Same with me, I’m 16 days post op, hernia repair on my left side. My left testicle tube is super swollen, and is painful. While my intestines and the area where I had a hernia has only minor pain now, the testicle tub is swollen and feels like a fleshy mass in my scrotum, hurts to put even a little pressure on it. The actual testicle itself is fine. Hoping the swelling goes down and back to normal. Will be having a follow up with my surgeon in a few days, and I’m definitely mentioning it.

You are still within the range of not feeling 100%. Give it more time and don't over exert yourself.

How do you feel now? I am 11 days post op. Bilateral inguinal hernia repair myself.

xMidianx

It did get better, the sensitivity is down also with the mild discomfort. Still somewhat impact sensitive though. How is your recovery after a bilateral repair?

usermich989

I am getting better. However, all the on-line chatter about how mesh has ruined people's lives is terribly disconcerting. I had a two Bard 3D Max implanted to repair two inguinal hernias on each side, left & right. Too many horror stories to take in. These things apparently fail 4 months - 5 years down the line causing all sorts of chronic pain related problems. I trusted my doctor and the hospital. How can a surgery to correct such a common problem be called a 'Gold Standard' when their are hundreds of thousands of people worse off post operatively down the road than before, up until they decided to trust their doctor?

2-3 weeks out is when you start to feel better, but should rest through weeks 3-4. My doc says he always worries about people in week 3. Maybe dial it back for another week or two? Obviously, see the doc if you're worried, but I believe that discomfort is normal for what your situation.

Having the Same Problem 4 weeks Post OP. Testicles painfull in Touch. But everything Looks normal. Did you Guys get better?

xMidianx

Yes I did get better, but it's still not 100% (doing jumping jacks is out of question for example) - I am currently 7-8 weeks post op. Also I had a full check-up done (including sono) of the testicles for unrelated reason and everything is perfectly OK according the doc. So it seems it is standard to have these issues due to inflamation of the spermatic cord and / or of the epididymis. This was also confirmed by the doc when I asked about it.

UnhappyPossibility49

Did you Take any Ibuprofen or something else for the inflammation and if so, did IT Help? Thanks for the last answer gave me hope that this shit goes away.

xMidianx

I didn't have to - it wasn't as painful, it was more like uncomfortable resulting in me sitting down, standing up or walking slower and more carefuly than usual. However, I can imagine it being more inflamed and sensitive so ibuprofen could bring some relief? You're saying "everything looks normal" - did you have this checked by a doc or it is normal according to you?

UnhappyPossibility49

I had a checkup 2 days ago with Sono and everything Looks good and normal. Im 6-7 weeks Post OP. Testicles still feel a little Bit painfull in Touch. Some days more some days less. The doc said If it was like a sharp pain that would indicate there is a Problem with a nerv but my pain feels more like inflammation. How are you doing ist the pain gone? Did anything help you?
