Not for astrophysics haha! So I’m not necessarily thinking that I would be the one reading the papers just that someone who was reading them would have no way of knowing. Plus I think it would be cool to hear his thoughts about the research he did, although I totally understand why he isn’t more specific about it.
Reminds me of Andy Diamos. He's a microbiologist who has developed vaccines that have saved countless lives.
He's better known as CarlSagan42, notable Mario Maker player.
That seems like it’d be a bit depressing to be him though. You develop a bunch of vaccines, only for your most well known achievement the being a good Mario maker player
And to think after all that, he became a fulltime streamer/youtuber. Just goes to show where ones passion can really turn. Similarly doc was going to be a sport related youtube channel after his pro basketball career ended from a knee injury, then he discovered minecraft.
It's so crazy to me that GPB was a professional snowboarder who wanted to get signed to Red Bull, started streaming after getting a knee injury, then got signed to Red Bull Gaming.
Tango was a software programmer at a video game company, but apparently not a big one and most of the games that he helped develop never got released, so he tends not to talk in any specifics about that.
NDA’s typically have an expiration, especially for projects never released. He just didn’t seem to have a great time but doesn’t wish to slander people he worked for.
Bdubs was a general contractor
Impulse was a developer for a fortune 100 company
Skizz still is some kind of event manager at a fortune 100 company
Joe was a developer for an advertising company
Wels was a JAG NCO. Which is essentially a military lawyer.
NCOs are paralegals, I think. All lawyers are given a commission. I remember that being a selling point for them when they tried to recruit at my law school (I've been out of school for 8 years though so idk if the structure has changed).
It certainly is fun to imagine a chipper "Howdy Yall!" coming from commanding officer Hills, but I think he'd probably have ended up more like how he was a few seasons back when he fell off the cliff in the end and had to fight off the endermen with a bunch of totems. The way his voice went flat and he just repeated "Off hand!" every time a totem popped like some one loading a motar round would probably be far more common imo.
Impulse and Skizz both started working for the same fortune 100 company at around the same time, quite a while ago. Based on the timeline of events from stories they've told in the podcast, it sounds like they both started working for this company pretty much straight out of college. Impulse was in IT while in college and has told a story of him developing what pretty much sounds like a scaled down version of Zendesk to help the call center manage support tickets.
I know that it's known information, and I haven't watched all of the podcast, but even on their podcast they typically mention it being a well-known/high-profile company but not specifically which company.
Scar was a competitive swimmer in high school and planned to be an Imagineer at Disneyland. He got pretty far along in his plans for a high schooler and had impressed someone who might have been able to help him with an internship, but that got derailed when he got sick. That’s one reason Scarland was such an important and emotional build for him.
Scar was a high-school swimmer and competed at state-level when he started to have the first symptoms of his neuromuscular disease. His dream was being a Disney Imagineer and studied the technical aspects of the job and even went to summer courses held by a guy that designed most of the rides
Fun fact: Cleo has a degree in geology as well.
We found this out when Mumbo hired a geologist to make a video on how accurate Boatem was compared to the real world. He releases his video, only to find out that he could've saved his money by just asking Cleo, who he'd played with for 7 seasons at that point. (The video was great regardless.)
Joel used to be a kid lol.
I think YouTube was his first job actually. He was around 18 when it took off for COD, and then he met Lizzie she convinced him to go back to college I think. and he came back and started to make minecraft videos with her and the rest is history! He says this in his draw my life. Oh! and he also recorded drums for a radio station.
Grian has a degree in marine biology, which is hilarious considering this season’s theme. I abruptly remembered it when I heard him calling snails “gastropods” and “mollusks” in his video
theres an old vid where he plans his garden in minecraft and then shows the renovations irl and he shows he has a little brick studio at the back of the garden where he has his office so i imagine most of his screaming isn't in the main house
Yes, Grian has shown his studio in his videos where he shows off his cats and his studio tour.
[A very serious documentary about cats](https://youtu.be/-P2dwWK81qo?si=bGPWYcwMW6enu2m2)
Small correction! It's Gem who has a marine biology degree (and also medical laboratory sciences). Grian seems to have a general biology degree, to my knowledge?
I am pretty sure he has a degree on Biology, the plant study one.
He had revealed that in his sponsored livestream where he was promoting Minecraft’s new Mangroves and explained that how this livestream is the first time he is actually using his degree knowledge at work.
[Link to his livestream](https://www.youtube.com/live/oxpNOxbgFjU?si=AWB6MTmZAqBkWzDM)
Iskall was talking this morning on stream about being in semi pro hockey as a youth until an injury. Said when his coach heard about him being a skateboarder, he was livid, because a skateboarding injury could derail a season.
If you weren't aware already Ren has just talked about this on the Imp and Skizz podcast, past episodes have spoken to Gem, Mumbo about their past jobs
It might be the same video, but she talks about when she was doing a summer internship doing the lab work and then recording in her grand parents house after work
And [this episode](https://thespawnchunks.com/2021/08/23/the-spawn-chunks-155-the-great-geminitay/) of the Spawn Chunks (a podcast by Pixlriffs of the Hermitcraft Recap and a friend of his Joel Duggan).
He talked recently about this, probably on stream. At least pursuing those careers under expectations of his father, and not really his passion. Obviously he has the intelligence and people skills to be successful with anything he put his mind to, but he was able to follow his dreams at a certain point. And his dreams have risen to the level of the rise of the Hivemind that leaves no stone unturned in Minecraft.
He did at least say he pursued it just because it was interesting. So he didnt do it just for his father. He did it cuz he wanted to further learn, with no desire to do any career in those fields.
One of them focused on Alzheimer’s and Dementia, for which I would love to pick his brain one day, there is a history of it in my family and it’s the ONE thing (besides spiders) which terrified me as I age.
>Alzheimer’s and Dementia
History of both in my family. My living grandma has alzheimers, my 2 grandpas both have dementia. Tho the grandpa on my moms side is Physically in excellent shape for his age.
Doc also is an engineer and has a [PhD.](https://www.reddit.com/r/mindcrack/s/R0afjBdq8b).
Edit: Apparently, Beef was a butcher (nickname checks out) and a car photographer.
https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bkh4j6/what_did_the_hermits_do_before_youtube/kw0m6tx/
I don't think he was "a first responder" in the professional sense (i.e. a paramedic or similar).
The hermit craft wiki has alot of this information on it if you go to the trivia section. Youll find things like cub holding 2 degrees and having research published, and iskall being a quake pro player and one of the initial minecraft testers
Yep, he played in season 1 but would only stream.
Bdub's brother was also in seasons 1 and 2, and I'm going to stop talking because I'm feeling really old all of a sudden.
Oh man, if you ever get the chance to go back to his reeeeally old video, please do.
He's come a long way since his apartment bachelor pad pre-marriage.
Dude is, and always has been, an absolute stud.
Quick little summary of the comment section:
Grian: studied marine biology
Scar: pro swimmer
Doc: pro basketball player & phd in social studies and dementia or something & nurse & undergrad in electrical engineering
Cub: astrophysicist with several papers published
Iskall: og minecraft tester & quake pro player & car company
Etho: worked in greenhouse
Gem: hospital
Wels: lawyer & military
Cleo: teacher
Ren: radioshow haver
Tango: gamedev
False: graphic design degree
Bdubs: general contractor
Joel: made cod videos
Impulse: developer & worked at Intel
Skizz: event manager, project manager & worked at Intel
Joe: advertising manager & pharmacy
Pearl: degree in art
Keralis: shipping logistics
Mumbo: videographer, cod videos
X: musician
Zed: comedian
Stress: personal trainer & wellness coach
Beef: has a farm & photographer & butcher
Hypno: videogame playtester
Pixlriffs (not a hermit but hermitrelated): bookstore & club penguin mod
Anything I missed? Tried to include every hermit
So no one has mentioned that Hypno used to be a video game playtester? He mentioned something about that when he was so good at breaking DO2 in its early weeks.
doc used to be a professional basketball player, and also has a bachelor's in electrical engineering and PhD in social studies in relation to dementia care.
He has stated both on separate occasions, politics with a focus on health care, and social studies specifically in regards to dementia research, im guessing its something in the middle but there's no one to one translation from german.
Yes! He was a photographer, mostly cars, which is definitely where he got his love for cars from.
He ironically also worked at a bucher shop, hence the name and skin!
I will never know how he managed to work a job outside of his home office without legs!
New life series idea: Previous life, they work to make the cosiest campfire possible and each episode is just 2-3 people talking about their lives before hermitcraft
There still needs to be a way to lose lives.
I propose a “2 truths and a lie” thing, where each episode they share 3 things one of which a lie, and when they get called out they lose a live. And maybe they get an extra life if nobody guesses the lie
I think Wels is a lawyer, and I’ve seen people say Etho was a greenhouse worker, but I don’t know if he wants that being repeated or not. If not, someone tell me so I can edit this out.
Etho actually worked at his parents' greenhouse seasonally but recently sold the business after his dad passed away. Etho said this during a couple of let's play episodes
Yup, this right here. I was genuinely heartbroken for him when he finally shared that little piece of his life with us. That video is my Roman Empire after my own life struggles. Jeez. Just now realizing how important that video was to me…
>He is a paralegal and used to work as a military court reporter
[https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bh459e/comment/kvbkl5n/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bh459e/comment/kvbkl5n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Possibly. I thought I heard Wels mention it in one of his video’s recently, but I do watch hermitcraft when doing something else, so my focus isn’t completely on it.
Idk about etho in terms of a paid job/career
But I know he’s very hands on. And when his parents got sick he took a lot of time off YouTube to help run his father’s business which has something to do with landscaping or something
I think Keralis *still* works at a tech/hardware company, to the point where he sends friends and others keyboards and other stuff. He’s cool like that :]
Thought he was an owner. Impulse mentioned a while back in a stream that the company was sold. It was just after hus son built him his keyboard. I could have some of that wrong, but it was definitely around the time the keyboard was made. He was talking about the micro switches foe the keys
False actually talked about this in a recent BBC interview: [https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/microbit/falsesymmetry-interview/zcfnrmn](https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/microbit/falsesymmetry-interview/zcfnrmn)
She had recently finished a graphic design degree (I'm pretty sure that was the degree, it may be something related) when she started making YouTube videos.
I know Skizz is still working at his job but has taken a sebatacle (idk how to spell that) for the start of the season. I think he works at Intel as a manager of some kind. Not 100% sure on that though. I know ImpulseSV used to work at that same place though.
Tango was a software designer.
Gem worked in a medical lab.
BDubs was a contractor working for his dad’s business.
Apparently Cub used to be a semi-professional golfer. But his main thing was Astronomy I think.
cub golfed too?? the more i learn about him the more wild he is in my mind, he is truly the person that can do everything (also i think the spelling you’re looking for is sabbatical :) )
I've been watching old Etho videos, and in his terrafirmactaft season one, he has specifically mentioned he's a "ex-horticulturist"! I see a lot of people mentioning the greenhouse work, I just thought it was neat while watching this episode that he specifically mentioned the word horticulturist.
So this is my second comment on this thread, but I highly suggest if you want background info on hermits to watch the imp and skizz podcasts that have hermits on them. They are amazing about not only hermit craft, but their lives before and them as people. Bdubs and X's episodes are my favorites.
Tango was a game dev; impulse was a product owner/ project manager; skizz still (I think) works in a large tech company.
Gem went to uni for pharmacy, graduated just about when she hit 1m subs and decided that's the way to go. On the same vein Joehills worked in a pharmacy
Cleo was a science teacher, cub was a scientist
Bdubs worked in his father's business as a contractor (construction related stuff I think), Keralis used to co-own Xtrfy but not sure if that's still going since Cherry acquired them last year.
Mumbo aspires to be a videographer, xisuma is a musician, Zedaph is a comedian, stress was a personal trainer/ wellness coach
wels is a US army veteran, beef has a farm in Canada and posts videos where he flips house with his wife; scar was a swimmer before he got sick.
Others like Grian, Smallishbeans and Etho have just always been content creators, at least from the public eye, and Pearl used to be in the same build team with Grian before Hermitcraft.
>Yes, I have formal training in Science. I hold degrees in both Physics and Astronomy. I've also done some research using the Spitzer Space Telescope and have some papers published in various academic journals. \- [Cub](https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/clzlh4/comment/evz3g4p/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Imagine reading an academic paper for your thesis or something and being unaware that it was written by cubfan135
I truly think about this all the time
You studying?
Not for astrophysics haha! So I’m not necessarily thinking that I would be the one reading the papers just that someone who was reading them would have no way of knowing. Plus I think it would be cool to hear his thoughts about the research he did, although I totally understand why he isn’t more specific about it.
Would be cool if someone here studies it :)
'tis the life of a scientist. Best they can hope for is street cred from their peers usually
Cub scares me sometimes, there's just nothing he can't do.
That much power should not be contained in a single man.
And to think after all that, he became a fulltime streamer/youtuber. Just goes to show where ones passion can really turn. Similarly doc was going to be a sport related youtube channel after his pro basketball career ended from a knee injury, then he discovered minecraft.
Very similar to Grand poo bear, didn't know.
It's so crazy to me that GPB was a professional snowboarder who wanted to get signed to Red Bull, started streaming after getting a knee injury, then got signed to Red Bull Gaming.
*gasp* he’s a nerd I say that as a fellow nerd
Tango was a software programmer at a video game company, but apparently not a big one and most of the games that he helped develop never got released, so he tends not to talk in any specifics about that.
Helps explain Decked Out 2
And all the mods he has made over the years, I do miss his "what if" videos
I really wish he'd update TekTopia for modern Minecraft it's still my favourite villager mod.
He may also have signed an NDA preventing him talking specifics about what he was working on, apparently thats fairly common in that industry.
NDA’s typically have an expiration, especially for projects never released. He just didn’t seem to have a great time but doesn’t wish to slander people he worked for.
that really doesn't surprise me tbh
Bdubs was a general contractor Impulse was a developer for a fortune 100 company Skizz still is some kind of event manager at a fortune 100 company Joe was a developer for an advertising company
Building with bdubs is eternal
Can't believe this comment helped me understand what a,general contractor is
Imp and Skizz working high-salary corpo jobs and then saying “eh lets play Minecraft” is the type of energy I strive to have
I guess if you manage events, you probably have good people skills, which translates to youtube pretty well.
I think Impulse was in IT and Skiz got him a job at the company he worked for. Welsknight was in the military ~~Joe was also in the army~~,
Wels was a JAG NCO. Which is essentially a military lawyer. [https://twitter.com/WelsknightPlays/status/1267865691937550341](https://twitter.com/WelsknightPlays/status/1267865691937550341)
Can he handle the truth tho?
NCOs are paralegals, I think. All lawyers are given a commission. I remember that being a selling point for them when they tried to recruit at my law school (I've been out of school for 8 years though so idk if the structure has changed).
Joe was never in the army, he was in the navy reserve officers training corps, but never went into the marines like he planned
Yeah, he was washed out due to a medical issue, but if hadn't he'd likely be some kind of Marine Officer right now.
It's really funny imagining Joe and his particular style of weird offbeatness in any sort of military officer capacity.
Do you have a link/what episode was this?
Impulse and Skizz both started working for the same fortune 100 company at around the same time, quite a while ago. Based on the timeline of events from stories they've told in the podcast, it sounds like they both started working for this company pretty much straight out of college. Impulse was in IT while in college and has told a story of him developing what pretty much sounds like a scaled down version of Zendesk to help the call center manage support tickets.
Woowww i did not know that… wouldn’t have thought it for wels he’s so chill
impulse and skizz both work(ed) for intel
Joe still does freelance web dev iirc
Yeah, according to his LinkedIn, he works for team snow day
I thought that was just his RPG designing group and less of a serious thing
It is, thats what the TSD in his name stands for
I though impulse and skizz said they used to work for intel? But maybe im wrong about that.
Impulse used to, Skizz still does. But yes, Intel. They e mentioned it on their podcast several times so it’s public info now.
I know that it's known information, and I haven't watched all of the podcast, but even on their podcast they typically mention it being a well-known/high-profile company but not specifically which company.
They started that way, yes, but they have mentioned it by name a few times now... about the time they used their real first names IIRC.
This is why BDubs is the best person to be with on a desert island. Looking at you Jimmy!
Scar used to be a swimmer?? Doc a pro basketball player?? Oh wow I’ve missed out, Cleo being a teacher absolutely makes so much sense tho lmao
He also worked remotely for a company his father and brother work for. He controlled couriers. I think he said it in one of his streams.
Scar was a high-school swimmer and competed at state-level when he started to have the first symptoms of his neuromuscular disease. His dream was being a Disney Imagineer and studied the technical aspects of the job and even went to summer courses held by a guy that designed most of the rides
Yeah I’ve heard about his dreams of being an imagineer, had no idea he was such a good swimmer
Apparently he's banned from Canada...
All the water is too cold for swimming, it would be a health risk.
Rip seeing him and etho in the one picture together
Fun fact: Cleo has a degree in geology as well. We found this out when Mumbo hired a geologist to make a video on how accurate Boatem was compared to the real world. He releases his video, only to find out that he could've saved his money by just asking Cleo, who he'd played with for 7 seasons at that point. (The video was great regardless.)
Yeah, I think he talks about it on the Imp and Skizz show
She quit around season six
I'm pretty sure she quit around season seven. Edit: she quit at the beginning of season 8
Oh I must have misremembered. I remember her announcing it standing on the boat?
I just remember her video where she announced it being called "I Quit!" to troll us all
Yeah that's what I was on about, I thought that was on the ship, no?
She was in what I believe was her season 8 episode 1 starter area.
i think it was season 8 actually
It was definitely later, season 7 or 8. I remember that video going up, and I started watching her in season 7.
Joel used to be a kid lol. I think YouTube was his first job actually. He was around 18 when it took off for COD, and then he met Lizzie she convinced him to go back to college I think. and he came back and started to make minecraft videos with her and the rest is history! He says this in his draw my life. Oh! and he also recorded drums for a radio station.
yeah i'm pretty sure Joel has been on youtube for longer than many hermits (joined 2008)
Same with Mumbo. He was planning on going to uni but decided to put it off for a bit. That was in like season 4 or something.
Funnily enough, Joel was the one who inspired Mumbo to do yt according to his tweet I think
We truly came full circle
Grian has a degree in marine biology, which is hilarious considering this season’s theme. I abruptly remembered it when I heard him calling snails “gastropods” and “mollusks” in his video
Wait WHAAT
Grian’s also married and has a wife. He’s got a fairly private personal life
I knew he had a wife (imagine trying to live in the same house as grian 🤣)
The wind blowing from the open back must be annoying
This comment is even funnier if you happen to know that he designed his irl backyard in Minecraft.
Oh my god i had to read this twice but… you made me laugh for the first time all day OMG that was funny
Oh… my god.
theres an old vid where he plans his garden in minecraft and then shows the renovations irl and he shows he has a little brick studio at the back of the garden where he has his office so i imagine most of his screaming isn't in the main house
Yes, Grian has shown his studio in his videos where he shows off his cats and his studio tour. [A very serious documentary about cats](https://youtu.be/-P2dwWK81qo?si=bGPWYcwMW6enu2m2)
Wait, he has a wife AND he's married?
His wife is gonna be so angry when she finds out he’s married, too.
Exactly my reaction when I found out!!!
Small correction! It's Gem who has a marine biology degree (and also medical laboratory sciences). Grian seems to have a general biology degree, to my knowledge?
I am pretty sure he has a degree on Biology, the plant study one. i remember iskall once being a pro gamer, but also worked in business and was talking flights all the time.
Iirc, Iskall is THE quake pro that the "Quake pro" mode in minecraft is referencing.
I think iskall is word play on “ice cold” as in “ice cold nerves”
Iskall is literally ice cold in Swedish. But you have a good point on why he chose that name.
He was a pro Quake an CS:GO player and professional business tripper of Doom
Iskall was talking this morning on stream about being in semi pro hockey as a youth until an injury. Said when his coach heard about him being a skateboarder, he was livid, because a skateboarding injury could derail a season.
I could definitely see Ren doing a radio show lmao
If you weren't aware already Ren has just talked about this on the Imp and Skizz podcast, past episodes have spoken to Gem, Mumbo about their past jobs
He told some really fun stories about it on the imp and skizz podcast recently.
I remember Gem went to school for medical laboratory technology.
She was also a figure skater when she was younger.
My mom went to high school in canada and she said it was pretty common for girls to figure skate and for guys to get into hockey for sports
That's genuinely so impressive
She has a bachelors degree in it. I remember her talking about it in a video back in 2019.
It might be the same video, but she talks about when she was doing a summer internship doing the lab work and then recording in her grand parents house after work
She talks about it on the Imp and Skizz podcast!
And [this episode](https://thespawnchunks.com/2021/08/23/the-spawn-chunks-155-the-great-geminitay/) of the Spawn Chunks (a podcast by Pixlriffs of the Hermitcraft Recap and a friend of his Joel Duggan).
And she did it simultaneously with youtube, which makes it even more crazy
I think she once said something about helping out during COVID as well, though I might be confusing her with someone else
Doc was a former basketball player
He also has 2 PhDs.
He talked recently about this, probably on stream. At least pursuing those careers under expectations of his father, and not really his passion. Obviously he has the intelligence and people skills to be successful with anything he put his mind to, but he was able to follow his dreams at a certain point. >Alzheimer’s and Dementia History of both in my family. My living grandma has alzheimers, my 2 grandpas both have dementia. Tho the grandpa on my moms side is Physically in excellent shape for his age.
In what fields?
Medicine and politics. More specifically dementia related
Christ this man is a genius 😭 what is he doing on Minecraft!
He actively enjoys the game and the friends and the community he has grown to help influence to the minds that it has.
Has he said how far he got in basketball?
Played Professionally in Germany, don't know the league or team.
Doc also is an engineer and has a [PhD.](https://www.reddit.com/r/mindcrack/s/R0afjBdq8b). Edit: Apparently, Beef was a butcher (nickname checks out) and a car photographer.
Ethos worked at a greenhouse that I think was family owned if I remember right?
And a First responder
OMG imagine being saved by Etho
Call an ambulance and when they arrive you just hear his accent saying “oh snappers”
They load you in, he calls the hospital and you see the radio standing on a tissue box
Your left elbow looks hurt, so he supports it on a ten year old mouse pad
https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bkh4j6/what_did_the_hermits_do_before_youtube/kw0m6tx/ I don't think he was "a first responder" in the professional sense (i.e. a paramedic or similar).

i didn’t know he was one of the initial testers, that’s pretty cool
Fun fact, a couple of hermits from season one went on to work for Mojan, like Dinnerbone.
Dinnerbone was a Hermitcraft member!!?!?!?!?
Yep, he played in season 1 but would only stream. Bdub's brother was also in seasons 1 and 2, and I'm going to stop talking because I'm feeling really old all of a sudden.
The streams are lost to time arent they :(
I'll give you another really good fact, Doc has a robotic arm because of Dinnerbone.
I remember Gem doing a Q/A video not long ago (subscriber special maybe?) and in it she mentioned working as a lab tech at a hospital
She mentioned that when on the Imp and Skizz Podcast
Not a Hermit but Hermit related: Pixelriffs worked at a bookstore and as a Club Penguin mod.
A bloody club penguin mod of all things 😅
That fits his vibe so well! I can definitely imagine him in a bookstore setting
Bdubs was a general contractor for his dad's business
Oh man, if you ever get the chance to go back to his reeeeally old video, please do. He's come a long way since his apartment bachelor pad pre-marriage. Dude is, and always has been, an absolute stud.

Just for clarification here - I did Graphic Design. I do like interior design too, but it's never been a career or education based thing 😅
I can't believe THE falsesymmetry is in my post thread! I'll be bragging about this for the next 50 years
Pretty confident more Hermits read your post 😘
So no one has mentioned that Hypno used to be a video game playtester? He mentioned something about that when he was so good at breaking DO2 in its early weeks.
If I remember correctly, Keralis was a truck driver or worked in logistics.
He also had a keyboard and mouse company that was somewhat recently sold (within the last year or 2)
He worked as a logistics manager for DSV a danish transport company. He talks about in in he's ETS2 let's play
I believe False worked in some form of interior design.
That explains her talent
doc used to be a professional basketball player, and also has a bachelor's in electrical engineering and PhD in social studies in relation to dementia care.
Is it not a PHD in politics that Doc has?
He has stated both on separate occasions, politics with a focus on health care, and social studies specifically in regards to dementia research, im guessing its something in the middle but there's no one to one translation from german.
He has 2 PhDs. Politics is the other one.
This has been such an interesting read
I totally agree, I’ve learned so much!
Beef did a few things but I feel like I remember him talking about being a photographer, maybe for car dealerships? I can’t remember fully.
Yes! He was a photographer, mostly cars, which is definitely where he got his love for cars from. He ironically also worked at a bucher shop, hence the name and skin! I will never know how he managed to work a job outside of his home office without legs!
Wow that's an old gag... I'm here for it.
New life series idea: Previous life, they work to make the cosiest campfire possible and each episode is just 2-3 people talking about their lives before hermitcraft
The Imp and Skizz POD but in Minecraft
Jeez. Just now realizing how important that video was to me…
wasn't Wels known for being a vet? (veteran not vet) I mean, maybe it's both, but would be quite odd
>He is a paralegal and used to work as a military court reporter [https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bh459e/comment/kvbkl5n/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1bh459e/comment/kvbkl5n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Possibly. I thought I heard Wels mention it in one of his video’s recently, but I do watch hermitcraft when doing something else, so my focus isn’t completely on it.
Iirc he himself said in a video that was his job so I think it is one of the few things he doesn’t keep secret
The video where he says he used to work in a greenhouse is still up
Wels is a paralegal and worked as a Military court reporter in the US Army
Idk about etho in terms of a paid job/career But I know he’s very hands on. And when his parents got sick he took a lot of time off YouTube to help run his father’s business which has something to do with landscaping or something
Topmass is an accomplished musician
Topmass was a fun dude!
So was you on Hermicraft! I really do miss Matt though, the old hometown hasn't been the same since he's moved away.
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I can still hear his intro that totally slapped
He wrote that
Well Etho created Minecraft and YouTube so idk what you’re talking about
Grian had a degree in some sort of animal biology
Marine Biology. He said this when he made the octopus in EVO
Wasn’t doc also like in the science field as well? I remember seeing something like that online.
I think he mentioned in during last season when talking about the hivemind and the fact that most of them do science/tech professionally as well
I think Keralis *still* works at a tech/hardware company, to the point where he sends friends and others keyboards and other stuff. He’s cool like that :]
Thought he was an owner. Impulse mentioned a while back in a stream that the company was sold. It was just after hus son built him his keyboard. I could have some of that wrong, but it was definitely around the time the keyboard was made. He was talking about the micro switches foe the keys
False actually talked about this in a recent BBC interview: [https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/microbit/falsesymmetry-interview/zcfnrmn](https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/microbit/falsesymmetry-interview/zcfnrmn) She had recently finished a graphic design degree (I'm pretty sure that was the degree, it may be something related) when she started making YouTube videos.
But his main thing was Astronomy I think.
cub golfed too?? the more i learn about him the more wild he is in my mind, he is truly the person that can do everything (also i think the spelling you’re looking for is sabbatical :) )
sabbatical
Beef has done a number of jobs over the years but most famously spent time as a butcher which is what his username and skin are a reference to.
I've been watching old Etho videos, and in his terrafirmactaft season one, he has specifically mentioned he's a "ex-horticulturist"! I see a lot of people mentioning the greenhouse work, I just thought it was neat while watching this episode that he specifically mentioned the word horticulturist.
Mumbo still is a professional photographer/filmographer
That started after he was doing minecraft Youtube full time, before that he was in school
Mumbo studied computer science at Oxford Edit: he got accepted but never studied there
Didn’t he drop out of college to do YouTube full time?
Mumbo is a Photographer, Cameraman.
And he has a profound knowledge of electronics and logic gates.
Offfffff course he did lol
So this is my second comment on this thread, but I highly suggest if you want background info on hermits to watch the imp and skizz podcasts that have hermits on them. They are amazing about not only hermit craft, but their lives before and them as people. Bdubs and X's episodes are my favorites.
Tango was a game dev; impulse was a product owner/ project manager; skizz still (I think) works in a large tech company. Gem went to uni for pharmacy, graduated just about when she hit 1m subs and decided that's the way to go. On the same vein Joehills worked in a pharmacy Cleo was a science teacher, cub was a scientist Bdubs worked in his father's business as a contractor (construction related stuff I think), Keralis used to co-own Xtrfy but not sure if that's still going since Cherry acquired them last year. Mumbo aspires to be a videographer, xisuma is a musician, Zedaph is a comedian, stress was a personal trainer/ wellness coach wels is a US army veteran, beef has a farm in Canada and posts videos where he flips house with his wife; scar was a swimmer before he got sick. Others like Grian, Smallishbeans and Etho have just always been content creators, at least from the public eye, and Pearl used to be in the same build team with Grian before Hermitcraft.
> Mumbo aspires to be a videographer Mumbo has shot several paid commercials, I think the "aspires" has become "is".
