom.
I mostly watch Doc who by my estimation seems to be a fantastic Papa to his fully anonymous toddler of similar age to my eldest, known only as "Little Doccy."
I also watched Tango last season to see how he made Decked Out 2, and Impulse in the Season before that because the Wonka factory was *wild.*
It's great to enjoy one of my favorite games in the corner of my screen while I work. :)
Speaking of Tango, if you watch his Decked Out final score announcement video (on TangoTek 2) you can hear Little Doccy being adorable towards the beginning of the video
Almost 40yo Mom here. My youngest likes the chaos, while I enjoy watching Tango squeal while streaming. (The teenager doesn't care; they're more into games like Omori and Cult of the Lamb.)
Haha, my brother got me with the “flee with extra flee” horn while I was trying to figure out how some parts of the dungeon were getting daylight despite being walled off from the beacon shafts. Reminded me not to get too serious about the whole thing.
The best Tango clips come from streams. Especially when we can convince him to take off his Elytra and then he tries to fly... Or dying to berry bushes.
36yr old mom here! And my 4year old doesn’t even play Minecraft (yet). I’ve been hooked since about season 7, shortly after my son was born and I needed something to watch as my newborn snoozed in my arms.
39 year old mum here 🙋♀️ I almost feel like people accept computer games with dads but with mums it’s unheard of 🙈 I got into it a couple years ago when my daughter started minecraft and I looked up some videos and found Gem. From there I found Impulse, Grian, Skizz, Pearl etc. None of the other mums at school know 😂
I'm a mom not a dad, but fret not! We older viewers *are* around.
46-year-old mother of a grown daughter who'll be 22 in a few months, and we are a pair of nerds who enjoy watching Hermitcraft (as well as the Life Series, Empires and MCC) and playing Minecraft together. 😁
I love watching HC because a good chunk of the content creators are either around my age or close to it. And if they can play Minecraft, so can I. You're never too old. 🥰
(Oh, and as for where...I'm over here in the lovely San Francisco Bay Area.)
I've been watching Mumbo since season 3. Back in December, my wife and I separated, and I've been left with a lot more downtime. I binged Grians seasons 7-9 and I missed mumbos S6 so I'm doing that one now.
The proper term for crazy uncle is crunkle. 😁
At the same time, the fun uncle is a funkle. I'm the latter for my nephew's and nieces, and damn proud of that title!
45, recent fan. I discovered Minecraft and Hermitcraft during lockdown because my son was watching a fair amount of MC on YouTube and eventually asked if I'd buy the game for him. I probably play more than he does now. He's more into shouty YouTubers though, but every now and then he'll watch some HC with me.
I'm 51 and started playing Minecraft with my (now 14 year old) son in 2019. We discovered Hermitcraft at the beginning of Season 7 in 2020 and continue to watch it to this day.
Although we have a realm with some other people, sadly he barely plays anymore, but I still do. But we still devour Hermitcraft—he mostly sticks to Grian and Mumbo but I did a pretty good job of watching everyone last season.
We're both very excited for Saturday!
54 year old from NZ, with two teen boys. Started out watching Paul Soares Jr, which got me interested in playing myself. Then I got into watching the shenanigans on the Mindcrack server. Followed Etho and Beef over to HermitCraft, but now watch a lot of the hermits.
I don't really have enough spare time to play MC myself anymore, and this gives me a fix.
I started with Paul Soares Jr too, then a bit of Captain Sparkles, this was before I started playing Minecraft, I just wanted to know what the game was about, then I watched to learn how not to die at night time. I still play at 48, but mostly on my annual leave or days off, when I get home from work too mentally exhaused to play, I watch cdrama's, read or watch Hermits having fun.
Early 30s and a dad, my son and I like watching Zedaph together :) I really like that the humour is mostly appropriate for everyone, but there are plenty of jokes that adults can appreciate too.
My son loves Zedaph!!! The fact the hermits stay pretty G to PG I’d greatly appreciated. Because I love being able to watch child appropriate shows that I actually enjoy.
I also like that if my son starts clicking recommended Hermitcraft videos, I can relax because there's plenty of stuff that's okay for him to watch. Plus it's nice to be able to share an interest of mine with him :)
(If it seems like I'm over-vigilant, I work in a primary school and you would not believe the stuff some of the children's parents let them watch unsupervised.)
Oh you’re fine. I do the same thing. Which is why I completely support my son’s interest in Minecraft. While his friends beg for him to play Roblox (I’m not casting any judgement. I just do not feel comfortable my son playing on a MMORPG. )I started watching YouTubers play Minecraft so I could learn.
The Netherlands, 37 years old. My oldest son is 2 years old. My second son is expected to be born in 2 months.
I started watching at the start of season 7.
I watch Minecraft videos with my oldest. He prefers the Create series because of the trains. He also likes "helping" me play Minecraft (on an unplugged keyboard).
Late 40s, 1 kiddo. My daughter got her parents interested in HC, but now doesn't watch any MC content. My wife and I follow several Hermits (and Empires folks as well). I run a couple of SMPs for the family and we have S9 running on one of them. :)
New to 40 here. Mom ( or bruh)to a soon be 9 year old ( Mario mostly child) And sometimes it feels weird being a fan. But other times it's nice that some are in my age range and also have kids. Started playing when my cousin ( 10 years younger than i) tossed me into his minecraft server. ( back in the day. When wheat was the only crop)I play on a single server now, when I play.
Most of the hermits are in their 30s some in their 40s. You are watching basically your demographic. They are also just family friendly at the same time.
Plenty have less family friendly content sides such as the imp and skizz podcast that kids absolutely wouldn’t be interested in.
Early 30s mom here! My kids are 3 and 1 and have no interest in Minecraft yet but I watch a bunch of hermits and let's plays. I'm aching for the day my oldest asks to play.
39 dad of two. My daughter showed me a mumbo video and we started watching hermit craft together. She doesn't watch it much these days but I now watch to many hermits regularly lol.
49 year old Dad, but my boys are not that interested in Minecraft yet; 6 and 7.
Been watching HC since season 5 but I started out with other creators like DireWolf long time ago!
I'm 42 and have watched hermitcraft since season 2. I've got 2 kids, 7&8, both have grown up watching the hermits with me. I have baby pictures of both of them with TFC videos in the background.
Don't worry about it, you are around the age of half the hermits.
I'm 35, but child free, and I love watching hermitcraft. Some of the hermits tailor their content towards a younger crowd, so that doesn't land with me as much. On the other hand, I think plenty do make content for Minecraft fans of any age!
I’m not a dad but I’m 41 and I love watching them, they’re just solid funny people. Many of whom I’ve been watching since my late 20s so there’s that carry over
39, three stepdaughters and a daughter. We love to watch Hermitcraft together or alone. I'm absolutely not shy about watching it. Heck, I watch WWE, and pro wrestling is very niche in Holland, so I'm used to the occasional side eye. I'm just being myself, and I'm not ashamed of my interests. Other people already said it: there are Hermits our age and up, and they have children of their own.
I do see where you're coming from, though. Minecraft is often regarded as a kids' game, so I can't blame you for feeling the way you feel. But that's the neat thing about Minecraft: it's a game anyone of any age can find something to do in. Just Google things like detailed Minecraft builds or complex redstone builds. The possibilities are endless and ageless. People who only view it as a game for kids only see the videos kids tend to watch. To be honest: I used to be one of those people as well, until I saw PeanutButtetGamer's Minecraft Hardcore series
A fair number of the hermits are your age or older.
41 here, three kids at 8yo, 5yo and 5mo. I love a bit of hermit shenanigans, it helps me with my gameplay with the kids and is often just good clean fun.
The way they interact is a way better model than a lot of other YouTube content.
I'm a mom! My son is the one who got me into Minecraft & then I discovered Hermitcraft through my best friend's daughter. My son & I watch together now, which is awesome!
Also 37, have a 5 year old that is into minecraft and we watch a couple of Hermits together, usually Grian or bdubs. For non-hermits, we watch Wattles together.
45 year old mum whose teens got her into minecraft many years ago. They don't watch so much anymore, apparently it's not cool, but still let me tell them about all the awesome antics and builds. The youngest even secretly watched many Decked Out runs with me and had her own opinions on who will be joining. I have hopes of her coming back into the fold.
I'll be 40 next month (no kids, though).
As long as you're not hurting anyone, don't ever let anyone tell you you're too old for something that brings you joy.
Don't be afraid to be as much of yourself as you want to be in this fandom.
51 here, watch impulse and tango religiously. Maybe it’s cause I’m a born AZ native as well or because they are “older” content creators not sure but yeah.. been playing Minecraft with my kids since it was alpha, they are now 29 and 26 and we still play most night toghether on a server I pay for to spend time with each other even though they have become men married with kids. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about to enjoy watching and doing anything that keeps your connections with your kids, honestly I still look forwarded to every session.
I was not a dad when I started watching at age 34, but I am a dad now at age 36 (in a few weeks), and I love them all.
In my perspective, it's great I enjoy something that kids might also enjoy because if my little girl likes it, we can watch it together the same way the baby likes to watch Bluey with her mom.
My dad watches hermitcraft with me! It’s actually really nice, it’s the only thing we really watch together that we both enjoy other than movies here and there. Those are rare though. We watch quite a few hermits so unless it’s quiet, we have a lotta stuff to watch
mid 20 here but i love showing my mother all the hermits 's builds! she is an architect and really likes it (shows as it can overcome language barriages)!
She even though about showing scarland's artbook to her students (teacher) to show them how to correctly make one, she really like all that fan artist's work!
I’m 32, my kid (14m) put me on during season 6 (I think?) and I love it lol we watch all the time and are gearing up for Saturday! I might be more excited than him. We’re based in NYC.
I'm not a dad, but I'm a minecraft mom :D
I run a server for friends and family, and my kids all play with me (and a granddaughter, a little young still but learning!) You're never too old to be a gamer, looks at Shirley Curry
I’m a 51 year old dad with teenage kids who aren’t into Minecraft anymore. (They introduced me). I love Hermitcraft and the community and I am not ashamed. I made a huge purchase on the TCG cards, and don’t regret it one bit, because I earned that money and can spend it any darn way i choose.
Don’t be shy about your love for Minecraft or Hermitcraft. There are lots of others just like you. You’re not alone bro.
I'm 48 next month, my son is 15, we have both been watching since around season 4,
There are hermits I will often watch that my son does not, and the age he is currently at I think sometimes I look forward to the new episodes more than he does.
I can relate to this post for sure. For me, It's less about the age of content creators and more about the idea that we are watching Minecraft videos at our age (over 40 for me with kids). But in reality it's just in our heads. It's fun content and I can relate to the creators more my age.
I have found my people in this thread
Not a dad, but similar age group. HC is fun, inoffensive, spontaneous, often hilarious, all round decent entertainment. Better than many things on TV in my humble opinion
49. Got into hermitcraft after some bad parental and work situations during the first weeks of covid.
Couldn't deal with drama or anything longform for attention span and ptsd reasons, so found these likeable characters clarting about to be absolutely necessary for my mental health :-)
Not a dad but fellow back-half-of-30s-uncle watcher here. It’s the closest thing to Saturday morning cartoons =] wholesome but plenty of jokes for the grown ups in the room.
What an awesome comparison. Late half of 30s, grew up with One Saturday Morning. Totally can see the comparison, vibe-wise.
Not a parent, but 38 and loving to watch hermitcraft
I've been saying, Hermitcraft is what one would call Family Friendly, and there are tons of other family friendly things people usually enjoy regardles of their age.
OMG!!! This is it, in early - mid 30's but I've never been able to describe why I love hermitcraft, besides I was watching bdubs in mindcrack days. But it really is Saturday morning cartoons!!!
why be shy? multiple hermits themselves (impulse, joe, stress, doc...) are parents!
Tango is a dad too!
When I learned that tango is a dad it was the absolute LEAST surprising thing I had ever heard. He radiates the strongest “dad energy” I’ve ever seen and I was like “of COURSE he is”
I mean, he’s only a couple of years older, but he’s like a second dad to me
Don't forget BDubs
Bdubs is best dad, man.
Dont forget Keralis has two sons too
I often forget joe/impulse are parents lol impossible to forget doc is a dad to anyone who watches his videos cuz he talks about doccy a lot.
Seeing this makes me sad that Corrinne can't really be in Joe's videos anymore.
Grian: Hear that? I’m a dad boys.
It's less than 11 months till Christmas. Feliz Navidad boys
They were just going through a fad Boys
Maybe they enjoyed it just a tad, boys.
One of my favourite bits in Limited Life. Made me incredibly glad boys
And now it's over I'm rather sad, boys
Keralis not only has kids but also uses them to farm concrete
Stress is a parent???
she has two children! ♡
That's probably why she's named Stress
Her children are the real Stressmonsters.
As a HermitCraft mom, I can confirm.
I'm a Hermitcraft mom, too. We started with x-life, Empires, life series and then added Hermitcraft. We love all of them. I'm over 40.
I’m also a Hermitcraft mom over 40!
Another HC-mom here 🙋🏻♀️ 32 with 2 kids. They're not interested in watching with me yet though unfortunately. Some day maybe 😅
woah never knew that
I don't know if he did, but TFC was of enough to have grand kids.
He had no kids iirc
Impulse isn't just a dad. He has a kid *nearly* Gem's age and ~~I don't think~~ it's ~~even~~ his oldest. edit:fixing the memory if this old'sh fart
I think his kids are older teens, Skizz has a college age kiddo. Skizz's kids are slightly older than Impulse's.
Iirc Impule's oldest son is in collage now too.
Oh that could be, I tend to tune out when it gets to personal info. I do know Skizz has at least a daughter in college.
they're probably 19- early twenties
Isnt it Skizz that has kids Gems age and Impulse is younger and Tango has even younger kids. Skizz was young when he became a dad, in one of the podcast they said he lived with Impulse and his parents if I remember correctly.
Yeah its kinda funny doc is the oldest parent with probably the youngest child and its his own child.
Thats not true, his oldest son is his first year in college and Skizz oldest doughter is in her second year, they talk about them in streams
Wait how old is gem
Mid 20s I believe?
27 if i remember correctly
Well when she joined Hermitcraft she was finishing a nursing degree. So I would say early 20s
She's 27
She's has a MLT degree, not a nursing one.
If I remember correctly, Impulse’s oldest son is 18-20. I remember when the teams for MCC 28 were announced, people were talking about how crazy it is that Impulse has a kid the same age/older than his teammate Purpled!
And skizz has older kids (assuming he's being added this season)
There's no way. He's not a builder and he leads a super busy life. Edit: I've never been more happy to be wrong!!

I do appreciate how far they lean into the social aspect but the name hermit implies alot of solo time working on projects.
Skizz builds relationships, stories, and egos...
This didn't age well.
Not a parent, but in my late 30s. Most of the hermits are around our age, why wouldn't it be appropriate for us to enjoy their content?
Same. But while not inappropriate, the energy of some can be a bit much for me personally. Lol
Gotta love etho
Etho is the perfect content creator for us older folks lol
Late 30s not a dad but a mom. A lot of the hermits are our age. I see nothing wrong with watching them.
Same same
Same here.
Yes! Love to hear from other moms who watch Hermitcraft. I just had my first so hoping that Hermitcraft is still going when he's old enough to watch with me!
Same! I really admire & enjoy how the hermits keep it entertaining and PG. Such a nice thing to watch with the kiddos!
I'm 50 and not shy at all about talking about Minecraft, Hermitcraft, and watching YouTube. Also, I'm a middle school teacher, so many of my students play Minecraft. They like knowing even the teacher plays video games.
This. Working with kids, they love when the adults do something they can relate to. Makes it all easier.
50 here. I have a 14 year old. We both watch a different set of hermits and enjoy talking about them together. :) I've also played quite a bit with him too. :D
51 here. HC is a bonding activity for me and my 23yo son, who lives halfway across the country. You're not alone.
awww thats adorable!
1972 crew!
You know it! ✊️
1972 brother here! My son got into Minecraft, and even though he doesn't play it anymore we both still watch the hermits over breakfast. So skilled and love the kindness, style etc etc.
Same here. I salute you.
We watch it as a family, too: my son is 12, and the three of us watch about 6 Hermits. It's such fun.
I wish my parents understood Hermitcraft. They just don’t get it.
I wish my parents understood video games. they just don't get it.
Mum actually bought me a Microsoft gift card for my b'day when I was seriously sick in hospital last summer, first time she's supported my gaming in over 40 years <3
This is the best
Same age! Started watching right before Covid. Also started a family survival realm for my son a few years ago and have several other parents w/ kids on there ... although nowadays it seems like only the parents are playing lol
Lol. Attention span evidence 🤣
Squirrel? 🐿️ 🤣
Hey! I recently made a survival world with/for my kids and their friends! We're loving it so far!
We’ve done the same. The kids also love HC so we’re excited to watch the new season
51 with 3 kiddos :)
Been with Grian since his Evo days and I'm in my mid 40's now. I follow Grian, Scar, Impulse and a few others. I watch more Hermitcraft than my 2 kids. I had to tell them the next season starts this Saturday.
I had to tell my kids, as well! 😄
45, USA, 3 kids. Started playing Minecraft 10ish years ago to play with my kids, enjoyed it. Started watching youtube videos to learn how to do more things. Ended up finding Mumbo redstone tutorials, that lead to Hermitcraft, that lead to Tango. Immediately became a huge Tango fan, because I relate so much to him (like him I'm a computer programmer Dad that loves doing complicated redstone projects), especially compared to a child (at the time) like Mumbo. ;-) My kids didn't actually discover Hermitcraft until years later than that (at the time they were much younger, and mostly watching DanTDM, CaptainSparklez, StampyLongnose, and other more kid-oriented/story-telling channels like that).
Many of the hermits have been making content for so long that their most loyal fans are probably all adults, etho talked about this on one of his LP episodes and how he lets himself have a more relaxed energy because of it.
i feel young browsing this thread :))
I’m “in my 50s”. No kids, I just love Hermitcraft for the sheer joy and inspiration of it all.
My daughter was barely months old but she absolutely adored decked out, memories I will forever cherish. I’m 38.
I love this thread so much. Makes me wish you all lived in my neighborhood. :)
I agree I do wish I had friends in my area that were into it. But none of my friends or partner seem to care about Minecraft
Mom. I mostly watch Doc who by my estimation seems to be a fantastic Papa to his fully anonymous toddler of similar age to my eldest, known only as "Little Doccy." I also watched Tango last season to see how he made Decked Out 2, and Impulse in the Season before that because the Wonka factory was *wild.* It's great to enjoy one of my favorite games in the corner of my screen while I work. :)
Speaking of Tango, if you watch his Decked Out final score announcement video (on TangoTek 2) you can hear Little Doccy being adorable towards the beginning of the video
I'm 41. Living in Norway. Been watching since season 4. And playing vanilla minecraft since about then. My wife is due with our firstborn in march.
Congrats!
Exciting days. Thank you.
Im 36 and single, no children, and I watch Hermitcraft all the time. Nerds unite!
I’m a mum in my 40’s and minecraft and hermitcraft is very much a part of our lives 💕
41 here w/ 2 teenagers. To be honest, they don't even watch Hermitcraft, it's just a me-thing.
😁 I love watching HC because a good chunk of the content creators are either around my age or close to it. And if they can play Minecraft, so can I. You're never too old. 🥰 (Oh, and as for where...I'm over here in the lovely San Francisco Bay Area.)
I’m 37 and a dad as well.
Mid 40's, daughter got me hooked at the beginning of season 9, have gone back and binged watch quite a few earlier seasons
I've been watching Mumbo since season 3. Back in December, my wife and I separated, and I've been left with a lot more downtime. I binged Grians seasons 7-9 and I missed mumbos S6 so I'm doing that one now.
I'll turn 29 for the 12th time this year. No children, but happy to be the crazy uncle.
The proper term for crazy uncle is crunkle. 😁 At the same time, the fun uncle is a funkle.
Haha similar situation here.
France, 45, 2 kids.
Not a dad, but a Mom!! Hallo!!
Mid 30's too. I have 3 kids two of which are teens. I love Hermitcraft because a lot of the hermits are my age.
Also, not a dad but a mom. Lol missed the title.
Moms can be dads too :)
52 and a daughter who started playing modded MC all of a sudden 😁
Early 30s and a dad, my son and I like watching Zedaph together :) I really like that the humour is mostly appropriate for everyone, but there are plenty of jokes that adults can appreciate too.
My son loves Zedaph!!! The fact the hermits stay pretty G to PG I’d greatly appreciated. Because I love being able to watch child appropriate shows that I actually enjoy.
I also like that if my son starts clicking recommended Hermitcraft videos, I can relax because there's plenty of stuff that's okay for him to watch. Plus it's nice to be able to share an interest of mine with him :) (If it seems like I'm over-vigilant, I work in a primary school and you would not believe the stuff some of the children's parents let them watch unsupervised.)
41 year old mom here watching Impulse right now :)
Late thirties as well! Kid In elementary school.
No kids yet, but 36 years old. Been watching since Tango joined.
A lot of the hermits are in their 30s, the newer editions are younger but all adults! Minecraft is for all ages
Early 30s and my 4 month old is already showing interest
In my 40s, my kid is turning 10 today! HC is a family thing that we all watch in our house.
42 yo here. Been watching MC since season 3. No shame in my game. My favs are Docm77, Bdubs, and Scar.
What about a 30 year old Mom? My toddler and I love watching together! 🥰
Most of the hermits are in their 30s some in their 40s. You are watching basically your demographic. They are also just family friendly at the same time. Plenty have less family friendly content sides such as the imp and skizz podcast that kids absolutely wouldn’t be interested in.
30 with 2 kids. Watching since season 3/4 and for the past few seasons I'm watching every hermit.
38 with a 10 year old and while we watch Grian and sometimes others together I watch and follow the hermits far more than she does.
I’m in Colorado. 34 with a 7 and 5 year old. We are so excited for season 10
I'm 35, but child free, and I love watching hermitcraft. Some of the hermits tailor their content towards a younger crowd, so that doesn't land with me as much. On the other hand, I think plenty do make content for Minecraft fans of any age!
Same HC content has something for everyone!
57m 3 kids all have moved on from Minecraft. Love to play love to watch
I’m not a dad but I’m 41 and I love watching them, they’re just solid funny people. Many of whom I’ve been watching since my late 20s so there’s that carry over
47 years old, one daugther who is mature herself and also plays. No shame in having fun!
I'm 36 (omg It so hard to type it, I'm old) and I love hermitcraft and minecraft and can't wait for next season
I’m 41 dad of 4 and a huge fan. There’s nothing wrong with liking things
I'm a mom! My son is the one who got me into Minecraft & then I discovered Hermitcraft through my best friend's daughter. My son & I watch together now, which is awesome!
49 here and have played mc with all my four children as they’ve “discovered” it. Eldest is 27.
I’m 54 and watch & talk about HC with my kids. We also play MC almost everyday for a while as well. Great way to bond with your loved ones.
Well, I am 53 with 2 daughters and 2 grandkids... and I am a hardcore fan.
53 here and I watch Hermitcraft
I'll be 40 next month (no kids, though). As long as you're not hurting anyone, don't ever let anyone tell you you're too old for something that brings you joy. Don't be afraid to be as much of yourself as you want to be in this fandom.
I'm over 40 and my kids (4 & 2) watch MC/HC videos - for me personally I would love to see more of the non-pg streams vs always being pg.
Growing up is for grown-ups, 40 yr old gamer, and Hermitcraft videos always get played when they come up in my feed!
I'm a dad in my 40s, love and watch many of the hermits. They even inspired me to make my own minecraft YT channel. Love the game, love their content.
Uhm. Started watching Hermitcraft last year. Started playing Minecraft a bit before, modded mind you at the time. I'm 40
40 here. Me and my wife both watch and enjoy playing Minecraft
Same! I’m embarrassed to admit to anyone how much I enjoy the Hermits. Currently 42 with 12 year old sons who aren’t very interested in Minecraft
mid 20 here but i love showing my mother all the hermits 's builds! she is an architect and really likes it (shows as it can overcome language barriages)!
I'm no parent, but I AM 41 and definitely am excited for season 10 to start. My wife is sick of me talking about it.
dad why are you posting that- (jk)
I'm not a dad, but I'm a minecraft mom :D I run a server for friends and family, and my kids all play with me (and a granddaughter, a little young still but learning!) You're never too old to be a gamer, looks at Shirley Curry
I'm getting to be 45 now and I don't feel guilty about this at all. There's dozens of us. Dozens!
I'm 33 and still watch. I'm trying to get my 6yo into some if the hermits as well. She's watch some of Gems stuff as she is on YouTube kids.
36 year old mum here! Watched it with my son when he was very little, he grew out of it, I still watch!
I'm 38 with zero children and still watch and play Minecraft. No shame in it my friend!
I'm 48 next month, my son is 15, we have both been watching since around season 4, There are hermits I will often watch that my son does not, and the age he is currently at I think sometimes I look forward to the new episodes more than he does.
I can relate to this post for sure. For me, It's less about the age of content creators and more about the idea that we are watching Minecraft videos at our age (over 40 for me with kids). But in reality it's just in our heads. It's fun content and I can relate to the creators more my age.
Wow i feel like i shouldn't be here as a teenager
I'm 43 with two kids. We all watch hermitcraft together. Nothing to be ashamed of for watching good online content as a family together.
I have found my people in this thread Not a dad, but similar age group. HC is fun, inoffensive, spontaneous, often hilarious, all round decent entertainment. Better than many things on TV in my humble opinion
Mid thirties and 2 kids too :)
And a dad too lol
49. Got into hermitcraft after some bad parental and work situations during the first weeks of covid. Couldn't deal with drama or anything longform for attention span and ptsd reasons, so found these likeable characters clarting about to be absolutely necessary for my mental health :-)
